Such a device has a base body on which a conveying device is provided, at least one printing device which is provided on the base body and is designed to print the textile, and a drying device which is provided on the base body, arranged behind the printing device in the conveying direction and is designed to dry the print on the textile.

In such a method, at least one textile is conveyed on a conveyor device which is arranged on a machine base body, the textile is fed along the conveyor device to at least one printing device which is provided on the base body and is designed to print the textile, the printed textile is fed along the conveyor device to a drying device which is provided on the base body, is arranged behind the printing device in the conveying direction and is designed to dry the print on the textile.

In textile printing, a textile to be printed goes through a number of individual steps until it is printed with a designated print image. These can vary depending on the print image or textile. The expert is aware of the need to carry out a number of of individual devices into which the textile is inserted for each work step. The repeated insertion and removal of the textile from the individual devices leads to an unavoidable positioning inaccuracy that is difficult to compensate for and leads to shifts within the printed image.

A generic printing device is based on the EP 2 033 783 A1 in which individual process steps are carried out in succession on a textile placed on a pallet. The textile is first pretreated, which can include applying a pretreatment fluid to penetrate and impregnate the textile fibers, drying and pressing. After printing in a digital printing station, the finished printed textile is dried in a drying station, which can include applying heat radiation or pressing with a heated plate.

Ähnliche Druckvorrichtungen sind aus der EP 3 427 962 A1 und der EP 2 130 680 A1 bekannt.Similar printing devices are known from EP 3 427 962 A1 and the EP 2 130 680 A1 known.

The present invention has for its object to provide a device and a method for printing a textile, with which a printed image on a textile can be provided particularly precisely.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by a device according to claim 1 and a method according to claim 11.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention are set out in the dependent claims.

The device according to the invention is characterized in that
  • that at least one second printing device (20, 22) is provided in addition to the at least one first printing device (20), each of which has at least one digital print head and is designed to produce a part of the intended print image,
  • that an intermediate drying device (21) is provided which is arranged on the base body between the at least one first printing device (20) and the at least one second printing device (22) and is designed to dry the ink of the at least one first printing device (20) on the textile before the printing ink of the at least one second printing device (22) is applied.

A first basic idea of the invention is to provide a printing device which has devices for individual sub-steps for printing a printed product, in particular a textile. The devices for printing the printed product can be provided in a modular manner and adapted to the printed image and/or the textile as required. For this purpose, the printing device is designed with a base body on which a conveyor device is provided. The required devices for producing the printed image on the textile can be provided along the conveyor device as required, preferably on base body modules. The textile can be held on a printed product carrier, preferably stretched, whereby the printed product carrier can hold the textile in a predetermined orientation relative to the conveyor device. According to the invention, at least two printing devices can be provided, each of which can provide at least part of the intended printed image. In particular, to avoid
an interaction between the printing ink of the first printing device and the printing ink of the second printing device, an intermediate drying device can be provided between the two printing devices, which dries the ink of the at least one first printing device on the textile before further printing ink is provided on the textile by means of the second printing device.

The printing devices can be static and extend over the entire width of the conveyor. Individual or all printing devices can alternatively have at least one movable print head that moves transversely to the conveyor.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention consists in that a pretreatment device is provided on the base body, which has a spray station, a drying device and a pressing station and is designed to pretreat a surface of the textile for printing. The preferred pretreatment device can in particular be of modular construction, wherein the pretreatment device can be provided on at least one part or module of the base body of the printing device as required. The pretreatment device can in particular be designed to prepare the fabric of a textile for the absorption of a printing ink, in particular of the first printing device. This can prevent the printing ink from running or penetrating the fabric of the textile. This can in particular be beneficial to the sharpness of the printed image. In principle, the pretreatment device can be adapted as required and formed with any combination and number of pretreatment agents. These can be provided on the same or on different modules of the base body.

