  • a disadvantage here is the fact that with this type of back length adjustment the yoke plate is prevented from moving upwards. However, the yoke plate can also be moved downwards when the toothed strip is locked in the locking device. Furthermore, such an adjusting mechanism is comparatively stiff. This is due to the fact that the belt is guided through the passage in the back plate and therefore considerable frictional forces have to be overcome.

  • the teeth can in particular be designed in such a way that the teeth do not allow an upward movement of the center piece in the vertical direction of the backpack when the locking device is brought into the locking position. In this way it is prevented that loading forces acting upwards on the shoulder straps, such as those that occur when carrying or putting on the loaded rucksack, do not lead to an undesired upward displacement of the middle section.
  • a downward alignment and / or curvature of the teeth can ensure that when the locking device is brought into the locking position, a downward movement of the center piece in the upward direction of the backpack is made more difficult due to the friction on the teeth, but is still possible. This simplifies the usability of the rucksack when adjusting the back length.

Description

The invention relates to a backpack with a first shoulder strap and a second shoulder strap, the respective end regions of the shoulder straps being connected to one another via a center piece. The middle piece can be moved steplessly along at least one guide element in a vertical direction of the rucksack.

Such rucksacks with a stepless back length adjustment are for example from the EP 1 602 299 A1 or from the EP 0 122 764 A2 known.

The WO 03/077704 A1 describes a backpack with continuously adjustable back length, in which a harness which comprises two shoulder straps is connected to an endless belt which revolves around an upper deflecting means and a lower deflecting means.

In the EP 1 602 299 A1 A yoke plate, to which the two shoulder straps are attached, slides along two rods when the shoulder straps are to be adjusted in height. The yoke plate can be pulled down by means of a belt. The strap is guided through a passage which is formed in a back plate of the backpack. A toothed strip is arranged at one end of the strap, which can be gripped by a user of the rucksack. This toothed strip can be locked by means of a locking device.

A disadvantage here is the fact that with this type of back length adjustment the yoke plate is prevented from moving upwards. However, the yoke plate can also be moved downwards when the toothed strip is locked in the locking device. Furthermore, such an adjusting mechanism is comparatively stiff. This is due to the fact that the belt is guided through the passage in the back plate and therefore considerable frictional forces have to be overcome.

With the backpack of the EP 0 122 764 A2 For example, shoulder blade pads of shoulder straps of the rucksack are arranged on a transverse plate which is displaceable along two vertical rails. Runners are arranged on the rails, on which belts are attached to move the transverse plate. The runners are so tightly arranged on the rails that they can only be moved by applying a force.

In this backpack, too, the mechanism for adjusting the back length is therefore inevitably stiff.

The object of the present invention is therefore to create a backpack of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the stepless back length adjustment can be carried out particularly easily and smoothly.

This object is achieved by a backpack with the features of claim 1. Advantageous configurations with expedient further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

In the backpack according to the invention with a first shoulder strap and a second shoulder strap, respective end regions of the shoulder straps are connected to one another via a middle piece. In other words, the respective end regions of the shoulder straps are attached to the middle piece. The middle piece can be displaced continuously along at least one guide element in a vertical direction of the rucksack. The center piece is attached to a band which has a first free end and a second free end, the free ends are coupled to one another in a manner which enables a tensile force to be transmitted. The band is deflected on a first deflection element and on a second deflection element, the two deflection elements being opposite one another in the vertical direction of the rucksack. In other words, the band forms a closed loop which is guided over the first deflecting element and the second deflecting element. The belt is thus designed in the manner of a conveyor belt rotating around the deflection elements. A coupling point at which the two free ends of the belt are coupled to one another in the manner that allows the tensile force to be transmitted, or a coupling element that couples the two free ends of the belt to one another in the manner that enables the tensile force to be transmitted, moves accordingly in the stepless Adjustment of the back length of the backpack in the vertical direction of the backpack up or down.

