- the ball hits the stiff wire net, the ball rebounds out of the goal assembly which is not desired.
- Steel cable mesh suitable for use in a goal assembly according to this third invention is well known in the art and is commonly available. Searching on google for "steel cable mesh" discloses many suitable examples. However, this type of net has previously only been used for safety nets, security nets, fencing, etc. It has previously not been imagined that this type of net would be suitable for use in a goal assembly for outdoor public sports arenas.