According to a preferred development of the invention, it is provided that the conveying device is designed as a circulation system which makes the at least one printing medium available for reuse after passing through the individual devices, whereby the textile with the printing medium can be delivered to the individual devices of the printing device. The conveying device can connect a rear end of the printing device, at which the printing medium with the finished printed textile leaves the drying device after the second printing device, with a front area of the printing device, from which textile is delivered to the individual devices which can be fed to the printing device. Accordingly, the in-line printing device can be a continuously operating device with a preset conveying speed of the print material carriers on the conveyor device. In principle, each module of the base body of the printing device can have a part of the conveyor device. In particular, when modules are combined, they can together provide at least a part of the conveyor device.

According to a particular further development of the present invention, it is provided that the conveyor device has a return area in which the at least one print material carrier can be equipped with new textile. Preferably after removing a printed textile from the at least one print material carrier, the latter can be equipped with new textile, in particular in the circulating circuit system along the conveyor belt.

According to a further development of the present invention, it is particularly preferred that a storage area for print material carriers is provided after the return area in the conveying direction, from which the at least one print material carrier with textile can be delivered to the devices of the printing device. Preferably, more print material carriers can be provided on the conveying device than can be printed with textile per unit of time at a certain conveying speed. The additional print material carriers equipped with textile can be temporarily stored or temporarily saved in the storage area, and can be fed to the conveying device from the storage area as required. This can, for example, compensate for short-term interruptions when equipping print material carriers with textile, which can be beneficial to uninterrupted operation of the printing device.

The conveying device particularly preferably has at least one circulating conveyor. To form a circulating system, several circulating conveyors can be provided, which can also have different conveying directions. By successively changing the conveying direction between adjacent circulating conveyors, a circulating system can be formed, which delivers print material carriers clockwise or anticlockwise through the printing device to the individual devices. Particularly preferably, each module of the printing device has at least a part of the conveying device, in particular at least one circulating conveyor.

A particularly advantageous further development of the present invention is that a support station is provided by means of which the at least one print material carrier can be equipped with the textile to be printed and can be provided on the conveyor. The print material carrier can in particular have a clamping frame on which the textile can be fixed in place. In the support station, the provision of textile on the print material carriers can be done manually or automatically. The at least one print material carrier can be provided on the conveyor with a predetermined orientation and/or position. For this purpose, for example, a locking system or the provision of conveyor pins on the conveyor or the print material carriers with corresponding conveyor eyes on the print material carriers or the conveyor can be provided. In this way, the position of a print material carrier on the conveyor can be fixed.

According to a preferred development of the present invention, a projection device is provided in the area of the support station, which projects an area to be printed onto the textile, by means of which the textile can be positioned on the print material carrier. The projection of the area to be printed onto the textile can be imaged, for example, by means of a laser, for example in the form of a contour of the printing area. As a result, the subsequent position of the print image can be recorded, displayed, checked and/or corrected, if necessary, based on its projected contour when the textile is fixed to the print material carrier. This enables the textile to be aligned for precise printing on the print material carrier. By providing the print material carrier at a precise location on the conveyor device, the position of the textile in relation to the conveyor device and thus also in relation to the individual devices of the printing device can be adjusted and defined when the textile is provided on the print material carrier.

According to a further development of the present invention, it is particularly preferred that an optical sensor is provided for adjusting the position of the at least one print head with the printing area on the textile, which sensor adjusts the positioning of the textile with a positioning of the print head. Depending on The starting point of the print head for printing on the textile can vary depending on the positioning of the print area on the textile. In order to align a positioning of the print head, in particular a start and an end point of a print line of the print head with the position of the print area on the textile, the contour of a textile to be printed, for example a T-shirt, a sweater or any other outer or inner clothing, can be detected by means of the optical sensor and the positioning of the print head can be aligned with a positioning of the print area on the textile, preferably stored in a programmable control unit.

