Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sealing tape, particularly for sealing joints.
- Sealing tapes or sealing tapes are known from the prior art, which have a self-adhesive layer and a plastic tape serving as a carrier and in which an adhesive layer is covered by a removable cover film, also referred to as a liner, before the tape is used. It is also known that these cover films are slotted in the longitudinal direction in order to make it easier to stick the sealing tape.
- Such sealing tapes are used, for example, for closing, sealing and gluing joints in house construction, but in particular also for gluing joints in corners and edges. This can be, for example, window joints.
- a sealing tape for sealing connecting joints between a window frame and a window reveal of a building.
- the sealing tape has an elastically deformable membrane made of plastic as the carrier material.
- a layer of fleece, for example, is preferably laminated on both sides of this membrane as an adhesive material, which is elastically stretchable in the transverse direction of the sealing tape in order to be able to accommodate movements between the window frame and the window reveal.
- the sealing tape also has two layers of adhesive Attach sealing tape to the window frame and the window reveal. Each of the adhesive layers is provided with cover films.
- the film tape comprises a functional membrane, which has on its underside either a self-adhesive layer applied over the entire surface, which is provided with a removable cover film, or two self-adhesive strips that are spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction, have different widths and run in the longitudinal direction, each of which is provided with a removable cover film.
- the functional membrane preferably has a fleece layer over the entire surface.
- EP 1 339 924 B1 relates to a self-adhesive tape for closing and sealing joints in house construction.
- the tape has a carrier layer with an adhesive layer, which is provided with a removable cover film.
- the tape has at least one lateral longitudinal section in which the carrier layer and the adhesive layer are perforated.
- EP 0 028 771 B1 is an adhesive tape consisting of a carrier film in the form of an embossed film and an adhesive layer on an outside of the carrier film.
- the carrier film has, at least on one outside, profiling elevations formed by embossing the film over the entire length and width of the carrier film.
- the adhesive layer is on the side with the embossed depressions, which means that the adhesive tape can be rolled off a roll with relatively little effort and with little noise.
- the general object of the present invention is to provide a sealing tape, in particular for sealing joints, which is easier to handle than sealing tapes from the prior art. This object is achieved according to the invention by the subjects of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments and further developments are the subject of the subclaims.
- a sealing tape according to the invention extends in a predetermined longitudinal direction and in a transverse or width direction perpendicular thereto. Furthermore, the sealing tape has a base support which is in the longitudinal direction and at least in sections in the Extends in the width direction, wherein the sealing tape has at least two strips extending in the longitudinal direction, each of which has a first surface and a second surface which lies opposite this first surface, and these first surfaces are arranged on the same side of the sealing tape. Furthermore, at least the first surface of the first strip differs from the first surface of the second strip in terms of its adhesive properties. In addition, the second strip has an adhesive element on both surfaces.
- first surfaces and also the second surfaces
- the indication of being arranged on the same side is therefore only to be understood in geometric terms or with regard to the two opposite surfaces or sides of the sealing tape.
- a sealing tape which has different adhesive properties at least in the width direction or perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, i.e. the extension direction, or is composed of strips which have such different adhesive properties. Both strips extend in the said longitudinal direction and these strips are preferably also parallel to one another.
- first strip can be formed by the base carrier or its material.
- This first strip can also be formed by coating or applying to the base carrier(s).
- the second strip can also be designed in different ways.
- the second strip can thus be formed by an element glued to the base support or by an element glued to the base support.
- the second strip can also be formed by a coating arranged on (or on) the base support, such as in particular but not exclusively a self-adhesive coating.
- strip used in the context of this application is to be understood in particular geometrically as a section of the sealing tape, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape, but can extend over the entire width in the width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape , but can advantageously only extend over part of this width.
- first two surfaces point in the same direction, so they are oriented upwards when looking at the band, for example.
- the two second surfaces point in the other direction, i.e. downwards when looking at the band in the same way.
- the first surfaces merge into one another.
- This transition can in particular be a transition that forms a sharp boundary between the two surfaces or that is formed along a line and/or one first surface directly adjoins the other first surface.
- the second surfaces merge into one another or a second surface adjoins the other second surface.
- the number of layers and/or layers arranged next to one another differs in the different sections or strips.
- only one layer can be provided in the first strip, which is formed, for example, by the base support itself.
- Several layers, for example two layers, can also be provided in the second strip, for example in the form of an adhesive strip which is formed on the base support.
- Three layers can also be provided, for example if two adhesive strips are glued to the base support.
- the number of layers can also change within a strip in the width direction, for example if adhesive strips are glued to one edge of the base support.
