Description

The invention relates to a wide-belt sanding device for machining preferably panel-shaped workpieces, and to a method.

Stand derTechnikState of the art

In the field of wide-belt sanders, especially in the case of wide-belt sanders used in the trade sector, the operator of the wide-belt sander is usually responsible for handling the workpiece, which can lead to the tool of the wide-belt sander not being evenly worn over the time the tool is in use. Here, the engagement time is the time that the tool was already engaged. Uneven wear of the tool can prevent a consistent surface quality of the workpieces to be machined.

Furthermore, partial (one-sided) wear of a tool can further accelerate the wear of the tool and, in the worst case, lead to damage to the tool and possibly to the workpiece being machined at the moment.

For example, in the case of wide-belt sanders, as a specific example of a wide-belt sander, it is generally known that the individual workpieces to be machined often do not occupy the full width of the wide-belt sander. This means that when such a workpiece is machined, only a certain part of the abrasive (abrasive belt) is used and thus worn out, with the remaining part of the abrasive being unused. This leads to the need for the operator to distribute the workpieces to be processed over the entire width of the wide belt sander and over the entire engagement time of the abrasive (abrasive belt) in such a way that the abrasive is worn almost evenly.

As an aid disclosed, for example, the DE 199 26 946 A1 , which relates to a device for pneumatic position control of a workpiece in relation to a predetermined workpiece arrangement in a workpiece holder, an LED display that uses color coding of the fields to indicate whether the workpiece is correctly placed in the workpiece holder or not.

Furthermore, as prior art, for example, the DE 20 2011 101 666 U1 is known, which describes a plate processing system with a control device and a light signal device coupled to the control device in terms of signaling technology, the light signal device comprising a large number of LEDs. By appropriately controlling the LEDs, an operator can be shown an area in which a workpiece is to be placed. The current position of a saw unit belonging to the dividing device can also be displayed.

Also describes the DE 100 41 925 A1 a method and an apparatus for grinding a workpiece with a rotating abrasive. For this purpose, the workpiece is fixed on a workpiece carrier and can be fed by a feed movement. Deviating from the direction of the feed movement, the workpiece carrier is set in an oscillating movement, resulting in a superimposed engagement movement. The changing direction of engagement of the abrasive, which is designed as an abrasive belt, on the workpiece leads to a significant improvement in the surface finish.

Other related techniques are in the U.S. 5,327,653 A , which is aimed at an electromagnetic linear gauge for measuring workpiece miter lengths, GB 1 272 994 A , which describes a grinder and U.S.A. 4,148,159 , which also concerns a grinding machine. Furthermore, in US 6,634,926 B1 describes a monitoring system for use in combination with a wide belt abrasive surface finisher and an array of individual axially spaced signal generating workpiece sensors operatively positioned across the width of the belt, each of the sensors generating a signal in response to the presence of a workpiece. The features of the preamble of claim 1 are off US-A-6,634,926 famous.

One of the core ideas of the present invention is to use a light signal display device to visually indicate to an operator of the wide belt sander the state of wear of a tool of the wide belt sander and/or an advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined in the wide belt sander.

Using the proposed light signal display device, the current state of wear of a tool and/or an advantageous insertion position of a workpiece to be machined using the wide-belt sanding device can therefore be displayed to an operator of the wide-belt sanding device in a simple and reliable manner. As a result, the operator can be provided with a means which enables the operator to wear the tool almost uniformly over the time it is in use, which contributes to a longer service life of the tool and a constant and high surface quality of the workpiece being machined.

According to one aspect of the present invention, the wide-belt sanding machine, in particular wide-belt sanding machine for processing preferably panel-shaped workpieces, which preferably consist at least in sections of wood, derived timber product and/or plastic, has a control device and at least one light signal display device which displays information on the broad-band sander in such a way that that the information displayed by the light signal display device can be seen or perceived by an operator, with the control device being set up to determine the current state of wear of the at least one tool of the wide belt sander via the intervention time of at least one tool of the wide belt sander based on a summation of the determined wear of the tool , The wear of the tool based on detected length dimensions of the machined workpieces, a detected insertion position of the respec gene workpieces and existing processing parameters is determined. The wear status of the at least one tool of the wide belt sander and/or an advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined in the wide belt sander can be visually displayed to the operator by means of the light signal display device.

