Die Profilierungsrolle wird mit einer entsprechenden Zustellkraft zugestellt, so dass das Material des Werkstücks spanlos verformt und das gewünschte Innenprofil mit den axialen Längsrippen eingeformt wird. Die Werkstückdrehung und die Rollendrehung sind dabei synchronisiert, vorzugsweise schlupffrei aufeinander abgestimmt. Bei einem Antrieb der Profilierungsrollen durch einen separaten Rollenantrieb kann für ein Kämmen des Außenprofiles der Profilierungsrolle mit dem Innenprofil jedoch ein definierter Schlupf vorgesehen sein, so dass die Profile exakt miteinander kämmen. Abhängig von der Zustellbewegung und der Werkstückeinspannung kann eine Werkstücklängung erfolgen. Das Werkstück kann dabei einen Durchmesser von bis zu 1 m und mehr aufweisen. Position, Durchmesser und Zustellbewegungen der Profilierungsrollen sind dabei so synchronisiert aufeinander abgestimmt, dass stets die Profile von Rolle und Werkstück miteinander kämmen. So kann ein exaktes einheitliches Innenprofil an der Werkstückinnenseite erzeugt werden. Grundsätzlich ist es möglich, auch Umformoperationen an der Außenseite des Werkstücks durchzuführen, insbesondere auch eine Profilierung der Außenseite zu bewirken. Eine vorteilhafte Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens besteht darin, dass eine Profilierung ausschließlich an der Innenseite der Umfangswand durchgeführt wird. - Method for producing a gas or liquid tank with a drum-shaped circumferential wall (2) by means of forming,
