Definitions
- the invention relates to a cleaning tool for a floor cleaning appliance with a base body, which carries a cleaning pad subject to wear, and with a signal generator, which provides a wireless signal depending on the degree of wear of the cleaning pad.
- Floor cleaning equipment such as sweepers, scrubbers or floor polishing machines, have a cleaning tool with a body carrying a cleaning pad.
- the cleaning pad can be configured for example in the form of a bristle covering, a polishing pad or a cleaning pad and is subject to increasing wear when using the cleaning tool. Upon reaching a maximum allowable degree of wear, the cleaning tool should be replaced, otherwise there is a risk of damage to the floor surface to be cleaned and also the achievable cleaning result is insufficient.
- the wear of the cleaning pad is often visually inspected by the user. However, this is in many cases associated with difficulties, since the cleaning tool is often positioned in a housing of the floor cleaning device and therefore can not be readily viewed by the user from the outside.
- Object of the present invention is to develop a cleaning tool of the generic type such that wear of the cleaning pad can be detected in a cost effective manner.
- the signal generator is designed to be rigid and fixed to a movable support member, wherein the support member is held on the base body and from a normal position against a restoring force in a deflection position is movable, wherein the support member in the basic position further protrudes from the base body than in the evasive position and wherein the support member and / or the signal transmitter contacted when reaching a maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning surface to be cleaned bottom surface.
- a rigid signal generator is used, which is fixed to a movable support member.
- a signal generator a standard part can be used, such as a permanent magnet or a transponder that can be produced inexpensively in very large quantities.
- the support member is held on the base body and can be moved, starting from a basic position against the action of the restoring force in an evasive position. In the basic position, the support part protrudes further out of the main body than in the evasive position.
- Upon reaching a maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning pad contacted the support member and / or the signal generator to be cleaned bottom surface. This has the consequence that upon further use of the cleaning tool, the support member and / or the signal transmitter are affected by the bottom surface. This ultimately leads to damage of the support member and / or the signal generator, and this in turn has the consequence that the wireless signal provided by the signal generator changes.
- the signal transmitter is damaged or even destroyed after exceeding a maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning surface of the floor or detached from the support member.
- the signal generator provides a predetermined wireless signal until a maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning pad is reached and the signal abruptly changes or stops when the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning pad is exceeded.
- the floor surface is cleaned by contacting the cleaning surface with the floor surface.
- the cleaning surface is pressed against the floor surface when cleaning the floor surface.
- the cleaning tool is held in many cases on the floor cleaning device movable.
- the force with which the cleaning pad is pressed against the floor surface can often be influenced by the user.
- the type of floor surface cleaning surface can be pressed with different force against the floor surface. This has the consequence that the cleaning surface is more or less compressed when cleaning the bottom surface.
- the achievement of the maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning pad without the user for this purpose must visually inspect the cleaning pad.
- This ensures that the support member and / or the signal generator are affected by the bottom surface only when reaching the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning, without already a strong compression of the cleaning pad leads to such a deterioration of the support member and / or the signal generator.
- a rigid signal transmitter there is thus no risk that the bottom surface will be damaged during normal operation of the cleaning tool by the signal generator or the support member.
- the cleaning tool is rotatable about an axis of rotation and the support member is relative to the axis of rotation of the cleaning tool in the radial or axial direction between the basic position and the alternate position movable back and forth.
- the cleaning tool is configured as a plate brush, which is mounted rotatably about a substantially vertically oriented axis of rotation on the floor cleaning device, wherein the support member in the axial direction between the basic position and the escape position is movable back and forth.
- the cleaning tool is designed as a roller brush, which is mounted rotatably about a substantially horizontally oriented axis of rotation on the floor cleaning device, wherein the support member in the radial direction between the basic position and the alternate position is movable back and forth.
- the signal transmitter projects out of the main body in the basic position of the carrying part and is completely surrounded by the carrying part in its protruding area.
- the support member forms a protective jacket which surrounds the signal generator at least in its protruding from the body region.
- the signal transmitter protrudes completely in the basic position of the support member from the main body of the cleaning tool and is completely surrounded by the support member.
- the support member forms a protective sleeve which surrounds the signal generator in the circumferential direction.
- the signal generator can be inserted into the protective sleeve and fixed in the protective sleeve.
- the protective sleeve may be formed, for example in the form of a circular cylinder.
- the support member can be applied to the surface to be cleaned upon reaching a maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning pad.
- the further use of the cleaning tool then has the consequence that the support member slides along the bottom surface and is mechanically influenced by the bottom surface.
