Description

The present invention relates to a viewing window for insertion into a viewing opening, in particular a viewing opening of an HVAC system and / or a climatic chamber, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Especially in the industrial sector, room, air and technical systems (HVAC systems) and climatic chambers are equipped with a wide variety of machines, systems, system parts, units, etc. for various applications. Such air conditioning systems or climatic chambers usually have a closed system housing, in which different operating or climatic conditions can prevail, which in some cases differ significantly from the environmental conditions outside the system housing.

For example, inside the system housing there can be conditions with both positive and negative overpressure, a wide variety of temperature and / or air humidity conditions, etc., which is why the walls of the system housing of such HVAC systems and climatic chambers are generally pressure-tight and also heat-insulated.

In order, for example, to be able to monitor a machine arranged inside an air-conditioning system from outside its system housing, viewing openings with viewing windows inserted therein are provided at certain points in the system housing, which in practice are often designed like portholes.

These viewing windows usually have two panes, of which a first pane is arranged on the inside and a second pane on the outside of the viewing opening, resulting in a type of double glazing with good thermal insulation properties. When installing the viewing window, there are special requirements due to the operating or climatic conditions inside the system housing and in particular the pressure conditions there, since the viewing window must be installed pressure-tight in the associated viewing opening of the system housing.

For this reason, the panes are usually arranged on pane carriers, which are inserted into the viewing opening from opposite directions and mounted there. The processes involved in installing the viewing window are therefore such that a pane support is inserted from the inside and a pane support from the outside into the view opening. Then mostly a plurality of screw bolts distributed over the circumference of the two disk carriers are inserted through corresponding openings and the two disk carriers are braced against one another by actuating the screw bolts. By being braced Seals arranged on the pane carriers are compressed so that the operating conditions prevailing on the climate side in the region of the viewing window are not impaired. Such a window is out DE20200817183U known.

It has proven to be disadvantageous in this type of known viewing window that the screw bolts both on the outside and on the climate side usually require a separate seal surrounding the screw bolt, for example an O-ring seal, so that there are no leakage flows, for example in the If there is overpressure in the climate chamber. Overall, there is therefore a large number of required sealing points and an increasing risk of any leaks as the number of sealing points increases. Another problem with these viewing windows is that, due to the large number of screw bolts distributed over the circumference, there is a comparatively high outlay in terms of installation when the viewing window is inserted into the viewing opening.

The document US4525961 describes a rectangular viewing window, with the pane supports attached to each other by means of a snap-in connection JP0663787U and US177432 reveal peepholes with two pane supports that are screwed together.

Starting from such a viewing window, it is the object of the present invention to provide a viewing window that is as easy to install as it is leak-proof.

This object is achieved in a window of the type mentioned by the features of claim 1.

With such fasteners arranged and designed in this way, the two pane supports can be fastened in the viewing opening in a manner which is easy to assemble. The two pane supports can be inserted into the viewing opening and then attached by means of a relative movement. Additional fasteners, such as bolts, are not required for fastening, which is why not only is assembly significantly simplified, but also a smaller number of sealing points required and thus a reduced risk of leakage.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the pane carriers have a window frame which receives a window pane and a fastening section on which the fastening means are arranged. The window frame receiving the window pane and the fastening section can be angled with respect to one another and in particular can run at right angles to one another. For example, the window frame can be designed in the manner of a flange-shaped collar and the fastening section in the manner of a tubular connecting piece. Due to the arrangement of the fastening means on the fastening section of the pane carrier, the pane carrier has a dual function in that it serves not only as a carrier for the pane, but also immediately as a fastening means for fastening the pane carrier in the viewing opening.

A design that is advantageous in terms of production technology provides that the window frame and the fastening section are connected to one another in one piece. In this way, the disk carrier can be manufactured in one piece in a technically advantageous manner, for example in a plastic injection molding process. In such an embodiment, the entire pane support can be made of a transparent material and the viewing pane can also be integrally formed on the pane support. Alternatively, a multi-piece design of the window frame and the actuating section is also conceivable, in particular a two-piece design, in which the window frame is made of a transparent material and the fastening section is made of an opaque material. The non-transparent fastening section can protrude into the viewing opening and in this way close the inner circumferential surface thereof from views from the outside. This offers the advantage that when checking a unit, for example within an air conditioning system, the controller does not point to the inside of the wall of the air conditioning system provided filling, for example a glass fiber material or a similar insulation material.