By deflecting the band on the first deflecting element and on the second deflecting element, particularly good ease of movement is achieved when the middle piece is continuously moved in the vertical direction of the rucksack. Because only extremely low frictional forces have to be overcome at these two deflection elements or deflection points. This also makes the infinitely variable back length adjustment of the backpack particularly easy. Furthermore, buckles or the like do not need to be released at the two ends of the band in order to change the back length of the rucksack. Rather, even during the continuous adjustment of the back length of the rucksack, the end regions of the strap remain coupled to one another in the manner that enables the tensile force to be transmitted. In the present case, the back length of the rucksack is to be understood in particular as a distance between an imaginary line connecting the end regions of the shoulder straps and a lower end of a hip belt of the rucksack or a base of the rucksack.

The belt comprises a first layer and a second layer which can be moved in opposite directions by deflecting the belt around the deflection elements. In this case, a locking device is provided, which is used to fix the first layer in a reversible or non-destructive manner relative to the second layer. By means of the locking device can especially in particular, an upward movement of the middle piece in the upright direction of the rucksack can simply be prevented. However, it can also be provided that both the upward movement of the middle piece in the upward direction of the rucksack and a downward movement of the middle piece in the upward direction of the rucksack or even just the downward movement of the middle piece can be prevented by means of the locking device. Accordingly, by providing the locking device, the center piece can be fixed in a desired position.

This can ensure that the desired position of the center piece and thus a desired back length is maintained even when forces are exerted or act on components of the backpack, in particular on the shoulder straps and / or the center piece. The provision of the locking device accordingly increases the functionality of the rucksack with the stepless back length adjustment.

As a locking device not according to the invention, a Velcro fastener can be provided, for example, which can be formed in particular on the mutually facing surfaces of the two layers and / or between one of the layers and a back part of the rucksack. Additionally or alternatively, a locking device not according to the invention can be provided with a clip or the like which presses the two layers against one another. However, the locking device is particularly easy to operate because the locking device comprises a lever which can be moved from a locking position, in which the two positions are fixed relative to one another, into a release position. In the release position, the two layers can be moved in opposite directions.

Moving the lever from the locking position into the release position can be accomplished particularly easily by the user of the rucksack or by the wearer of the rucksack, in particular with one hand. The center piece can then be gripped with the other hand and moved up or down along the at least one guide element in the vertical direction of the backpack in order to set the desired back length.

The lever is arranged on a buckle element on which one of the deflection elements is formed. In this way, the lever disturbs particularly little, and a high degree of functional integration is achieved in the formation of the back length adjustment.

It has also been shown to be advantageous that the lever in the locking position rests on a cover part, by means of which a partial area of the buckle element is pressed against a back part of the rucksack. This is because an abutment is provided in this way, which means that the lever can be operated very easily and reliably. To release the locking device, the lever can then be moved particularly easily from the locking position into the release position, because the cover part prevents the entire buckle element from moving in the actuating direction of the lever.

The cover part can in particular be designed in the form of a plate in order to ensure particularly well that the partial area of the buckle element is pressed against the back part of the rucksack. For example, a plate made of a plastic such as polyethylene can be used as the cover part. The plate can in particular have wings resting on the back part of the rucksack and connected to the back part of the rucksack, which can be arranged on both sides of the band. By means of a cover part of this type, the buckle element can be fixed particularly well in the position which enables the lever to be operated easily, that is to say to move the lever from the locking position into the release position.

The buckle element can be fixed directly to the back part of the rucksack, for example by sewing a belt strap connected to the buckle element onto the back part. However, it can also be desirable to exchange the buckle element with the lever, for example in the event of damage or functional impairment of the lever and / or the buckle element.

It has therefore been shown to be further advantageous if the buckle element is held by means of a belt strap on a first belt buckle part, which is detachable with it is coupled to a second buckle part. The second belt buckle part is fixed to the back part of the rucksack.

The lever can have a plurality of teeth configured to hold the first layer. So the teeth can be in the locked position in the first layer. As a result, the first layer is also fixed reversibly or non-destructively releasably relative to the second layer. By providing such a lever, a particularly simple and functionally reliable locking device is provided.

