Description

The invention relates to a knife. Such a knife is known from prior public use. It includes a sharp knife blade designed to cut cutting material. The knife also includes another blunt tool that protrudes beyond an outer contour of the knife body and is used, for example, for scoring adhesive tape.

That in the DE 203 09 701 U1 The knife described has a blade set back with respect to an outer contour of the housing and a sheet metal tongue protruding beyond the outer contour. One area of the tool head forms a flap that can be opened to loosen the sheet metal tongue or the blade. When the flap is open, the blade or the sheet metal tongue can be released from the respective seat and, for example, exchanged. The flap can then be closed again so that the blade and the sheet metal tongue are held between the flap and a contact surface of the tool head. Unintentional opening of the flap is prevented by means of a screw connection. Further knives according to the prior art are, for. B. also from the US 6,257,106 B1 known.

It was the object of the invention to create a knife which is more versatile.

The object was achieved by a knife with the features of claim 1.

The knife according to the invention comprises a knife body on which at least one blade with a cutting edge is mounted. The cutting edge is arranged set back with respect to an outer surface of the knife body, for example. An additional tool is detachably held on the knife body. The tool has at least two Work areas. It can also have three or four work areas, for example.

The tool is provided with a holding area which can be brought into engagement in at least two relative positions with a receiving area of a tool seat of the knife body. Optionally, one of several working areas of the tool can be arranged in a working position in which it can be used by a user, while the other working area is in a stowed position.

In the working position, the working area protrudes beyond the outer contour of the knife body in such a way that a cutting process can be carried out. For example, in the working position, the working area protrudes beyond an outer surface of the knife body.

By changing the position of the tool relative to the knife body, one of several identical or different edge geometries and / or different edge sharpnesses can be brought into a working position, for example. The edge geometries and the sharpness of the edges can be optimized for certain items to be cut. If at least two work areas have scored edges with the same edge geometry and edge sharpness, e.g. after one work area is worn out, another work area can be moved into the work position which has the same separation characteristics.

The tool is e.g. designed as a sheet metal part. It is produced, for example, by punching and a subsequent forming process.

The work areas are each provided with at least one scratched edge, for example. Any edge is used as a scoring edge in the context of the invention which is suitable for separating or scoring the cutting material. The scoring edge is, for example, a blunt edge.

The work area includes, for example, at least one flat or one wave-shaped scoring edge. The work area is e.g. arrowhead-shaped or semicircular. Two scoring edges are arranged opposite one another with respect to a longitudinal axis of the tool, for example. Two scoring edges of a work area are e.g. arranged parallel or at an acute angle to one another. For example, two scoring edges can merge into a curve that forms an end area of the tool. The scoring edge is arranged, for example, in such a way that a cutting process is possible by pulling or pushing the knife when it is held by the handle. This means that a scoring edge, for example, points to the front in the longitudinal direction of the knife and a scoring edge, for example, points to the rear in the longitudinal direction.

For example, two work areas are arranged opposite one another. If a work area is to be exchanged for another work area, this can be done, for example, by rotating the tool by 180 °. According to an alternative, a total of four work areas can also be provided on the tool, with two work areas facing each other. In this case, the work areas are arranged in a cross shape, for example. The work areas are arranged offset by 90 ° or 120 °, for example.

The work area is for example inaccessible in a receiving space of the knife body when it is in a stowed position. For example, the work area can be moved into or out of the receiving space by means of a movable carrier on which the tool is mounted.

According to one embodiment, all work areas can be arranged in the stowed position at the same time. If, for example, it is desired that no work area is arranged in the work position, the tool can be positioned relative to the receiving area in such a way that all work areas are in the stowed position. In this case, for example, no work area protrudes beyond the outer contour of the knife body.

