Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to a dishwasher with improved safety.
- In dishwashers considerable amount of water is used to perform the cleaning process. Water is supplied from the mains, heated by means of a heater disposed in the dishwasher, and sprayed into the washing tub. By means of the hot water, dirt is removed from the dishes and the dishes are disinfected. The dishes are cleaned by using detergent. The water used for the washing process passes through a filter disposed at the base of the washing tub to be discharged. During the discharge process, a sump disposed under the washing tub is used. The sump is close to electronic components. Excess water accumulating on the sump due to a problem occurred in the dishwasher spreads in an uncontrolled manner. When the electronic components contact the water, the dishwasher may malfunction and risk of fire may occur.
- In the state of the art European Patent Document No. EP2106731, a dishwasher comprising a sump that enables the water to be directed is disclosed.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher wherein excess water accumulating on the sump is enabled to be directed.
- The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body, a washing tub that is disposed in the body, and a sump that is disposed under the washing tub. A channel that enables accumulated excess water to leave the sump in a controlled manner is at least partially disposed on the sump. The channel is formed by means of an inner wall and an outer wall that are disposed on the sump.
- The dishwasher of the present invention comprises the channel having an inclined surface that enables the water discharged from the washing tub to be carried out of the sump in a controlled manner. The water is directed along the inclination of the channel and carried out of the sump.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the channel having the inclined surface that extends from one end to the other end thereof. By means of the inclination extending toward the other end, the water is discharged from a single point.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the channel having the inclined surface that extends from the center towards the ends thereof. The water is discharged from the ends of the channel.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the inner wall and the outer wall have different heights at different regions due to the inclination. The water is discharged from the lowermost points of the inner wall and the outer wall.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a discharge element that is disposed on the outer wall. By means of the discharge element, the water that will flow over the outer wall is directed.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a discharge element that extends over the outer wall downward in the vertical plane.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises at least one guiding element that is disposed at the end of the channel. The guiding element enables the water leaving the channel to be directed.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the guiding element of which one end is on the channel and the other end extends downward in the vertical plane. The guiding element may have different angles.
- The dishwasher realized to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where
- Figure 1 – is the perspective view of the dishwasher.
- Figure 2 – is the perspective view of the sump in an embodiment of the present invention.
- Figure 3 – is the front view of the sump in an embodiment of the present invention.
- Figure 4 – is the perspective view of the sump in another embodiment of the present invention.
- Figure 5 – is the front view of the sump in another embodiment of the present invention.
- The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
- Dishwasher
- Body
- Washing tub
- Sump
- Channel
- Inner wall
- Outer wall
- Discharge element
- Guiding element
- The dishwasher (1) comprises a body (2); a washing tub (3) wherein the washing process is performed; a sump (4) that is disposed at the base of the washing tub (3) and that enables the wash water to be discharged, and a channel (5) that is disposed on the sump (4) and that has an inner wall (6) and an outer wall (7). The channel (5) can be disposed all around the sump (4) or on a part of the sump (4). The water accumulating on the sump (4) is discharged by means of the channel (5). Thus, the electronic components are prevented from contacting water.
- The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises the channel (5) having the inclined surface that enables the water accumulating on the sump (4) to be carried out of the sump (4) in a controlled manner. By means of the inclined structure of the channel (5), the water can be directed on the sump (4). The water is directed from the section with the greatest inclination to the section with the least inclination. Thus, the water is discharged from a desired point on the sump (4).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the channel (5) having the inclined surface such that the inclination thereof decreases from one end to the other end. The inclination starts from one end of the channel (5) and extends by decreasing toward the other end. Thus, excess water accumulating on the sump (4) is discharged from the point where the depth of the channel (5) is maximum. The sump (4) is positioned according to the direction of the inclination in the direction of the point where the water is required to be discharged.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the channel (5) having the inclined surface of which inclination decreases from the center toward the ends. The water flow is provided from the center where the depth of the channel (5) is minimum toward the ends. Thus, the water is enabled to be discharged from the two ends of the channel (5).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the sump (4) comprises the inner wall (6) and the outer wall (7), the heights of which vary in proportion to the inclination. The channel (5) is circumferentially disposed on the sump (4). As the base of the channel (5) descends, the inner wall (6) and the outer wall (7) also descend in the same direction. Thus, the water is enabled to be discharged.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a discharge element (8) that is disposed on the outer wall (7) and that enables the water accumulating in the channel (5) to be discharged in a controlled manner. The discharge element (8) enables the excess water accumulated on the sump (4) to be discharged to the preferred region.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the discharge element (8) that extends over the outer wall (7) downward in the vertical plane. The water holds onto the discharge element (8) and leaves the sump (4) in the direction of the discharge element (8).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises at least one guiding element (9) that is disposed at the end of the channel (5) and that enables the water leaving the channel (5) to be directed.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the guiding element (9) of which one end is disposed on the channel (5) and the other end extends downward in the vertical plane. The guiding element (9) extends downward in a curved manner. Thus, the water is enabled to leave from the preferred region.
- By means of the present invention, a dishwasher (1) with improved safety is realized. The water is enabled to be directed to the preferred region during the discharge of the water from the sump (4). By means of the inclined structure of the channel (5) disposed on the sump (4), the water is directed. Thus, the fire hazard that may occur due to water spreading in an uncontrolled manner and contacting the electronic components is prevented.
