Definitions
- the front is what the user sees when he reaches the platform, so on the side of the support legs, while the “back” is what is on his back, on the side of the climb plan.
- the railing is U-shaped whose branches are articulated on the uprights, while the connecting rods, which connect the railing to the platform, are mounted with the possibility of sliding on the branches of this railing.
- each support leg comprises a spreader arm, arranged under the articulated platform and one end of which is articulated on a pivot of this platform, while the other end is articulated on a collar slidably mounted on the corresponding leg and on which is also articulated the pulling.
- the two arms and pulling elements constitute two of the sides of a triangle whose deformation of the third side, formed between the pivot and the articulation of the tie rod on the upright, modifies the position of the sliding member on the leg and the angulation of the leg compared to the amount.
- each of the amounts of the climbing plane is composed of an upper part and a lower part, connected to each other by a multiposition joint, lockable in each position, while each of the legs of support is telescopic and composed of an articulated upper part on the upright and a lower part, slidably mounted around the upper one.
- the end of its lower portion carries a fitting on which are articulated, on the one hand, the end of the corresponding tie rod and, on the other hand, the end of the corresponding spacer arm , so that the legs extend automatically when the platform is brought into use position.
- the U-shaped railing is articulated at the top of the uprights of the plane of rise and constitutes, by its parallel branches, slides for sliding collars articulated permanently to the upper end of control rods of his movements.
- Stepladders are encountered in the market in which the railing, forming a U in a plane parallel to the platform and arranged at mid-height, projects forward and is connected to this platform by lateral rods.
- the safety of the user is completed by an upper bar, connecting the top of the amounts of the climb plane, and vertical arms which, protruding at the rear of the uprights, are connected by detachable chains and are hinged to these amounts , to be folded against this plane in storage position.
- Each gate is pivotally mounted on a vertical bar articulated on the branch of the railing and on a sub-smooth articulated on a post.
- the branch of the railing, the vertical bar and the sub-smooth form with a corresponding amount of section, a deformable parallelogram, connected by a rod to the platform.
- any reflex movement bringing it in support against these gates generates a moment or tilting torque.
- the decomposition of this tilting torque on the uprights generates a downward vertical force, the value of which is greater the greater the length of the sub-smooth.
- the structure of the railing has a multiplier effect on the transmission to the amounts of the exceptional forces requiring the user.
- the invention aims to provide a climbing equipment with platform and railing foldable, which overcomes these disadvantages and improves the safety of the user without weighing down the equipment.
- This equipment uses the characteristics of the applicant's equipment, described above, but arranging and combining them differently.
- each control rod of the railing is independent of the platform and its lower end is articulated against the inner face of the corresponding upright, each of the connecting rods (16) carrying the hinge bearings (31, 32) of a gate (33) extending transversely towards the gate of the other rod.
- the platform is independent of the railing and is insensitive to the efforts received by the latter and, in particular, the exceptional efforts resulting from excessive support of the user on the crossbar or the doors associated with the guard -body.
- each of the branches of the railing is provided, near its end, with a means, manually unlockable, ensuring the automatic locking of the sliding collar articulated to the connecting rod, when the collar reaches its position of job.
- the amounts of the plane of rise are formed by tubular sections of rectangular section having, projecting from one of their large faces, a longitudinal fin which, extending a small face and facing outwards, is adapted to receive the support of the fin of an identical profile constituting the amount of a booster plane, this profile being pressed against that of the plan of climb by outer rollers protruding radially and rolling against the section of the plane of rise.
- Such fins allow to carry over the perforations necessary for the establishment of sliding means and locking means of the booster and, therefore, they preserve the integrity of the profile and its mechanical strength.
- the figures 1 and 3 show that the articulation 12 of the tie rods on the amounts is disposed above the bar 3x forming the articulation of the platform 4.
- All the elements are tubular and made of aluminum alloy, with the exception of a cross 38 and a cross member 39 which are made in textile ribbons.
- each of the spreader arms 22 passes through an opening formed in a fitting 25 attached under the platform 4 and near each of its front angles.
- the edges of each opening cooperate with the corresponding arm 22 to guide it transversely with respect to the platform, so that its movements take place in a plane parallel to that of the platform, regardless of the position of this platform relative to the plane. climb that carries it.
- the automatic spacing means comprise an arm 22 and a tie rod 10 which are articulated on the same sliding element 8, and form two of the sides of a deformable triangle, the third of which side is virtual and extends between the pivot 23 and the articulation 12 of the pulling on the amount 2.
- each of the connecting rods 16 is articulated by its upper end and at 18 to the collar 19, sliding freely on one of the branches 14 of the railing, and, by its lower end, on a transverse axis 30 protruding from the inner face of the upright 2 disposed on the same side as the branch 14.
- Each connecting rod is independent of the platform 4 and carries two bearings 31 and 32, spaced apart and serving for the articulation of the two arms 33a and 33b of a door 33 in U shape.