Die Aussparung hat z.B. die Form einer Nut.One embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the holding area has a projection which can be brought into engagement with a recess in the receiving area in a form-fitting manner. The projection has, for example, the shape of a bead or a pot-like bulge. The recess has the shape of a groove, for example.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the tool is held in the working position between a contact surface of the tool seat and a holding surface of a cover. The cover is in the form of a flap, for example. The flap is e.g. pivotably mounted on a carrier. The tool and the blade, for example, are mounted on the carrier. The tool and the blade, for example, can be held between the flap and the carrier. With the flap it is possible to create an essentially flat outer surface which, when the carrier moves relative to the housing, enables sliding between the carrier and the housing. The flap is formed by a plate, for example. The plate can, for example, be releasably attached to the carrier with a lock, such as screw fastening, latching, etc.

The tool seat is assigned, for example, to a carrier that can be moved relative to the knife body. A knife as a whole is denoted by the reference numeral 10 in the figures. The same reference symbols in the different figures denote corresponding parts, even if lowercase letters are added or omitted.

In Fig. 1a a side view of the knife 10 is shown. The knife 10 comprises a knife body 11 with a handle area 12, a front end area 13 and a rear end area 14. The knife 10 can be held on the handle area 12.

A channel-like recess 15 is provided on the knife body 11. Cutting material can be guided to the cutting edge 16 of a blade 17 through the recess 15. The recess 15 narrows the access to the cutting edge 16, for example in such a way that the user's fingers cannot come into contact with the cutting edge 16 via the recess 15. The recess 15 is formed between opposite guide surfaces 34a and 34b of the front end region 13, the guide surface 34b being assigned to a hook-shaped extension 18 of the knife body 11. The cutting edge 16 is set back with respect to an outer surface 25 of the knife body 11.

At the rear end region 14, the knife body 11 is provided with a through hole 19 which can be used, for example, to hang up the knife 10. In order to prevent the fingers from slipping off, the housing 11 is provided with structures 22a, 22b and 22c on two opposite sides 20a and 20b and on a knife back 21.

At the front end area 13, a working area 23a of a tool 24a protrudes beyond the outer surface 25 of the knife body 11. In the present exemplary embodiment, the working area 23a has scored edges 26a and 26b. The scoring edges 26a and 26b are arranged at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis m1 of the knife body 11. The tool 24a can be detached from the knife body 11, as will be explained further below.

In Fig. 1a the side 20a of the knife 10 is shown. The Figure 1b shows the knife from a side 20b opposite side 20a.

In Figure 1c two tools 24 a and 24 b are shown which belong to a set of different tools 24. The tools 24a and 24b are provided with different scoring edges 26a, 26b, 26c, 26d, 26e, 26f, 26g, 26h. One of the tools 24a or 24b can be exchanged for the tool 24a arranged in the knife body 11.

A recess 33 can be seen on the knife body 11. The recess 33 extends over the knife back 21 on both opposite sides 20a and 20b of the knife body 11. The knife back 21 is provided with a slot-shaped opening 35 which is connected to a receiving space 36 of the housing 11 (for example in Figure 3b to recognize). A carrier 27 can be pivoted through the opening 35 into the receiving space 36 into the operating position and out of the receiving space 36 into the blade changing position be (see the Fig. 2 and 3 ). An actuation area 32 is formed on an end area 30 of the carrier 27, which is arranged in the recess 33 in the operating position.

In Fig. 2 it can be seen that the tool 24a is held on the carrier 27. According to an alternative embodiment, the tool 24a could also be held directly on the housing 11. The blade 17 is also mounted on the carrier 27. The carrier 27 is between the in Fig. 2 Blade change position shown and the in Fig. 1 operating position shown pivotably mounted on the knife body 11. A swivel joint G1 with a swivel axis a1 is formed between the carrier 27 and the knife body 11. From the operating position, the carrier 27 can be pivoted relative to the knife body 11 about the pivot axis a1 in the direction u1 into the blade change position. From the blade change position, the carrier 27 can be pivoted about the pivot axis a1 in the direction u2 into the operating position.