- the support member may be ground off the floor surface.
- the increasing mechanical influence of the support member may, after a short time, cause the signal provided by the signal generator fixed to the support member to undergo a change. This signal change can be detected by a signal receiver and thereby the user can be signaled that the cleaning pad has exceeded its maximum permissible degree of wear.
- the support member is destructible upon reaching the maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning pad by using the cleaning tool.
- the destruction of the support member can be done by contact with the ground surface.
- the support member breaks into at least two parts.
- the fixation of the signal transmitter is adversely affected on the support member and this in turn leads to a change in the signal provided by the signal generator after the cleaning pad has reached its maximum allowable degree of wear.
- the signal transmitter can be removed from the base body when the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning surface is reached. For example, it may be provided that the signal transmitter is thrown off the base body moving relative to the bottom surface when the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning coating is reached. As a result, the signal generator no longer provides a user-detectable signal. The absence of the signal thus signals the user that the cleaning pad has reached its maximum allowable degree of wear.
- the signal generator is designed as a transponder.
- the signal generator thus forms a radio communication link, which incoming Receives and answers signals.
- a wireless transmission channel between the cleaning tool and an external reading device of the floor cleaning device can be achieved.
- the transponder has a data memory in the form of a read / write memory and may additionally include a control logic.
- the transponder has an antenna coil.
- the transponder can be supplied with energy and its data memory can be read out.
- the transponder is equipped with its own power source.
- RFID Radio Frequency Identification Technology
- the rigid signal generator is designed as a ferrite core / glass transponder.
- the support member can be moved against the action of a restoring force from a basic position to an evasive position.
- the restoring force is preferably provided by a spring element.
- the support member is held linearly displaceable in a preferred embodiment of the invention on the base body.
- the base body is rotatable about an axis of rotation and the support member is slidably held in the radial direction relative to the axis of rotation of the base body.
- the support member is conveniently held displaceably in a guide member which is fixable on the base body.
- the support member forms a sleeve which protrudes with a front end portion of the base body and is arranged with a rear end portion within the body.
- the signal generator is conveniently arranged in the front end of the sleeve and in the rear End of the sleeve immersed a spring element, which is supported on the body.
- the base body is cylindrical in shape and, relative to the cylinder axis, has a radial bore or a bore aligned parallel or obliquely to the radial direction into which the guide part can be inserted.
- the guide part can be latched to the base body.
- the guide member may for example have latching elements which occupy a latching position when inserting the guide member into the body, so that the guide member the basic body can not be readily removed more.
- the base body is designed as a hollow cylinder and has a preferably radially aligned bore into which the guide member is insertable, wherein at least one locking element of the guide member after insertion of the guide member into the bore to an inner side of the hollow cylindrical body can be applied.
- the support member on a support body which receives the signal transmitter, and a connectable to the main body of the cleaning tool base body which is connected via an elastically deformable spring body with the support body.
- the base body can be used, for example, in a receptacle of the main body of the cleaning tool and the carrier receiving the signal carrier can be moved by providing the elastically deformable spring body relative to the base body between a basic position and an alternate position back and forth. When moving from the basic position in the alternate position of the support body can be acted upon by the elastically deformable spring body with a restoring force.
- the support body, the spring body and the base body together form a one-piece plastic molded part.
- the spring body is favorably designed as elastically deformable spring arm.
- About the spring arm of the support body is connected to the base body.
- the main body of the cleaning tool is conveniently cylindrical in shape and has on a front side a recess into which the support member is preferably used in the axial direction.
- the recess of the base body is positively connected to the base body of the support member. This facilitates the mounting of the support member on the body.
- the cleaning tool can be designed as a cleaning brush rotatable about a rotation axis. It is advantageous if in the direction of rotation of the cleaning brush in front of the signal generator cleaning bristles are arranged, which cover the signal generator during use of the cleaning tool until it reaches a maximum allowable degree of wear of the cleaning bristles at least partially.
- the cleaning bristles protrude from a body of the cleaning brush to the outside.
- the cleaning bristles can protrude in the radial direction from the main body of the cleaning brush relative to the axis of rotation of the cleaning brush. By contact with the floor surface to be cleaned, the cleaning bristles are bent back against the direction of rotation of the cleaning tool.
- cleaning bristles In the direction of rotation of the cleaning brush in front of the signal generator arranged cleaning bristles cover this as long as the signal generator at least partially until the cleaning bristles have reached their maximum allowable degree of wear. After reaching the maximum permissible degree of wear The cleaning bristles can no longer cover the signal generator so that it contacts the floor surface and is thus affected by the floor surface. This can lead to a change, and in particular to a cancellation of the signal provided by the signal generator, and this signal change can be detected by the user.
