- a tensional force is exerted on the toweling between the damping nip roller and toweling support roller sufficient tension in the toweling will pivot the pivoting paper guide and raise the damping nip roller upwardly as shown in Figs. 4 and 7 , for example, so that it provides a damping action with respect to the paper toweling.
- FIG. 7 illustrates by means of an arrow the distal ends of the plastic springs 54 which in this embodiment are extensions of some of the ribs 36.
- Fixed paper guide 58 is a component of the damping assembly of this invention, along with the damping nip roller 32 and pivoting paper guide 34. Fixed paper guide 58 is attached to the housing side panels. The pivoting paper guide isn't directly connected to the fixed paper guide until the plastic springs contact the fixed paper guide during the damping phase.
- Figs. 2 and 4 illustrate the condition of the structural features of the damping assembly in the relative positions assumed thereby with respect to the toweling support roller at maximum damping when the plastic springs 54 are being flexed due to engagement with the fixed paper guide 58 at the location of recesses 42. Engagement is at an upper portion of the fixed paper guide defining the recesses 56.
- the damping nip roller integrated into the pivoting paper guide 34 will dampen shock force that occurs when overspin slack is fully consumed.
- the integrated pivoting paper guide 34 and fixed paper guide 58 improve blade cutting by preventing accumulation of toweling wrinkles. This arrangement also creates nearly 270 degrees of wrap on the toweling support roller between nip roller 32 and a second nip roller adjacent to the inner end of the fixed paper guide 58 which further improves the ability to cut a variety of toweling types by reducing the chance for toweling slippage on the toweling support roller.
- a two stage spring action is incorporated by the use of coil springs and plastic springs and after initial damping begins plastic springs that are integrated into the pivoting paper guide engage a fixed mechanism (the lead end of the fixed paper guide) to apply additional spring force to the damping assembly as discussed above.

Claims (15)
- Appareil de distribution pour distribuer un matériau absorbant en papier à partir d'un rouleau et pour appliquer des forces d'amortissement au matériau absorbant en papier lorsqu'un choc de tension excessive est absorbé lors de la traction du matériau absorbant en papier pendant la distribution, ledit appareil de distribution comprenant :un boîtier (10) ;un support de rouleau (12) relié audit boîtier (10) pour monter le rouleau de matériau absorbant en papier (14) et permettre la rotation du rouleau de matériau absorbant en papier (14) lors de la distribution ;un rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20), espacé dudit support de rouleau (12), le rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20) recevant du matériau absorbant en papier dudit rouleau de matériau absorbant en papier (14) et pouvant fonctionner lors de la rotation pour distribuer ledit matériau absorbant en papier ;un guide de papier pivotant (34) s'étendant partiellement autour dudit rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20) et définissant un trajet de papier pour le matériau absorbant en papier autour d'une partie du rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20) ;un rouleau de pincement (32) supporté par ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) ;et une structure de ressort reliée de manière opérationnelle audit guide de papier pivotant (34) afin d'exercer une force de sollicitation sur ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) et de former une zone de pincement entre ledit rouleau de pincement (32) et ledit rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20) recevant le matériau absorbant en papier ;ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) et ledit rouleau de pincement (32) étant conçus pour être éloignés dudit rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif (20) ;caractérisé en ce que le rouleau de pincement (32) est un rouleau de pincement d'amortissement ;en ce que ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) et ledit rouleau de pincement d'amortissement (32) assurent une action d'amortissement lorsque des forces de tension d'une magnitude prédéterminée sont produites dans le matériau absorbant en papier entre le rouleau de pincement d'amortissement (32) et le rouleau de support de matériau absorbant en papier rotatif (20) lors de la traction du matériau absorbant en papier ;et en ce que ladite structure de ressort comporte une première structure de ressort (46) et une deuxième structure de ressort (54), ladite deuxième structure de ressort pouvant fonctionner pour exercer une force de sollicitation après qu'une force de sollicitation a été exercée par ladite première structure de ressort.
- Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 1,
comportant de plus un guide de papier fixe incurvé (58), ledit guide de papier fixe incurvé (58) étant positionné en position adjacente au guide de papier pivotant (34), ledit matériau absorbant en papier formant un enroulement d'environ 270 degrés autour du rouleau de support de matériau absorbant (20) et s'étendant sous et au-delà des extrémités dudit guide de papier fixe incurvé (58) et dudit guide de papier pivotant (34). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 2,
ladite première structure de ressort s'étendant entre ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) et ledit boîtier (10). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 3,
ladite première structure de ressort comportant au moins un ressort enroulé (46). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 4,
des broches de pivotement (44) espacées dudit au moins un ressort enroulé (46) reliant ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) au boîtier (10). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 3,
ladite deuxième structure de ressort étant située à un emplacement d'interconnexion entre ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) et ledit guide de papier fixe incurvé (58). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 6,
ladite deuxième structure de ressort comprenant au moins un ressort plastique souple (54). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 7,
ledit au moins un ressort plastique souple (54) étant positionné dans un renfoncement (56) défini par ledit guide de papier fixe incurvé (58). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 8,
ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) comportant des éléments allongés s'étendant en prise avec ledit guide de papier fixe (58), une extrémité distale d'au moins l'un desdits éléments comprenant ledit au moins un ressort plastique souple (54). - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 2,
ledit rouleau de pincement d'amortissement (32) et un deuxième rouleau de pincement définissant l'enroulement sur le rouleau de support de matériau absorbant rotatif d'environ 270 degrés. - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 6,
ledit guide de papier pivotant (34) n'étant pas directement relié audit guide de papier fixe (58) jusqu'à ce que des ressorts plastiques (54) entrent en contact avec le guide de papier fixe (58) lors d'une phase d'amortissement. - Appareil de distribution selon la revendication 6,
