Definitions
- the present invention is in the field of fragrance storage materials, as they are used for example in the field of detergents or cleaners, cosmetics and air care products.
- the invention relates to specific ketones which function as photolabile fragrance storage materials.
- the present invention relates to detergents or cleaners, cosmetics and air care products containing such ketones. It also relates to a process for the long-lasting scenting of surfaces and also to a process for long-lasting scenting of the room.
- Detergents or cleaners or cosmetic products usually contain fragrances that give the products a pleasant smell. In most cases, the fragrances mask the odor of the other ingredients, resulting in a pleasant odor impression for the consumer.
- Fragrances are important constituents of the composition, in particular in the area of detergents, since the laundry should have a pleasant and if possible fresh fragrance both in the moist and in the dry state.
- fragrances When it comes to the use of fragrances, one generally faces the problem that these are more or less volatile compounds, but nevertheless a long-lasting fragrant effect is desired.
- Delayed fragrance release may be e.g. carried out by carrier-bound use of fragrances.
- a carrier-bound preform of a fragrance is also referred to as a "pro-fragrance" or fragrance storage agent.
- One possibility of sustained release of fragrances is the use of so-called photoactivatable substances as fragrance storage agents.
- US Patent 6,949,680 discloses the use of certain phenyl or pyridyl ketones as photoactivatable substances which in the presence of light in a photochemical
- the said active substance has, for example, a fragrant or antimicrobial activity, which is delayed by the photochemically induced decomposition and released over a longer period of time on a certain surface.
- WO 2009/1 18219 A1 discloses photoactivatable substances which enable a release of cyclic terpenes or cyclic terpenoids.
- WO 201 1/101 180 discloses the use of certain ketones as photoactivatable substances which release an active substance in the presence of light in a photochemical fragmentation.
- the active substance mentioned has, for example, a fragrant activity, which is delayed by the photochemically induced decomposition and released over a longer period of time on a certain surface.
- the object of the present invention was to provide photoactivatable substances as fragrance storage substances which permit the delayed release of fragrance ketones, in particular of different damascones.

- Y is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, acyl, -OH, -Oalkyl, -NH 2 , NH-alkyl, -N (alkyl) 2 or halogen;
- R8, R9, R10 each independently represent H or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl or acyl groups-containing radical and wherein in each case two of the radicals R8, R9, R10 may be connected to each other by ring closure.
- ketones according to the invention are particularly effective fragrance storage substances which permit the delayed release of fragrance ketones, in particular of different damascones. Furthermore, the increase in molecular weight over known from the prior art fragrance storage materials to further reduce the volatility.
- the application of the ketones of the invention in detergents, cleaners or care products resulted in their use to an improved fragrance storage substances
- compositions according to the invention make it possible to reduce the total amount of perfume which is contained on average, and nevertheless to achieve odor advantages on the laundered textiles, in particular with regard to the sensation of freshness.
- the ketone according to the general formula (I) according to the invention is suitable as fragrance storage substance for all customary alpha, beta-unsaturated fragrance ketones, in particular selected from iso-jasmone; Musk indanone (6,7-dihydro-1,1,3,3,3-pentamethyl-4 (5H) -indanone); alpha damascone, beta damascone, delta damascone, gamma damascone, damascenone, damarose, carvone, alpha-ionone, beta-ionone, gamma-methyl called ionone, dihydrojasmon, cis-jasmone, methyl cedryl ketone or methyl cedrone, celery ketone or Livescone, Gelson, Hexalon, Neobutenone, Tetrameran or mixtures thereof.
- the ketones may be selected from the damascones, carvone, gamma-methyl-ionone, damascenone, methyl cedryl ketone, and mixtures thereof. Most all Damascone and Damascenone are preferred. By exposure to light comprising the wavelengths of 200 to 600 nm, the stored ketones can be released.

GC/MS: (25-320 M), m/z: 326, 297, 177, 163, 147, 134, 121 , 104, 92, 77, 66, 57. tR (25-320M) = 24.224
1H-NMR: (400 MHz, CDCb) δ (ppm) = 7.88 (d, 4H); 6.91 (d, 4H); 4.35 (s, 4H); 2.90 (m, 4H); 1.17 (m, 6H).
