Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to an oven comprising a door whereon an indicator and a control unit are mounted.
- In ovens wherein the control unit and the indicator are disposed on the door, electric current and data are transferred to these elements by cables. The said cables situated inside the oven have to be protected from factors such as oven heat, humidity, etc. so as not to be deformed. The cables are connected to the control unit and the indicator by being passed through the hinge area, connecting the door to the oven body; however, the cables are subjected to deformation by being squeezed and loosening inside the door while the door is opened/closed.
- In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US4255640, a cable is disclosed, that passes though the hinge area between the door and the oven.
- In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US8168928, a cable is disclosed, that passes through the hollow cylindrical volume located in the hinge area.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven wherein the electrical connections of the control unit and/or the indicator disposed on the door are improved.
- The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a cable channel that is disposed on the surface of the side profile of the frame remaining between the outer glass plate and the inner glass plate, that can be accessed by detaching the inner glass plate and wherein the electric/data transmission cable is placed. The cables that supply energy extend to the inner side of the door by passing through the hinge area and are connected to the indicator and the control unit by passing through the cable channel located adjacent to door frame and between the inner and outer glass plates of the door.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises at least two extensions that extend in a manner opposite to each another along the side profile and that form the walls of the cable channel and a protector that is disposed between the extensions and that covers the cable channel. Thus, the cables are protected against the high temperatures and humidity inside the oven.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises at least two extensions that form the walls of the cable channel and at least two guides disposed on the extensions. The protector can be easily mounted to/dismounted from between the extensions with a sliding motion by being inserted into the guides.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a cable retainer, that is disposed in the region the cable passes from the upper profile to the control unit and the indicator, that is attached on the protector and that has a groove through which the cable passes. The other end of the cable retainer remains on the frame so as to be aligned with the protector. Thus, the cable is held by the side of the groove during opening/closing of the door and the relative movement of the cable with respect to the door is prevented.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a cable path that is arranged on the lower profile and that enables the cables coming from the oven body to pass to the cable channel on the side profile. The cable path remains between the outer glass plate and the inner glass plate. The cables coming from the body of the oven are connected to the indicator and the control unit on the door by being passed through the cable path and the cable channel.
- By means of the present invention, an oven is realized, that comprises a cable channel that is disposed on the frame and that can be easily accessed. Furthermore, the cable is protected against the humidity and heat inside the oven by means of the protector covering the cable channel. In case of malfunctioning, the cable can be accessed easily when the service personnel dislodges the protector on the cable channel.
- The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1. is the perspective view of an oven.
Figure 2. is the exploded view of the door in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3. is the perspective view of a cable situated in the cable channel and the door in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4. is the perspective view of a cable retainer.
Figure 5. is the perspective view of the door and the outer glass plate when the protector, the cable retainer and the cable are mounted in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 6. is the view of detail D in Figure 5.
Figure 7. is the perspective view of the door in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 8. is the detailed view of the side profile comprising the extension, the guide and the cable channel in an embodiment of the present invention.

- The oven (1) comprises a body (2), a cooking chamber (3) disposed inside the body (2) and a door (4) that provides access into the cooking chamber (3). The door (4) comprises a control unit (5), an indicator (6), a frame (7), an outer glass plate (8) placed on the outer surface of the frame (7), an inner glass plate (9) placed on the inner surface of the frame (7) and an upper profile (10), two side profiles (11) and a lower profile (12) that form the frame (7) (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3).
- The oven (1) of the present invention comprises at least one cable (19) that provides electric current/data (signal) transmission to the control unit (5) and/or the indicator (6) and a cable channel (13) that is disposed on the surface of the side profile (11) of the frame (7) remaining between the outer glass plate (8) and the inner glass plate (9), that can be accessed by detaching the inner glass plate (9) and wherein the cable (19) is placed. Thus, the cables (19) coming from the body (2) and connected to the control unit (5) and the indicator (6) on the door (4) pass through the cable channel (13) adjacent to the frame (7), do not hang down between the inner glass plate (9) and the outer glass plate (8) and cannot be seen by the user (Figure 3, Figure 5, Figure 7).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises at least two extensions (14) that extend in a manner opposite to each another along the side profile (11) and that form the walls of the cable channel (13), and a protector (15) that is disposed between the extensions (14) and that covers the cable channel (13). Thus, the cable (19) is prevented from being affected from the heat and humidity inside the oven (1). Furthermore, in the case of malfunctioning, the cable (19) can be reached by dislodging the protector (15) easily (Figure 3, Figure 5, Figure 8 and Figure 9).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises at least two guides (16) disposed on the extensions (14). Thus, the protector (15) can be easily mounted to/dismounted from between the extensions (14) with a sliding motion by being inserted into the guides (16). The protector (15) is prevented from being dislodged during the use of the door (4) (Figure 3, Figure 5, Figure 8).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises a cable retainer (17) that is disposed in the region the cable (19) passes from the upper profile (10) to the control unit (5) and the indicator (6) that is attached onto the protector (15) and that has a groove (20) through which the cable (19) passes. The side of the groove (20) of the cable retainer (17) holding the cable (19) is semi-circular. The other end of the cable retainer (17) is situated on the frame (7) so as to be aligned with the protector (15). Thus, the cable (19) is held by the side of the groove (20) during opening/closing of the door (4) and the relative movement of the cable (19) with respect to the door (4) is prevented. The cable (19) does not loosen or hang down during the movement of the door (4) (Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 6).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises a cable path (18) that is situated on the lower profile (12), that enables the cable (19), coming from the body (2) and passing from the area of the hinge (M) that enables the door (4) to be connected to the body (2), to pass to the cable channel (13) on the side profile (11). The cable path (18) remains between the outer glass plate (8) and the inner glass plate (9). The cable (19) coming from the body (2) and extended to the interior of the door (4) by being passed from the hinge (M) area, passes through the cable path (18). Consequently, it is not required to bore an additional hole on the inner glass plate (9) for passing the cable (19) from the body (2) to the door (4) (Figure 2, Figure 5).
- By means of the present invention, an oven (1) is realized that comprises a cable channel (13) that is disposed on the frame (7) of the door (4) and that can be easily accessed. The cables (19) that reach the units like the control unit (5) or the indicator (6) disposed on the door (4) pass through the cable channel (13) that is adjacent to the frame (7). Furthermore, the cable (19) is protected from heat and humidity by means of the protector (15) that covers the cable channel (13) and is prevented from being seen from the outside by being concealed inside the door (4). In case of malfunctioning, the cable (19) can be accessed easily by detaching the protector (15).