For a particularly precise location of the printing ink on the textile, it is preferably provided that an adjustment device is provided which adapts the positioning of the print head to the positioning of the printing area. If the positioning of the print head deviates from a positioning of the printing area, as detected in particular by means of the optical sensor, the adjustment device can adapt the positioning, in particular the start position of the print head, to the area to be printed. This can prevent the textile from being printed outside the printing area.

According to a further development of the invention, it is particularly expedient that a sorting device is provided by means of which the textile, in particular with a positioning defect on the print material carrier, can be delivered to a reject area for corrected fixation of the textile on the print material carrier. If the textile is provided defectively on the print material carrier, so that error-free printing of the textile is prevented, the sorting device can feed the print material carrier to a reject area. As a result, the textile remains unprinted until its position on the print material carrier is corrected. A reject area can, for example, be a separate discharge of the print material carrier from the circulation system of the printing device. A reject device can be provided in that the incorrectly positioned textile is properly guided through the devices of the printing device, but no treatment or printing of the textile is carried out. Such a rejected textile is therefore guided through the individual devices of the printing devices without any treatment of the textile, in particular the provision of a printed image on the textile. After passing through the individual devices of the printing device, the textile is removed from the print substrate, preferably unchanged, in the same way as a textile with a printed image.

The sorting device can detect a positioning defect in particular if, when the position of the at least one print head is aligned with the printing area on the textile, the adjustment device is not able to be properly positioned in the printing area. This can be due, for example, to a mechanical restriction of the movement of the print head.

The present invention also discloses a method according to claim 11.

A basic idea of the method according to the invention is to provide a textile to be printed on a print material carrier, which can preferably be arranged in a precise position on a conveyor device. The textile can be delivered to individual printing devices, whereby the printing ink of the first printing device can be dried at least between a first printing device and a second printing device. If the textile requires further treatment steps, the printing device can be adapted as required, for example with additional printing devices, pre-treatment devices and/or a fixing device, preferably after the last printing device. For the in-line printing method according to the invention, the respective device to be used for a printed textile can be arranged on the preferably modular machine base body of the printing device in a modular and flexibly adaptable manner. For this purpose, individual modules of the base body can be added or exchanged, on which at least individual devices of the printing device can be provided. can. Alternatively or additionally, different devices can be provided on the base body of the printing device, whereby, depending on the textile to be printed, individual devices for the printing process are switched on, whereas the other devices remain switched off. In principle, the textile to be printed can be delivered to the individual devices of the printing device by means of a conveyor device, whereby the print material carrier can preferably be made available in a type of circulatory system after the printed textile has been removed in order to receive new textile to be printed. In this case, the circulatory system can be formed in particular by the conveyor device. The base body particularly preferably has modules on which individual or multiple devices of the printing device can be provided.

According to a further development of the present invention, it is provided that the textile is removed from the printing medium after printing and the printing medium is fed to a support area for reuse. In the support area, the printing medium can be equipped with new textile automatically, in particular mechanically, and/or manually.

For a particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention, it is provided that the positioning of the textile and a positioning of the at least one print head are aligned with one another using an optical sensor. In this way, an alignment of the print head with respect to an area to be printed on the textile can be determined. Using an adjustment device, the positioning of the print head can then be adapted to the positioning of the printing area on the textile.

Fig. 1 zeigt eine erfindungsgemäße Druckvorrichtung 10. Fig.1 shows a printing device 10 according to the invention. This can have at least one, preferably two modules I and II, on each of which a part of the printing devices of the printing device 10 can be provided. The module I has a part of the machine base body, on which a part 30 of the conveyor device is arranged. Above the part 30 of the conveyor device, a first printing device 20, an intermediate drying device 21 and/or a second printing device 22 can be arranged. The module II can have a further part of the machine base body of the printing device 10, on which a part 31 of the conveyor device can be provided. A drying device 23, in particular in the form of a drying tunnel, can be provided on the module II. The arrangement of the individual devices 20 to 23 can be distributed individually over a single module or over a plurality of modules. Their number and/or sequence can also be adapted to one another as required. Due to the modular design, part of the devices can be easily removed from the printing device or further modules with the devices provided for producing a printed textile can be provided. For this purpose, the corresponding part of the printing device is inserted into or removed from the printing device in the form of individual modules. A further part 32 of the conveying device can be provided behind the drying device 23, which preferably changes the conveying direction by an angle, in particular 90°.