The teeth can in particular be designed in such a way that the teeth do not allow an upward movement of the center piece in the vertical direction of the backpack when the locking device is brought into the locking position. In this way it is prevented that loading forces acting upwards on the shoulder straps, such as those that occur when carrying or putting on the loaded rucksack, do not lead to an undesired upward displacement of the middle section. In contrast, a downward alignment and / or curvature of the teeth can ensure that when the locking device is brought into the locking position, a downward movement of the center piece in the upward direction of the backpack is made more difficult due to the friction on the teeth, but is still possible. This simplifies the usability of the rucksack when adjusting the back length.

It has also been shown to be advantageous if the lever can be moved from the locking position into the release position against the force of a spring element. Then the lever automatically snaps back into the locking position after being released, and the two positions are fixed or locked relative to one another immediately after being released.

At least one fabric element attached to the middle piece preferably forms a tunnel through which the first layer is passed. Here, the first layer is connected to at least the at least one fabric element. In this way, a particularly robust and resilient fixation of the center piece on the band is achieved.

A particularly good ease of movement when adjusting the back length of the backpack is beneficial if the second layer is arranged outside the tunnel or the tunnel. Because this largely reduces the frictional forces when the back length of the backpack is continuously adjusted.

The two free ends of the band can be connected to one another via a buckle element. For example, the first free end can be fixed to the buckle element, for example by sewing, while the second free end is threaded into the buckle element. A triglide buckle, for example, can be used as a buckle element of this type, that is to say a buckle which has a frame and a web arranged, in particular in the middle, in the frame. In this way, it is particularly easy to ensure the coupling of the two free ends in the manner that allows the transmission of the tensile force.

Furthermore, the two free ends of the band can be designed as loops, which are connected to one another by means of a belt lock, for example. The coupling of the free ends of the strap, which enables the tensile force to be transmitted, can thus be achieved in a particularly simple manner by plugging together a first belt lock part and a second belt lock part of the belt lock.

It is also possible to thread the loops into a frame-like hook which, however, is not completely closed all round. Rather, a slot is formed in the, in particular essentially rectangular, frame of the hook, via which slot the loops can be hooked into the hook. Such a hook with a slot, in particular designed as a square ring, allows a simple and non-destructive detachable coupling of the free ends of the band to one another for the purpose of transmitting the tensile force.

The loops can also be connected to one another by means of a U-shaped hook, with the respective legs of the hook passing through the loops. Such a design of a coupling element for coupling the two free ends of the band in a manner that enables the transmission of the tensile force is provided for a particularly flat coupling element for the free ends of the band. In addition, the tape can be exchanged particularly easily if this is desired or necessary.

The legs of the hook are preferably secured against loosening from the loops by means of a securing element. For example, a ring, in particular a metal ring, can be held at one end of the one leg, and the end of the second leg can be inserted into the ring. In particular, a detent provided on the second leg can fix the securing element or the ring. Such a securing element can at the same time prevent the legs from moving away from one another in the event of a tensile load on the legs of the hook. This allows the length of the tape to be kept particularly constant. This in turn means that the desired back length, once set, is retained permanently.

One of the deflecting elements is preferably designed as a ring which is arranged in an upper region of a back part of the rucksack. This serves, on the one hand, for ease of movement when adjusting the back length. On the other hand, the deflecting element is particularly robust. In addition, this type of arrangement of the deflecting element makes it possible to achieve a particularly large adjustment path when adjusting the back length of the rucksack.

The ring is preferably covered by a cover element. Then the ring doesn't bother the user of the rucksack very much. For example, a tongue or tab, in particular formed from a fabric, behind which the ring is concealed, can be attached to a head recess of the back part. The ring is also protected from contamination. This is beneficial to the permanent ease of movement when adjusting the back length of the backpack.

The ring can be formed from a metal and / or from a plastic. In particular in the case of smaller or lighter rucksacks, for example rucksacks with a volume of less than 30 liters, it is advantageous with regard to the weight of the rucksack to use plastic as the material for the ring. In contrast, in the case of larger or heavy rucksacks, for example rucksacks with a volume of more than 50 liters, it is advantageous for the ring to be made of metal for reasons of stability.