A further embodiment provides that the fastening sections are designed such that when they are inserted into the viewing opening they form a collar covering the inner surface of the viewing opening. The inner areas of the wall section of the viewing opening surrounding the viewing opening are covered. In this respect, there is no fear that material from this area, such as an insulating material or similar materials, will get into the viewing opening, where these could impair the view.

In addition, it is proposed that the window frames be designed such that they can be tensioned against an end edge of the viewing opening by actuating the fastening means. The resulting clamping force can also serve to compress a seal surrounding the front edge of the viewing opening. This results in a gas-tight contact of the window frame on the inside or outside of the housing wall in the area of the viewing opening.

With regard to the fastening means, it has proven to be advantageous if they are designed in the manner of screw, bayonet and / or latching connection means, screw connection means having proven to be particularly simple and easy to assemble.

According to the invention it is provided that the fastening means can be actuated by a relative rotation of the disk carrier. In this way, the disk carrier can first be inserted into the viewing opening and then rotated against one another. In the manner of a screw connection, the pane carriers can be moved towards one another in the axial direction and with their window frames while compressing a sealing element provided there be pressed against the front edges of the viewing opening.

An embodiment is particularly advantageous in which the fastening means of the pane carrier are of spiral design, at least in sections. The fastening means of the one disk carrier can be designed in the manner of a threaded spindle. The disc carrier can be connected to the other disc carrier in the manner of a screw.

A further advantageous embodiment provides in this connection that the fastening means are formed by several, in particular three, separate spiral turning sections. The spiral spiral sections can be adapted to the wall thicknesses of various system housings. Depending on the thickness of the wall or the wall thickness in the area of the viewing opening, one of these spiral turning sections can be used for fastening. The spiral coil sections are therefore designed as a wall thickness adjustment. Three separate spiral coil sections need not necessarily be provided. Solutions are also conceivable in which four, five, six or more spiral turning sections are provided. Depending on the number of spiral spiral sections, the viewing window can be used for a corresponding number of different wall thicknesses in the area of the viewing opening.

In this context, it is further proposed that the spiral coil sections for inserting the viewing window in different viewing openings are arranged at a distance from one another in its insertion directions. Use the different distances of the spiral spiral sections in different system housings with different wall thicknesses.

With regard to the fastening means of the one pane carrier, the invention provides if these fastening means are designed to engage the spiral-shaped fastening means of the other pane carrier. These fastening means can also be designed in the manner of a spiral or a spiral section. For example, the first disk carrier in its fastening section can be designed in the manner of a screw bolt and the second in the disk carrier in the region of its fastening section in the manner of a nut. The two disc carriers can then be screwed together in the usual way.

It has also proven to be advantageous if the fastening means are of spiral design, at least in sections. The spiral shapes of the fastening means of the two disk carriers can be designed to correspond to one another.

It has also proven to be advantageous if the fastening means are designed in the manner of tabs which engage the spiral-shaped fastening means of the other pane carrier. Depending on the wall thickness in the area of the viewing opening, the tabs can be approximated to a corresponding spiral helix and locked there by a short, mostly less than 360 ° rotary movement.

According to the invention it is provided that a plurality of fasteners are provided distributed over the circumference of the disc carrier for a uniform force distribution. For example, two fastening means can be provided on opposite sides of the fastening section. It is even more advantageous to provide a total of four fastening means which are distributed uniformly over the circumference. However, solutions with six, eight or even more such fastening elements are also conceivable.

Furthermore, it is provided according to the invention if the spiral helical gates have insertion openings for inserting the fastening means. In this way, the fastening means can first be pushed as far as possible into the insertion openings and then brought into engagement with the spiral helix provided there. It is not necessary to first completely run through a spiral having several turns, as is the case with a conventional screw connection. Rather, the fastening means can be transferred along the insertion openings in the manner of a bypass directly to a suitable spiral spiral or a suitable spiral spiral section. This also simplifies assembly.

In this context, a further assembly-friendly embodiment provides that the insertion openings have an insertion bevel at their insertion end, which simplifies the insertion of the fastening means, in particular in the case of unfavorable visibility conditions.