- each gate 33 is equal to half the interval between the rods 16 and is less than the length of the arms 14 of the railing so that it can be folded below them without difficulty.
- Connecting rods 16 are substantially vertical and form an angle a with respect to the uprights 2, and are therefore inclined with respect to these amounts, which separates the pivot axis of the gates 33 of the uprights 2 and helps give them an opening angle of at least a quarter of a turn, without being disturbed by the structure of the guardrail.
- At least one of the bearings for example the upper one 31, is provided with means permitting the pivoting of the wicket bound to it only over a fraction of a turn, for example between 80 and 100 degrees, between a closed position, in which the gate 33 is in the extension of its neighbor, and an erasure position, in which it is turned forward and above the platform 4.
- At least this bearing 31 is provided with spring return means, not shown, able to bring it back to its closed position, after its pivoting by the user ascending the platform.
- each of the branches 14 of the railing 13 is provided, near its free end, with a means, manually unlockable, ensuring the automatic locking of the sliding collar 19 articulated to the rod 16, when the collar reaches its end. working position.
- each of the telescopic support legs 6 is composed of an upper part 6a and a lower part 6b.
- the lower part 6b envelops the upper part 6a on which it slides, while the upper part 6a carries the sliding collar 8 on which are articulated the tie rod 10 and the spreader arm 22.
- each leg 6 is provided with a longitudinal lumen 42 in which open 43 notches, positioning and support, adapted to cooperate with at least one finger 44 protruding radially from the inner portion 6a.
- the two leg portions 6a-6b of each telescopic leg 6 are connected by resilient means which tend to bring them back into the retracted position, as soon as the finger 44 has come out of the locking catch 43 which previously held it. This unlocking operation requires manual action on the leg 6b.
- the upper elements of the two legs 6 are connected by the cross 38 with its cross member 39.
- the ends of the strands of the cross and the cross member 39 are riveted at 40 on these elements, to limit the spacing.
- the uprights 2 of the rise plane M consist of rectangular section profiles with two large faces 2a and two small faces 2b, these profiles comprising a longitudinal fin 50, disposed projecting from one of their large faces 2a and substantially in the extension of a small face 2b.

Grâce à cette liberté de mouvement du garde-corps, celui-ci peut basculer temporairement vers le haut pour permettre à l'usager de venir sur la plateforme, en se glissant sous sa barre transversale du garde-corpsWith this freedom of movement of the railing, it can temporarily tilt upward to allow the user to come on the platform, slipping under the crossbar of the railing
Le document
Enfin, le document
Ce document décrit un équipement d'ascension selon le préambule de la revendication 1.This document describes a climbing equipment according to the preamble of claim 1.
In this application, each of the amounts of the climbing plane is composed of an upper part and a lower part, connected to each other by a multiposition joint, lockable in each position, while each of the legs of support is telescopic and composed of an articulated upper part on the upright and a lower part, slidably mounted around the upper one. In each support leg of this embodiment, the end of its lower portion carries a fitting on which are articulated, on the one hand, the end of the corresponding tie rod and, on the other hand, the end of the corresponding spacer arm , so that the legs extend automatically when the platform is brought into use position.
In addition, in this embodiment of the applicant, the U-shaped railing is articulated at the top of the uprights of the plane of rise and constitutes, by its parallel branches, slides for sliding collars articulated permanently to the upper end of control rods of his movements.
These climbing devices are the subject of user safety studies working at the top. These studies lead legislators and builders to change the rules and standards governing their construction and use. This is so for the structure of the railing which, not only must be able to occupy a storage position against the folded elements, but must also, when in the working position, ensure a restraint sufficient of the user. This is to retain the user when it is subjected to a reflex movement returning it against a cross bar of the railing with a force likely to unbalance it by causing it to deteriorate this bar and see even to rock out of the platform.
To counteract these exceptional efforts, it is necessary either to increase the thickness of the tubular elements, generally made of aluminum alloy, which increases the mass of the structure, or to organize these components so that the abnormally high forces have no effect on their strength. General.
Stepladders are encountered in the market in which the railing, forming a U in a plane parallel to the platform and arranged at mid-height, projects forward and is connected to this platform by lateral rods. The safety of the user is completed by an upper bar, connecting the top of the amounts of the climb plane, and vertical arms which, protruding at the rear of the uprights, are connected by detachable chains and are hinged to these amounts , to be folded against this plane in storage position.
The restraint of the user against a reflex movement away from the rearward climb plan is ensured only by the chains and the good grip of the vertical arms.
In another stool on the market, the guardrail and U-shaped with an upper crossbar articulated on the top of the uprights of the plane of rise and with branches, protruding rearward, and each carrying a transverse gate. Each gate is pivotally mounted on a vertical bar articulated on the branch of the railing and on a sub-smooth articulated on a post. Thus, the branch of the railing, the vertical bar and the sub-smooth form with a corresponding amount of section, a deformable parallelogram, connected by a rod to the platform.