Preferably approximately parallel to the at least one module of the printing device, a preferably longer segment 33 of the conveyor device can be provided, in which a return area 24 with a support station can be provided. In the support station, print material carriers 40, in particular which have been moved by means of the conveyor device through the individual devices of the printing device along the provided modules, can be equipped with a textile. In the return area, print material carriers can be conveyed from an end area of the printing device behind the printing devices to a start area of the printing device in front of the printing devices.

A projection device according to the invention, an optical sensor and/or an adjustment device can also be provided in the support station. In the flow direction of the printing material carriers, a storage area for printing material carriers can be provided behind the return area, preferably in the partial area 33 or 34 of the conveyor device, from which the printing material carrier with textile can be delivered to the devices of the printing device. In the area 33 of the conveyor devices, arrows are shown on the surface, which can represent a conveying direction of the printing material carriers. In particular, by changing the orientation of the conveying direction between the partial areas 31 and 32, 32 and 33, 33 and 34 and 34 and 30, a closed circuit system of the conveyor device can preferably be formed, whereby printing material carriers can be continuously delivered to the individual devices of the printing device.

Fig.2 shows an enlarged view of the modules I and II of the printing device 10 with the devices 20 to 23, as already described with reference to Fig.1 As is particularly evident on Fig.2 According to the invention, each module can have a separate part of the conveyor device, which is preferably designed as a circulating conveyor. By lining up the individual circulating conveyors, the at least one print material carrier can be transferred from one module to the next module without interruption by means of the conveyor device. If a change to the printing device is necessary in order to take into account the requirements of a textile and/or a print image to be printed, the printing device can be expanded, supplemented or reduced by any number of self-contained modules.

The arrangement of devices on the individual modules shown in the figures is only one of many possible arrangements. In principle, the arrangement shown in the Fig.2 The distribution of two printing devices and a dryer on module I and another dryer on module II shown can also be modified so that each module has, for example, a dryer and a printing device. The arrangement of the individual devices on the modules is preferably designed in such a way that the exchange/addition of individual modules or the removal of individual modules results in a sensible combination of devices. A combination of devices is sensible if if it can be used to completely print at least one type of textile with at least one print image. If the number of modules of the printing device 10 is adjusted, the length of the segment 33 of the conveyor device can be adjusted as required. By arranging the conveyor device segments 32 and 34 accordingly, preferably flush, a closed circuit system can be formed as required, in particular for conveying printing material carriers.

Fig.3 shows a further embodiment 50 of the printing device according to the invention, which has a further module III, which can be arranged upstream of modules I and II. In principle, an extension can also be arranged behind module II, as long as this makes sense from a printing point of view. According to the embodiment of the Fig.3 the module III is also formed with a part of the base body of the printing device 50, on which a partial segment 35 of the conveying device is formed, above which a pretreatment device can be provided. The pretreatment device can in particular have a spray station 27, a drying unit 28 and/or a pressing station 29. These stations are particularly preferably arranged one after the other in the conveying direction in the manner described. The pretreatment device can prepare the textile for the absorption of printing ink on its surface, whereby the printing ink can be prevented from running or penetrating the fabric of the textile. The embodiment according to Fig.3 can also have the devices 20 to 23, namely the two printing devices and drying devices as well as the return area 24 with the support station and the conveyor device segments 30 to 34. These can also have the same properties as those described with reference to Fig.1 and/or 2. Compared to the embodiment according to Fig.1 the segment area 33 of the conveyor is in accordance with Fig.3 adapted in terms of its length, in particular extended, which enables seamless transport of the printing material carriers in the circulation system through modules III, I and II and the return area with the support station.