If the ring is essentially rectangular, a particularly low-friction deflection element is ensured. In addition, the ring then takes up very little space in the upright direction of the backpack.

The middle piece is preferably displaceable in the vertical direction of the rucksack along two guide elements which have a first, constant distance from one another in a first area in which the middle piece is continuously displaceable. This parallelism of the guide elements in the first area ensures that the center piece can be moved particularly easily in the vertical direction.

However, the guide elements can have a second distance from one another in a second region, which is less than the first distance. In particular, the two guide elements can have the second distance from one another in the region of a hip belt of the rucksack. As a result, an improved adaptation to different hip belt systems can be achieved. In this second area, the distance between the guide elements does not need to be constant either. This is because the movement of the center piece when adjusting the back length takes place only in the first area.

In the case of the rucksack, however, especially if the rucksack is made smaller or lighter, separate support elements, for example in the form of rails, can be provided in addition to guide elements arranged parallel to one another, which serve to displace the center piece in the vertical direction.

In Fig. 1 a backpack 10 is shown which has a first shoulder strap 12 and a second shoulder strap 14. End areas of the shoulder straps 12, 14 are attached to a center piece 16. The middle piece 16 is continuously displaceable along two guide rails 18, 20 serving as guide elements in a vertical direction 22 of the rucksack 10, that is to say upwards or downwards. The middle piece 16 is also referred to as the shoulder strap core and at the same time ensures that the end regions of the shoulder straps 12, 14 are connected to one another. The middle piece 16 comprises a plate-like base body 24 (cf. Fig. 6 ), which can be provided, for example, by at least one substantially rectangular plate made of a plastic such as polyethylene. On this plate-like base body 24 are in Fig. 1 Cushions 26, 28 shown, which in the area of the shoulder blades (or in the area of the upper back) rest on the back of a user of the rucksack 10 when the user is wearing the rucksack 10.

The center piece 16 is in the present case attached to a band 30, of which in Fig. 1 a first layer 32 facing the user's back can be seen. However, the tape 30 also has a second layer 34, which in FIG Fig. 2 is shown and which in Fig. 1 is covered by the first layer 32. This second layer 34 of the band 30 is located between the first layer 32 and a back part 36 of the rucksack 10. In the variant of the rucksack 10 shown here, free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 are designed as loops (cf. Fig. 2 ). The free ends 38, 40 can be coupled to one another, for example by means of a U-shaped hook 42, in a manner which enables a tensile force to be transmitted. Through this coupling of the two free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 together, a closed or circumferential band 30 is provided, to which the middle piece 16 is attached.

The band 30 is deflected on a first deflection element in the form of a ring 44 and on a second deflection element, which in the case of FIG Fig. 1 shown variant of the backpack 10 is also designed as a ring 46 not according to the invention. The two rings 44, 46 are opposite one another as seen in the vertical direction 22 of the rucksack 10. In the present case, for example, the upper ring 44 is arranged in the upper region of the back part 36, specifically below a head recess 48 of the rucksack 10. The lower ring 46 or the lower deflecting element, in contrast, is in the Fig. 1 The shown variant of the backpack 10 is arranged above a central lumbar pad 50 in the area of a hip belt 52 of the backpack 10. The band 30, formed as a closed loop by the coupling of the free ends 38, 40 to one another, runs over these deflection elements in the form of the rings 44, 46 when the center piece 16 is shifted along the guide rails 18, 20. This deflection takes place with particularly little friction, so that the stepless adjustment of the back length of the backpack 10 can be carried out particularly easily.

Out Fig. 2 it can be seen that when the hook 42 is used to couple the free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 designed as loops with one another, respective legs 54, 56 of the U-shaped hook 42 can pass through the loops. Where the legs 54, 56 emerge from the loops, a securing element in the form of a metal locking ring 58 is attached, which holds the ends of the two legs 54, 56 together. For example, the securing ring 58 can be passed through a passage opening which is formed in the leg 56 and held in a receptacle on the other leg 54.

