Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for the automated detection of the assignment of emergency lights to circuits in an emergency lighting system.
- An emergency lighting system is a multi-luminaire system whose luminaires indicate dangers in emergency situations (eg fire in a building) and / or escape or rescue routes over which a building or areas can be safely left, displayed or illuminated.
- Emergency lighting systems are also referred to as emergency lighting systems.
- the luminaires are typically designed modularly as luminaire modules which, depending on the mode of use, are to be operated in one of several operating states. For example, the luminaire modules can point to escape route lighting (emergency exit) and are typical in this case to illuminate in continuous operation. Other lighting modules are operated as emergency lights in standby mode and illuminated only in an emergency, such as a fire or failure of the general power supply network to clearly identify escape and rescue routes and to make usable.
- ECC2 An applicant's emergency lighting system is known, for example, under the name "ECC2”.
- ECC2 An applicant's emergency lighting system has a plurality of individual battery lights in the form of safety or escape sign lights, which are each provided with its own battery as a backup power source. If the mains supply voltage fails, the backup power source is used for emergency power supply.
- Each individual battery light is according to the terminology used herein a luminaire module.
- ZBX emergency lighting system
- ZBX central battery system
- safety and escape sign lights lighting modules
- a central battery system which also has a variety of safety and escape sign lights (lighting modules), but in case of failure of the power supply voltage or other, used in normal operation for supply voltage from a central battery as a backup power source be supplied.
- Another emergency lighting system is known as a power limited central battery system called INSILIA.
- This system also has a plurality of lighting modules as security and escape sign lights, which are supplied in case of failure of the power supply voltage or other voltage used in normal operation for supply voltage from a central battery as a backup power source.
- Modern emergency lighting systems such as the "ECC2 Touch” or “INSiLIA” systems known by the applicant, have a central control unit with graphical user interface with a touch display in "app design", which is known from modern smartphones, or a web interface with graphic objects.
- the interface allows the installer and operator to operate easily.
- the existing luminaire modules are displayed using simple symbols or in simple lists to allow the operator to more easily identify the luminaires in the respective areas.
- the assignment of the luminaires to the respective operating modes is based on an unambiguous address stored in the luminaire modules and is shown on the display.
- a corresponding escape sign light has, for example, a pictogram for the escape route display, a light source and other electrical and electronic devices for the operation and supply of the light source.
- this luminaire module also includes a rechargeable battery.
- Another lighting module of the emergency lighting system is a safety light for emergency and escape route lighting.
- This module is typically designed for ceiling mounting or ceiling mounting, wall mounting or wall mounting.
- Safety and escape route luminaires must meet certain product and lighting standards, such as IEC / EN 60598-2-22, EN 1838, ISO 3864, ISO 7010 or ISO 30061.
- Other standards for safety installations are EN 50172, IEC / EN 60364- 5-56 and IEC / EN 60364-718. These are also to be considered when constructing an emergency lighting system.
- each fire compartment is provided with at least two electrical circuits for powering all emergency lights in the respective fire compartment of a building.
- DIN VDE 0108 Part 100 and DIN VDE 0108 Part 560 prescribe that a maximum of 20 emergency lights (consumers) may be operated per circuit (final circuit). For this reason centrally supplied emergency lighting systems often have to be equipped with several circuits for the supply of emergency lights. For large buildings, up to 1000 circuits can be used to power all the emergency lights in the building.
- each emergency light has its own battery for emergency power supply in case of failure of the power supply network (single battery lights)
- the emergency lights are integrated into a wireless network for wireless communication of emergency lights each other.
- EP 2 782 428 A2 describes an emergency lighting system with a central battery for all emergency lights and central control device, the emergency lights communicate with the central control device by radio.
- the user In order to meet the requirements of DIN VDE 0108 Part 560, the user must be able to assign the emergency lights to the circuits for centrally supplied emergency lighting systems. For this, the assignment of emergency lights to Circuits are detected. In other words, it must be recognized which of the emergency luminaires of an emergency lighting system are assigned to which circuit of the several circuits provided for supplying power to the emergency luminaires.
- EP 1 953 893 A2 describes a centralized emergency lighting system with functionalities integrated into conventional lighting.
- EP 2 573 630 A1 describes an emergency lighting system with data communication capabilities.
- the invention has for its object to provide methods for automated detection of the assignment of emergency lights to circuits for powering the emergency lights in an emergency lighting system.
- the inventive method relates to emergency lighting systems in which each emergency light exactly one of several circuits, which are connected to the power supply of the emergency lights with a power supply network, assigned and each emergency light communicates via a separate, different from the circuits, preferably wireless communication connection with a central control device.
- the central control device is designed for selectively switching the circuits and for detecting the operating state of each emergency light via the communication link. This means that each of the circuits can be selectively activated and deactivated via the central control device and that the operating state (active or inactive) of each emergency light can be detected at the central control device.
- the information required to record the operating status will be provided by the company Emergency light transmitted via the communication link to the central control device.
- circuits are activated, that is to say switched on via the central control device. Then, the circuits are operated with a certain voltage shape.
- the voltage forms applied to the activated emergency lights for example AC or DC voltage
- the central control device is designed to recognize the voltage applied to each emergency voltage form.
- each emergency light via the communication link sends information to the central control device, from which the central control device can determine the voltage form in question.
- the recognized voltage form is stored for each of the emergency lights.
- a detection of voltage applied to the active emergency lights voltage shapes is determined, in which after Changing the voltage shape of the circuit has changed the voltage applied to the emergency light.