In this way, a light signal display device is provided with which, in a wide belt sanding machine, the state of wear of the sanding belt or an advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined can be visually displayed to the operator in a simple and reliable manner. This is particularly advantageous in the case of wide-belt sanders, since, as already explained above, the part handling in wide-belt sanders used in the trade sector mostly entirely the responsibility of the operator of the machine, which requires the operator to evenly distribute the parts to be machined over the full width of the wide belt sander and over the entire engagement time of the sanding belt in order to wear the sanding belt evenly.

The light signal display device according to the invention can support the operator here, since it can always visually indicate to the operator the current state of wear of the grinding belt and/or the advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined in a simple and reliable manner.

This makes it possible to evenly distribute the wear on the sanding belt over the entire width of the wide-belt sanding machine, thereby increasing the sanding belt's engagement time and ensuring a consistent surface quality of the workpieces to be machined.

The wide-belt sanding machine preferably includes a conveyor device, in particular a belt, chain or belt conveyor, which is set up to move the workpiece to the machining tool and, if necessary, also to convey it out of the wide-belt sander.

The light display device is preferably provided on an insertion area of the wide belt sander, where the workpiece to be machined can be inserted into the wide belt sander and/or can be moved to the tool by means of a conveyor device. The insertion area is usually a workpiece holder into which the workpiece can be inserted and on which a conveyor device for moving the workpiece can be arranged. The light signal display device is preferably arranged in the vertical direction above the loading area. However, there is also the possibility of displaying the information in the loading area, in particular vertically above the loading area.

It is thus possible to provide the operator of the wide-belt sander with information about the state of wear of the tool and/or the advantageous insertion position of the current workpiece directly on site, i.e. directly at the point where the operator has to insert the workpiece to be machined into the wide-belt sander display in a simple and safe way.

According to a preferred embodiment, a workpiece is picked up in an insertion area by a conveyor device, such as a belt, belt or chain conveyor, and is moved to a tool of the wide-belt sanding machine.

Furthermore, the light signal display device can be designed in the form of a display strip, which extends along the insertion area and, in particular, completely covers it. However, there is also the possibility of displaying or projecting the information in such a way that it extends partially or completely along the loading area. In this context, a display bar is to be understood as meaning a narrow, elongated display that extends along the loading area. Since the workpieces are generally placed horizontally and flat in the loading area of the processing machine, it makes sense to also provide the display list horizontally and in particular above the loading area. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the display bar extends continuously from one side area of the insertion area to another side area of the insertion area, i.e. the display bar completely or essentially completely covers the insertion area. The light signal display device can also be formed by several display bars.

According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the light signal display device can use different colors to indicate to the operator the state of wear of the tool and/or the advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined. The display is in particular based on the colors green, yellow and red, with green for a good condition of the tool or a good insertion position, yellow for an average condition of the tool or an average insertion position and red for a poor condition of the tool or a bad insertion position is used. It is also possible to use color gradients for better visualization.

Furthermore, the control device preferably has a workpiece detection device, by means of which the length dimensions of the workpiece and a loading position of the workpiece in the loading area of the wide belt sander can be detected, in particular can already be detected before the loading into the loading area. The length dimensions of the workpiece to be machined are usually the width and the length of the workpiece. Furthermore, the insertion position is to be understood as meaning the position of the workpiece at which the operator of the wide belt sander has inserted the workpiece in the insertion area.

In this way, it is possible to show the operator of the wide-belt sander the advantageous insertion position of the current workpiece before the workpiece to be machined is inserted into the insertion area of the wide-belt sander. Which allows the operator to immediately place the current workpiece to the advantageous loading position in the wide belt sander, making unnecessary re-positioning or moving of the workpiece obsolete.

Furthermore, the control device is set up to determine the state of wear of the tool via the intervention time of the tool and to display it to the operator using the light signal display device.

