  • the direct impingement nozzles are provided such that some lines in the direction of the nozzle box that coincide with the width direction of the paper sheet to be dried cross only one direct impingement nozzle of a nozzle head, while other lines in the direction of the nozzle box that coincide with the width direction of the paper sheet to be dried cross two direct impingement nozzles of that same nozzle head, and while other lines in the direction of the nozzle box that coincide with the width direction of the paper sheet to be dried cross no direct impingement nozzles of that same nozzle head.
  • Such arrangement of the direct impingement nozzles has proven to provide better uniformity of heat transfer by the direct impingement nozzles to the paper sheet to be dried.
  • Each of the nozzle heads comprises four series of inclined jet nozzles, wherein each of the series of inclined jet nozzles comprises a number of inclined jet nozzles provided on a straight line.
  • Two series of inclined jet nozzles 1110 are each aligned on a line in the direction of the nozzle box that coincides with the width direction of the paper to be dried; of which one series is provided for blowing in the direction of movement of the paper sheet to be dried; and the other series is provided for blowing in the direction opposite to the direction of movement of the paper sheet to be dried.
  • the nozzle head comprises in addition two series of inclined jet nozzles 1111, 1112 that are each aligned on a line that makes an angle of e.g. 60° with the direction of the nozzle box that coincides with the width direction of the paper to be dried.
  • Each of the nozzles - direct impingement nozzles as well as inclined jet nozzles - are provided in the nozzle head as drilled round openings perpendicular to the surface of the nozzle head where the round opening has been drilled.
  • the nozzle box is provided with suction openings 1125 for the evacuation of gas.
  • the nozzle box arrangement of figure 11 has shown particularly beneficial results in terms of drying efficiency of coated paper sheets, thanks to the particular arrangement of the direct impingement nozzles and of the inclined jet nozzles.
  • FIG. 12 shows hot air dryer 1200 equipment according to the second aspect of the invention.
  • the hot air dyer equipment 1200 comprises a housing 1201 and a plurality of nozzle boxes 1270 according to the first aspect of the invention.
  • Means are provided for suction of hot gas through suction openings - e.g. round suction openings or slit shaped suction openings - in the nozzle boxes (e.g. between nozzle units or between nozzle heads) and/or between nozzle boxes.
  • Means are provided to collect the sucked gas into piping 1202.
  • piping 1204 is provided to exhaust part of the sucked gas out of the equipment.
  • Means are provided for the supply of fresh air into the equipment, wherein the freshly supplied air - introduced via piping 1216 - is mixed with sucked gas.
  • Piping 1224 is provided to recirculate - e.g. by means of a fan 1218 - at least part of the sucked gas back, together with the freshly supplied air, to the one or to the plurality of nozzle boxes for being blown onto the paper sheet to be dried by the direct impingement nozzles and by the inclined jet nozzles of the nozzles boxes.
  • Means 1220 are provided to heat the mixture of sucked gas and freshly supplied air before it is supplied to the nozzle box(es). Such means can e.g. be a heat exchanger or a gas burner.
  • Such gas burner can be provided such that the combustion gas of the gas burner is added to the mixture of sucked gas and freshly supplied air.
  • Means - not shown in figure 12 - e.g. dampers are provided in the piping to control the flows of the gases in the different pipes or tubes.

Claims (15)

  1. Boîte à buses (100) pour souffler un gaz chaud dans la zone de séchage par convection d'un équipement pour le séchage continu en suspension dans l'air de feuilles de papier, la boîte à buses comprenant :
    au moins une buse à contact direct (108) pour éjecter un jet de gaz chaud perpendiculaire au plan moyen de la feuille de papier à sécher ; et
    une pluralité de buses à jet incliné (109, 110, 111, 112), dans laquelle les buses à jet incliné sont prévues pour éjecter des jets de gaz chaud sous un angle incliné par rapport au plan moyen de la feuille de papier à sécher ;
    caractérisée en ce qu'au moins deux buses à jet incliné (109, 111) sont prévues, pour lesquelles le plan comprenant les représentations vectorielles des directions de jet des au moins deux buses à jet incliné, ne comprend pas le vecteur représentant la direction de jet d'une buse à contact direct.
  2. Boîte à buses selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle la boîte à buses comprend au moins trois buses à jet incliné, dans laquelle chacune des au moins trois buses à jet incliné a un vecteur représentant sa direction de jet, à l'usage ; dans laquelle chacun des vecteurs des au moins trois buses de jet incliné a une direction différente dans l'espace tridimensionnel.