- At least one of the surfaces of at least the second strip has an adhesive coating.
- the adhesives used can be different adhesives, such as hot melt adhesives, acrylate adhesives, and the like.
- at least in some areas of at least one surface no liner is present. For some defined self-adhesives, it is possible that a liner or cover layer is no longer present in the product when delivered.
- At least one adhesive coating of the second strip preferably has a continuous adhesive layer. Furthermore, at least one adhesive coating has at least one Strip and in particular the second strip have an adhesion strength (against steel, according to Afera 4001, measured at 23 ° C and a pulling speed of 300mm / min) which is between 10N / 25mm and 45N / 25mm, preferably between 10N / 25mm and 35N / mm and particularly preferably between 12N/25mm.
- the first strip is essentially formed by the base support.
- the base support preferably also has opposing surfaces with different physical properties. It is therefore possible for the base support to be coated on one surface or side.
- the base support is particularly preferably provided with a non-stick coating on this surface.
- the base support it is also possible for the base support to extend along the entire width.
- the second strip it is also possible for the second strip to be glued to the base support.
- two strips it would also be possible for two strips to be glued to the base support, which accommodate sections of the base support between them.
- the strips it is possible for the strips to have different carriers or carrier materials, but it would also be possible for the sealing tape to have a uniform carrier, but in particular with different coatings.
- the base support is composed of at least two and preferably several layers and/or components.
- the base support preferably has a nonwoven element.
- a film is particularly preferably arranged on one side or surface of this nonwoven element. This film is particularly preferably glued to the fleece element.
- An adhesive layer is therefore preferably provided between the nonwoven element of the base support and the film element of the base support.
- an adhesive layer is arranged over the entire surface of the nonwoven element.
- the second strip is double-sided adhesive or coated on both sides with an adhesive layer. It is possible that this second strip has the same adhesive strengths on its surfaces, but it would also be conceivable that the adhesive strengths differ from one another. It would also be possible for the adhesives on the respective surfaces to be optimized for different materials to which the sealing tape is to be attached. In other words, the second strip has an adhesive element on both surfaces.
- cover tape in particular a liner, is arranged on one side of the adhesive strip.
- the sealing tape has a thickness (defined in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and the width direction) which is smaller than 4 cm, preferably smaller than 3 cm, preferably smaller than 2 cm, preferably smaller than 1 cm, preferably smaller than 0.5cm and particularly preferably smaller than 0.3cm.
- first surface of both the first strip and the second strip could be completely covered with self-adhesive and liner on one side.
- the narrow self-adhesive strip can be stuck to the base support, particularly on the side opposite the liner (as a second strip), and a liner can be removed and removed.
- the sealing tape in the area of the second strip does not require a liner, since the liner is already on the base support and therefore on the respective back.
- this adhesive strip is then preferably applied to the film side, which preferably has essentially the width of the second strip.
- this adhesive strip can be a film strip, in particular a film strip with at least one adhesive surface, such as a so-called TesaO film.
- the exposed adhesive of the self-adhesive strip can be wrapped against this strip.
- At least one of the strips is preferably coated on at least one side with an adhesive layer.
- the base support it is also possible for the base support to be coated with an adhesive layer at least on one side and preferably on exactly one side.
- the sealing tape is manufactured as a sealing tape roll.
- the longitudinal direction of the sealing tape is rolled up or, in the case of a roll, extends in a spiral shape.
- the width direction is perpendicular to this.
- the liner is dispensed with and that it can be removed during production.
- a strip-shaped cover element is arranged on a surface of the second strip.
- a strip-shaped cover element is arranged on at least one surface of the first strip.
- a further liner can be dispensed with.
- This cover element preferably has adhesive properties.
- the cover element can be designed as a siliconized surface, or as silicone paper.
- the base carrier is a non-woven carrier or a carrier made from a non-woven fabric.
- the base carrier advantageously has not only a fleece.
- the use of only a fleece for the base carrier is sometimes disadvantageous.
- a driving rain tightness of at least 600 Pa and a defined, low air permeability are required.
- a fleece/film composite (VFV) is advantageous for this purpose.
- the foil is wdd-variable.
- the base support is therefore particularly advantageously a fleece-film composite.
- no cover element is formed on at least one surface of the second strip, ie this area is designed without a liner.
- this surface lies directly against the cover element of the other surface in the rolled-up state.
- the cover element is arranged between two adhesive surfaces and contacts both of these surfaces.
- This cover element is preferably designed in such a way that it can optionally be removed from one of the two surfaces when the adhesive tape is unrolled. For example, when unrolling the sealing tape, a first surface can first be exposed and the sealing tape can then be glued to a building with this surface. The cover element can then be removed from the second surface (which is opposite the first surface). In this way, the sealing tape can be pressed onto the building in a state in which there is still a masking tape on the adhesive surface and therefore no need to reach into an adhesive surface.
