Claims (10)

  1. Arrangement for mounting an injector (28) on a cylinder head (10) of the combustion engine of a motor vehicle, the injector (28) having a vertical main axis (A) and comprising a lower end injection portion (30) which is intended to be inserted into a well (36) in the cylinder head (10), the injection portion (30) comprising at least two transversely opposed lateral notches (42), the arrangement comprising a fixing clamp (50) which comprises:
    - a fixing part (58) which is intended to be fixed to the cylinder head (10),
    - two retaining elements (66) in the shape of cylinders of revolution which are intended to be inserted in the lateral notches (42) so as to hold the injector (28) vertically in the well (36) ;
    - a rigid fork (52) which comprises two transversely separated longitudinal arms (54) between which the injection portion (30) is able to slide axially
    wherein the two retaining elements (66) are mounted with the ability to move transversely between a parted position in which they are parted by a distance greater than the largest diameter (D1) of the injection portion (30) and a closer-together position towards which they are elastically returned and in which each retaining element (66) is capable of being fitted transversely into the associated lateral notch (42),
    characterized in that each retaining element (66) is mounted with the ability to slide transversely in an associated arm (54) and has a face (82) in the form of a ramp facing axially upwards so that as it is inserted vertical into the well (36), the injection portion (30) between the arms (54) presses on the ramps (82) of the retaining elements (66) in order to make them slide towards their parted position.
  2. Arrangement according to Claim 1, characterized in that the retaining elements (66) have a lower abutment face (100) which blocks the upwards vertical sliding of the injector (28) with respect to the clamp (50) when the retaining elements (66) are fitted into the lateral notches (42).
  3. Arrangement according to either one of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that each retaining element (66) comprises a planar free-end face (86) which extends longitudinally to block the rotation of the injector (28) by contact with a flat bottom (44) of the notch (42) .
  4. Arrangement according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fixing part (58) of the clamp (50) is capable of being fixed to the cylinder head (10) by means of a screw (60) of vertical axis.
  5. Arrangement according to the preceding claim, characterized in that a spherical levelling washer (90) is interposed between a head of the screw (60) and the clamp (50) in order to allow the clamp (50) to pivot with respect to the cylinder head (10) when the screw (60) is not tightened, notably in order to allow a perpendicularity defect to be corrected.
  6. Arrangement according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an elastic return member (92) working in compression is interposed between the fork (52) of the clamp (50) and the cylinder head (10) so as to allow the clamp (50) to be held in position on the cylinder head (10) with limited movement before the clamp (50) is fixed to the cylinder head (10).
  7. Arrangement according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a cylinder head cover (24) is arranged over the cylinder head (10), the clamp (50) being interposed between the cylinder head (10) and the cylinder head cover (24), the cylinder head cover (24) comprising an orifice (41) for the insertion of the injector which orifice is arranged to coincide with the well (36).
  8. Arrangement according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the cylinder head cover (24) comprises a passage (96) providing access to the fixing part (58) of the clamp (50).
  9. Arrangement according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the clamp (50) is fixed to the cylinder head via a support (18) for a cam shaft (16), which support is itself fixed directly to the cylinder head (10).
  10. Method for fixing an injector (28) to a cylinder head (10) employing the arrangement according to Claim 9 taken in combination with Claims 4 to 6, characterized in that it comprises the following successive steps:
    - a first step (E1) of the positioning the clamp (50) on the cylinder head (10) with the interposition of the elastic return member (92) between the fork (52) and the cylinder head (10);
    - a second step (E2) of holding the clamp (50) in position by means of a screw (60) that is not yet tightened, so as to maintain limited pivoting of the clamp (50) with respect to the cylinder head (10);
    - a third step (E3) of mounting of the cylinder head cover (24) on the cylinder head (10);
    - a fourth step (E4) of inserting the injection portion (30) into the insertion orifice (41) in the cylinder head cover (24) and into the well (36) in the cylinder head (10) until the retaining elements (66) are fitted elastically into the lateral notches (42);
    - a fifth step (E5) of rigidly fixing the clamp (50) to the cylinder head (10) and which consists in tightening the screw (60) by passing a suitable tool through the access passage (96);
    - a sixth step (E6) of plugging, during which the access passage (96) is re-sealed using a plug (98) .