- the emergency lights determined in this way are stored in a memory of the central control device and stored as a circuit whose voltage form has been changed associated.
- the applied voltage shape has changed. This information is transmitted via the communication link to the central control device. Those emergency lights in which it has been recognized that the applied voltage shape has changed are stored as belonging to the circuit whose voltage shape has been changed.
- the circuits for powering the emergency lights are wired and connected to the central control device, so that the central control device can control the circuits individually and selectively.
- the communication connection between the emergency lights and the central control device is preferably wireless, for example as a radio link formed.
- the communication between the emergency lights and the central control device is completely independent of the power supply of the emergency lights on the circuits.
- the emergency lights are preferably part of emergency lights that are turned on in a hazardous situation such as a fire to illuminate a danger area or escape route.
- Another part of the emergency lights are preferably escape route lights, which typically permanently illuminate an escape route or escape route, for example by an icon on a light display.
- the emergency lighting system is preferably a central battery system in which all emergency lights are connected to the same central battery for the emergency power supply of the emergency lights in the event of failure of the power supply network.
- FIG. 1 shows an emergency lighting system in a schematic representation.
- the illustrated emergency lighting system includes safety lights 12a, 12b and escape sign lights 14a, 14b.
- the safety lights 12a and the escape sign lights 14a are connected to a first circuit 16a which connects the emergency lights 12a, 14a to a central control device 18.
- the emergency lights 12b, 14b are connected to the central control device 18 via a second electric circuit 16b.
- On another circuit 16c is indicated only schematically. Depending on the size of the building, it is conceivable that up to approximately 1000 circuits will be used. In this case, buildings are subdivided into potential danger areas, each of which is supplied with its own electrical circuit. If a fire breaks out in a first area, the fire will not affect the circuits of other areas.
- the central control device 18 is configured to individually selectively turn on and off each of the circuits 16a-16c individually and to switch between AC voltage (DC) and DC (DC) for each of the electric circuits 16a-16c.
- All emergency lights 12a, 14a, 12b, 14b ... and the central control device 18 are configured to communicate with each other via a wireless radio link.
- the wireless radio link thus forms a dashed line shown in the figure communication link 20 between the emergency lights and the central control device 18.
- the emergency lights do not require a direct communication connection to the control device 18.
- a multi-hop communication is permitted.
- a direct communication link 20 is shown between each of the emergency lights and the central control device 18.
- adjacent emergency lights could communicate directly with each other via a communication link, while only the emergency light next to the control device 18 or a plurality of emergency lights adjacent to the control device 18 communicate directly with the control device.
- the emergency lights 12a could communicate with the emergency lights 12b and not directly with the control device 18, while the emergency lights 12b communicate with the control device 18.
- the emergency lights 12b would thereby communicate directly with the control device 18, while the emergency lights 12a communicate indirectly with the control device 18 via the emergency lights 12b.
- a corresponding multi-hop connection would also be conceivable for the emergency lights 14a, 14b.
- the central control device is provided with a central backup battery, to which all emergency lights 12a, 14a, 12b, 14b, etc. are connected, in order to supply the emergency lights in case of failure of the power supply network with voltage.
- the invention aims to automatically detect which of the emergency lights 12a, 14a, 12b, 14b, etc. is associated with which circuit 16a, 16b, 16c and so on.
- all circuits 16a, 16b, 16c are switched on via the central control device 18 for this purpose.
- the control device 18 receives from each active, that is switched on emergency light, a signal, after which the emergency light in question is active.
- information about the type of emergency light is transmitted. This information is stored in the memory of the control device 18.
- the controller 18 again checks which emergency lights are active. In this case, it only receives a signal from the emergency lights 12b, 14b, while the emergency lights 12a, 14a are switched off and do not transmit any information to the control device 18.
- the signals received by the emergency lights 12b, 14b are also stored and compared with the previously stored information. From the comparison, the control device 18 recognizes that now only four emergency lights are active from the original eight emergency lights. From this, the control device 18 recognizes that four emergency lights belong to the electric circuit 16a which has been deactivated.
- each the emergency lights also transmits information about the type and type of emergency and an identification signal for unambiguous identification of each emergency, detects the control device 18 based on the comparison of the data in the memory before and after switching off the circuit 16a also which of the emergency lights are no longer active and thus belong to the circuit 16a.
- the circuits are not switched off individually. Instead, the voltage shape of a single circuit is selectively changed. Initially, after activating all the circuits 16a, 16b, 16c, these circuits are supplied with alternating voltage (AC).
- AC alternating voltage
- control device 18 receives from all the active emergency lights 12a, 14a, 12b, 14b the information about the voltage form applied to the respective emergency light. This information is also stored in the memory and compared with the information obtained before changing the voltage form of circuit 16a.
- the control device 18 determines that of eight emergency lights 12a, 14a, 12b, 14b, which were operated with AC voltage, now only four emergency lights 12b, 14b with AC voltage - namely the emergency lights of circuit 16b - are operated and four emergency lights 12a, 14a - namely the emergency lights of the circuit 16a, whose voltage form was changed from AC to DC voltage - are operated with DC voltage. Due to the fact that all emergency lights also transmit information for the clear identification of the emergency lights to the control device 18, the control device 18 can also recognize which of the emergency lights are now operated with DC voltage and which with AC voltage. The controller derives from this information not only that four emergency lights are operated on the circuit 16a. Rather, the control device 18 also recognizes which emergency lights 12a, 14a are applied to the circuit 16a and are now supplied with DC voltage.
- the inventive method allows a simple way of automatically detecting the assignment of emergency lights to circuits of an emergency lighting system.