A further embodiment provides a reverse rotation lock to secure the disk carriers in their fastened position within the viewing opening. The anti-rotation device can be used to prevent turning back and thus unwanted loosening and impairment of the climatic conditions in a system housing, for example an HVAC system in the area of the viewing window, as can occur, for example, in industrial production due to vibration of machines and similar effects. The anti-rotation device can be secured, for example, by a screw securing the window frame of the window support against the wall of the housing and / or a window window of the window support the positive locking element securing the wall of the housing can be provided.

Advantageously, at least one additional anti-rotation lock is provided, which can always be used when the actual anti-rotation lock has already been used and it cannot be used again. Even more advantageously, at least three additional anti-rotation locks are provided.

Fig.1 zeigt in stark schematisierter Ansicht ein Anlagengehäuse 20. Fig. 1 shows a highly schematic view of a system housing 20. The system housing 20 can be the housing of an HVAC system or the housing of a climatic chamber, as is widely used in the industrial sector for various applications.

Inside the system housing 20, which according to the exemplary embodiment Fig. 1 Various machines, systems, system parts, units and the like can be arranged via a door 21. Operating conditions prevail in the interior of the system housing 20, which usually differ in terms of pressure and temperature from the ambient conditions prevailing outside the system housing 20. For this reason, in order to control the devices arranged in the system housing 20, it is not possible to simply open the door 21 and to inspect it. Because opening the door 21 would affect the operating conditions within the device housing 20, which is not desirable in many cases.

Therefore, in order to be able to monitor, for example, a machine arranged inside the system housing 20 from outside the system housing 20, the exemplary embodiment according to FIG Fig. 1 two viewing windows 1 are provided, each provided with panes and in the manner of portholes allow a view of the systems and machines housed inside the device housing 20 without the door 21 having to be opened.

Details of the viewing window 1 are described below with reference to the representations in FIGS 2 to 15 are explained in detail.

As shown in Fig. 2 can be seen, the viewing window 1 is of cylindrical geometry and is inserted into an approximately cylindrical viewing opening 2 within a housing wall 22 of the system housing 20. The housing wall 22 can be the part of a door 21, a wall or the ceiling of the system housing 20.

As shown in Fig. 2 can be seen further, the viewing window 1 is composed of two parts. One part of the viewing window 1 is formed by a pane support 3 which is inserted into the viewing opening 2 from the inside, that is to say the climate side, of the installation housing 20 along the direction R 1 . The second part of the viewing window 1 is formed by a further pane support 4, which is inserted into the viewing opening 2 along the direction R 2 from the outside of the system housing 20.

The housing wall 22 of the system housing 20 can be, for example, a system wall formed from metallic surfaces and an insulating material arranged in between, which is provided with the viewing opening 2 designed in the manner of a through hole.

The viewing window 1 is inserted in a gas-tight manner in the viewing opening 2 of the housing wall 22 in a manner that is easy to assemble and leak-proof with few sealing points. For this purpose, sealing elements 17, 18 are provided on both sides of the housing wall, which are between a circumferential Collar of the disc carrier 3, 4 and the opposite edge 2.2 of the viewing opening 2 are braced. The climate-side sealing element 18 has a round cross section and the outside sealing element 17 has a rectangular cross section, wherein other cross sections would also be conceivable. Both sealing elements 17, 18 are of annular geometry and extend along the edge 2.2 of the viewing opening 2 around it.

While the two disc carriers in Fig. 2 are shown in the assembled state, the 3 and 4 the two disc carriers 3 and 4 each separately in a perspective view.

The pane support 3 is designed like a lid and carries a window pane 11 made of optically transparent material. A window frame 7 surrounding the window pane 11 is provided for fastening the window pane 11 to the pane carrier 3. A fastening section 9 with a smaller diameter is connected to the window frame 7. The fastening section 9 is of tubular geometry and, in the exemplary embodiment, is integrally connected to the window frame 7. In the exemplary embodiment, both the window pane 11 and the window frame 7 surrounding it, as well as the fastening section 9, are made of an optically transparent material and in particular a plastic material. Alternatively, it would also be possible to produce the fastening section 9 from an opaque material and to connect it to the window frame 7.

