Device (10) for controlling and/or regulating a process air system of a dryer hood (14), in particular a yankee hood, that is assigned to a drying cylinder (12), in particular a yankee cylinder, of a machine for producing a fibrous web, in particular a paper web, cardboard web, or tissue web, in particular for carrying out the method according to one of Claims 1 to 8, said device having a first burner (18) that is assigned to a wet part (16) of the dryer hood (14), and a first duct system (20) by way of which hot air from the first burner (18) is capable of being fed to the wet part (16), and returne air from the wet part (16) is capable of being return to the first burner (18); a second burner (24) that is assigned to a dry part (22) of the dryer hood (14), and a second duct system (26) by way of which hot air from the second burner (24) is capable of being fed to the dry part (22), and return air from the dry part (22) is capable of being returned to the second burner (24); a heat exchanger (28) to which exhaust air from the wet part (16) and exhaust air from the dry part (22) of the dryer hood (14) is capable of being fed; an exhaust air blower (30) for discharging the exhaust air that again exits the heat exchanger (28) to the environment; a duct (32) by way of which fresh air that is preheated by the heat exchanger (28) is capable of being fed to the first burner (18) and to the second burner (24), characterized by humidity sensors (34, 36) for measuring the humidity of the return air from the wet part (16) and the humidity of the return air from the dry part (22) of the dryer hood (14); means for controlling the throughput of the exhaust air blower (30) so as to depend on the humidity of the return air from the dryer hood part (16 or 22, respectively) having the relatively higher water evaporation; and means for regulating the air balance of the wet part (16) and/or of the dry part (22) of the dryer hood (14), determined by the ratio of the infed air mass flow to the discharged air mass flow, to a predefinable nominal value, in each case by way of the infeed of preheated fresh air from the heat exchanger (28) to the first burner or second burner, respectively (18 or 24, respectively), that is assigned to the wet part (16) or the dry part (22), respectively, of the dryer hood (14).
