Description

Scheinwerfer für ein Kraftfahrzeug  Headlight for a motor vehicle
The invention relates to a headlight for a motor vehicle and a corresponding motor vehicle.
In order to improve the range of headlamps in motor vehicles, it is known from the prior art, in addition to main light modules, which serve to generate the low beam and high beam, to use a laser light module with high luminance. The laser light module is rigidly coupled to a main light module, so that only the same area of the light distribution is intensified in its intensity by the laser light module, even if the corresponding main light module is pivotable in the headlight.
The object of the invention is to provide a headlamp for a motor vehicle, with the adaptive light functions can be realized by means of a laser light module.
This object is achieved by the headlight according to claim 1. Further developments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.
The headlight according to the invention is intended for a motor vehicle. In particular, it is a headlight for a motor vehicle. The headlamp comprises a number of main light modules (ie one or more main light modules) for generating a main light distribution for low beam and high beam. Depending on the activation of the headlamp, the generated main light distribution can be either the low beam or the high beam. The individual main light modules can each be provided for generating both the low beam and the high beam or even for the production of the low beam or the high beam. Nevertheless, the whole of all the main light modules by appropriate driving generates a desired low beam or a desired high beam, regardless of whether a single main light module is provided only for the generation of low beam or high beam or both for the generation of low beam and high beam. The headlight according to the invention further comprises a laser light module comprising one or more laser diodes for generating a laser light distribution in addition to the main light distribution. The headlamp fer may optionally include a plurality of such laser light modules. Preferably, however, only a single laser light module is provided.
The headlight according to the invention is characterized in that in its operation the laser light distribution is decoupled from the main light distribution and is movable relative to this main light distribution and is preferably pivotable. In other words, it is made possible by the construction of the headlamp according to the invention that it can be controlled by means of a control device such that a movement of the laser light distribution is decoupled from and relative to the main light distribution.
The headlight according to the invention has the advantage that, regardless of the positioning of the main light distribution, certain areas in front of the vehicle can be illuminated depending on the situation with a higher light intensity. In this way, by means of the laser light module, an adaptive light distribution can be generated in addition to the main light distribution in the spotlight.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the headlight according to the invention, the laser light module or possibly only a part of the laser light module is movable relative to the number of main light modules by means of an actuator to thereby a movement and in particular a pivoting of the laser light distribution decoupled from the main light distribution and relative to this cause. It is thus achieved by means of a suitable actuator, which converts electrical current into mechanical movement, the movement of the laser light distribution. Alternatively or additionally, the laser light module may also include a micro-optical system, which causes a movement of the laser light distribution decoupled from the main light distribution and relative thereto. The micro-optical system may e.g. in a conventional manner comprise an array of micromirrors.
In a further preferred variant of the invention, one or more of the main light modules and in particular all the main light modules are LED light modules which each comprise one or more LEDs (eg 5 to 30 LEDs) for generating the main light distribution. As a result, a main light distribution with good range can be generated. In a further preferred embodiment, one or more of the main light modules and in particular all main light modules are segmented light modules which in operation respectively generate a light distribution and in particular a high beam of segments which can be switched on and off. Preferably, such segmented light modules are realized by the LED light modules described above. With the segmented light modules certain areas of the light distribution can be recessed depending on the situation in a suitable manner, for example, to avoid the glare of road users.
In a further, particularly preferred embodiment, one or more of the main light modules and in particular all main light modules are rigidly mounted in the headlight. As a result, the size of the headlamp is reduced.
In a further variant of the headlamp according to the invention, the headlamp comprises two main light modules, which are arranged side by side when the headlamp is installed in the motor vehicle in the direction of the vehicle width, wherein the laser light module is located in the direction of the vehicle width between or next to the main light modules. Preferably, the headlamp comprises exactly two main light modules and no further main light modules. Nonetheless, the headlamp may also include only one main light module or more than two main light modules.
Depending on the design, different light functions can be realized with the headlight according to the invention. In a preferred embodiment, the headlamp is designed (ie, controllable with a control device) in such a way that, in an operating mode of the headlamp, those areas of the main light distribution are amplified which do not lead to dazzling of other road users. Alternatively or additionally, the headlight according to the invention is designed and controlled in this sense with a control device such that one or more such objects are illuminated in an operating mode of the headlamp, which lie in the emission direction of the headlamp in front of this. As a result, the driver of the motor vehicle is pointed to a risk of collision. In addition to the headlight described above, the invention relates to a motor vehicle, which comprises one or more headlamps according to the invention or one or more preferred variants of the headlamp according to the invention.
