Description
The present invention relates to a protection system which is particularly suitable for use during sporting activities to generally protect against injuries from blows, bumps, collisions, falls and the like.
It is well known that activities such as Motorcycling, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, skating and the like, especially when extremely fast movements are involved, can easily lead to falls and bumps, in which a large number of body zones are exposed to a particularly high risk of injury. Athletes are exposed to increased dangers because they do not have a crumple zone, are exposed to increased risk of falling in the case of poor grip (wetness, dirt) or are overlooked by others. The head, brain, spine and neck are particularly affected, since there is little to no dampening tissue or muscles.
Die Halswirbelsäule umfasst also die sieben Halswirbel C1-C7.The cervical spine comprises the entirety of the vertebrae between the head and the thoracic spine in humans. The two vertebrae closest to the skull have proper names, namely Atlas ("Nicker") and the Axis ("Dreher"). The upper part of the cervical spine with the skull base is called the head joint. Five further vertebrae C3-C7 follow. The cervical spine therefore comprises the seven cervical vertebrae C1-C7.
By far the most common injuries to the cervical spine and brain result from accidents. A moderate form of cervical spine injury is whiplash. There are also severe forms of whiplash that are associated with instability at the neck-head transition. Broken bones of the cervical spine can injure the spinal cord and lead to paraplegia.
The back of the neck is referred to below as the neck. He is responsible for the mobility of the head and large parts of the upper body. Anatomically, the neck includes the cervical spine and its connection to the back of the head (neck) as well as a large number of different muscles. The complex anatomical structures of the neck and neck muscles, the spine and the nerve roots make the neck area susceptible to a variety of injuries.
The neck goes into the shoulder and back area, where muscles are available to absorb energy. The shoulders are located in the upper area of the back and serve to absorb the shoulder joints. The back is the back of the human torso and extends from the bottom of the neck to the area of the loin.
The conventional protective systems available on the market usually serve special applications, which are often to be found in extreme sports. These protection systems can often not be used across all applications. This means that they are not suitable for everyday use. These protection systems severely restrict the user's freedom of movement. These protection systems are often characterized by neglected comfort and large, bulky volumes, which in turn makes handling more difficult.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a protection system which is characterized by a high level of comfort, a high level of suitability for everyday use and a great freedom of movement while at the same time ensuring a protective function. The protection system should in particular be usable across applications. The system should preferably be adaptable to different purposes.
This object is achieved by a modular body protection system according to
The helmet is preferably a half-shell helmet that is open at the front, especially in the chin area.
The system prevents extreme compression and stretching of the cervical spine in the event of pitching movements, whereby neither the lateral freedom of movement nor the comfort are restricted. The system prevents extreme accelerations. The system is lightweight and can be used in many different areas. The system can be used for extreme sports, but also in everyday life and at work. The system has a small volume, so that it is suitable for everyday use and system components can be easily integrated into normal items of clothing or worn over or under normal items of clothing.
Backward pitching movements are mechanically limited by a pitching end stop. Forward pitching movements are dampened by the elastic connection between the helmet and the neck support and then stopped.
The collar element preferably has a height so that the neck of the user is at least partially covered and so that the edges are at a predetermined distance from one another in the normal state, which permits rotary, pitching and rolling movements within an ordinary field of vision.
Covering the neck results in impact protection. The neck is supported from the outside. The cervical spine is stabilized.
It is also advantageous if the shoulder / back element is supported only on the back and / or shoulder of the user.
The force is introduced or redirected exclusively into the back and / or shoulders, where there is sufficient muscle to absorb and dissipate the energy that acts on the helmet. The chest area is spared, which increases comfort. Freedom of movement is retained, especially when looking left or right.
In a preferred embodiment, the connection is firmly connected to the helmet or the neck support and can be detachably connected to the neck support or the helmet.
The system can therefore be broken down into individual components (e.g. helmet, neck support, elastic connection, etc.), which is particularly advantageous when putting on and taking off, since the components can be put on or taken off one after the other. Only when all components have been tightened, are the components finally connected to form the overall system. The connection can be done manually.
Vorzugsweise ist die Verbindung ein elastischer Streifen. The connection is preferably an elastic strip.
An elastic strip or an elastic band is easy to produce and is easy to use. Reinforcements (parallel to the longitudinal direction or crosswise) can be incorporated into the strip, which allow for maximum stretching of the strip (in lengthways or laterally). The elastic strip supports the manually releasable connection between the helmet and the neck support.
It is also advantageous if only a single elastic connection is provided along a pitch plane between the helmet and the neck support.
The fewer connections between the helmet and the neck support, the greater the comfort. The effort to connect the helmet to the neck support is minimal. Since the connection is only provided along the pitch plane, the user can turn his head to the left and right without any problems. Such rotations are possible up to a maximum position in which an over-rotation of the head is prevented.
In a further special embodiment, the neck support has an opening angle of up to 180 °.
The system or neck support is easy to put on and covers the neck.
In particular, an upper region of the collar element, which lies opposite the lower edge of the helmet, is formed from a plastically deformable material, a remaining lower section of the collar element being formed from a non-deformable material.
The plastic deformability of the upper area of the collar element serves to absorb energy which is transferred from the helmet to the neck support during backward pitching movements. Since the lower area of the neck support does not deform, there is good power transmission of the residual energy into the back area of the user.
Optional kann das System einen Rückenschutz aufweisen. The system can optionally have a back protection.
In combination with a back protector, the entire spine of the user is protected. The back protection serves in particular to stabilize the helmet and neck support. The helmet, neck support and back protector extend in the pitch plane and thus improve energy absorption during backward pitching movements.
The neck support is preferably pivotally integrated in the back protection.
Due to the pivoting of the neck support, the user can freely decide whether and when to use the neck support. When swiveled in, the neck support supports the function of the back protection. When unfolded, the headrest limits backward pitching movements of the head or helmet.
It is also advantageous if the neck support is integrated in a piece of clothing, in particular in a jacket or shirt, or in a backpack.
It goes without saying that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the combination indicated in each case, but also in other combinations or on their own without departing from the scope of the present invention.

The
Different types of

The
The

It goes without saying that the

It is understood that the
The

It is also understood that the
