Durch die wenigstens eine definierte Offenstellung und/oder die definierte Schließstellung des Scharniers verbessert sich somit der Komfort der Duschabtrennung und die Benützung bzw. auch das Reinigen der Duschabtrennung wird erleichtert. Durch die kompakte Bauweise des Scharniers werden Oberflächen, auf denen sich Verunreinigungen ansammeln können, vermieden. Auch von der Kontur des Scharnieres abstehende Komponenten, wie beispielsweise Hebel oder Umlenkmechanismen, werden vermieden. Zudem ergibt sich aus der gedrungenen Konstruktion auch ein optisch ansprechendes Design. Durch den einfachen, nach außen hin abgekapselten Aufbau des Scharnieres wird eine lange Lebensdauer des Scharniers erreicht.