According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the control device determines the state of wear of the tool over the engagement time of the tool, the control device using the recorded length dimensions of the machined workpieces and their respective insertion position in the wide belt sander (position in the insertion area) and the respective processing parameters, such as e.g. Machining time, machining forces, grinding time, contact pressure etc. determines the state of wear. This means that the control unit uses the parameters mentioned to calculate wear on the tool, using empirically determined empirical values or simulated values to determine the wear, and the wear determined in each case are summed up in order to determine a current state of wear. The determination of the state of wear will be discussed in detail later.

Furthermore, the advantageous insertion position of the workpiece to be machined can be determined by means of the control device and based on the determined state of wear of the tool and based on the recorded length dimensions of the workpiece to be machined, which can be displayed to the operator using the light signal display device.

There is preferably also the possibility of setting up the control in such a way that the advantageous insertion position is determined stochastically or chaotically. This means that the insertion position is not determined on the basis of the state of wear of the tool, but is distributed stochastically or chaotically over the machining time of the workpiece over the tool surface, so that, statistically speaking, the tool is worn evenly over the machining time. Furthermore, the light signal display device can have an inspection device, by means of which a surface condition, such as a grain direction, of the workpiece to be machined can be determined, and according to the determined surface condition, an advantageous loading position and/or advantageous loading orientation can be displayed to the operator using the light signal display device.

The light display device can preferably be designed as a projection unit, in particular in the form of a projector.

According to another embodiment of the present invention, the light display device is made using an LED bar, an OLED bar, and the like formed, wherein a resolution, ie, the distance between individual display elements or display sections of the light display device or the division of the display sections in the projected area is less than 5 cm, in particular less than 2 cm. Preferably, the light display device is formed using a strip of spaced LEDs, with the resolution corresponding to the spacing between the individual LEDs (display elements). Furthermore, the light display device preferably has a 24-bit resolution with which color gradients can be displayed.

Furthermore, the at least one tool (WZ) of the wide belt sander can be a sanding belt, a sanding roller, a polishing roller, a disc brush or the like. If there are several tools, they can include one of the tools mentioned. More preferably, if there are several tools, different ones of the tools mentioned are combined, for example one or more calibrating roller(s), one or more grinding belts, one or more polishing rollers, one or more disk brushes.

Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for operating a wide belt sander, in particular the wide belt sander described above, the method comprising: detecting length dimensions of the workpiece to be machined, detecting the insertion position of the workpiece to be machined in an insertion area of the wide belt sander, determining wear on the tool based on the recorded length dimensions of the recorded insertion position and available processing parameters, such as processing time, processing forces, grinding time, or contact pressure, determining the current state of wear of the tool of the wide belt grinding machine over the intervention time of the tool based on a summation of determined wear of the tool, displaying the determined state of wear of the tool by means of a light signal display device, and/or displays an advantageous insertion position of the to edit the workpiece in the wide-belt sanding machine by means of the light signal display device, with the advantageous insertion position being determined based on the determined state of wear of the tool or stochastically or chaotically.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the method described above further comprises checking whether a state of wear of the tool has already been determined if
  • yes, indication of the state of wear by means of the light signal indicating device,
  • no, indicating a state of wear corresponding to the state of a new tool by means of the light signal indicating device.

Ermitteln eines aktuellen Abnutzungszustands durch Summieren eines vorliegenden Abnutzungszustands mit der ermittelten Abnutzung, und Speichern des ermittelten aktuellen Abnutzungszustands.determining a current state of wear by summing a present state of wear with the determined state of wear, and storing the determined current state of wear.

The method can also be used to determine the current wear status of the tool via the intervention time of the tool based on a summation of the determined wear on the tool, with the respective wear on the tool being determined at the time when a new workpiece entered the loading area of the wide belt sander was inserted.

The method preferably also includes: detecting the length dimensions of the workpiece to be machined before the workpiece to be machined is placed in the loading area, checking the current state of wear of the tool, determining the advantageous loading position based on the current state of wear of the tool and the measured length dimensions of the workpiece to be machined, and displaying the advantageous loading position by means of the light signal display device.

