Definitions
- the present invention relates to a demountable and waterproof mold, for a cooking appliance, such as a cake dough, and intended for cooking with heat, especially in an oven, but also for freezing, especially in a freezer or resting in a refrigerator.
- a cooking appliance such as a cake dough
- the invention will be more particularly described with regard to an oblong mold, such as a log mold, cake or brioche.
- the rigid molds made of several parts which can be dismantled in relation to one another, meet the aforementioned drawbacks.
- the invention more particularly relates to a demountable mold of the type comprising:
- a rigid wall of generally semi-cylindrical shape, open at its two lateral ends, with a cross-section in the general U-shape and forming an open gutter at the top; - Two complementary end transverse walls, so as to form, with the semi-cylindrical wall, a container open at the top and closed at its lateral lateral ends.
- the different parts of the mold are assembled to each other, usually by embedding, clipping or friction.
- the removable character provides space saving, since the respective constituent parts can generally be grouped together by types.
- the seal at the joint of the assembled parts is not perfect. However, it is essential, because it is of course necessary to avoid any leakage of the dough out of the mold.
- the assembly of the pieces together must be done in such a way that the mold is rigid and can not be deformed, so that it can be manipulated by the user on the one hand, and placed on a surface plane, for example a worktop, or a grid or a baking sheet, on the other hand. It is understood that the requirements of disassembly, rigidity, ease of cleaning, and finally sealing are contradictory.
- the present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages, and reconcile these conditions, by proposing a cake mold that is easily removable, has a satisfactory rigidity, and can be cleaned in the best conditions, without difficulty, while having characteristics optimal sealing.
- the mold for culinary apparatus in particular for cake dough or the like, of the type comprising:
- each means on the one hand being associated with a flat rigid plate, so as to form one of the transverse walls, and on the other hand having a peripheral groove adapted to receive, and cooperate with, the peripheral edge (the edge) corresponding to the semi-cylindrical gutter-shaped wall, these means constituting sealing means.
- the assembly comprises only three parts: the gutter on the one hand, and the two sealing means each further including a transverse wall, on the other hand.
- the sealing means of the invention thus combine the functions:
- the sealing means therefore constitute, in combination, sealing means, removable assembly means between the gutter wall and each transverse wall, and rigidity means forming each transverse wall.
- the mold of the invention leads to a simple and fast implementation, and forms, once the assembled parts, a rigid seal block guaranteed.
- the section of the gutter is for example U-shaped, but could have another geometry such as trapezoidal, triangular, square, rectangular, or other.
- each sealing means consists of a block comprising:
- a flat part enveloping at least the periphery of the rigid plate preferably extending over an entire face of the rigid plate and covering its edge;
- a part opposite to the flat part, forming a peripheral bead, including said open groove in the longitudinal general direction of the gutter, the groove being continuous over the entire periphery and has a geometric line corresponding to the section of the gutter.
- the rigid plate is overmolded on said flat portion, preferably the plate having a gripping area which protrudes from said flat portion sealing means.
- said planar portion includes a housing complementary to said flat plate in which the latter can be inserted removably.
- the flat portion envelops substantially all of the plate, and preferably the plate has a gripping area which protrudes from said flat portion sealing means.
- the sealing means are of a flexible material to facilitate the association with the gutter, and to ensure sealing with the latter, said means thus marrying (perfectly) the edges and the surface of the applique with the gutter.
- the sealing means is made of a plastic material such as silicone, or the like.
- the rigid plate associated with the sealing means provides a rigid block for holding the transverse walls of the mold, while allowing the use of a flexible material for the sealing means to ensure sealing as previously said.
- a variant could have consisted in producing the block of a transverse wall in one or more sealing materials with different parts in order to provide, on the one hand, the rigidity function for the part opposite the transverse opening of the gutter, and secondly the flexibility function for the part to be associated with the gutter at its edge and immediate proximity surfaces.
- the proposed embodiment of unitary material and flexibility of the sealing means simplifies the manufacture.
- the mold in particular in particular each sealing means or each block, comprises seat means, in the part opposite the opening of the channel, so as to ensure the stability of the mold on a flat surface, once the two sealing means associated with the longitudinal gutter, in particular the seating means projecting from the bottom of the gutter.
- the seating means comprise two lugs or ears on each block (on each sealing means), in the lower part, opposite to the open upper part of the gutter, and projecting from the bottom of the gutter .