- the adhesive tape can also be unrolled in a different way, so that the above-mentioned second surface is first exposed and this second surface is pressed against the structure.
- the cover element can then be removed from the first surface.
- one of the two adhesive surfaces can be exposed first. More precisely, for this purpose, only the cover element can initially be removed from a roll of sealing tape, preferably pulled off exactly by one winding of the sealing tape. If the rolled-up sealing tape is unwound further from this position, the cover element will be on the opposite surface.
- the adhesive strengths of the two surfaces on which the cover element is arranged are therefore preferably of a similar size. This relates in particular to the strength of adhesion to the cover element. These adhesion strengths preferably differ by less than 40%, preferably by less than 30%, preferably by less than 20%. In this way, the user can determine from which of the two surfaces the cover element should first be removed.
- the two opposing surfaces of the cover element (which contact the above-mentioned adhesive surfaces) are preferably designed in the same way.
- the cover element when the sealing tape is unrolled, the cover element can be removed either first from the first surface of the second strip or first from the second surface of the second strip.
- the first surface of the first strip also differs from the second surface of the first strip in at least one physical property.
- This property is, in particular, an adhesion force or adhesive strength.
- the surfaces it would also be possible for the surfaces to differ due to different surface materials or in terms of other properties such as material density.
- exactly one surface of the first strip is provided with a coating and in particular with an adhesive coating.
- the other surface is advantageously not provided with a coating.
- the second strip has a smaller width than the first strip. It is possible for the widths of the first and second strips to be in a ratio of at least 1.5:1, preferably at least 2.0:1, preferably at least 3.0:1, particularly preferably at least 4.0 : 1 and particularly preferably at least 5.0: 1.
- the present invention is further directed to a method for producing a sealing tape of the type described above.
- a base support is first provided which extends in a longitudinal direction and a width direction perpendicular thereto.
- at least one self-adhesive strip is attached and in particular glued to the base support, this self-adhesive strip also extending in the longitudinal direction, and a strip-shaped cover element being arranged on at least one surface of this self-adhesive strip.
- this attachment of the self-adhesive strip creates a sealing tape with at least two strips extending in the longitudinal direction, each of which has a first surface and a second surface which is opposite this first surface, the second strip having an adhesive element on both surfaces
- a strip-shaped cover element is arranged on at least one surface of the second strip and a strip-shaped cover element is arranged on at least one surface of the first strip.
- At least one cover element is separated or removed from the base support and/or the self-adhesive strip, so that no cover element is arranged on at least one surface of the second strip.
- the resulting sealing tape is wound up into a roll of sealing tape, such that when the sealing tape is rolled up, a cover element adhesively contacts both surfaces of the second strip and lies between these two surfaces.
- a cover strip is removed during production and the sealing tape is rolled up after this cover strip has been removed.
- a fleece as a base support to be provided with a self-adhesive coating and a liner over the entire surface on one side (and/or one surface).
- a narrow self-adhesive strip is stuck on the back of this fleece, a liner is removed and removed.
- the liner strip removed in this way or the cover element itself it is possible and preferred for the liner strip removed in this way or the cover element itself to be wound up.
- the base support it would also be possible for the base support to have no self-adhesive coating or no full-surface self-adhesive coating.
- one film side (or film surface) of the fleece/film composite to be produced in this way is exposed.
- an adhesive strip to this film side (or film surface), which preferably has at least the width of the self-adhesive strip.
- This can be, for example, a film such as scotch tape or the like.
- the adhesive of the self-adhesive strip that has been exposed (in particular by removing the cover element) is preferably wound against this adhesive strip.
- the at least one tape-like self-adhesive strip it is also possible to attach an adhesive coating to an area of the base support. In this case, through This adhesive coating made the second area.
- the (preferably band-like) self-adhesive strip is glued in an adhesive section which also extends in the longitudinal direction.
- This adhesive section advantageously has a smaller width than the base support itself and preferably this adhesive section also has a smaller width than the self-adhesive strip.
- said self-adhesive strip is coated on both sides with an adhesive.
- the self-adhesive strip (preferably tape-like) is therefore preferably designed to be adhesive on both sides.
- a cover element (a so-called liner) is arranged on at least one side (or surface) of the self-adhesive strip. This cover element is advantageously removed.
- a second self-adhesive strip it is also possible for a second self-adhesive strip to be stuck on.
- the base carrier is advantageously located between the first self-adhesive strip and the second self-adhesive strip.