Detaillierte Beschreibung bevorzugter AusführungsformenDetailed description of preferred embodiments

Preferred embodiments of the present invention are described below with reference to the attached figures. Further variants and modifications of individual features mentioned in this context can each be combined with one another in order to form new embodiments.

1 Figure 12 shows a schematic perspective view of an embodiment of the wide belt sander according to the present invention.

Once again 1 can be removed, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a wide belt sander 2 has at least one light signal display device 10 which is provided on the wide belt sander 2 in such a way that it can be easily perceived by an operator of the wide belt sander 2 . In order to be easily perceptible for the operator, the light signal display device 10 is preferably arranged in the vertical direction above a loading area 4 of the wide belt sander 2, as shown. Thus, during the process of inserting a workpiece W to be machined into the insertion area 4, the light signal display device 10 is directly visible to the operator and can therefore be easily perceived. However, there is also the possibility of not providing the light signal display device directly on the loading area 4, but rather projecting the information, e.g.

Of the 1 can also be seen that the light signal display device 10 is preferably formed in the form of a display bar 11, which is shown in FIG Embodiment extends completely along the loading area 4. That is, from a right-hand side area of the loading area 4, as shown, to a left-hand side area of the loading area 4. Because the light signal display device 10 extends completely along the loading area 4, it is ensured that the light signal display device 10 covers the entire length of the tool WZ.

In the 1 a wide-belt sander 2 is shown as a specific example of a wide-belt sander 2 . Correspondingly, in the illustrated embodiment, the light signal display device 10 covers the entire length of the sanding belt of the wide belt sanding machine 2 . Accordingly, it is possible to use the light signal display device 10 to indicate to an operator a state of wear of the abrasive tape over the entire length of the abrasive tape. It is also possible using the light signal display device 10 to indicate to the operator of the wide belt sander 2 an advantageous insertion position EPv of a workpiece W to be machined in relation to the insertion area 4 .

Like in the 1 indicated and in the Figures 2a-2c further illustrated, in the proposed light signal display device 10, the determined state of wear of the tool WZ and/or the advantageous insertion position EPv is displayed to the operator by means of different colors. In order to make the light signal display device 10 self-explanatory, the known colors green (G), yellow (Y) and red (R) are preferably used ( Figure 2a ).

Of the Figure 2b it can be seen that there is also the possibility of designing the light signal display device 10 using two or more display bars 11, which are preferably arranged one above the other. Accordingly, it is possible to use the upper display bar OL to show the operator the advantageous insertion position EPv, and at the same time to use the lower display bar UL to show the operator the state of wear of the tool WZ. The individual display bars 11 are in turn preferably formed from a number of rows of LEDs, with the individual rows extending along the insertion area 4 .

As also the Figure 2c As can be seen from the light signal display device 10, it is also possible to display urgent or important information such as a malfunction of the wide belt sander 2 and the like to the operator, thus improving the operability of the wide belt sander 2 will. It is also possible here, among other things, to display recommendations for action, status information and the like to the operator.

Coming back to 1 , it can also be seen from this that the wide belt sanding machine 2 has a control device 2 and a workpiece detection device 30 . By means of the workpiece detection device 30, which in the exemplary embodiment shown is arranged on the outside of the wide belt sander 2 in such a way that it can completely monitor the loading area 4, with which the loading position EP of a workpiece W, which the operator has placed in the loading area 4, can be detected. Furthermore, the workpiece detection device 30 is preferably designed in such a way that it can not only monitor the insertion area 4 but is also able to monitor an area upstream of the insertion area 4 . This enables a workpiece W to be machined to be detected at an early stage, so that the advantageous loading position EPv can be displayed to the operator before the workpiece W is loaded into the loading area 4 .

However, inductive sensors, ultrasonic sensors and optical sensors can also be used. Furthermore, the workpiece detection device 30 can not only have a camera as shown, but if necessary can also be formed from a plurality of cameras and/or a plurality of different sensors.

The use of a camera offers the advantage that, if desired, a surface condition of the workpiece W, such as a grain direction, can be recorded. In this case, the camera also forms part of an inspection device 40. Further information (data) can be determined in advance by the workpiece detection device, such as workpiece type, workpiece number and the like.