- the cleaning tool is designed as a rotary brush rotatable about a rotation axis and has a cylindrical base body which carries a cleaning pad in the form of a bristle covering with a plurality of outwardly projecting cleaning bristles, between which the fixed to the support member signal generator is arranged.
- FIGS. 1 to 7 schematically a first advantageous embodiment of a cleaning tool according to the invention is shown, which is generally occupied by the reference numeral 10.
- the cleaning tool 10 is designed as a roller brush 12 and has a hollow cylindrical base body 14 which can be rotatably mounted about a rotation axis 16 on a known floor cleaning device.
- the main body 14 carries on the outside a cleaning pad, which is designed in the form of a bristle covering 18 and has a plurality of cleaning bristles 20 which protrude from the main body 14 to the outside.
- the cleaning bristles 20 wear off when using the roller brush 12 over time and shortened in this case.
- the achievement of a maximum allowable degree of wear can be signaled to the user by a rigid signal generator 22 wirelessly.
- the signal generator 22 is designed in the form of a rigid transponder, in particular in the form of a ferrite core / glass transponder.
- the signal generator 22 is fixed in a supporting part, which is designed in the form of a sliding sleeve 24 which is displaceable in the radial direction in relation to the axis of rotation 16 of the roller brush 12 in a guide part in the form of a guide sleeve 26.
- the guide sleeve 26 has two latching wings 28, 30 and can be inserted into a radial bore 32 of the hollow cylindrical base body 14.
- the latching wings 28, 30 supported on the inner side 34 of the base body 14 and a radially outwardly facing support flange 36 of the guide sleeve 26 is supported on the outer side 38 of the base body 14 from.
- the guide sleeve 26 receives the sliding sleeve 24, wherein the sliding sleeve 24 is supported with a radial extension 40 in the axial direction at a step 42 of the guide sleeve 26.
- a spring element in the form of a compression spring 44 is immersed, which is supported on the one hand on the base body 14 and on the other hand on the positioned in the sliding sleeve 24 signal generator 22.
- the sliding sleeve 24 and the signal generator 22 are radially pushed out of the main body 14 until the radial extension 40 of the sliding sleeve 24 comes to rest on the step 42 of the guide sleeve 24.
- the sliding sleeve 24 assumes a basic position in this position, from which it can be moved against the elastic restoring force of the compression spring 44 in an evasive position.
- the basic position as for example in FIG. 5 is shown, the sliding sleeve 24 protrudes from the main body 14 further than in the evasive position, the in FIG. 6 is shown.
- the radial bore 32 is arranged in the region between the cleaning bristles 20 of the roller brush 12, so that the sliding sleeve 24 and the signal generator 22 occupy a position between the cleaning bristles 20. This is especially true FIG. 1 clear.
- directly adjacent cleaning bristles 46, 48 are arranged on the outside of the main body 14 of the sliding sleeve 24 and the signal generator 22.
- the signal generator 22 provides a wireless signal that can be detected by a known per se reader 50.
- the reading device 50 like the roller brush 12, is arranged on the floor cleaning device and is usually connected to a display device of the floor cleaning device.
- a bottom surface 52 can be cleaned in the usual way. This is in the FIGS. 5, 6 and 7 shown schematically. When cleaning the bottom surface 52, the cleaning bristles 20 of the cleaning brush 12 increasingly use, whereby they shorten.
- the roller brush 12 of the bottom surface 52 can be more or less approximated.
- the roller brush 12 exerts a relatively small force on the bottom surface 52 to be cleaned
- the roller brush 12 in a in FIG. 6 shown second position of the bottom surface 52 is further approximated and consequently exerts on the bottom surface 52 a greater force.
- the cleaning bristles 20 When cleaning the bottom surface 52, the cleaning bristles 20 are bent against the direction of rotation of the roller brush 12 to the rear.
- the sliding sleeve 24 immediately adjacent cleaning bristles 46 or 48 cover the sliding sleeve 24 at least partially, so that the sliding sleeve 24, the bottom surface 52 can not contact directly, as long as the cleaning bristles 24 have not yet reached their maximum allowable degree of wear.