- the two sealing means (the two blocks) thus form seating means, feet, for laying the entire mold.
- each sealing means have a shape and dimensions suitable for providing rigidity or semi-rigidity while the rest of the sealing means associated with the gutter are flexible or relatively flexible.
- the semi-cylindrical gutter wall, as well as the plate associated with the corresponding sealing means, are metallic, more particularly stainless steel.
- the metal parts aroused and which make it possible to stiffen the mold may also be made of any rigid material, in particular a rigid plastic such as based on polyamide, or even composite material, or ceramic, or glass, for example.
- the latter comprises, on each of the two parallel longitudinal edges, a flange forming an angle with the tangent to said edge (preferably a horizontal angle in the molded position on a surface).
- FIG. 1 shows the mold of the invention in perspective lateral diving.
- Figure 2 is a detail view, on a larger scale, of a transverse wall and one of the sealing means at one end of the gutter;
- Figure 3 shows in perspective the mold of Figure 2, seen from the other side in the longitudinal direction of the gutter;
- Figure 4 is a front and top perspective view of one of the sealing means associated with a transverse wall;
- Figure 5 is a perspective view from above of the assembly of Figure 4.
- Figure 6 is a front view of the mold of Figure 4;
- Figure 7 is a top view of the assembly of Figure 4;
- Figure 8 is a variant of Figure 4;
- Figure 9 is a variant of Figure 5, according to another perspective angle.
- the mold 1 comprises:
- a substantially semi-cylindrical wall 2 forming a channel, U-section open at the top and open at its opposite transverse distal ends, the wall being formed by a plate or folded sheet or bent, preferably stainless steel;
- Each sealing means 5, 6 associated with the corresponding flat plate forms an end transverse wall 3, 4.
- the semi-cylindrical wall 2 forming a gutter has, on each of the two parallel longitudinal edges, a horizontal flange 9, 10, which is horizontal in the molded position on a surface, and forming an angle with the tangent to said edge. These two folded edges 9 and 10 reinforce the rigidity of the gutter.
- Each sealing means consists of a block 5, 6 comprising:
- Each block is made of a plastic material such as silicone, or the like.
- the flat part 1 1, 12 is full and rigid. It forms a plate capable of closing the open transverse distal ends of the gutter.
- the plane portion 11, 12 is associated with the corresponding peripheral bead 13, 14 in the following preferred manner.
- Each flat part 1 1, 12 of each sealing means envelopes or overmoulds the rigid flat plate 7, 8 so that it is integral with the flat part.
- each part 1 1, 12 comprises a housing or slot referenced "F", complementary to said flat plate in which the latter is likely to be inserted, removably.
- the plane portion envelops substantially all of the plate, on each side, with the exception of an upper gripping zone which protrudes from the complementary housing provided in said flat portion.
- Each wall 3, 4, in particular each flat rigid plate 7, 8, comprises a gripping zone 7A, 8A which protrudes from the flat part 11, 12 sealing means, in the upper part, that is to say on the side of the opening of the U of each bead 13,14.
- Each bead 13, 14 includes a groove 15, open in the longitudinal direction of the gutter, the groove being continuous over the entire periphery of the bead.
- the groove 15 is of shape and complementary dimensions of the peripheral transverse edge of the gutter. The peripheral transverse edge of the gutter is thus engaged by friction in the groove 15, so as to detachably or removably fasten for the disassembly of the mold.
- the block comprises seating means, in the opposite portion to the opening of the gutter, so as to ensure the stability of the mold on a flat surface, once the two blocks associated with the longitudinal gutter.
- the seating means are associated with the sealing means 5, 6.
- Said seating means comprise, for each bead two tabs or lugs 16, 17 (respectively 18, 19) on each block 5, 6, in the lower part, opposite to the upper part of each block comprising the gripping means, and protruding from the bottom of the gutter.
- the two blocks 5 and 6 thus form feet for laying the mold on a flat surface or an oven rack.
- the shape of the seating means combined with the fact that the material has sufficient thickness, provides rigidity to said seating means, despite the flexibility of the material used for all sealing means.
- the body of the seating means 16 and 17 is perforated as shown in the figures to save manufacturing.
- some dimensions are as follows:
- - length of the gutter of the order of 500 or 300 mm;
- thickness of the sealing means of the order of 20 mm.