An embodiment of the invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying Fig. 1. This figure shows a schematic representation of a variant of a headlight according to the invention.
In Fig. 1 is shown schematically as an embodiment of the invention, the left front headlight 100 of a (not shown) motor vehicle in plan view of the front of the motor vehicle. The right front headlamp is constructed mirror-symmetrically identical to the left front headlamp and both headlamps are used in operation to generate the high beam and the low beam in front of the motor vehicle. For controlling the various light modules of the headlamp 100 described below, a control device, not shown, is provided. In this case, the control device processes information from other sensors, which detect, for example, the light of oncoming traffic or detect objects on the road in front of the motor vehicle.
In known manner, the headlight 100 includes an inner main light module 1 and an externa ßeres main light module 1 ', which are indicated by hatched rectangles and are rigidly installed in the headlight. In the embodiment described here, both main light modules 1 and 1 'each serve to generate dipped beam and high beam. Both main light modules are LED light modules, each comprising a plurality of LEDs, the light is thrown on a projection optics in the respective main light module on the street. By activating certain LEDs by means of the above-mentioned control device, only the low-beam distribution can be generated or the high beam can be switched on. The main light modules are also segmented light modules, with which the activated high beam is divided into several on or off switchable segments, the segments in the light distribution represent vertical bars. The segments are switched on or off by activating or deactivating assigned LEDs by means of the control device. In this way, depending on the traffic situation, certain areas in the light distribution can be left out in order, for example, to avoid the glare of road users. In addition to the two main light modules 1 and 1 'comprises the headlight of Fig. 1 in a conventional manner two daytime running light modules 2 and 2', which are turned on activation of the daytime running light and each comprise a light guide LED unit. The headlight 100 further comprises a turn signal above the light modules 1, 1 ', 2 and 2', which is designated by the reference numeral 3.
The headlight of Fig. 1 is characterized in that in addition to the main light modules 1 and 1 ', a laser light module 4 is provided, which is schematically indicated by a dotted square and generates white laser light. The laser light module is arranged between the two main light modules 1 and 1 ', but can also be located at any other position in the headlight, e.g. be positioned to the left of the inner main light module 1 or right next to the externa ßeren main light module 1 '. In contrast to conventional headlamps, the laser light module 4 is pivotable independently of the main light modules 1 and 1 'in the horizontal and vertical directions, as indicated by the double arrows P and P'. For pivoting the laser light module, an actuator (not shown) is provided, which converts electrical current into a mechanical movement of the laser light module 4. The actuators can be realized for example via a servomotor. The actuation of the actuator is done with the above-mentioned control device.
In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the laser light module 4 comprises a single laser diode for generating its laser light distribution. Optionally, a plurality of laser diodes may be installed in the laser light module 4. In addition, the laser light generated by the laser diode is thrown directly on a projection optics reflector and lens on the street. In a modified embodiment, the laser light module can also be a fiber-based light module in which the laser light generated via the laser diode is directed by means of a light guide to a corresponding exit location on the projection optics.
By the decoupled from the main light modules pivotability of the laser light module 4, specific light areas in the main light distribution or au ßerhalb the main light distribution can be illuminated with high intensity as needed. In a modified embodiment, this function can also be achieved by means of a laser light module installed rigidly in the headlight, in which case the laser light distribution is moved, for example via a known micromirror array without relative movement of the laser light module with respect to the remaining headlight.
The embodiment of the invention described above has a number of advantages. In particular, the light distribution generated by the main light modules is easily combined with an adaptive laser light distribution, the position of the generated laser light distribution being independent of the position of the remaining light distribution. In this way, many different lighting functions can be realized. In particular, certain areas in the high beam can be amplified, which do not lead to glare of road users. In contrast, areas that dazzle other road users are left out by appropriately switching off segments in the segmented main light modules.
In addition, certain detected objects in front of the motor vehicle, such as pedestrians or animals, can be illuminated with the laser light distribution in order to thereby warn the driver. Likewise, the laser light distribution can be used to realize a cornering light, in which by means of the laser light, the interior of a busy curve is illuminated. In addition, only areas of the low beam can be enhanced with the high beam switched off by the adaptive laser light distribution. The use of the additional laser light module also has the advantage that the range of the headlight and its contrast are increased. Likewise, the space is reduced compared to conventional headlamps, in which the main light modules are pivotable.
