Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The object of the present invention is registering an improved foldable umbrella, which incorporates notable innovations and advantages over the techniques used hitherto.
  • More specifically, the invention proposes the development of an improved foldable umbrella, which due to its particular arrangement allows the advantages over conventional umbrellas to be offered such as giving a more consistent shade, not being so easily dragged due to the wind and having a more attractive exterior aspect than the conventional umbrella.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The umbrellas known in the prior art have a monotone aspect, hardly satisfying to look at.
  • In addition, the shade which it offers the user is that which is provided by a single layer of textile material, forming a pocket of hot air in the shade area.
  • Unfortunately, during days with windy conditions, the conventional umbrellas turn into flying objects, potentially causing serious problems.
  • Although no identical of similar invention has been found, below the documents found will be outlined which reflect the prior art related to the same.
  • Thus the document ES1013416U makes reference to an inflated umbrella consisting of a novel mechanism, which when being inflated and deflated, is provided with a valve or various valves with their corresponding stopper and a base for better maintainability which in this case does not enter into the mechanism thereof but is coupled to the umbrella, since it is a circular case type base with its handle and cover which closes with a screw and serves to fold and store the umbrella when it is not used or for easy transport. It is significantly distinguished from the invention applied for.
  • The document ES1056592U proposes a folding device for umbrellas, specifically for umbrellas provided with a telescopic shaft to which are articulatedly joined two set of rods, one upper and sustaining the cover element, and another lower articulated in turn to the first, and in which the telescopic displacement of the cited rod is carried out with the cooperation of a crank and by means of a suitable transmission mechanism such as for example a spindle and nut system which the set of lower rods is articulatedly joined to a bushing longitudinally displaceable on the shaft, a bushing to which the end of at least one cable is connected, following an initial travel and ascending up a pole conveniently established close to the upper end of the shaft, to then descend to the axis of the actuation handle, such that the actuation of said handle also entails, parallel to a telescopic extension of the shaft by means of ascending displacement of the moveable support which is involved in the same, a descending of the lower bushing with the consequent shortening of the telescopic shaft in a limited closing situation for the umbrella. It is also significantly distinguished from the umbrella applied for.
  • None of the previous documents found solve the problems posed as the proposed invention does.
  • The present invention helps to solve the present problem since it offers a more consistent shade and does not get dragged as easily by the wind and has a more attractive exterior aspect than the conventional umbrella.
  • The application of the present invention is in the sector of the industry of umbrellas and especially umbrellas with interlaced and artistically decorated sheets.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention has been developed with the aim of providing an improved foldable umbrella which is essentially characterized by the fact that it comprises a noticeably tubular central axis supported on or inserted in the ground, an extendible longitudinal structure, an extendible elastic harness and noticeably elongated covers, the structure being constituted by plates articulated to each other with a repetitive parallelogram configuration and cross-linked in the manner of scissors providing the structure with extendible capacity in the direction of longitudinal axis thereof, the central axis being positioned in its longitudinal interior, noticeably matching the longitudinal axis of said structure, the harness being concentric with the same central axis and linearly extendible along the central axis, therefore having a contracted position due to its elastic nature and another extended position to overcome the elastic resistance, the structure having a plurality of levels differentiated and determined by the arrangement of the plates in repetitive parallelogram configuration and by the arrangement thereof in the manner of scissors, and the structure having at each level the noticeably elongated covers inserted into the plates and with an orientation with respect to the central axis variable according to the degree of extension of the structure itself and the movement of each one of the covers being in accordance with the degree of extension of the structure itself contained in one plane which contains in turn the central axis and the assembly of the covers being arranged radially around the central axis and the harness being positioned on the central axis below the structure, such that if the harness is in a contracted position, the structure is in an extended position along the central axis and with the covers at a noticeably parallel inclination to the central axis and if the harness is in an extended position, it forces the structure to be in a contracted position and with the covers noticeably inclined perpendicular to the central axis.
  • Alternatively, in the improved foldable umbrella, the elastic harness is displaceable along the central axis and on the central axis there is a support in the form of a trigger, arranged such that during the displacement of the elastic harness along the central axis towards the position just below the structure, the harness pushes the support towards the interior of the central axis to surpass it and once surpassed, the harness is supported on said support.
  • Additionally, in the improved foldable umbrella, the harness has rings enabled for the passage of a bolt such that the harness remains in an extended position when the bolt is passed through the rings, overcoming the elastic resistance of the harness itself.
  • Moreover, in the improved foldable umbrella, the bolt is joined to a sail, said sail having a form suitable for being dragged by the surrounding wind.
  • Thanks to the present invention, advantages over conventional umbrellas can be offered such as giving a more consistent shade, not being so easily dragged due to the wind and having a more attractive exterior aspect than the conventional umbrella.
  • Other characteristics and advantages of the improved foldable umbrella are evident from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment which is depicted in an exemplary and non-limiting manner in the drawings which are attached, in which:
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
    • Figure 1 is a schematic view of a modality of a preferred embodiment of the improved foldable umbrellas of the present invention.
