Definitions

  • the invention relates to a holding adapter for fixing command and signaling devices, in particular pushbuttons, to a front panel.
  • the invention also relates to an arrangement with a command or signaling device and such a holding adapter.
  • command or signaling devices are, for example, switches or buttons, such as pushbuttons, which optionally have a display functionality.
  • the command or signaling devices are typically installed in control panels, control panels, control cabinet doors or housing covers.
  • Retaining adapters are typically used to fix command or signaling devices to a front panel, such as a panel or a wall.
  • command or signaling devices are modular, they consist of an actuator and a fastening part with a thread.
  • the command or signaling device is usually guided from a front through a hole in the front panel and mounted from the rear by means of a fastening element, such as a ring nut.
  • the command or signaling devices can be actuated and act on a controller.
  • An electrical connection between the command or signaling device and the controller is typically made via connection terminals.
  • An object on which the invention is based is to specify a concept for a holding adapter which contributes to the flexible installation of command and signaling devices.
  • a holding adapter for fixing control and signaling devices, in particular pushbuttons, on a front panel.
  • the holding adapter has a housing with a first recess and a mounting plate mounted in the housing with a second recess.
  • the second recess is arranged in alignment with the first recess, so that a command or signaling device can be guided through the two recesses in an axial direction.
  • the mounting plate is mounted in the housing so that it can be displaced between a first end position and a second end position in the axial direction relative to the housing, so that when a control or signaling device is fixed to the front panel, the mounting plate moves relative to the housing depending on the thickness of the front panel movable and a height adjustment depending on the thickness of the front panel can be achieved.
  • the holding adapter can also be called a fastening device or adapter device.
  • a command or signaling device is attached to the front panel using the holding adapter.
  • the front panel is typically a sheet metal or a wall of a switch cabinet or the like.
  • the mounting plate is set up to interact mechanically with the command or signaling device when it is fixed.
  • the command or signaling device is guided through the front panel and through the holding adapter, ie the mounting plate and the housing.
  • the device is then fixed against the holding adapter, for example against the housing, and thus against the front panel using a fastening element.
  • the control or signaling device is combined with a base body and the mounting plate.
  • the base body hits against the mounting plate.
  • Latter is mechanically mounted in the housing, so that the holding force applied by the fastening element is transmitted via the housing to the front panel.
  • the holding adapter can be quickly fixed to the front panel and a variable bearing point can be achieved. This flexibility makes it possible to compensate for the thickness of the front panel. Typical front panel thicknesses range from 1 to 6 mm. The holding adapter consequently enables stroke compensation for different thicknesses of the front panel.
  • a further advantage is that the holding adapter can only be tightened with a few turns of a fixing or fastening means, such as a ring nut. It is no longer necessary to laboriously adjust the front panel thickness by turning the fixing device for a long time.
  • Another advantage is that by using different mounting plates, different command or signaling devices can be taken into account. It is not necessary to keep different holding adapters, in particular different housings, for different control or signaling devices. It is sufficient, for example, to adapt the mounting plate accordingly.
  • the mounting plate is mounted in the housing, for example by means of a latching mechanism, that is to say it is held in the housing so that it cannot be lost.
  • the mounting plate is guided between two stops in the housing.
  • the mounting plate can also be guided in a displaceable manner by means of guide elements such as ribs or the like.
  • the housing has a latching mechanism that interacts with the mounting plate for height adjustment.
  • a locking mechanism is, for example, a ratchet mechanism.
  • the mounting plate thus latches in the appropriate position relative to the housing.
  • the displacement and latching of the mounting plate can take place prior to the fixing to the front panel, but also during the fixing, for example the fixing by means of the fixing element.
  • the mounting plate is locked in a corresponding position, for example, when tightening and screwing the signaling or command device to the front panel.
  • a spring element is mounted in the housing, which interacts with the mounting plate, so that the mounting plate can be displaced from the first end position against a spring force of the spring element in the axial direction relative to the housing.
  • the spring element is arranged and mounted in the housing in such a way that it exerts a force on the mounting plate that acts in the direction of the first end position. If no additional force acts on the mounting plate, for example through interaction with the command device, the mounting plate is pressed into the first end position. In this unmounted or original state, the mounting plate is thus held in the first position on the housing by means of the spring element.
  • the mounting plate can also be referred to as a spring plate.
  • the spring element is designed as a compression spring.
  • two or more spring elements can also be mounted in the housing.
  • a uniform force distribution can be achieved, for example.
  • the housing has an anti-twist nose for positive interaction with the front panel, which can be optionally removed.
  • the anti-twist nose can be removed in such a way that it no longer interacts with a corresponding recess in the front panel.
  • the anti-twist lug serves to prevent the holding adapter from twisting with respect to the front panel when the command or signaling device is in the mounted or fixed state.
