Eine vorteilhafte Ausgestaltung sieht vor, dass das Anschlusselement ein im wesentlichen im rechten Winkel von dem U-förmigen Bügel abgebogenes Anschlussblech ist, an dessen unteren, dem U-förmigen Bügel abgewandten Seiten die Kontaktelemente angeordnet sind. Dies ermöglicht eine einfache Montage und eine besonders gute Kontaktierung.
Vorteilhafterweise ist vorgesehen, dass für den U-förmigen Bügel mit den Schneidklemmkontakten und das Anschlusselement in dem Gehäuse Führungen vorgesehen sind, welche ein Einschieben des U-förmigen Bügels zusammen mit den Schneid-Klemm-Kontakten und mit dem Anschlusselement in das Gehäuse ermöglichen. Wenn in diesem Falle die Kontaktelemente bereits beispielsweise auf einer Leiterplatte befestigt sind, wird umgekehrt das Gehäuse relativ zum U-förmigen Bügel verschoben, wobei wiederum die Schneid-Klemm-Kontakte in den Leiter eindringen und dabei das Isolationsmaterial des Leiters von den Schneiden oder Flanken der Schneidklemmen eingeschnitten und verdrängt wird und die freigelegten Kupferlitzen durch die Federwirkung dieser Flanken dauerhaft eingeklemmt werden.

Diese Einpresskontakte dienen der Einpressung in entsprechende Öffnungen auf einer beispielsweise Leiterplatte (siehe Fig. 5a bis c, Fig. 6). Wie Fig. 1 ferner zu entnehmen ist, sind in dem Gehäuse 110 Führungen 150 und 160 für den U-förmigen Bügel 200 und die Schneid-Klemm-Kontakte 210, 220 vorgesehen, die ein seitliches Einschieben der Schneid-Klemm-Kontakte in das Gehäuse entlang einer Richtung ermöglichen, die in den Figuren mit einem Pfeil R dargestellt ist. Wie insbesondere der Fig. 2 zu entnehmen ist, weisen die Schneid-Klemm-Kontakte 220 eine gabelförmige Gestalt mit Schneidflanken 221 auf, die das Isolationsmaterial 405 eines Leiters 400 einschneiden und verdrängen und die freigelegten Kupferlitzen 410 ebenfalls teilweise einschneiden oder zumindest aufgrund der Federwirkung der beiden Schneiden der Schneidklemme 220 klemmen. Dies ist schematisch in Fig. 3 dargestellt, welche den kontaktierten und befestigten Zustand eines elektrischen Leiters in dem Terminal 100 zeigt. Fig. 6 zeigt die Verbindung zweier Leiterplatten 600 und 700, auf denen jeweils Terminals angeordnet sind, wobei das auf der Leiterplatte 600 angeordnete Terminal ein Terminal mit Einpresskontakten ist, während das auf der Leiterplatte 700 angeordnete Terminal ein Terminal mit SMD-Lötkontakten darstellt.
