Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of flexible sheets substantially translucent or transparent, based on polymeric materials.
- the invention relates more particularly to a flexible sheet adapted to replace a rigid wall of glass and thus has a high resistance to tearing and / or impacts, such as for example the impacts due to hail while allowing the transmission of light rays.
- Such transparent sheets may in particular be made of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polycarbonate (PC).
- PMMA polymethyl methacrylate
- PC polycarbonate
- the document FR 2 071 064 discloses a woven web for improving plant storage conditions in plant, the veil being woven in warp and weft with several flat threads that can be translucent.
- a first object of the invention is to provide a translucent or transparent flexible sheet which is both resistant to significant mechanical stresses, particularly in tension, bending and shearing, which does not burn easily and is resistant to impacts. .
- the flexible sheets of PMMA or PC have a closed or solid structure and are therefore impervious to gases or liquids in particular.
- a second object of the invention is to be able to make flexible sheets transparent and perforated, that is to say allowing particular gases or liquids to pass through their surfaces.
- the invention therefore relates to a flexible sheet substantially translucent or transparent.
- this sheet comprises a plurality of ribbons formed wholly or partly of a translucent amorphous polymer material, these ribbons being woven together in the warp and weft directions, characterized in that at least one group of ribbons parallel arranged comprises a textile core formed by reinforcing son.
- such a flexible sheet is obtained by weaving ribbons of translucent amorphous polymer material.
- the ribbons are obtained by simply cutting the desired width from pure or formulated polymer films.
- Some of these ribbons are also called “armed”, that is to say that they comprise a textile core, so as to strengthen in at least one predetermined direction the flexible sheet.
- the textile core is composed of reinforcing threads which are embedded inside the polymeric material forming the ribbons. They thus make it possible in particular to increase the limit at break in tension of such flexible sheets.
- Such a limit to the tensile rupture of a flexible sheet may therefore be greater than 100 daN / 5cm or even greater than 500daN / 5cm with a minimum elongation at break of between 3% and 20%.
- a portion of the ribbons of the sheet is metal strips.
- the metal strips can be coated with a translucent amorphous material.
- the intrinsic property of transparency or translucency is not obtained on the whole of the flexible sheet but on its greater part, thus allowing an excellent visual perception through it.
- such a flexible sheet may comprise groups of armed ribbons arranged both in the warp and weft directions of the weave. Such an arrangement then makes it possible to confer tensile tensile strength properties as indicated above in the two warp and weft directions of the flexible sheet.
- the reinforcing threads of the same ribbon can be juxtaposed in parallel manner within the bundle embedded in the material of the ribbon.
- the reinforcing son can be integrated in the ribbon during the manufacture of the latter, from several coils.
- the reinforcing threads of the same ribbon may be woven, braided or knitted together.
- the reinforcing son form textile son in the broad sense, and are therefore manufactured before being embedded in the translucent amorphous polymer material.
- the reinforcing son may be formed in a material selected from the group comprising glass, carbon, aramid and liquid crystal polymers, or more generally the son of very high tenacity.
- some reinforcing threads have a high tensile rupture limit, a low elongation at break and are nonflammable, that is to say that they have very high oxygen limit indices.
- the translucent amorphous polymer material can then be attached to these reinforcing threads by different techniques, and in particular by pultrusion.
- the reinforcing threads can thus be impregnated with a resin compatible with the translucent amorphous polymer material, before being drowned therein.
- the reinforcing threads may also be covered with a coating layer formed in a material distinct from the translucent amorphous polymer material forming the tapes.
- the ribbons armed with translucent amorphous polymer material can be made in several steps.
- a first step consists in covering the reinforcing threads with a first coating layer; then a second step is to cover this first coating layer with the translucent amorphous polymeric material.
- the coating layer may be covered with an aluminized film.
- the armed ribbons then have a soul with a metallic appearance and can be easily identified in comparison with unarmed and totally transparent ribbons.
- the translucent amorphous polymer material may be tetrafluoropropylene hexafluoropropylene vinylidene (THV), which is an amorphous polymer that is particularly transparent, fire resistant, and has the advantage of being weldable by high frequency electromagnetic techniques.
- TSV tetrafluoropropylene hexafluoropropylene vinylidene
- PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride
- semi-crystalline material translucent which is not weldable by the same techniques, and which may be associated with metal members or more generally conductors of electricity.
