Description

Objet de l'inventionSubject of the invention

Although different fields of application can be envisaged, the present invention relates more particularly to (preferably self-propelled) apparatuses with thermal or electric motor which allow the suction of any type of urban or industrial waste and usually called urban vacuum cleaners or industrial.

The present invention relates more particularly to a waste separation device, installed in or on the vacuum cleaner, which allows sorting of waste on the basis of a number of characteristics.

Arrière-plan technologiqueTechnological background

Self-propelled devices that serve as urban or industrial vacuum cleaners are mainly used by cleaning agents to clean urban, industrial and / or recreational sites. This type of device is usually equipped with a suction hose or nozzle which is handled by the cleaning agent and the end of which comes into contact with the areas to be cleaned, which allows direct suction of the waste in view to bring them to a container suitable for this purpose and placed on the device. In known devices Today, waste is not separated, in particular according to its nature or its composition. Indeed, sorting between objects according to their internal properties from the collection of waste would be desirable. Providing a sorting device in or on the vacuum cleaner represents a considerable challenge, since it is necessary to take into account the specific constraints of the device, for example the often standardized dimensions of the containers, as well as the diameters of the pipes and hoses used to bring the waste to the container. These diameters can be of the order of 10 cm or more, to ensure the ability of the machine to vacuum objects of variable size. The present invention aims to provide an apparatus which meets these requirements.
The document DE4305006 describes a device for separating waste, more particularly plastic bottles. , in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.
The device comprises a vertical nozzle, which receives the bottles at its upper end, and which is provided at its lower end with a pipe which is pivotable about a horizontal axis, and which is positionable in either among three angular positions. The pivoting of the pipe to one of these positions allows the bottles to be placed in one of three containers A, B or C. The selection from among the containers is made automatically on the basis of the material of the bottles. This material is detected by spectrometric analysis using a detector mounted on the vertical nozzle, upstream of the swivel pipe.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The present invention relates to a waste separation apparatus as described in the claims. It is a device applicable more particularly but not exclusively to a vacuum cleaner urban or industrial where the waste is sucked up and then collected in a container.

Throughout this description, the terms “proximal end” and “distal end” are defined with respect to the direction of transfer of the waste or objects in the sorting apparatus, therefore the objects pass first through the proximal end, then through the distal end. The apparatus according to the invention comprises a hose whose proximal end receives the waste and the distal end is held by a ring which is pivotable so that the ring can be positioned in one of several predefined positions. This variable positioning allows the waste to be placed in different containers or compartments, depending on their characteristics, for example their nature or their composition. The device can be controlled manually or automatically on the basis of information given by electronic or optical detectors.

Description détaillée de l'inventionDetailed description of the invention

The present invention will be described in more detail in one or more preferred embodiments of the invention with reference to the appended figures and for which elements or details can be combined. The same is true as regards a combination of details shown in the figures which represent the state of the art with the essential elements of the present invention.

The figure 1 represents a general view of an urban or industrial vacuum cleaner as known today. The vacuum cleaner is shown diagrammatically by the reference 1. It is provided with a suction nozzle 10 which will be manipulated by the operator or cleaning agent so as to be in contact at a first end with the floor or the walls to be vacuumed , the second end being connected to a flexible hose 20, essentially of the same diameter as that of the nozzle 10. The second end of said preferably flexible hose 20 will be connected directly to the vacuum cleaner 1. We also see in the figure 1 a container 11 collecting the waste, a filter 12, and the means of transport 13.

The principle of separation which is the basis of the invention is then illustrated in figure 2 without, however, showing all the features of the invention. Inside the vacuum cleaner, the preferably flexible pipe 20 is connected to a preferably rigid pipe 21 which directs the incoming waste in an essentially vertical direction. At the end of the rigid pipe 21 is a hose 22, the proximal end said flexible 22 being fixed on the pipe 21, and therefore configured to receive the incoming waste, the distal end of the flexible 22 being connected to a ring 23 having a horizontal opening through which the waste will pass. The hose 22 is therefore a flexible hose which allows the passage of waste through the hose. The ring 23 can be moved between at least two positions so as to deposit the waste in one or other of the containers 24 and 25.

The specific means for implementing this general principle are described below. The figure 3 shows the apparatus according to a preferred embodiment of the invention. The hose 22 is not shown in this figure so as not to prevent the complete view of the other elements. This hose 22 will be fixed to a pipe 26, for example a PVC pipe a few centimeters high, which itself is connected to the ring 23. The pipe 26 and the opening of the ring 23 represent a diameter which allows the passage of waste of variable size, for example a diameter between 10 and 20 cm. According to this embodiment, the ring 23 constitutes an assembly of elements which allows the free rotation of the pipe 26 inside the ring 23, and which will be described in detail later.

The main characteristic of the invention lies in the way in which the ring 23 and with it the distal end of the flexible 22 (via the pipe 26) is moved into a plurality of predefined positions to allow sorting of waste. In the embodiment shown in figure 3 , three positions are provided for sorting the waste in three containers (not shown), for separating the objects according to their internal properties. The ring 23 is adapted to be able to perform a pivoting movement around a vertical axis 31 located outside (opening) of the ring. This pivoting is actuated by an actuator which in the embodiment shown in the figure 3 includes an electric motor 32 and a 90 ° gear transmission (35). By this pivoting, the ring 23 will be positioned in one of the three predefined sorting positions. The actuator represented by the references 32 and 35 is mounted on a frame 30, itself fixedly mounted on the vacuum cleaner.

