Description

DRIVE SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a drive system for driving a displacement movement of a screening device, comprising
- a first gearwheel, for driving a first toothed belt or chain on a first side of the screening device;
a second gearwheel, for driving a second toothed belt or chain on a second side of the screening device, opposite to the first side;
a tube motor, for driving the first gearwheel and the second gearwheel;
- and a tube, in which the tube motor is arranged and on which the gearwheels are mounted at a respective end.
By a gearwheel is here understood a wheel or a cylindrical piece which, on its shell, is provided with a toothing. By this term is thus also understood a toothed belt pulley.
By a screening device is here understood a device with which an opening can be screened against sun, precipitation, wind, intruders, etc. This can be a matter of a blind, a shutter device, a garage door, etc.
The present invention relates to screening devices of this type in which at least one element is displaceably arranged. Typically, a shaft is here arranged displaceably in a plane parallel to itself. This shaft can be provided at an end of a shutter or plate-like element, or the shaft can be of a slat, etc. With a drive system according to the present invention, this displaceable element can be displaced. For this purpose, this drive system is realized as a toothed belt drive system or a chain drive system.
Typical screening devices in which a drive system according to the present invention can be used are known, for example, from BE 1 018 083 A5, BE 1 019 792 A5, BE 1 020 042 A3 or BE 1 020 351 A3 of the present Applicant.
Variants of screening devices in which a chain drive is used are known, for example, from EP 1 418 307 Al or US 5,584,331 A. A toothed belt drive system or chain drive system according to the present invention could be used as an alternative to such a chain drive system.
Variants of screening devices in which a toothed belt drive is used are known, for example, from FR 2 672 929 Al, WO 00/75474 Al or US 2010/0282418 Al . A toothed belt drive system or chain drive system according to the present invention could be used as an alternative to the toothed belt drive systems described herein. With a drive system according to the invention, the displaceable element from the screening device is engaged on both sides in order to displace this synchronously on both sides with the aid of a toothed belt or chain.
For this purpose, the gearwheels on which these toothed belts or chains run need to be arranged extremely accurately in line with each other and to be synchronously driven. In practice, this is not easily realizable.
In Figures 1 and 2, a typical such drive system (1) according to the prior art is depicted. This drive system (1) comprises a tube motor (2), which is mounted in a tube (3). Mounted in the ends of the tube (3) are end pieces (6), to which gearwheels (4, 5) are fastened. The tube (3) is provided with an internal profiling, so that the end pieces can be correctly positioned with respect to the tube (3) in order thus to align the gearwheels (4, 5) with respect to each other. The tube motor (2) can drive the tube (3), and thus both gearwheels (4, 5). The end pieces (6) from this solution according to the prior art are complex pieces to produce. The gearwheels need (4, 5) to be accurately fastened to these end pieces (6).
The object of the present invention is to find an easier solution for placing the gearwheels from such a drive system accurately with respect to each other and for being able to drive them synchronously.
This object of the present invention is achieved by providing a drive system for driving a displacement movement of a screening device, comprising:
- a first gearwheel, for driving a first toothed belt or chain on a first side of the screening device;
a second gearwheel, for driving a second toothed belt or chain on a second side of the screening device, opposite to the first side;
a tube motor, for driving the first gearwheel and the second gearwheel;
- and a tube, in which the tube motor is arranged and on which the gearwheels are mounted at a respective end, which tube, over at least a part of its length adjacent to each of its ends, is profiled with a toothing, such that its first end forms the first gearwheel and its second end forms the second gearwheel. By providing the tube at least a part of its length with the necessary toothing, the gearwheels are formed from one and the same toothing, such that they are always exactly aligned with respect to each other. These gearwheels no longer need to be fastened to this tube with complex end pieces, but are formed directly from this tube.
In an embodiment which is advantageous to produce, the tube is profiled with the said toothing over its entire length.
