A risk of pinching is not only uncomfortable, but could also mean a risk of injury. Considering that disabled or weak persons are the intended users of many of the seats and armrests, such a risk of pinching is not acceptable. An example of such a pivoting armrest is shown in US4715069 .

  • the dismounting position is preferably located close to the position where the main portion 3 is pivoted maximally upwards, but other locations are possible, depending on the exact shapes of the shoulder 16 and the pivot axis 12.
  • the pivot axis 12 In the mounted state, i. e. the state wherein the armrest 2 will be supplied to the user, the pivot axis 12 will be in direct contact with the rounded inner end 17 of the recess 11.
  • the main portion 3 is pivotable around the pivot axis 12, but the enclosure 4 will limit the pivoting movement to approximately 1 ⁇ 4 of a turn, which corresponds to the movement needed for switching the main portion 3 between an upright position and a lowered position.
  • the recess 11 and its opening are arranged inside the enclosure 4, thereby eliminating the risk for injuries or discomfort to the user due to pinching.
  • the height adjustment device 10 is arranged at the rear end of the main portion 3. It is designed to enable positioning thereof in several different positions along the rear end of the main portion 3.

  • Fig 4a which shows the connected end 9 of the main portion, is a planar view from the side, where the side walls 14, 15 of the enclosure 4 and the connected end 9 are partly cut away.
  • the stepped structure 25 and the height adjustment device 10 with its slanted surface 13 are clearly visible, in accordance with what is shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 .

  • the angle of the side projections 26 will, however, restrict a passage in the opposite direction past the angled recesses 21, so that the height adjustment 10 may be adjusted if needed, but it will be difficult to pull out completely.
  • the height of the armrest 1 will only be adjusted once, in most cases, when the seat is installed for a particular user, the limited access thereto is not a problem. In fact, it would often be an advantage that the height of the armrest 2 is not easily changed by accident.
  • the armrest 2 is shown in connection with a toilet seat. It would of course be useful in connection with other types of seats, where an armrest 2 would be needed, not only for disabled users. Some examples are shower chairs or stools, chairs used during medical or dental examinations or treatments, chairs for waiting rooms etc.

Claims (5)

  1. Siège de toilette (1), chaise de douche ou tabouret de douche comprenant un accoudoir réglable (2), l'accoudoir (2) comprenant :
    un axe de pivot approximativement horizontal (12) ;
    une partie principale (3) comportant une extrémité libre (8) et une extrémité raccordée (9), qui est disposée pivotante autour de l'axe de pivot approximativement horizontal (12), et
    un coffret (4) disposé autour de l'axe de pivot (12) et de l'extrémité raccordée (9) de la partie principale (3), dans lequel l'extrémité raccordée (9) de la partie principale (3) comprend un évidement ouvert (11) pour l'axe de pivot (12), dans lequel l'ouverture de l'évidement ouvert (11) est couverte par le coffret (4), indépendamment de la position de pivotement de la partie principale (3), caractérisé en ce que l'évidement ouvert (11) est un évidement oblong sur un côté arrière de l'extrémité raccordée (9), le côté arrière faisant face à distance de l'extrémité libre avant (8), et dans lequel l'évidement oblong (11) coopère avec l'axe de pivot (12) dans le coffret (4), lorsque l'accoudoir (2) est en position d'utilisation, et dans lequel le coffret (4) comporte deux parois latérales (14), et en ce que l'axe de pivot (12) s'étend entre les deux parois latérales (14) .
  2. Siège de toilette (1), chaise de douche ou tabouret de douche selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'évidement (11) est muni d'un rebord (16) destiné à empêcher un désengagement accidentel de la partie principale (3) du coffret (4).
  3. Siège de toilette (1), chaise de douche ou tabouret de douche selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce qu'un dispositif de réglage de hauteur (10) est disposé dans la partie principale (3) afin de venir en butée contre l'intérieur du coffret (4).
  4. Siège de toilette (1), chaise de douche ou tabouret de douche selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif de réglage de hauteur (10) peut être positionné dans deux positions ou plus, ce qui permet de fournir des hauteurs alternées de la partie principale (3) .
  5. Siège de toilette (1), chaise de douche ou tabouret de douche selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif de réglage de hauteur (10) comporte une surface inclinée (13) afin de venir en butée contre l'intérieur d'une paroi d'extrémité (18), s'étendant entre les parois latérales (14) du coffret (4).
