Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système de transfert (2) permettant de transférer horizontalement et verticalement un conteneur de transport entre un wagon ferroviaire (52) de transport de marchandises et un véhicule (66). Le système de transfert est placé sur le véhicule et comprend au moins deux bras de préhension (4) qui sont mobiles uniquement dans une direction transversale à l'extension longitudinale dudit véhicule. Le mouvement des bras de préhension est accompli à l'aide d'une chaîne sans fin (6) entraînée par une roue d'entraînement (8) reliée à un moteur d'entraînement. Deux roues de tension (10) sont placées au niveau de chaque côté de ladite roue d'entraînement, lesdites roues de tension coopérant avec la chaîne de sorte que l'une ou l'autre des roues de tension provoque un serrage de la chaîne selon que la chaîne est entraînée dans un sens ou dans l'autre. L'invention concerne également un procédé de transfert d'un conteneur de transport entre un wagon ferroviaire de transport de marchandises et un véhicule.
