A wood splitter in accordance with any of the preceding claims, whereby the switch, which is actuatable by the flap (14), is designed as a micro switch housed in a box (17) attached to the rack (1), and that the actuating means (16), which is attached to the flap (14), exhibits a tongue (19) tangentially protruding relative to the tilting axis of the flap (14) which is insertable into the box (17) via a slot associated with the micro switch and is engageable with the micro switch.
