Denn sämtliche Kontaktflächen und elektronische Bauelemente sind auf einer einzigen Leiterplatte angeordnet. Der Steckverbinder kann für die THT-Montage (Through-Hole-Technology) mit Kontaktstiften, die in Bohrungen in einer Leiterplatte eingesteckt werden, oder für die SMT-Montage (Surface-mounted-technology) mit Kontaktflächen am Gehäuse ausgebildet sein. Da die Nutführungen zur Aufnahme der Seitenkanten der Leiterplatte im Gehäuse vorgesehen sind, wird die Leiterplatte bei einer Montage im Gehäuse geführt, so dass die Montage vereinfacht wird. Zudem ist die Leiterplatte im montierten Zustand auch bei Schwingungs- oder Stoßbelastungen sicher in dem Gehäuse gehalten.
