Description

    Field of the invention
  • This invention relates to a ship premises assembly and ship with said premises.
  • This invention relates particularly to a ship premises assembly that transports passengers, such as, for example, a yacht, super-yacht, mega-yacht, giga-yacht, or cruise ship, and to a ship with said premises.
  • State of the art
  • As is known, the value and the price of a premises of a passenger ship or yacht, such as a private cabin or a common area, are generally correlated to the space available for the exclusive use of the cabin or common area, which can be, for example, a room, lounge, conference room, bar or ballroom.
  • For example, on board a ship, premises located in portions of the superstructure or hull of the ship facing the sea or facing an internal deck may include balconies or terraces, which are however of little use during periods of bad weather, such as precipitation and wind, or while travelling, and in addition said balconies or terraces are separated from the inside of the premises by means of fixed architectural separation barriers that consequently limit the space available to users of the premises. For example, document KR101476058 B1 discloses a stadium integrated cruise ship, where sidewalls of the hull are folded open to the outer side of the hull and event space is formed.
  • For example, document US8635472B2 shows a balcony projecting from a wall of the ship that is foldable and thus mountable and/or dismountable as necessary.
  • This solution makes it possible to expand and reduce the external walking surface available to external users of the premises but does not solve the problem of exposure of users of the premises to the weather.
  • It is also known, for example from document DE102013002170A1 , how to construct telescopically extensible decks that protrude cantilevered over the side, for hauling lifeboats.
  • This mechanism allows extending, if necessary, the surface protruding from the vessel intended to convey passengers when boarding lifeboats, representing an improvement of safety conditions for passengers of the ship, however, this solution does not concern interior premises of the ship intended for private or common use.
  • For example, document US20060059700A1 shows a motor van provided with an extensible room projecting from the wall of the motor vehicle, increasing the volume intended for private use of the travellers. This solution is completely unsuitable for use in a ship or yacht.
  • Therefore, the need is felt to be able to expand and/or reduce the volume of a premises of a ship upon command while maintaining the volume confined within the walls and thus sheltered from the weather and, at the same time, allow enjoying the panorama outside the hull of the ship.
  • Solution
  • The purpose of this invention is to eliminate the drawbacks of the prior art and provide a solution to the need to offer a new architecture of ship premises that allows increasing the volume of said premises, wherein said premises can be either a cabin available for the exclusive use of the user or a common premises intended for common use such as, for example, a room, lounge, conference room, bar or ballroom and, at the same time, to ensure confinement from the external environment and, therefore, protection from the weather.
  • This and other purposes are achieved with a ship premises assembly according to claim 1, as well as a ship hull according to claim 11, a ship superstructure according to claim 12, a ship according to claim 13 and a method according to claim 14.
  • Several advantageous embodiments are covered by the dependent claims.
