Description

A WASHING MACHINE COMPRISING A CLEANING AGENT DISPENSER
The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising a dispenser wherein the cleaning agents are placed.
In washing machines, the cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc needed for the washing process are loaded into a cleaning agent dispenser. Wash water received from the mains is directed into the dispenser and the cleaning agent dissolving/melting by mixing with water is delivered to the washing tub together with water. Washing machines furthermore comprise a flushing device covering over the dispenser and providing water received from the mains to pass to the dispenser. Water droplets remain on the flushing device after the washing process. The flushing device remaining wet after the washing causes dirt to accumulate on the compartment and the flushing device in the course of time. The accumulated dirt causes mold formation if not cleaned and this creates inconvenience in terms of hygiene. Since the flushing device is a component that cannot be easily reached and cleaned by the user due to its positioning in the washing machine, embodiments preventing dirt formation are required.
In the state of the art Japanese Patent Application No. JP2009201596, a washing machine is described, comprising a flushing device whereon the water droplets are prevented from remaining.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine comprising a dispenser having more hygienic utilization conditions.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a dispenser wherein the cleaning agents are loaded and a flushing device disposed on the dispenser.. The flushing device comprises at least one channel having more than one hole on its base, providing water to pass into the dispenser. In the washing machine of the present invention, the base is shaped so as to prevent water flowing in the channel from hanging thereon. By means of the shape of the base, water is provided to be directed to the holes, providing the flushing device to remain dry. Thus, problems such as mold growth, etc. that may occur due to the flushing device being wet, are eliminated.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the base is convex so that the holes are located at the lowermost point and extend along the channel. The cross-section of the base perpendicular to the flow direction of water is almost U-shaped and water droplets remaining thereon after the washing are prevented from hanging onto the base surface. Water droplets on the base slide towards the holes and pass through the holes and are discharged into the dispenser. Thus, the base is prevented from remaining wet.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the base is inclined from the back of the drawer towards front in the flow direction of water. Thus, water flows from back to front with the effect of the gravity and is discharged into the dispenser through the holes located at the front side of the base. Consequently, water droplets are prevented from hanging especially on the portion of the base near the rear side of the dispenser.
In another embodiment of the present invention, at least one groove through which water received from the mains flows and that distributes water to the channels, is disposed on the flushing device. The groove is inclined from back towards front and water flowing therethrough is provided to flow towards the front of the dispenser and to pass to the channels from there. By accumulating water at the front side of the base, a large portion of the water directed into the dispenser is provided to pass through the holes close to the front side of the dispenser. Thus, the sweeping efficiency of the cleaning agents loaded into the dispenser is increased and also it is provided that there remains no water on the base.
In a version of this embodiment, the base is inclined in the reverse direction with respect to the inclination of the groove. Since the water flowing through the groove passes into the channel after completing its course in the groove, the exit end of the groove and the entry end of the channel with respect to the flow direction of water coincide. Consequently, both the groove and the base are inclined from top to bottom with respect to the flow direction of water. Water is provided to flow from top to bottom with the effect of the gravity during its flow both through the groove and over the base. Thus, water droplets are prevented from hanging onto both the groove and the base, preventing the flushing device from remaining wet.
By means of the present invention, water droplets are prevented from remaining on the flushing device after the washing process. Thus, problems such as mold that may grow on the flushing device in course of time due to remaining wet are eliminated.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the schematic view of a washing machine.
Figure 2 – is the top view of a flushing device.
Figure 3 – is the view of AA cross-section in Figure 2.
Figure 4 – is the view of cross-section BB in Figure 2.
Figure 5 – is the view of CC cross-section in Figure 2.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Washing machine
  2. Dispenser
  3. Base
  4. Hole
  5. Channel
  6. Flushing device
  7. Groove
The washing machine (1) comprises a dispenser (2) wherein cleaning agents such as detergent, softener, etc. are placed and wherein the cleaning agents are mixed with water, and a flushing device (6)
  • disposed on the dispenser (2),
  • providing the water to be directed into the dispenser (2),
  • having a base (3) and more than one channel (5) disposed on the base (3), through which water flows, having more than one hole (4) providing water to pass into the dispenser (2).
The water taken from the mains during the washing of the laundry is delivered to the dispenser (2) by means of the flushing device (6). The cleaning agents loaded into the drawer (2) are mixed with water and delivered to the washing tub.
The base (3) has a form that prevents water flowing in the channel (5) from hanging thereonto and that provides it to be directed to the holes (4). By means of the form of the base (3), water droplets, that remain on the flushing device (6) after the water recevied from the mains was directed to the dispenser (2) during the washing, are prevented from hanging onto the base (3). Water droplets remaining on the flushing device (6) are directed towards the holes (4) and are provided to pass into the dispenser (2). Water droplets passing into the dispenser (2) are delivered to the washing tub. By means of the form of the base (3), water droplets are prevented from remaining on the flushing device (6) and thus hygienic utilization conditions are obtained by providing the flushing device (6) to be kept dry.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cross-section of the base (3) perpendicular to the flow direction of water is convex so that the holes (4) are at the lowermost point thereof. By means of the inclined form of the base (3), it becomes difficult for water to hang onto the base (3). Water droplets remaining on the flushing device (6) after the washing are directed towards the holes (4) by sliding over the base (3). Water droplets are provided to be discharged into the dispenser (2) by passing through the holes (4). Thus, the flushing device (6) is provided to dry by itself by preventing water droplets from remaining on the base (3).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the base (3) is inclined in the flow direction of the water. By means of the base (3) being inclined, water droplets remaining on the base (3) after the washing flow from top to bottom over the base (3) with the effect of the gravity. Thus, water droplets are provided to accumulate at the portion of the base (3) close to the front side of the dispenser (2). Water droplets accumulating at the front side of the base (3) are discharged into the dispenser (2) through the holes (4) close to the front side of the base (3). Thus, the base (3) is provided to dry faster by preventing water droplets remaining on the base (3) from hanging onto the base (3) surface.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises at least one groove (7) inclined from back towards front, through which water received from the mains flow and providing water to be distributed to the channels (5). By means of the inclined shape of the groove (7), water received from the mains flow in the groove (7) so as to accumulate at the front side of the dispenser (2) with the effect of the gravity. By water reaching the front side of the groove (7) being distributed to the channels (5), water is directed into the dispenser (2) through the holes (4) close to the front side of the base (3). Thus, the sweeping efficiency of the cleaning agents loaded into the dispenser (2) is increased and it is provided that no cleaning agent residues remain in the dispenser (2).
In a version of this embodiment, the base (3) is inclined in the reverse direction with respect to the inclination of the groove (7). While the groove (7) is inclined from back towards front with respect to the dispenser (2), the base (3) is inclined from front towards back. Water received from the mains flow in the groove (7) from top to bottom, towards the front side of the dispenser (2) with the effect of the gravity. On the other hand, water distributed into the channels (5) from the front side of the dispenser (2) flows from top to bottom towards the rear side of the dispenser (2) over the base (3). Thus, the sweeping efficiency of the cleaning agents is increased by providing the water discharge into the dispenser (2) through the holes (4) disposed at the front side of the base (3), and water droplets are prevented from hanging onto the base (3) by means of the inclined shape of the base (3). Thus, on one hand all of the cleaning agents are provided to be delivered to the washing tub and on the other hand the flushing device (6) is provided to remain dry.
In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, water droplets are prevented from remaining on the flushing device (6) after the washing and thus more hygienic utilization conditions are obtained by continuously keeping the flushing device (6) dry.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
