Abstract

A label (1) for a thermally insulating container is formed from a flat, on its upper surface printable material and provided on its underside with an adhesive layer. The label (1) has a central area (2) from which two wings (3, 4) extend on opposite sides, the lines of weakness extending over the entire length (3L, 4L) of the wings (3, 4) ( 3C, 3D, 4C, 4D). Description

The invention relates to the field of thermally insulating packaging, especially in the food industry. Such packages are intended for tempering temperature critical products for a period of time, e.g. for keeping ice cream or keeping freshly cooked food cool.

The term "thermo-packaging" is a thermally insulating packaging comprising a container made of foamed polystyrene, the interior of which is accessible through an opening which is closed by a lid made of foamed polystyrene. Such thermal packs are often used in ice cream shops as take-away packaging. After filling the container and closing it with the lid, the lid is fixed to the container with adhesive tape. A disadvantage of this known container on the one hand, that the sealed container can be opened again only after cumbersome slicing of the adhesive tape. Furthermore, the adhesive tape stored on rolls offers no possibility of individualizing the thermal packaging.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to overcome the mentioned disadvantages of the known thermal packaging.

The invention achieves this object by providing a label having the features of claim 1. The invention solves this problem further by providing a set of a label according to the invention and a lid made of thermally insulating material, and by providing a combination of a set according to the invention from a label and a lid and a container of thermally insulating material. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are set forth in the subclaims.

The label according to the invention for a thermally insulating container is formed from a flat, printable material on its upper side, in particular paper, plastic film or a composite of paper and plastic film, and is provided on its underside with an adhesive layer. In order to make the opening of a packaging sealed with the label according to the invention particularly simple for the consumer, it is provided to form the weakening lines of the wings as perforations, cuts, weakening of the material or tear-off threads incorporated in the label material. A particularly simple handling when tearing the label is achieved by the wings have adjacent to the weakening lines arranged extensions. Fig. 1 shows in plan view an inventive label 1 for a thermally insulating container. The label 1 is a self-adhesive label, which is formed from a flat, printable on its upper material, in particular paper, plastic film or a composite of paper and plastic film, and is provided on its underside with an adhesive layer. The label 1 has a central area 2 having a width 2B and a length 2L. The shape of the central area 2 is not restricted.