When the user works on the platform with the two gates in the retaining position, that is to say arranged in the extension of one another, any reflex movement bringing it in support against these gates, generates a moment or tilting torque. The decomposition of this tilting torque on the uprights generates a downward vertical force, the value of which is greater the greater the length of the sub-smooth. In other words, the structure of the railing has a multiplier effect on the transmission to the amounts of the exceptional forces requiring the user.
Furthermore, when the railing is connected to the platform by connecting rods transmitting the tilting movements of the platform to the guardrail, a violent support, on the upper part of the railing in position of work, causes a straightening movement of the platform that can accentuate the imbalance of the user and can lead to its fall.
The invention aims to provide a climbing equipment with platform and railing foldable, which overcomes these disadvantages and improves the safety of the user without weighing down the equipment. This equipment uses the characteristics of the applicant's equipment, described above, but arranging and combining them differently.
According to the invention, each control rod of the railing is independent of the platform and its lower end is articulated against the inner face of the corresponding upright, each of the connecting rods (16) carrying the hinge bearings (31, 32) of a gate (33) extending transversely towards the gate of the other rod.
With this arrangement, the platform is independent of the railing and is insensitive to the efforts received by the latter and, in particular, the exceptional efforts resulting from excessive support of the user on the crossbar or the doors associated with the guard -body.
In addition, when the force is communicated to the gates, it is transmitted by connecting rods directly to the uprights, therefore without increasing its value, as is the case in stepladders with gates articulated on the connecting rods of a parallelogram . As a result, the profiles of the uprights do not need to be thickened to withstand the effort.
In one embodiment, each of the branches of the railing is provided, near its end, with a means, manually unlockable, ensuring the automatic locking of the sliding collar articulated to the connecting rod, when the collar reaches its position of job.
Thus when the railing is brought to its working position, its branches automatically lock with the connecting rods and form a rigid structure improving the safety of the user.
Advantageously, the amounts of the plane of rise are formed by tubular sections of rectangular section having, projecting from one of their large faces, a longitudinal fin which, extending a small face and facing outwards, is adapted to receive the support of the fin of an identical profile constituting the amount of a booster plane, this profile being pressed against that of the plan of climb by outer rollers protruding radially and rolling against the section of the plane of rise.
Such fins allow to carry over the perforations necessary for the establishment of sliding means and locking means of the booster and, therefore, they preserve the integrity of the profile and its mechanical strength.

All the elements are tubular and made of aluminum alloy, with the exception of a
It emerges from this description that, for each
According to the invention, each of the connecting
The width of each
At least one of the bearings, for example the
With this configuration, if following a burn or an electric shock, a reflex movement causes the user to lean very strongly against the two
In one embodiment, each of the

branch 14, a lockingfinger 36, with elastic return, able to enter theopening 35 to wedge thecollar 19 on thebranch 14 in the maximum deployment position of the guardrail.
The upper elements of the two
When assembling the components of the stepladder, the
The contact between the two rise planes M and the booster R is controlled by
The
It is apparent from the foregoing that the use of finned
figure 11 , ce qui amène les bras écarteurs 22 à repousser les jambes 6 vers l'avant et le coté, comme montré par les flèches 70 ; - Si besoin est, réglage en hauteur et en horizontalité de la plateforme 4, en installant un rehausseur R et/ou en déployant les parties télescopiques 6b des jambes 6 ;
- Straightening the stepladder, as shown
figure 10 , - Manual lowering of platform 4, as shown
figure 11 , which causes thespreader arms 22 to push thelegs 6 forward and side, as shown by thearrows 70; - If necessary, adjusting the height and horizontality of the platform 4, by installing a booster R and / or by deploying the
telescopic 6;parts 6b legs - When the platform 4 is substantially horizontal, as in the position shown in FIG.
figure 12 spreading theguard rail 13 upwards, by manually pivoting upwards, according to arrow 71, itsbranches 14 around thearticulations 15 on theuprights 2, until the slidingcollars 19 move on these branches, according toarrow 72 offigure 14 , come in the position offigure 4 and lock by engaging thespring fingers 36 in theopenings 36. - At the end of the deployment, the stool is in the position of
figures 1 and15 , position in which the platform 4 is substantially horizontal and independent of therailing 13, whosegates 33 are in alignment with each other and therods 16 in direct support on theuprights 2, by theirjoints 30 .
It follows from the foregoing that the separation of the movement of the guardrail relative to that of the platform, simplifies access to the platform 4 and allows better recovery of the exceptional forces exerted on the railing, reducing machining and various holes weakening the amounts, and, that, without having to increase the thicknesses of the profiles of these amounts.
This arrangement therefore improves the comfort and safety of the user.
Obviously, the folding is done by proceeding in a manner opposite to that just described.