In this case, the disk carrier 3 would be made from two pieces. The advantage of the non-transparent area 9 would be that it would not be possible for an observer to look diagonally through the viewing window 1 over the inner circumferential surface 2.1 of the viewing opening 2 into the interior of the housing wall 22, where for example a mineral insulating material is located.

At the free end of the fastening section 9, the pane carrier 3 has a fastening means 5 which is designed such that it interacts with a corresponding fastening means 6 of the other pane carrier 4 as a result of a relative movement of the two fastening means 5, 6.

In the embodiment, the fastener 5 is formed by two radially inwardly projecting tabs. It can also be used more tabs than fasteners 5. It would also be conceivable to use tabs with a more spiral shape. The tabs can also be made longer or shorter. It is important that these are suitable to enter a spiral of the other fastening means 6 and to fasten the pane supports 3, 4 in the viewing opening 2.

Fig. 4 zeigt den anderen Scheibenträger 4 in perspektivischer Ansicht. Fig. 4 shows the other disk carrier 4 in a perspective view. The pane support 4 has a window pane 12 made of transparent material. The window pane 12 is surrounded by a window frame 8, to which a fastening section 10 connects. In this respect, the configuration of the disc carrier 4 is the same as that of the disc carrier 3. The pane support 4 can also be made from one piece in a transparent material or the fastening area 10 can be made as a separate piece from an opaque material.

Details of the fastening means 6 of the disk carrier 4 are also in the 5 to 7 shown.

In the disk carrier 4, the fastening elements 6 are formed by spiral or partially spiral elements which are arranged on the circumference of the cylindrical fastening section 10. In the exemplary embodiment, the fastening elements 6 are formed by a total of three spiral turning sections 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3, which point in the direction of the mounting axis M of the viewing window 1 are arranged offset from one another. Basically, a single such spiral spiral section 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3 would be sufficient for mounting the viewing window 1. However, a plurality of spiral spiral sections creates a possibility for quickly adapting the viewing window to different wall thicknesses of the housing wall 22, which will be explained in more detail below.

It can also be seen that the spiral turning sections 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 are not continuous, but are provided on two opposite sides corresponding to the number of fasteners 5 of the other disk carrier 3 with an insertion opening 13 into which the fastening means 5 of the other disk carrier are inserted can. The insertion openings have a channel-shaped cross section. In order to facilitate insertion, the insertion openings 13 are provided with an insertion bevel 14 on the insertion side.

The predecessor to the assembly of the two pane supports 3, 4 to form a common viewing window 1 is shown in FIG 8 to 11 illustrated.

Within the viewing opening 2, the two pane supports 3, 4 are first moved towards each other along the mounting axis M from opposite directions R 1 , R 2 . The tab-like fastening means 5 enter the area of the insertion opening 13 until the two pane supports 3, 4 with their window frames 7, 8 come to rest on the edge of the insertion opening 2 and a further axial movement is no longer possible. To this extent, the window frames 7, 8 form stops.

In this position, an anti-rotation device 19 arranged on the one disk carrier 13 interacts with a counter-contour on the housing wall 22 in such a way that the disk carrier 4 can no longer be rotated within the viewing opening 2. The anti-rotation device 19 is on the climatic side Disc carrier 4 arranged. In the exemplary embodiment, the anti-rotation device 19 is formed by a form-locking element, which is arranged on the window frame 8 of the pane support 4 and interacts positively with a counter-structure on the housing wall 22. In the exemplary embodiment, the anti-rotation device 19 is formed by a projection and the counter structure on the housing wall 22 by a recess. Alternatively, however, it would also be possible for the anti-rotation device 19 to be formed by a recess and the counter structure on the housing wall 22 to be formed by a projection.

Then the one disc carrier 3 is moved relative to the other disc carrier 4 and thereby the fastening means 5 is actuated, i.e. the fastening means 5, 6 are brought into engagement with one another. The relative movement is a relative rotation of the two disk carriers 3, 4, as a result of which these are connected to one another in a screw-like manner. The disk support 4 is also prevented from rotating in the viewing opening 2 by the anti-rotation device 19.

