Die erfindungsgemäße Duschabtrennung und / oder deren bevorzugt als Tür ausgebildetes Trennelement zeichnen sich durch eine einfache und funktionsgerechte Konstruktion aus, wobei insbesondere im Bereich der Unterkante nur ein einziger Übergangsbereich zwischen der Innenfläche des insbesondere als Glasplatte ausgebildeten Trennelements und dem Dichtprofil vorhanden ist. Dies gilt gleichermaßen für die Außenseite des Trennelements, zumal das Dichtprofil im Wesentlichen die gleiche Breite wie das bevorzugt als Platte, insbesondere als Glasplatte, ausgebildete Trennelement aufweist. Bei Anordnung des Dichtprofils an der Unterkante des Trennelements enthält das Dichtprofil zweckmäßig eine Dichtlippe und weiterhin einen Abweiser für vom Trennelement herabfließendes Wasser. Erfindungsgemäß kann das Dichtprofil auch zur Abdichtung eines Spaltes zwischen einer vertikalen Längskante des Trennelements und einem feststehenden Element oder einer Raumwand oder dergleichen angeordnet und / oder ausgebildet sein, wobei das als Tür ausgebildete Trennelement mittels geeigneter Scharniere oder Beschläge mit dem feststehendem Element oder einer Raumwand oder dergleichen schwenkbar verbunden ist. Das Dichtprofil erstreckt sich im Wesentlichen über die gesamte Länge der Unterkante bzw. der Längskante des Trennelements. Im Gegensatz zur eingangs erwähnten Duschabtrennung ist erfindungsgemäß kein Basisprofil vorhanden, sondern das Dichtprofil ist unmittelbar an der Unterkante und / oder an der Längskante angeordnet. Das Dichtprofil enthält einen Träger mit einer Anlagefläche, welche direkt und / oder unmittelbar an der genannten Unter- oder Längskante anliegt. Der Träger weist einen von der Anlagefläche ausgehenden und / oder in einem rechten Winkel abstehenden Verbindungskörper auf, welcher in eine Nut des Trennelements eingreift und verankert ist. Nachfolgend werden der Einfachheit halber die Unterkante und die Längskante als Stirnkante bezeichnet. Die Stirnkante enthält die hinterschnittig ausgebildete Nut, in welche ein Verbindungskörper des Trägers zur direkten Festlegung des Dichtprofils an der Stirnkante des Trennelements eingreift. Die in die Stirnkante des Trennelements, welches insbesondere eine Glasplatte ist, eingebrachte Nut weist zwei Bereiche auf, und zwar einen Durchgangsbereich und im Inneren des Trennelements eine hinterschnittene Erweiterung. Die Nut enthält einen von der Stirnkante ausgehenden trichterförmigen Eintrittsbereich, welcher sich zum Durchgangsbereich hin verjüngt, wodurch bei Herstellung der Verbindung und / oder der Montage des Dichtprofils das Einführen und / oder Eindrücken des Verbindungskörpers in die Nut erleichtert wird. Der Verbindungskörper enthält einen Steg und ein Kopfteil, wobei der Steg dem Durchgangsbereich zugeordnet ist und das Kopfteil sich in der hinterschnittenen Erweiterung befindet. Das Kopfteil enthält seitliche Ankerteile, welche auf zugeordneten Stützflächen der Erweiterung abgestützt sind, um eine funktionssichere Verbindung und / oder Festlegung des Dichtprofils an der Stirnkante des Trennelements sicherzustellen. Es sei hier ausdrücklich festgehalten, dass das Dichtprofil aus einem federelastischen Material, wie Elastomer, Kunststoff oder Gummi oder dergleichen besteht. Des Weiteren ist das Dichtprofil mit dem Träger, dem Verbindungskörper und einer Dichtlippe bzw. einem Dichtbalg oder dergleichen einteilig ausgebildet.
Zwischen dem Steg und den Innenflächen ist im Durchgangsbereich der Nut zweckmäßig zu beiden Seiten hin ein Freiraum vorhanden, wobei die Breite des Stegs um einen vorgegebenen Betrag kleiner ist als die Weite des Durchgangsbereichs. Somit können bei der Montage und / oder beim Einführen und / oder Eindrücken des Verbindungskörpers in die Nut die seitlichen Ankerteile in Richtung zum Steg verformt und / oder bewegt werden, derart, dass nur ein vergleichweise geringer Widerstand zu überwinden ist bzw. eine vergleichsweise geringe Einschubkraft erforderlich ist. Die Nut und der Verbindungskörper sind derart aufeinander abgestimmt, dass nach der Montage und / oder Herstellung der Verbindung das Kopfteil und dessen seitliche Ankerteile sich in der Erweiterung befinden und die Ankerteile auf den Stützflächen der Erweiterung aufliegen und / oder abgestützt sind.
Der Träger weist im Wesentlichen die gleiche Breite wie das Trennelement auf und enthält an seinen seitlichen Enden jeweils Anlagekörper mit abgeschrägten Flächen, welche an den Fasen des Trennelements anliegen, wobei die genannten Fasen sich in den Ecken des Trennelements zwischen der Stirnfläche und der Innenfläche bzw. der Außenfläche des Trennelements befinden. Die seitlichen Endflächen des Trägers und somit des Dichtprofils sind flächenbündig zur Innenfläche bzw. der Außenfläche des Trennelements, wobei jeweils ein einziger glatter Übergang vorhanden ist und somit die Ablagerung von Kalk, Schmutz oder dergleichen weitgehend vermieden wird.
Das Trennelement weist vorteilhaft eine Breite im Bereich 6 bis 10 mm, bevorzugt im Bereich 8 bis 9 mm, auf. Insbesondere wenn das Trennelement aus Glas besteht, hat sich eine Breite oder Dicke ab 8 mm als besonders geeignet erwiesen, um eine Nut in das Glas einzufräsen. Hierfür kann ein Kugelfräser verwendet werden.
Das Dichtprofil ist reversibel in die Nut einfügbar, wobei die Kraft, die zum Einfügen oder Eindrücken des Dichtprofils erforderlich ist, geringer ist als die Kraft, die zum Entnehmen oder Herausziehen des Dichtprofils erforderlich ist. Hierdurch wird das Dichtprofil nicht so leicht vom Trennelement separiert, beispielsweise wenn das Dichtprofil auf einem Boden gleitet.
Weiterbildungen und besondere Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind in den Unteransprüchen sowie der nachfolgenden Beschreibung von zwei besonderen Ausführungsbeispielen angegeben und ferner in der Zeichnung dargestellt.
Die Erfindung wird nachfolgend anhand der dargestellten besonderen Ausführungsbeispiele näher erläutert, ohne dass insoweit eine Beschränkung erfolgt, wobei der Umfang nur durch die beigefügten Ansprüche definiert ist. Es zeigen in schematischen Darstellungen:
