Description

AN OVEN COMPRISING A MOVABLE SUPPORT
  • The present invention relates to an oven comprising a movable support.
  • In the state of the art ovens, supports are used whereon trays are placed and which can be moved upwards/downwards by means of a movement mechanism. In these embodiments, the height of the tray, which is disposed into the oven, inside the oven can be adjusted before and/or during cooking and thus the cooking effectiveness is increased.
  • In the state of the art German Patent Application No. DE102004042827 and United States Patent No. US5429043, cooking devices comprising movable supports are explained.
  • In the European Patent Document No. EP0792087, a cooking device comprising a movable support and a method relating to the control of said movable support is described.
  • In the state of the art embodiments, the movement mechanism which provides the movement of the support cannot be insulated from the factors such as temperature, dirt and oil occurring in the cooking cavity during cooking.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven wherein the movement mechanism is protected from the factors such as temperature, dirt and oil occurring in the cooking cavity during cooking.
  • The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a movable support. The positions of the trays placed on the support and hence of the foodstuffs to be cooked can be changed in the vertical plane by means of the movable support. The support is moved by means of a movement mechanism positioned between the casing and the outer wall. The movement mechanism comprises an arm that provides the movement mechanism to be fastened to the support and the arm extends into the cooking cavity and is fastened to the support by passing through a slit situated on the casing. The slit extends all along from the uppermost point the support can be raised until the lowermost point the support can be lowered.
  • The oven of the present invention furthermore comprises a separator which is placed between the casing and the movement mechanism at the level of the slit and which closes the slit. The separator is connected to the movement mechanism and moves together with the support. Thus, the movement mechanism can be protected from the factors such as high temperature, dirt and oil in the cooking cavity in all positions of the support.
  • In the preferred embodiment, an opening is arranged on the separator. This opening is sized so as to almost surround the arm and the arm extends into the cooking cavity by passing through the opening. Thus, when the movement mechanism is at one side of the separator, the arm extends towards the other side of the separator. The support is mounted to the end of the arm that extends into the cooking cavity.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the separator is almost three times longer than the slit for enabling the separator to entirely close the front of the slit both when the support is at the uppermost point and when at the lowermost point.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the separator is shaped as a strip produced from sheet material. Thus, a separator is realized that is low in cost and easy to produce.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the separator moves inside a guide that is situated between the movement mechanism and the side wall or on the surface of the side wall facing the movement mechanism. Thus, the separator is provided to move in a controlled manner.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, guides are disposed on the base and the ceiling of the casing. The ends of the separator are inserted into the guides on the base and the ceiling by bending from the side walls. Thus, the ends of the separator are prevented from bending as a result of its movement when the separator is higher than the side wall.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, a step is situated on the end of the arm that passes through the opening. In other words, the portion of the arm that remains inside the cooking cavity is wider and the portion that passes through the opening and extends to the movement mechanism is narrower. Thus, the front of the opening is closed by means of the arm and leaks from the opening are prevented.
  • In different embodiments of the present invention, one movable support is situated on the casing rear wall or one movable support is oppositely situated, on each of the side walls.
  • In the embodiment wherein one movable support is oppositely situated, on each of the two side walls, a separator is situated in front of each slit wherein each movable support moves. In this embodiment, the two separators on the two opposite side walls move one above the other inside the same guides on the base and the ceiling. In the preferred version of this embodiment, the ends of the separators are formed suitable for facilitating the leaping of the separators one over the other in the guide.
  • By means of the present invention, the movement mechanism is provided to be protected effectively in the ovens wherein movable supports are used and an oven having a longer life span is provided to be realized.
  • The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
  • Figure 1 – is the perspective view of an oven.
  • Figure 2 – is the partial perspective view of an oven.
  • Figure 3 - is the perspective view of the side wall, the movement mechanism and the separator.
  • Figure 4 - is the perspective view of the side wall, the movement mechanism, the two separators and the guides.
  • Figure 5 - is the detailed view of the movement mechanism and the separator.
