Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a linear flexible textile product for textronic applications, especially a textile flexible tape with conductive elements.
- Textronics is an interdisciplinary field, combining textiles, electronics and informatics. Textronic products combine textiles and electronic systems in order to obtain monitoring, recording or regulating, etc., properties. Their main application is for the manufacture of intelligent utility products, mainly garments, that allow to measure such parameters as, among others, internal or external temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure, skin humidity, and the presence of harmful substances. The readings of sensors placed in various parts of garments may be sent to the monitoring centre (e.g., for the monitoring of firemen during firefighting). An important issue is an adequate arrangement and fixing of electronic elements in the textile product, the supplying of power to them and the receipt of signals. Therefore, conductive elements used for giving electroconductive properties to flat textiles are incorporated into garments.
- the conductive elements are inextensible, but the knitted or woven fabrics are elastic (able to be stretched). The risk of breaking the wire while stretching the textile product is very low.
- the linear flexible textile product for textronic applications manufactured by knitting or weaving technique, has conductive elements that are placed non- rectilinearly on at least one of its surfaces or inside the structure of a flat textile product, and that are bonded with the structure of the textile product.
- Conductive elements are placed on the surface or inside the structure of a flat textile product in one technological process, during knitting or weaving. Conductive elements are placed during knitting or weaving on the surface or inside the structure of a textile product along a wavy line, or a wavy and loopy line, or a zigzag line, or a stepped line.
- At least one arrangement of basic threads is made from elastic yarns.
- conductive threads are inserted between underlaps and loop legs of loops in a warp-knitted structure, or they form loops, according to a designed pattern.
- woven fabric conductive threads are bonded with the threads of the basic structure by selected warp threads according to a designed pattern.
- the conductive element is a wire twisted together with the yarn and additionally wrapped or wrapped only with the yarn.
- conductive threads are placed according to a wavy, sinusoid-like pattern; and the basic threads are made from a PES 76 dtex elastic texturized yarn; and the basic weft threads are made from a PES 150 dtex polyester texturized yarn; and conductive threads of the total linear mass of 840 dtex and maximum linear resistance of 5 ⁇ /m are made from composite electroconductive thread containing a copper monofilament plated by silver of the diameter of 0.07mm, twisted with multifilament polyester yarns.
- the linear flexible textile product according to the invention has conductive elements that are permanently bonded with its structure and that are unable to break when using the textile product.
- Such textiles with conductive elements may be embedded into various kinds of garments or technical products; they may also make an independent conductive system.
- Electronic elements such as sensors, recorders, transmitters, indicators, and other, may be placed on garments or technical products in any way and at any place.
- the endings of conductive elements in the linear textile product may be connected with one another and with external sources of power supply.
- the method according to the invention allows to incorporate a different number of conductive threads placed at different intervals according to designed different non-rectilinear patterns.
- the developed flexible basic structure of the linear product guarantees correct conditions of its finishing processes and, in combination with non- rectilinear arrangement of conductive threads, allows to stretch the product without the loss of conductivity.
- conductive threads 3 are placed in the flat textile product, warp knitted fabric, made of wales I (made by combining loops 2 with one another) and weft 7 placed along the courses.
- Conductive threads 3 are non-rectilinearly incorporated between underlaps 4 and loop legs 5 of selected wales according to a designed pattern.
- conductive threads 3 are permanently bonded with the structure of the textile product.
- conductive threads 3 are placed along a wavy sinusoid-like pattern.
- Basic threads 6 are made from a PES 76 dtex texturized elastic yarn
- basic weft threads 7 are made from a PES 150 dtex texturized polyester yarn.
- Conductive threads 3, of the total linear mass of 840 dtex and maximum linear resistance of 5 ⁇ /m, are made from composite electroconductive thread containing a copper monofilament plated by silver, of the diameter of 0.07mm, twisted with multifilament polyester yarns.
- the basic structure of the product is flexible, and the linear product is designed in such a way that due to a special non-rectilinear arrangement of conductive threads 3 and the way of their bonding with the basic arrangement, when the product is stretched, conductive threads 3 are not exposed to stretching, therefore there is no risk of their breaking that would lead to the loss of conductivity.
- the product according to the invention allows to freely place and fix electronic elements that can monitor different parameters. Tapes may be embedded into different kinds of clothing and technical textiles, or make an independent conductive system; it is possible to create any system of connections.
- the tape according to the invention may become a pattern element, retaining its electroconductive properties.