However, it is also possible to close the two free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 by means of a buckle 60, which in FIG Fig. 3 is shown to couple in the manner which enables the transmission of the tensile force. Such a buckle element can in particular be designed in the manner of a frame, in which side parts 62 of the frame can be coupled to one another via a web 64. For example, the free End 38 on the buckle 60, which is in the present case designed as a three-bar buckle, is fixed, in particular by sewing, and the free end 40 can be threaded into the buckle 60. However, the two free ends 38, 40 can also be fixed to the buckle 60 or threaded into the buckle 60. Furthermore, it is conceivable to couple the free ends 38, 40 of the strap 30 to one another in a non-destructive, detachable manner by means of a belt lock or a plug lock. A (preferably rectangular) ring with a slot for hanging in the free ends 38, 40 of the band 30, which are designed as closed loops, can also be used as a coupling element for transmitting the tensile force. The webs forming the ring, in particular the square ring, or the frame can also have a rectangular, in particular square, cross-section.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the two free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 are coupled to one another by means of a Velcro fastener. A coupling point formed by the Velcro fastener, at which the two free ends 38, 40 of the band 30 are connected to one another in the manner permitting the transmission of the tensile force, or a coupling element in the form of the hook 42 or the buckle 60 moves accordingly during stepless adjustment the back length of the backpack 10 in the vertical direction 22 of the backpack 10 upwards or downwards.

The lower deflecting element viewed in the vertical direction 22 of the rucksack 10 is designed as a buckle element 66, which is exemplified in FIG Fig. 4 is shown. For example, the buckle element 66 has a web 68 around which the belt 30 runs or at which the belt 30 is deflected and thus forms the two layers 32, 34. Another web of the buckle element 66 is fixed to the back part 36 of the rucksack 10 by means of a belt strap 70.

At the in Fig. 4 The variant shown of the deflecting element also has the buckle element 66 a locking device 72 which comprises a lever 74. The lever 74 is pivotable about a pivot axis 76 and has teeth on its side facing the first position 32. In Fig. 4 the lever 74 is shown in its locking position in which the teeth are hooked in the first position 32. This prevents the belt 30 from being able to revolve around the deflecting elements. If, on the other hand, the lever 74 is moved away from the back part 36, i.e. moved into its release position, the teeth no longer engage in the first position 32 and the band 30 can unhindered around the deflection elements, for example in the form of the web 68 and the ring 44 ( compare Fig. 1 ) circulate. The lever 74 of the locking device 72 can in particular be held in the locking position by means of a spring element.

Especially when looking at Fig. 5 it can be seen that the lever 74 in its locking position rests on a plate-like cover part 78, by means of which a partial area of the buckle element 66 is pressed against the back part 36 of the rucksack 10. The plate-like cover part 78, which in the present case is designed in the shape of a butterfly and accordingly has wings arranged on both sides of the band 30, in the present case ensures that only the lever 74 moves away from the back part 36 when the lever 74 is moved into the release position.

Out Fig. 5 it can also be seen that the back part 36 of the rucksack 10 can be reinforced by further plates 80, 82. The further plates 80, 82 are provided, in particular, in a region of the back part 36 in which the center piece 16 can be adjusted in the vertical direction 22. According to Fig. 5 the two guide rails 18, 20 are preferably arranged in parallel in a first region 84 in which the central piece 16 is displaced during the stepless back length adjustment. The guide rails 18, 20 thus have a constant spacing 86 from one another in the first region 84. In contrast, in a second area, namely in the present case in the area of the hip belt 52, the guide rails 18, 20 are spaced less from one another. The guide rails 18, 20 accordingly have respective bends in the plane of the back part 36. In addition, the guide rails 18, 20 are preferably acted upon with a bend perpendicular to the plane of the back part 36. In the area of the hip belt 52, the guide rails 18, 20 are arranged closer to the back of the user of the rucksack 10 than in the upper area 84.

Out Fig. 5 it can also be seen that the buckle element 66 (cf. Fig. 4 ), of which in Fig. 5 only the lever 74 is shown, can be fixed by means of the belt strap 70 to a first belt buckle part 88, which can be detached with a second buckle part 90 is coupled. The second belt buckle part 90 is in turn fastened to the back part 36 of the backpack by means of a belt strap 92. In this variant, the buckle element 66 can be exchanged particularly easily.