- the ribbons may have a thickness of between 50 ⁇ m and 200 ⁇ m. Such a thickness makes it possible to confer on the flexible sheet an optimal resistance to tearing and abrasion combined with a minimum mass.
- the flexible sheet may comprise a transparent flexible film secured to the woven ribbons.
- a transparent flexible film secured to the woven ribbons.
- the flexible sheet can be closed and not allow gases or liquids to pass.
- Such an arrangement is particularly advantageous for producing sealed walls.
- Such a transparent flexible film can thus be glued or heat-welded with the ribbons of translucent amorphous polymer material.
- the invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a flexible sheet as previously described.
- the ribbons can be woven conventionally according to the warp and weft directions in biaxial mode.
- the advantage of such a weaving is that the embossing is extremely low, which minimizes the elongation under load in the warp and weft directions.
- the tapes may also be woven by multiaxial weaving. They can for example be woven in triaxial mode with the weft ribbons positioned at + 45 ° and -45 ° with respect to the warp ribbon, or woven in quadriaxial mode with the + 45 °, + 90 ° and -frame weft ribbons. 45 ° with respect to the chain ribbon.
- such a method may comprise a calendering step to reduce the clogging between the warp and / or weft ribbons.
- the flexible sheet may be calendered so as to reduce its thickness and / or to reduce the opening ratio, that is to say the size of the holes between the different ribbons. .
- Such an operation also makes it possible to smooth or gloss the surface state of the flexible sheet and thus makes it possible to modify the visual appearance of the sheet.
- the invention relates to a transparent or translucent flexible sheet.
- the flexible sheet 1 substantially translucent or transparent is obtained by weaving ribbons 2, 3, 4 arranged in warp and weft. Such ribbons then make it possible to form a perforated textile sheet, that is to say having openings 12 able to let gases or liquids pass.
- ribbons 2, 3, 4 are wholly or partly formed in a translucent amorphous polymer material 9.
- some ribbons 2 form a group of parallel ribbons, inside which reinforcing threads 6 are drowned. This group of ribbons 2 may be arranged in a weft and / or warp direction of the flexible sheet 1.
- the reinforcing son 6 are juxtaposed next to each other and then embedded, for example by a pultrusion process, into the translucent amorphous polymer material 9.
- the reinforcing threads 6 may also be formed of glass fibers, aramid carbon or liquid crystal polymer, such as the fibers marketed under the Vectran® trademark by the company Kuraray Co Ltd in particular. Indeed, such fibers are particularly resistant, and for example, the glass fibers have a tensile rupture limit of the order of 300 daN, those of Vectran®, a tensile breaking limit of the order of 800daN, and those of carbon, a tensile strength limit of the order of 1000daN.
- the ribbons 2, 3, 4 can be associated and secured with a transparent flexible film 10.
- a transparent flexible film 10 makes it possible in this case to make the flexible sheet 11 tight, especially with respect to gases or liquids.
- Such an assembly may then be calendered so as to limit the clogging of the ribbons 2, 3, 4 woven between them and the thickness of such a flexible sheet 11.
- a ribbon 5 may comprise a plurality of reinforcing yarns 16 woven or knitted together.
- the reinforcing threads 16 then form a ribbon which can be coated with a coating layer 7 made of a material adhering firmly to the reinforcement threads 16 distinct from the translucent amorphous polymer material 9.
- the coating layer 7 can then be covered with an aluminized film 8 so as to impart a metallic appearance to the textile core of the ribbon 5.
- This textile core is then covered by pultrusion with the transparent amorphous polymer material 9 .
- such ribbons 2, 5 can be obtained in different ways and in particular by coating a textile web and then cutting in this width of textile strips of width between 5 mm and 10 mm and advantageously between 7 mm and 8 mm.
- the tapes 2, 5 may also be made by pultrusion son of a textile mast comprising a limited amount of son, for example of the order of 5 to 20 son / cm in particular.

Description
- elle permet de résister à des sollicitations mécaniques importantes en traction, flexion et en cisaillement notamment ;
- elle peut être ininflammable et par conséquent satisfaire les normes de résistance au feu M1 ou M2 ;
- elle peut être perméable au gaz ou au liquide ;
- elle est très légère et ne nécessite donc pas un support lourd et complexe pour la maintenir en position déployée ;
- elle est souple et peut donc composer des enveloppes courbes, coniques, laissant ainsi libre cours à la créativité des designers et des architectes ;