When the two disk carriers 3, 4 are rotated relative to one another, the tab-like fastening elements 5 first enter the area of the spiral sections 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, cf. also the representations in the 10 and 11 . Depending on how large the wall thickness of the housing wall 22 is, these optionally come into contact behind one of the spiral sections 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3. Upon further rotation, the corresponding spiral section 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3 exerts an axial force on the fastening element 5 due to its incline. As a result, the two disk carriers 3, 4 move in the axial direction, compensating for any manufacturing tolerances, towards the housing wall 22 until the sealing elements 17, 18 are sufficiently compressed and the viewing window is seated pressure-tight in the viewing opening.

In a last step, a reverse rotation lock 15 is then produced, which ensures that the two disk carriers 3, 4 do not rotate relative to one another in the opposite direction during operation and the attachment can unintentionally loosen.

According to Fig. 3 a bore can be provided for receiving a locking screw that can be screwed to the housing wall 22. Since it can happen over the lifetime of the viewing window that it may be disassembled, for example in the case of porous seals, and reinstalled after the insertion of new seals, in the exemplary embodiment a plurality of anti-rotation devices 16 are provided. In total, three additional anti-rotation safeguards 15 are provided for the actual anti-rotation lock 15, which are distributed approximately at 90 ° angular intervals around the circumference of the disk carrier 3, but more additional anti-rotation locks 16 can also be provided. These additional anti-rotation locks 16 can be used as an alternative to the anti-rotation lock 15, if this should be unsuitable in the case of a second installation of the viewing window 1, in particular due to an unfavorably positioned drill hole of the locking screw originally used in the housing wall 22.

As already mentioned, a single spiral helix would be sufficient as the fastening element 6 for actuating the fastening means 5, 6. In the exemplary embodiment, however, three spiral coils 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 are provided, which serve as wall thickness compensation for different wall thicknesses of the housing wall 22 of the system housing 20 in the region of the viewing opening 2. This is shown in the illustrations in the Fig. 12-14 explained.

In Fig. 12 a view of the assembled viewing window 1 in a viewing opening 2 of a comparatively thin housing wall 22 is shown. In this, the fastening means 5 of the pane carrier 3 are behind the spiral coil section 6.3 brought into contact with the other pane support 4, which is closest to the window frame 7 of the pane support 4, and secured there by twisting. Fig. 13 shows an installation situation in a viewing opening 2 of a housing wall 22 of medium thickness, in which the fastening means 5 come to rest behind the central spiral helix section 6.2. Fig. 14 finally shows an installation situation in which the fastening means 5 abut the spiral helix section 6.3, which is arranged at the front end of the fastening section 10.

In this way, by using the various spiral spiral sections 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, the viewing window 1 can optionally be inserted into housing walls 22 of different thicknesses. For this purpose, it is not necessary to make any design changes to the viewing window 1.

It is also not necessary, for housing walls of different thicknesses, to first twist the two disk carriers 3, 4 several times against one another about their own axis and thereby to go through a longer spiral coil. Rather, the fastening means 5 can be inserted into the insertion bevel until the window frames 7, 8 of the two pane supports 3, 4 bear against the housing wall 22. The two disk supports 3, 4 can then be locked in the manner of a screw connection by means of a rotary movement.

In this screw connection, the disk carrier 3 having the spiral-shaped fastening means forms a type of screw and the disk carrier 4 having the tab-like fastening elements 5 forms a type of nut.

Fig. 15 finally shows once again the processes when assembling a lens 1 in an exploded view, the two parts 3, 4 of Art a double-glazed porthole can be inserted into a housing wall 22 coming from two opposite directions.

Even if only one exemplary embodiment in which the two disk carriers 3, 4 are connected to one another in the manner of a screw connection is described by way of example, other types of connection are also conceivable. For example, fastening elements 5, 6 can be arranged on the fastening sections 9 and 10 of the two disk carriers 3, 4, which form a bayonet connection. The fastening elements 5, 6 can also be designed in the manner of snap and locking elements, which are actuated by an axial relative movement of the two disk carriers 3, 4, i.e. snap together or have them detached from each other.

It is crucial that the two disk carriers 3, 4 are inserted into the viewing opening 1 of a device housing 20 in a pressure-tight and easy-to-assemble manner without additional fastening elements, in particular screw bolts and similar elements, and there by a relative movement, in particular a relative rotation or an axial relative movement , the two disc carriers 3, 4 can be attached pressure-tight.