Furthermore, in the Fig. 2 and 3 an arm 29 can be seen which is located on the end region 30 of the carrier 27 facing away from the pivot axis a1. The arm 29 is part of a locking device 31. The arm 29 is provided with first locking means which interact with second locking means of the knife body 11. In the present exemplary embodiment, the arm 29 has a hook-shaped end which interacts with a counter-structure, not shown, of the knife body 11.

At the end region 30 is in Fig. 2 In addition, the actuation area 32 can be seen on which the carrier 29 can be moved between the operating position and the blade changing position. In the operating position, the carrier 27 is arranged completely in the receiving space 36, so that the carrier 27 can only be actuated from the outside in the actuation area 32.

According to Fig. 2 a first blade seat 37 for the blade 17 intended for cutting is formed on the carrier 27. A tool seat 39 for the tool 24a is also formed adjacent to an upper edge region 38 of the carrier 27. In addition, a seat 51 for at least one replacement blade 50 is formed in a rear region of the carrier 27 remote from the pivot axis a1.

The blade 17 and the tool 24a are according to FIG Fig. 2 held between the carrier 27 and a cover 28. The cover 28 forms with the carrier 28 a pivot joint G2 with a pivot axis a2 and is about the pivot axis a2 between the in Fig. 2 open position shown and one in Fig. 3 shown closed position pivotable. In the open position, the tool 24a can be removed from the tool seat 39 of the carrier 27 and inserted into the tool seat 39 again or exchanged in a different position relative to the carrier 27.

In the Fig. 2 and 3a it can be seen that the tool is provided on a holding area 42 with a projection 40 in the form of a U-shaped bead which is provided for holding the tool 24a in the tool seat 39 in a form-fitting manner. The projection 40 extends over the entire width of the tool 24a. The tool seat 39 comprises a recess 41 of the carrier 27 that is complementary to the projection 40.

In addition, the Fig. 2 and 3a It can be seen that the tool has a further work area 23b in addition to the work area 23a. The regions 23a and 23b are separated from one another by the projection 40. The scoring edges 26a and 26b are assigned to the area 23a and additional scoring edges 26c and 26d are assigned to the area 23b of the tool 24a.

In the Figures 4, 5 and 6 the tool seat 39 is shown with the tool 24a mounted therein. The cover 28 is in the Figures 4, 5 and 6 not shown. According to Fig. 4 the region 23a projects beyond an outer surface 43 which, in the closed position of the carrier 27, forms part of the outer surface 25 and forms a region of the knife back 21. The region 23b lies completely against a surface 44 of the carrier 27, so that it is arranged in the receiving space 36 in the closed position.

In Fig. 4 a section line is shown which is guided along a longitudinal axis m1 of the tool 24a. In Fig. 4 it can be seen that a longitudinal axis m2 of the projection 40 runs approximately at right angles to the longitudinal axis m1. The scoring edges of at least one working area are arranged opposite one another, for example with respect to the longitudinal axis m1. In Figures 5 and 6 it can be seen that a lower surface 45 of the tool 24a rests against the surface 44 and the projection 40 is received in the recess 41. Opposing side walls 46a and 46b of recess 41 prevent tool 24a from moving in directions x1 and x2, parallel to longitudinal axis m1, and opposite side walls 47a and 47b prevent tool 24a from moving in directions y1 and y2, transverse to longitudinal axis m1.

Fig. 7 is on Fig. 4 ajar, with the only difference that in Fig. 7 the cover 28 is shown in the closed position. In the Figures 8 and 9 it can be seen that an outer surface 48 of the tool 24a rests against a holding surface 49 of the cover 28. The areas 23a and 23b of the tool 24 are held between the holding surface 49 and the surface 44 of the carrier 27, so that movement in the directions z1 and z2 is excluded. In this way, the tool 24a cannot move out of the tool seat 39.