  3. Boîte à buses selon les revendications 1 ou 2,
    dans laquelle les buses à jet incliné comprennent ou se composent d'un premier ensemble de buses à jet incliné et d'un second ensemble de buses à jet incliné ;
    dans laquelle le premier ensemble de buses à jet incliné est prévu pour souffler dans une première direction ; et
    dans laquelle le second ensemble de buses à jet incliné est prévu pour souffler dans une seconde direction ;
    et dans laquelle la première direction est perpendiculaire à la seconde direction.
  4. Boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans laquelle la boîte à buses comprend des ouvertures d'aspiration pour l'évacuation du gaz.
  5. Boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans laquelle la boîte à buses comprend une pluralité d'unités de buses sur la boîte à buses, dans laquelle chacune des unités comprend :
    au moins une buse à contact direct pour éjecter un jet de gaz chaud perpendiculaire au plan moyen de la feuille de papier à sécher ; et
    une pluralité de buses à jet incliné, dans laquelle les buses à jet incliné sont prévues pour éjecter des jets de gaz chaud sous un angle incliné par rapport au plan moyen de la feuille de papier à sécher ;
    dans laquelle au moins deux buses à jet incliné de l'unité de buses sont prévues, pour lesquelles le plan comprenant la représentation vectorielle des directions de jet des au moins deux buses à jet incliné, ne comprend pas le vecteur représentant la direction de jet d'une buse à contact direct de l'unité de buses.
  6. Boîte à buses selon la revendication 5, dans laquelle des ouvertures d'aspiration pour l'évacuation du gaz sont prévues dans la boîte à buses entre les unités de buses.
  7. Boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications 5 ou 6, dans laquelle les unités de buses sont prévues sous la forme de têtes de buses montées dans la boîte à buses.
  8. Boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications 5 à 7, dans laquelle la au moins une buse à contact direct est prévue dans la section centrale de l'unité de buses ; et
    dans laquelle les buses à jet incliné entourent la au moins une buse à contact direct.
  9. Boîte à buses selon la revendication 8,
    dans laquelle une première partie desdites buses à jet incliné est prévue pour souffler vers l'intérieur vers la au moins une buse à contact direct ;
    et dans laquelle une seconde partie desdites buses à jet incliné est prévue pour souffler dans la direction orientée à l'opposé de la au moins une buse à contact direct.
  10. Boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications 5 à 9, dans laquelle les buses à jet incliné à l'intérieur d'une unité de buses sont prévues de sorte que lorsque les buses à jet incliné fonctionnent, les jets des buses à jet incliné sont présents dans des plans répartis à égale distance angulaire, perpendiculaires à la boîte à buses.
  11. Equipement pour le séchage continu en suspension dans l'air d'une feuille de papier, comprenant une boîte à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10, dans lequel ladite boîte à buses couvre la largeur disponible dans l'équipement pour le transport de la feuille de papier.
  12. Equipement selon la revendication 11, dans lequel une ou plus d'une boîte à buses selon les revendications 1 à 10 est prévue de sorte que la somme vectorielle des vecteurs représentant la direction de jet et ayant, en tant que grandeur, l'impulsion de jet des buses à jet incliné de la boîte à buses, est orientée dans la direction opposée de la direction de transport de la feuille de papier dans l'équipement de séchage.
  13. Equipement selon les revendications 11 ou 12, dans lequel l'équipement comprend un grand nombre de boîtes à buses selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10 ; et dans lequel au moins deux boîtes à buses consécutives comprennent des unités de buses qui sont disposées en quinconce lorsque l'on compare les positions des unités de buses dans la première boîte à buses des deux boîtes à buses consécutives avec les positions des unités de buses dans la seconde boîte à buses des deux boîtes à buses consécutives.
  14. Procédé pour le séchage continu d'une feuille de papier,
    dans lequel un équipement pour le séchage continu est utilisé selon l'une quelconque des revendications 11 à 13 ;
    dans lequel une feuille de papier est transportée à travers l'équipement afin de sécher la feuille de papier dans l'équipement pour le séchage continu ;
    dans lequel la feuille de papier est en suspension dans l'air dans l'équipement sans que le bord de la feuille de papier ne soit maintenu par un moyen mécanique ;
    dans lequel la feuille de papier ondule dans la direction de transport de la feuille de papier à travers l'équipement de séchage ;
    et dans lequel la feuille de papier ondule dans la direction perpendiculaire à la direction de transport de la feuille de papier à travers l'équipement de séchage.
  15. Procédé selon la revendication 14, dans lequel la somme vectorielle des vecteurs représentant la direction de jet et ayant, en tant que dimension, l'impulsion de jet des buses à jet incliné de la boîte à buses, est orientée dans la direction opposée de la direction de transport de la feuille de papier à travers l'équipement de séchage.