- the signal generator 22 is pushed out of the compression sleeve 44 from the sliding sleeve 24, wherein this movement is supported by the centrifugal force caused by the rotating roller brush 12. This has the consequence that after reaching the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning bristles 20 of the signal generator 22 is thrown off the roller brush 12. This in turn has the consequence that the reader 50 no signal can be received. The absence of the signal can be displayed to the user on the display device of the floor cleaning device, so that the user receives the information that the cleaning bristles 20 have reached their maximum allowable degree of wear.
- the user can thus easily be signaled the achievement of the maximum permissible degree of wear of the cleaning bristles 20, wherein the signal generator 22 together with the sliding sleeve 24 before reaching the maximum degree of wear of the cleaning bristles 20 between a basic position and a dodge position can be moved back and forth.
- the basic position is occupied by the sliding sleeve 24 and the signal generator 22, provided that the roller brush 12 exerts only a relatively small force on the floor surface 52 to be cleaned.
- FIGS. 8 to 14 a second advantageous embodiment of a cleaning tool according to the invention is shown, which is generally occupied by the reference numeral 60.
- the cleaning tool 60 is in the form of a roller brush 62, which has a hollow cylindrical base body 64 which can be rotatably mounted about a rotation axis 66 on a floor cleaning device.
- the main body 64 carries on the outside a bristle lining 68 with a plurality of cleaning bristles 70.
- the roller brush 62 also has a rigid signal transmitter 72, which in the illustrated embodiment is designed as a ferrite core / glass transponder.
- the signal generator 72 is known per se and therefore in FIG. 8 only schematically illustrated reader 74, which can be positioned on an end face of the roller brush 62, wirelessly provide a signal that depends on the degree of wear of the cleaning bristles 70th
- the roller brush 62 has a support member 76 with a hollow cylindrical support body 78 which receives the rigid signal transmitter 72 and which is connected via an elastically deformable spring body 80 with a base body 82.
- the support body 78 forms in combination with the spring body 80 and the base body 82 of a one-piece plastic molded part.
- the main body 64 of the roller brush 62 has an opening 84 which opens into an end face 86. Adjoining the opening 84 in the circumferential direction is a recess 88, which is delimited on the outside 90 of the base body 64 by an outer wall 92 and on the inner side 94 of the base body 64 by an inner wall 96.
- An opening 84 facing away from the end region of the recess 88 receives the base body 82 of the support member 76 in a form-fitting manner.
- the support body 78 which surrounds the signal generator 72 in the circumferential direction, occupies a position outside the opening 84, wherein it is connected via the spring body 80 to the base body 82.
- the spring body 80 forms an L-shaped spring arm 100 with a first spring leg 102, which adjoins the base body 82 and is oriented relative to the axis of rotation 66 of the base body 64 in the circumferential direction.
- a radially outwardly directed second spring leg 104 connects in the region of the opening 84, which carries the cylindrical support body 78 at its free end.
- roller brush 12 and the roller brush 62 for cleaning a bottom surface 106 of the bottom surface 106 can be approximated more or less.
- the roller brush 62 assumes a first position, as in FIG. 12 is shown, it exerts on the bottom surface to be cleaned 106 a relatively small force. If the roller brush 62 of the bottom surface 106 is further approximated, as in FIG. 13 is shown, so it exerts on the bottom surface 106 of a larger force.
- the cleaning bristles 70 When cleaning the bottom surface 106, the cleaning bristles 70 are bent back against the direction of rotation of the roller brush 62.
- the support member 76 and the signal generator 72 immediately adjacent cleaning bristles 108 cover the support member 76 and thus also the signal generator 72 until the cleaning bristles 108 have reached their maximum allowable degree of wear.
- the cleaning bristles 108 immediately adjacent the support part 76 move the support part starting from its in FIG. 12 illustrated basic position in an evasive position, as in FIG. 13 is shown. In the escape position, the support member 76 and the signal generator 72 project less from the main body 64 than in the normal position.
- the cleaning bristles 108 immediately adjacent to the support part 76 have reached their maximum permissible degree of wear, they are shortened so much that they can no longer cover the support part 76. This has the consequence that the support body 78, the bottom surface 106 contacted and mechanically affected by the bottom surface 106. In this case, the support body 78 is ground off the bottom surface 106 in its peripheral area contacting the bottom surface 106. This has the consequence that the arranged in the support body 78 signal generator 72 detaches from the support body 78 after a short time and is thrown off the roller brush 62 away. The roller brush 62 associated with the reading device 74 is thus provided after reaching the maximum degree of wear of the cleaning bristles 70 no signal. The absence of the signal may be displayed to the user on a display device connected to the reader 76 so that the user receives the information that the cleaning bristles 70 have reached their maximum allowable degree of wear.
