  • a tensional force is exerted on the toweling between the damping nip roller and toweling support roller sufficient tension in the toweling will pivot the pivoting paper guide and raise the damping nip roller upwardly as shown in Figs. 4 and 7 , for example, so that it provides a damping action with respect to the paper toweling.
  • FIG. 7 illustrates by means of an arrow the distal ends of the plastic springs 54 which in this embodiment are extensions of some of the ribs 36.
  • Fixed paper guide 58 is a component of the damping assembly of this invention, along with the damping nip roller 32 and pivoting paper guide 34. Fixed paper guide 58 is attached to the housing side panels. The pivoting paper guide isn't directly connected to the fixed paper guide until the plastic springs contact the fixed paper guide during the damping phase.
  • Figs. 2 and 4 illustrate the condition of the structural features of the damping assembly in the relative positions assumed thereby with respect to the toweling support roller at maximum damping when the plastic springs 54 are being flexed due to engagement with the fixed paper guide 58 at the location of recesses 42. Engagement is at an upper portion of the fixed paper guide defining the recesses 56.
  • the damping nip roller integrated into the pivoting paper guide 34 will dampen shock force that occurs when overspin slack is fully consumed.
  • the integrated pivoting paper guide 34 and fixed paper guide 58 improve blade cutting by preventing accumulation of toweling wrinkles. This arrangement also creates nearly 270 degrees of wrap on the toweling support roller between nip roller 32 and a second nip roller adjacent to the inner end of the fixed paper guide 58 which further improves the ability to cut a variety of toweling types by reducing the chance for toweling slippage on the toweling support roller.
  • a two stage spring action is incorporated by the use of coil springs and plastic springs and after initial damping begins plastic springs that are integrated into the pivoting paper guide engage a fixed mechanism (the lead end of the fixed paper guide) to apply additional spring force to the damping assembly as discussed above.

Claims (15)

  1. Abgabevorrichtung zum Abgeben von Papierhandtüchern von einer Rolle und zum Aufbringen von Dämpfungskräften auf das Papierhandtuch, wenn beim Ziehen des Papierhandtuchs während der Abgabe ein Überdrehstoß aufgenommen wird, wobei die Abgabevorrichtung umfasst:
    ein Gehäuse (10);
    einen Rollenträger (12), der mit dem Gehäuse (10) verbunden ist, um die Papierhandtuchrolle (14) zu befestigen und die Drehung der Papierhandtuchrolle (14) während der Ausgabe zu ermöglichen;
    eine drehbare Handtuchträgerrolle (20), die von der Rollenhalterung (12) beabstandet ist, wobei die drehbare Handtuchträgerrolle (20) Papierhandtuch von der Papierhandtuchrolle (14) aufnimmt und bei Drehung betätigt werden kann, um das Papierhandtuch auszugeben;
    eine schwenkbare Papierführung (34), die sich teilweise um die drehbare Handtuchträgerrolle (20) herum erstreckt und einen Papierweg für das um einen Abschnitt der drehbaren Handtuchträgerrolle (20) herumtransportierte Papier definiert;
    eine Andruckrolle (32), die von der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) getragen wird;
    und eine Federstruktur, die funktionell mit der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) verbunden ist, um eine Vorspannkraft auf die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) auszuüben und einen Walzenspalt zwischen der Andruckrolle (32) und der drehbaren Handtuchträgerrolle (20) zu bilden, die das Papierhandtuch aufnimmt;
    die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) und die Andruckrolle (32) so konfiguriert sind, dass sie von der drehbaren Handtuchträgerrolle (20) weg bewegt werden können;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Andruckrolle (32) eine Dämpfungsandruckrolle ist;
    dass die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) und die Dämpfungsandruckrolle (32) eine Dämpfungswirkung bereitstellen, wenn in dem Papiertuch zwischen der Dämpfungsandruckrolle (32) und der drehbaren Handtuchträgerrolle (20) während des Ziehens des Papiertuchs Spannkräfte einer vorbestimmten Größe erzeugt werden;
    und dass die Federstruktur eine erste Federstruktur (46) und eine zweite Federstruktur (54) umfasst, wobei die zweite Federstruktur betreibbar ist, um eine Vorspannkraft auszuüben, nachdem eine Vorspannkraft durch die erste Federstruktur ausgeübt worden ist.
  2. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
    zusätzlich eine gekrümmte feststehende Papierführung (58) aufweist, wobei die gekrümmte feststehende Papierführung (58) neben der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) angeordnet ist, wobei das Papierhandtuch eine Umschlingung von etwa 270 Grad um die Handtuchträgerrolle (20) bildet und sich unter und über die Enden der gekrümmten feststehenden Papierführung (58) und der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) hinaus erstreckt.
  3. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 2,
    wobei sich die erste Federstruktur zwischen der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) und dem Gehäuse (10) erstreckt.
  4. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 3,
    wobei die erste Federstruktur mindestens eine Spiralfeder (46) umfasst.
  5. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 4,
    wobei Schwenkstifte (44), die von der mindestens einen Spiralfeder (46) beabstandet sind, die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) mit dem Gehäuse (10) verbinden.
  6. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 3,
    wobei die zweite Federstruktur an einer Verbindungsstelle zwischen der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) und der gekrümmten festen Papierführung (58) angeordnet ist.
  7. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 6,
    wobei die zweite Federstruktur mindestens eine flexible Kunststofffeder (54) umfasst.
  8. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 7,
    wobei die mindestens eine flexible Kunststofffeder (54) in einer Aussparung (56) angeordnet ist, die durch die gekrümmte feste Papierführung (58) definiert ist.
  9. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 8,
    wobei die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) längliche Elemente aufweist, die sich in Eingriff mit der festen Papierführung (58) erstrecken, wobei ein distales Ende von mindestens einem der Elemente die mindestens eine flexible Kunststofffeder (54) aufweist.
  10. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 2,
    wobei die dämpfende Andruckrolle (32) und eine zweite Andruckrolle die Umschlingung auf der drehbaren Handtuchträgerrolle von etwa 270 Grad definieren.
  11. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 6,
    wobei die schwenkbare Papierführung (34) nicht direkt mit der festen Papierführung (58) verbunden ist, bis Kunststofffedern (54) die feste Papierführung (58) während einer Dämpfungsphase berühren.
  12. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 6,
    wobei die zweite Federstruktur eine Vielzahl von flexiblen Kunststofffedern (54) umfasst, deren distale Enden in die schwenkbare Pager-Führung (34) integriert und in Aussparungen (56) positioniert sind, die durch die feste Papierführung (58) definiert sind.
  13. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 2,
    wobei sich an der gekrümmten Unterseite der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) Rippen (36) befinden.
  14. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 3,
    wobei Achsstummel (40) an Enden von Spiralfedern (46) befestigt sind und die anderen Enden der Federn (46) mit den Teilen des Gehäuses (10) verbunden sind.
  15. Abgabevorrichtung nach Anspruch 6,
    wobei die dämpfende Andruckrolle (32) am distalen oder äußeren Ende der schwenkbaren Papierführung (34) drehbar gelagert ist.