Figur 3 zeigt ein Ablaufdiagram, welches die einzelnen Schritte einer Ausführungsform des Verfahrens zum Betreiben einer Breitbandschleifmaschine 2 gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung darstellt. figure 3 FIG. 12 shows a flow chart showing the individual steps of an embodiment of the method for operating a wide belt sanding machine 2 according to the present invention.

In step one of the method for operating a wide belt sanding machine 2 , length dimensions X, Y of the workpiece W are detected using the workpiece detection device 30 and input to the control device 20 .

In method step two, an insertion position EP of the workpiece to be machined is detected using sensors in the wide belt sander 2, in particular in the loading area 4 and/or using the workpiece detection device 30.

Method step three checks whether wear status data is already available. That is, whether a workpiece W has already been placed in the wide belt sander and machined and therefore the tool WZ has already been partially worn out. If yes, continue with step 4. If there is no wear condition data, go to step 4a.

In method step four, the present state of wear of the tool WZ is displayed to the operator by means of the light signal display device 10, which gives the operator the opportunity to optimally insert the workpiece W in the wide belt sander 2, so that the tool WZ is used evenly over the entire intervention time and is therefore worn will. In method step four, it is also possible to indicate an advantageous insertion position EPv of the workpiece W to the operator.

In the parallel method step 4a, the light signal display device 10 indicates to the operator 10 that there is no wear status data. This means that the tool WZ is usually a new tool WZ for which no state of wear has yet been determined. Generally this is signaled by a solid green light signal indicator, which means that there is no wear on the tool WZ.

The two alternative method steps 4 and 4a are followed by step 5, in which a current state of wear is determined. The state of wear is a summation of individual wear of the tool WZ, which is determined when a workpiece W is machined. The wear is determined here based on the recorded length dimensions X, Y and the recorded insertion position EP as well as existing processing parameters. Based on the length dimensions X, Y and the recorded insertion position EP, it can be determined which specific area of the tool WZ is affected by the machining that has been carried out stressed and thus worn out. Furthermore, based on the existing machining parameters, such as machining time, machining forces, grinding time, contact pressure, etc., the respective load or wear of the tool WZ can be determined. All in all, it can be determined specifically which area of the tool WZ is worn to what extent.

It is also possible to determine the total wear on a machine with several units (with different tools WZ). It is therefore possible that certain grinding units are disengaged when processing a specific workpiece W, e.g. one of the following grinding devices: one or more calibrating rollers (steel roller and rubber-coated roller) and/or a fine grinding unit (cross belt and H unit). A common total wear is determined across several different tools and a total wear state and/or an advantageous insertion position EPv, which takes into account the total wear state, is displayed to the operator by means of the light signal display device 10 .

It is also possible to display the degree of wear of individual grinding units separately.

Furthermore, it is also possible to provide a separate light display device, in particular an LED bar, for each unit in a wide belt sanding machine 2 with several units, such as in a wide belt sanding machine with four units. The four units can be, for example, two calibration rollers and two grinding belts (pre-grinding and fine grinding). This creates the possibility of displaying to the operator a determined degree of wear and an advantageous insertion position EPv for each individual unit.

For example, the degree of wear of all aggregates can first be displayed individually to an operator at the same time. If the operating mode is now switched on and/or a workpiece is inserted which is to be processed by three units, for example, the operator can be shown total wear and an advantageous insertion position EPv, taking into account the degrees of wear of all three units. For this purpose, the degrees of wear of the three units are offset against each other and a total value is formed.

However, there is also the option of showing the operator all three degrees of wear separately and leaving it up to the operator where to ultimately insert the workpiece.

Furthermore, it is possible to implement the same function using just one light display device; in this case, individual horizontal lines of the light display device, in particular the LED strip, would display the different degrees of wear.

Next, in step six, the determined current state of wear of the tool WZ of the wide belt sanding machine 2 is stored in a database so that the next time a new workpiece W is machined, it can be accessed. The method for operating a wide belt sanding machine 2 ends with step six and returns to the starting position (step 1).