Out Fig. 6 it can be seen that further, in particular pocket-shaped or strip-shaped elements 94 can be provided in the area of the plate-like base body 24 of the center piece 16. Such elements 94 can be provided for connecting the shoulder straps 12, 14 to the middle piece 16 or for connecting the shoulder straps 12, 14 to the middle piece 16. In addition, such elements 94 can form a pocket for the plate-like base body 24. The center piece 16 can furthermore have tunnels 110, formed from fabric elements or the like, for the rails 18, 20. In addition, in the present case two fabric elements 96 fastened to the middle piece 16 form respective tunnels through which the first layer 32 of the band 30 is passed. In the area of the fabric elements 96, the first layer 32 of the tape 30 is also sewn to the center piece 16 or fastened in another suitable manner. The second layer 34 of the tape 30 can also be passed through the tunnels which are formed by the fabric elements 96. However, the second layer 34 is preferably located outside the tunnels formed by the fabric elements 96. This is because the two layers 32, 34 can be moved relative to one another in opposite directions with particularly little friction when the center piece 16 is shifted along the guide rails 18, 20 in the vertical direction 22 of the rucksack 10.

Out Fig. 7 it can be seen that preferably the ring 44, which serves as an upper deflecting element and is essentially rectangular in the present case, can be hidden behind a cover element in the form of a tab 98 or the like. The ring 44 is then well protected and contact of the ring 44 with the neck or head of the user of the backpack 10 is avoided.

Out Fig. 8 It can be seen that pockets 100 can be provided in the area of the head recess 48, which can be connected directly to a back plate 102 of the back part 36 of the rucksack 10 and into which end regions of the guide rails 18, 20 are inserted. Furthermore, the guide rails 18, 20 can be passed through further passages or tunnels 104 in order to fix their position on the back plate 102, which can also be directly connected to the back plate 102. Further tunnels 106 or pockets can be provided in the region of the lumbar pad 50. In particular, the other end regions of the guide rails 18, 20 can be introduced into such tunnels 106 or pockets which are provided in the region of the lumbar pad 50. In addition, further tunnels 108 can be provided in the area of the hip belt 52. The center piece 16 is guided on the guide rails 18, 20 via the further tunnels 110 formed from fabric elements or the like. In particular where the guide rails 18, 20 run in the lumbar region, further reinforcements, in particular in the form of plastic plates and the like, can be provided. In addition, reinforcing plates can be provided where the ring 44 is attached in order to ensure that the ring 44 is held particularly well.

According to Fig. 1 a pointer flag 112 is preferably arranged on one side of the center piece 16, which in Fig. 9 is shown schematically. Furthermore, scale lines 114 and / or symbols 116 can be provided on the back part 36 of the backpack 10, from which it can be read off the length to which the back length of the backpack 10 is set. For example, symbols 116 may be formed as the letters L, M, and S to indicate back length.

The back length adjustment of the rucksack 10 can in particular be provided in an area which in the present case is delimited by the scale lines 114 which are assigned to the symbols 116 L and S. This adjustment range between the scale lines 114 on the symbols 116 in the form of the letters L and S can have a length, measured in the vertical direction 22 of the backpack 10, of between approximately 8 cm and approximately 20 cm. For example, the length of the adjustment range can be between approximately 10 cm and approximately 16 cm. In particular, the length of the adjustment range or a distance between the two scale lines 114, on which the symbol 116 in the form of the letter L on the one hand and the symbol 116 in the form of the letter S on the other hand, can be approximately 12 cm.

By appropriately placing the coupling element for coupling the two free ends 38, 40 to one another, for example in the form of the U-shaped hook 42 (cf. Fig. 2 ), it can be ensured that such a coupling element cannot be seen either in the highest position of the middle piece 16 or in the lowest position of the middle piece 16. This is because the coupling element can be in the respective positions by means of a pad 118 of the rucksack 10 arranged approximately in the region of the kidneys (cf. Fig. 1 ) or be covered by the middle piece 16.