- These two self-adhesive strips are preferably also stuck together.
- These two self-adhesive strips are advantageously designed in the same way and in particular have the same width.
- the base support is transported in the longitudinal direction during production.
- the at least one self-adhesive strip is also advantageously transported in this longitudinal direction.
- said adhesive section has a smaller width than the two strips.
- the roll of sealing tape formed in this way is preferably cut. This is preferably cut perpendicular to a direction of rotation of the roll.
- a large number of self-adhesive strips are applied in parallel to the base support.
- FIG 1 shows an oblique view of a sealing tape 1 according to the invention.
- This sealing tape 1 has a base support 2, which is designed here as a fleece.
- This base support extends in a longitudinal direction L and in a width direction B perpendicular thereto.
- the reference numbers 4 and 6 identify two strips which also extend in the longitudinal direction L and in the width direction B.
- the first surface 4a of the first strip is formed by the fleece itself (and preferably a fleece side of the fleece-film composite).
- the corresponding back 4b is in Figure 1 not visible.
- the reference number 6a denotes a first surface of the second strip 6. This first surface is formed in particular by a self-adhesive layer.
- the reference number 8 denotes a cover element, which, however, can also be removed during production.
- the width of the strip 6 is smaller than the width of the strip 4.
- Figure 2 shows a view along line AA Figure 1 a first embodiment of a sealing tape according to the invention.
- the two sections or strips 4 and 6 can be seen.
- the respective surfaces 4a and 4b of the first strip can also be seen here, as well as the two surfaces 6a and 6b of the second strip.
- Reference number 14 denotes a coating on the base support 2.
- the reference numbers 16 and 18 indicate two self-adhesive strips which hold the base support 2 between them in a first area 42 of the first strip 4 (or the sealing tape). In a second area 44 (of the sealing tape), these self-adhesive strips 16 and 18 are glued directly to one another. These two areas 42 and 44 are preferably arranged next to each other in the width direction.
- the reference numeral 22 denotes a further cover element, which is arranged directly on the self-adhesive strip 16 in the area 6a.
- Both the self-adhesive strip 16 and the self-adhesive strip 18 are preferably designed as double-sided adhesive tapes.
- the self-adhesive strips 16 and 18 can be completely covered with silicone paper when they are applied to the base support. Then one of them is preferably subtracted in its full width, preferably not just in area 22.
- Figure 3 shows a further representation (shown here exploded for better clarity) of a further embodiment of a sealing tape 1 according to the invention.
- a continuous base support 2 is provided here, but here it extends along the entire width B.
- An adhesive layer is arranged over the entire surface of this base support 2.
- Figure 3 the structure is shown in an explosive manner.
- a first cover element 24 and a second cover element 26 are arranged on this full-surface self-adhesive layer, which forms the first surface 4b, 6b.
- a slot S is formed between these. This means that the cover elements 24 and 26 can be removed separately.
- the cover element 24 is therefore located above the area 4b and the cover element 26 is located above the area 6b.
- a self-adhesive tape 16 is arranged on the underside of the base support 2, that is to say in part of its surface. When rolled up, this self-adhesive tape or self-adhesive strip 16 comes to rest directly on the cover tape 26. This means that a cover element can also be dispensed with in the area 6a.
- Fig. 4 shows another view of a sealing tape according to the invention.
- both reference numbers a and b have only been shown on the fleece element 25.
- reference number a denotes the top
- reference number b denotes the bottom.
- the base support 2 in particular is shown in more detail.
- This base support 2 here has a fleece element 25, on the underside of which an adhesive 32 is arranged.
- an adhesive 32 is arranged.
- a film 28 is glued to the underside of the non-woven element.
- the nonwoven element 25, the adhesive 32 and the film 28 thus together form the base support 2.
- the reference numeral 16 in turn denotes a self-adhesive strip and the reference numeral 38 denotes a cover element.
- a full-surface adhesive layer 36 is arranged and on this full-surface adhesive layer 36, in turn, the cover element 24 with the slot S, which here runs perpendicular to the plane of the figure.
- the cover element 38 is removed. This means that the underside 26b of the cover element 26 comes to rest on the top side 16a of the adhesive strip 16 when it is wound up.
- Fig. 5 shows another view of a sealing tape according to the invention similar to the illustration in Fig. 2 .
- the base support was shown in more detail and its three components 25, 32 and 28 were shown.
- two cover elements 22, 23 are initially provided. Before winding up this sealing tape, one of these two cover elements 22, 23 is removed. This means that the adhesive layer lying under (or above) this respective cover element 22, 23 comes to rest on the other cover element when rolled up.