  • the anti-twist lug engages in a corresponding recess in the front panel in a form-fitting manner, so that at least one movement of the holding adapter in a plane parallel to the front panel is blocked in the assembled state. Due to the fact that the anti-rotation lug is optionally designed to be removable, a customer can, depending on the design of the front panel, use the anti-rotation lug or dispense with a form-fitting anti-rotation protection.
  • the anti-twist nose can be, for example, a metal nose or a nose made of plastic, for example by means of injection molding.
  • the anti-twist lug is, for example, formed in one piece with the housing or is arranged and fastened to it as a separate element.
  • the anti-twist lug can be broken off or can be bent elastically against a spring force.
  • a predetermined breaking point or the like is provided, for example. This makes it possible to break off the anti-twist nose manually.
  • the anti-twist nose can also be designed to be broken off by a tool.
  • the anti-twist nose can, for example, be folded over or pulled back or bent back.
  • a spring element can be provided which interacts with the anti-twist nose.
  • the anti-twist lug is designed to be elastic or is arranged elastically on the housing.
  • the anti-twist nose is formed as a part that is separate from the housing and latches in a corresponding recess in the housing.
  • the recess is positively inserted into the corresponding recess of the housing and latched therein.
  • the removable anti-twist nose can also be provided independently of the previously described configurations of the holding adapter.
  • the anti-twist lug can also be provided with holding adapters that do not allow the height of a front panel to be adjusted.
  • the housing has at least one holding mandrel, which is designed for at least non-positive interaction with the front panel.
  • the holding mandrel is understood to mean an element which has a pointed shape or a shape which tapers towards a point. In the fixed state of a control or signaling device, a holding force acts on the front panel via the housing and the holding pin.
  • the retaining mandrel bores into the front panel.
  • a force can be transmitted to the front panel via the holding mandrel, which ensures that the holding adapter is fixed to the front panel in a force-fitting manner and/or at the same time in a form-fitting manner.
  • an anti-twist protection is implemented analogously to the above.
  • the holding mandrel is made from a metal material or as an injection molded part.
  • the holding mandrel is a screw, formed as a turned part or formed by bending a metal sheet. For example, edges of a metal sheet are bent over to form the holding mandrel.
  • two or more holding mandrels can also be provided. This contributes to a more even distribution of force when fixing the command or signaling device.
  • a material hardness of the retaining mandrel is greater than a material hardness of the front panel. This contributes to the adhesion. In particular, it is ensured that when a corresponding holding force is applied, the anti-twist protection is ensured.
  • an arrangement which has a command or signaling device, a front panel with an opening and a holding adapter according to one of the configurations described above.
  • the arrangement can also be referred to as an installation system or installation unit.
  • the command or signaling device is guided from a front side of the front panel through the opening in the front panel and via the holding adapter on a rear side of the front panel attached.
  • the command or signaling device interacts with the displaceable mounting plate of the holding adapter in such a way that a height adjustment is made depending on the thickness of the front panel.
  • the command or signaling device is guided through the opening in the front panel and through the retaining adapter, i.e. through the mounting plate and the opening in the housing, with a fastener such as a ring nut then being screwed onto a base body of the command or signaling device, which applies a force to the Exercises holding adapter and screwed it against the front panel from the back.
  • the base body of the command or signaling device has a further stop which, in the mounted state or during mounting, strikes the mounting plate in such a way that the latter is displaced relative to the housing of the holding adapter in accordance with the thickness of the front panel.
  • the control or signaling device can thus be installed easily, regardless of the thickness of the front panel, without the need for different holding adapters for different thicknesses.
  • the rear side of the front panel is provided with a coating made of an elastic and/or foamed material in an area in which the front panel interacts at least in a non-positive manner with a retaining mandrel of the housing.
  • a frictional force or adhesive force is increased when the holding adapter is fixed in a non-positive manner via the holding mandrel on the housing.
  • the front panel in the said area and/or the housing are provided with a material or a coating with increased surface roughness for the non-positive interaction. The roughness is in comparison to the front panel itself resp. the housing increased.
  • sandpaper is applied to the front panel and/or the housing.

  • the command device 2 which is a pushbutton in the exemplary embodiment, has a rosette 6 and a cylindrical base body 7 adjoining it. As shown in the exemplary embodiment, the base body 7 can in turn be functionally and/or mechanically subdivided.
  • the base body 7 has an externally threaded section for screw attachment to the front panel 3.
  • the command device 2 is guided along an axial direction R into a holding adapter 9 via a corresponding opening 8 in the front panel 3 that is adapted to the command device 2 in terms of shape.
  • the holding adapter 9 is also suitably adapted in terms of its shape to the command device 2, for example to the base body 2, and is set up to accommodate the command device 2 and securely fasten it to the front panel.
  • the holding adapter 9 also has the function that other command or signaling devices can also be fixed to the front panel, regardless of the design of the front panel 3 itself.
  • command device 2 is screwed from the rear with a fastening element 10, in the exemplary embodiment a ring nut or a threaded ring, against the holding adapter 9 and above it against the front panel 3.