A preferred embodiment of a drive system according to the present invention comprises two end fittings, which are each provided to close off a respective end of the tube, such that they form a vertical rim with respect to the respective gearwheel, for the guidance of the corresponding toothed belt or chain. End fittings of this type are easier to realize than, for example, the end pieces from the prior art, since they do not need to be adapted in order to be able to accurately align different component parts with respect to one another. They need only be suitable as a guide for a toothed belt or chain.
An end fitting of this type can consist, for example, simply of a ring or a disc, which is fastenable to the respective end of the tube. This ring or disc then comprises an outer diameter which is greater than the outer diameter of the tube.
A further preferred embodiment of a drive system according to the present invention comprises two guide rings, which are each fittable around the circumference of the tube to form, at a distance from a respective end of the tube, a vertical rim with respect to the respective gearwheel, for the guidance of the corresponding toothed belt or chain. Guide rings of this type are also very simple to produce.
The tube of an easily realizable embodiment of a drive system according to the present invention is produced by means of extrusion. The object of the present invention is additionally also met by providing a screening device comprising a drive system according to the present invention.
The present invention is now explained in greater detail on the basis of the hereinafter following detailed description of a preferred drive system according to the present invention. The aim of this description is solely to provide illustrative examples and to indicate further advantages and particularities of the present invention, and can thus not be interpreted as a limitation of the field of application of the invention or of the patent rights claimed in the claims. In this detailed description, reference is made by means of reference numerals to the appended drawings, wherein
Figure 1 represents a drive system according to the prior art in perspective; Figure 2 represents the drive system from Figure 1 in exploded perspective; Figure 3 represents an embodiment of a drive system according to the present invention in perspective;
Figure 4 represents the drive system from Figure 3 in exploded perspective.
The drive system (1) according to the prior art, as depicted in Figures 1 and 2, has already been described above in the introduction.
Just like the depicted drive system (1) according to the prior art, the depicted drive system (1 1) according to the present invention comprises a tube motor (12), which is fitted in a tube (13), for driving this tube (13) in order thus to synchronously drive two gearwheels (14, 15) at the ends of this tube (13). With these gearwheels (14, 15), toothed belts can then synchronously be driven. These toothed belts can be arranged on both sides of a screening device in order herewith to drive a displacement movement of a displaceable component part of this screening device.
According to the invention, the tube (13) of the drive system (1) is now profiled, such that its cross section is equal over its entire length. This tube (13) is provided externally with a toothing. This toothing is chosen in accord with the necessary toothing for the gearwheels (14, 15), such that the ends of this tube (13) can serve directly as the gearwheel (14, 15). Since these gearwheels (14, 15) are formed from a same toothing on the circumference of the tube, they are perfectly aligned with respect to each other, so that the tube motor (12) can easily drive both gearwheels (14, 15) synchronously by driving of the tube (13).
In order to realize this tube (13) in profiled construction, it can advantageously be produced by means of extrusion.
At the ends of the tube (13), end fittings (16) are provided. The end fitting (16) at the end where the tube motor (12) is arranged is of annular construction, such that the tube motor (12) is fastenable in the tube (13) through this end fitting (16). The end fitting (16) at the opposite end is of disc-shaped construction, such that this corresponding end of the tube (13) can hereby be completely closed off. Both end fittings (16) have an outer diameter which is greater than the outer diameter of the tube (13), such that they form a first vertical rim, for the guidance of a toothed belt on the corresponding end of the tube (13), which end serves as the gearwheel (14, 15).
Furthermore, for the guidance of a toothed belt of this type, the drive system (1) comprises two guide rings (17), which are each fittable around the circumference of the tube (13). These guide rings (17) are fastened at a distance from a respective end of the tube (13) to form a second vertical rim at a distance from the respective end fitting (16). In this way, each toothed belt can be guided between a first vertical rim, formed by the respective end fitting (16), and a second vertical rim, formed by the respective guide ring (17).