    • Figure 2 is a diagram of a detail of a modality of a preferred embodiment of the improved foldable umbrella of the present invention.
    • Figure 3 is a schematic view of a foldable detail of a modality of a preferred embodiment of the improved foldable umbrella of the present invention.
    DESCRIPTION OF AN EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENT
  • As shown in the schematic depiction of Fig. 1, the improved foldable umbrella of the invention comprises a noticeably tubular central axis 1 which is supported on or inserted into the ground, a longitudinal extendible structure 2, an elastic extendible harness 3 and noticeably elongated covers 4.
  • The structure 2 is formed by plates 21 articulated to each other with a repetitive parallelogram configuration and interlaced in the manner of scissors, providing the structure 2 with an extendible capacity in the direction of the longitudinal axis thereof.
  • In the longitudinal interior of the structure 2 is positioned the central axis 1 which is noticeably matching the longitudinal axis of the structure 2.
  • The elastic harness 3 is concentric with the same central axis 1 and is linearly extendible along said central axis 1, having a contracted position due to the elastic nature thereof and another extended position when the elastic resistance is overcome.
  • The structure 2 has a plurality of levels differentiated and determined by the arrangement of the plates 21 in repetitive parallelogram configuration and by the arranged thereof in the manner of scissors. The structure 2 has at each level the covers noticeably elongated and inserted into the plates 21, as can be observed in Figs. 1 and 2.
  • In this modality of the preferred embodiment, the structure 2 has four levels, and in each level four covers 4, as can be observed in Fig. 1. For a better view, in Fig. 1, only two covers 4 per level are represented.
  • The covers 4 have an orientation with respect to the central axis 1 which is variable according to the degree of extension of the structure 2 itself, when the inclination of the plates 21 is varied according to the degree of extension of the structure 2 in which plates 21 the covers 4 are in turn inserted.
  • The movement of each one of the covers 4 according to the degree of extension of the structure 2 itself, is contained in one plane which in turn contains the central axis 1. Furthermore, the assembly of the covers 4 is arranged radially around the central axis 1.
  • The elastic harness 3 can be displaced along the central axis 1. On the central axis 1 there is a support 5 in the form of a trigger, arranged such that during the displacement of the elastic harness 3 along the central axis 1 towards the position just below the structure 2, the harness 3 can pass, pushing the support 5 towards the interior of the central axis 1, but once surpassed, the harness 3 is supported on said support 5, as can be observed in Fig. 3.
  • The elastic harness 3 is positioned concentrically on the central axis 1, just below the structure 2, such that if the harness 3 is in a contracted position, the structure 2 is in an extended position along the central axis 1 and if the harness 3 is in an extended position it forces the structure 2 to be in a contracted position since the harness 3 is supported in turn on the support 5, as has been explained previously and can be observed comparatively in Figs. 1 and 3.
  • If the structure 2 is in an extended position, due to the inclination of the plates 21 the covers 4 have a noticeably parallel inclination to the central axis 1 and therefore are in a folded arrangement, as is depicted schematically in Fig. 1.
  • Whereas, as is depicted schematically in Fig. 3, if the structure 2 is in a contracted position, due to the change of inclination of the plates 21 the covers 4 have a noticeably perpendicular inclination to the central axis 1 and therefore are in a folded out arrangement in order to thus offer their benefits as an umbrella.
  • Furthermore, in this modality of the preferred embodiment, the harness 3 has rings 31 enabled for the passage of a bolt 32, such that the harness 3 remains in an extended position when the bolt 32 is passed through the rings 31, overcoming the elastic resistance of the harness 3 itself and therefore both the structure 2 remaining in a contracted position and the covers 4 folded out, as can be observed in Fig. 3 itself.
  • In this modality of the preferred embodiment, the bolt 32 is joined to a sail 33, said sail 33 having a form suitable for being dragged by the surrounding wind and thus being displaced by the action of the wind surrounding the bolt 32 from its position passing through the rings 31, as is schematically depicted in Fig. 3. When this occurs, the elastic harness 3 then returns to its contracted position by its own elastic nature, therefore the structure 2 goes to its extended position and the covers 4 goes to a folded position represented in Fig. 1.
  • The improved foldable umbrella, object of the invention, offers an attractive decorative sight, even when closed, each user being able to personalize the exterior aspect of their own umbrella, since its covers 4 are interchangeable, for example in order to configure an umbrella with a flower aspect.
  • Each cover 4 would be a petal, said covers 4 being in the form of interlaced petals at different levels and the assembly thereof forming an appearance in the manner of a flower. Each cover 4 in the form of a petal is independent, not touching each other, but provide a compact shade by the interlacing of said covers 4 and therefore do not form a pocket of hot air in their shade, but the shade is more consistent and fresher.
  • The details, the forms, the dimensions and other accessory elements, as well as the materials used in the manufacture of the improved foldable umbrella of the invention, can be conveniently substituted with others which are technically equivalent and do not deviate from the essence of the invention or from the scope defined by the claims which are included below.