The position of the ring 23 is preferably checked using three electronic sensors 33 mounted on the chassis 30. The ring 23 is provided with a flat metal extension 34 which extends around the average periphery of the ring 23 while remaining parallel to the plane of the ring 26, and which will be positioned opposite the sensors 33 when the ring 23 reaches one of the three sorting positions. The sensors 33 preferably operate according to the principle of non-contact detection, known per se to those skilled in the art (inductive proximity detectors). Signal processing means, known per se, are provided for detecting the signals generated by the sensors 33 and deducing therefrom the position of the ring 23. Control means, also known per se, are provided for adjusting the positioning of the ring 23 by the actuator 32/35.

The actuator 32/35 preferably operates so that the movement is blocked when the supply to the motor 32 is interrupted. This makes it possible to easily maintain the position of the ring 26 when one of the predefined positions is reached. The engine must be restarted quickly, so as to be able to correct an unwanted movement of the ring, for example by actuating the movement of the ring towards the correct sorting position. A type of combination motor + transmission suitable for this purpose is a DC worm gearmotor.

Cette configuration évite une torsion excessive du flexible 22.The figure 4 shows an exploded view of the components of the device. It can be seen that the chassis 30 comprises a central part 40 provided with a hole or orifice 43 which allows the passage of a rod 36 on which the various elements of the ring will be mounted so as to be able to pivot around the axis 31. The chassis also comprises arms 41 emanating from the central part 40 which carry the sensors 33 at their ends, so as to maintain the sensors in positions which are distributed around the axis 31. The ring 23 comprises several elements. The pipe 26 is fixed at its own distal end inside a ring 44 which is held in vertical position by the two plates 45 which respectively have an opening with a diameter less than the outside diameter of the ring 44 and greater than the diameter outside of pipe 26, allowing rotation of ring 44 and pipe 26 about their own vertical axis. In the plane of the ring 44, the latter is held by a plate 46 having an opening with a diameter greater than the outside diameter of the ring 44 so as to keep the ring 44 inside the set of plates 45 and 46, while allowing the free rotation of the ring 44 around its own central axis. The flat extension 34 already described, which will be positioned opposite the sensors 33, is part of the plate 46. The plate 46 could be replaced by two plates of adequate thickness. Plates 47 of anti-friction material are preferably provided on the two faces of the ring 44, these plates 47 having the same shape as the plates 45. The assembly is secured by screwing via the holes or orifices 48 provided in the various elements . The material of the anti-friction plates 47 will facilitate the movement of the ring 44 inside the assembled structure. This structure therefore allows the free rotation of the ring 44 and therefore of the pipe 26 around their own central axis during the pivoting of the assembly around the axis 31. This configuration avoids excessive twisting of the flexible 22.

Sorting will be governed on the basis of certain characteristics of the waste collected.

According to one embodiment, the actuation of the separation device is triggered manually by the operator or cleaning agent who will have access to control means such as one or more buttons or a screen, by which he can change the position of the hose 22 according to the type of waste it collects.

According to another embodiment, the selection is made automatically on the basis of a detection of certain characteristics, for example linked to the nature of the waste by electronic or optical detectors. Preferably, the detectors are positioned at the level of the pipe 21 which is in this case provided with openings adapted to receive the detectors. The types of detectors that can be used are, for example, detectors known in the art, capable of detecting the presence of metallic components or detectors of non-metallic components such as NIR (Near Infra Red) detectors. The signals generated by these detectors will be transferred to a control module which will control the actuation of the apparatus of the invention according to the components detected. In general, NIR or equivalent type detectors have a higher reaction time than metal component detectors. For this reason, the NIR or equivalent detectors are preferably installed further from the proximal end of the hose 22 than the metal component detectors.

Preferably, anti-vibration means such as supports made of a damping material are provided to limit the vibration forces acting on the detectors during the operation of the vacuum cleaner.

The pivoting movement of the ring 26 makes it possible to have a compact structure, with an axis of rotation 31 in the central position, which makes it possible to position the distal end of the hose 22 in a plurality of positions located around the axis 31. This device is therefore applicable under the same constraints to which a waste suction device as shown in the figure 1 . The device can of course be used in devices of different types and sizes, while maintaining the advantages mentioned above. For example, an apparatus can be envisaged in which two, three or even more positions are provided around the axis 31 for sorting in a corresponding number of containers. Variants are also possible for other characteristics of the invention. For example, an electric motor could be used to be directly linked to the pivot axis 31 instead of a motor which acts via a 90 ° transmission. The pivot axis is preferably oriented perpendicular to the opening of the ring 23, as is the case in the embodiments shown in the figures. This does not exclude the implementation of embodiments according to the invention in which an angle other than 90 ° is applied between the axis 31 and the opening of the ring 23. The proximal end of the hose 22 is preferably maintained in a fixed position relative to the chassis 30, although a free position of this end, preferably limited by constraints is not excluded.
