Definitions
- the invention relates to a printed product with an optical security feature for preventing falsification of the printed product.
- the invention further relates to a method for producing a printed product with an optical security feature.
- the label may be, for example, a label or tag which is adhered to the product.
- Product imitators will endeavor not only to falsify the product, but also to falsify the marking applied to the original product, so that the copy can hardly be distinguished from the original product, not least because of the attached marking.
- Manufacturers of high-quality products attach great importance to ensuring that the labeling applied to the product is as secure as possible against counterfeiting.
- each product can be labeled with a product-specific label, number sequence, pattern, or code.
- the publication WO 2014/076074 A relates to a method for generating a security feature for a value and / or security product, in which adhesive structures in the form of a string are first applied to a substrate surface and subsequently application elements are laminated onto the adhesive structures.
- a security element is shown, in which a embossed structure is introduced in a carrier material by means of a gravure printing process, wherein on the front and back of the embossing pattern, a sequence of lines is printed between which pressure-layer-free areas are provided.
- a security document is shown in which structures with light-reflecting pigments are printed on a carrier substrate.
- the publication WO 2012/136597 A1 relates to an optically variable security feature in which a latent image is applied by a printing ink raised on a printing ink, wherein the ink pigments are mixed with a color shift effect.
- a laser printing method given below may preferably be an electrophotography method with dry toner or liquid toner.
- the printed product Due to the line structure, the printed product has a latent image as an optically easily perceptible security feature.
- the latent image arises from the fact that, due to the relief-like lines applied to the substrate in the areas between the lines, depending on the light incidence and the viewing angle, a different visual impression is created. This is due to the fact that when the light comes in because of the raised lines between the lines a shadow is created. This shadow is different depending on the viewing angle and light, so that areas of the printed product appear lighter or darker.
- An inventive embodiment of a method for producing printed products that are serializable, that can be made product-specific depending on the products to be labeled, is specified in claim 7.
- each different embodiment of a printed product 10a are shown with an optical security feature, wherein FIG. 4A the embodiment of the invention shows.
- the respective printed product has a printing substrate 100 and a line structure 200 of a plurality of raised and spaced-apart lines 210, which are arranged on the printing material 100.
- the lines 210 of the line structure 200 are applied to the substrate 100 by means of an inkjet printing process or a laser printing process.
- the ink for the line structure 200 contains color pigments with a tilting effect.
- the ink is an optically variable color that contains color pigments with a tilting effect.
- the color pigments can be small multi-layered platelets. When light impinges on such a wafer, the light at the individual layers is partially reflected and partially transmitted. The superimposition of light components, which are reflected at different layers of a small plate, creates interferences, which lead to variable color impressions depending on the viewing angle. Depending on the structure of the individual platelets, the changing color impression varies.
- An admixture of a proportion of at least 30% by weight, preferably of 23% by weight, of optically variable color pigments to the printing ink has proved to be particularly suitable.
- the lines 210 of the line structure 200 on a uniform height are flush.
- the lines 210 may have a height between 10 microns and 20 microns.
- the lines 210 may have a line width of at least 130 ⁇ m.
- the ratio of line spacing to line width should preferably not fall below a value of at least 1.5. This should be at least 195 microns with a minimum aspired line width of 130 microns, the distance between adjacent lines.
- a respective space between adjacent lines is free of ink.
- the printing material 100 for printing on the line structure has the smoothest possible surface. Furthermore, the printing material 100 is characterized in that it absorbs as little as possible of the printing ink, so that at best the entire volume of the applied printing ink for the raised line structure is available on the surface of the printing material. A high absorbency substrate would absorb a significant portion of the printed ink, which would result in less colorant for the formation of the raised latent image line structures.
- the printing material may be, for example, a plastic film containing polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. It is also possible to use papers, in particular papers with a coated surface, as the printing substrate.
- the individual lines 210 of the line structure 200 can be imprinted directly on the print substrate / substrate 100.
- a background print 300 can be applied fully or partially to the printing substrate.
- the lines are arranged directly on the background print 300.
- the background printing 300 can be printed onto the substrate 100 by means of a screen or flexo printing process. In principle, it is also possible to print the background printing 300 onto the printing substrate 100 by means of the inkjet or laser printing method.
- FIG. 1B shows a printing sheet 1 for producing non-inventive printed products with an optical security feature according to the Figure 1A ,
- This will be a Sheet 1 with a substrate 100 and a printing ink containing color pigments with a tilting effect provided.
- a line structure of a plurality of raised and spaced-apart lines 210 is printed on a region 101 of the printing stock 100 by means of an ink-jet printing method or a laser printing method.
- a line structure different from the line structure of the printed matter 10a is made up of a plurality of raised and spaced-apart lines 210 by the ink jet printing method or the laser printing method 102 of the printing material 100 printed.
- the printed products 10a, 10b,..., 10n are separated along the dashed lines.
- the background printing 300 is preferably printed completely or partially over the printing material 100 by the screen or flexographic printing method or also by the inkjet or laser printing method.
- the line structure of the plurality of raised and spaced-apart lines 210 can be imprinted directly onto a region 301 of the background printing 300 arranged above the region 101 of the printing substrate by means of the ink-jet printing method or the laser printing method.
- a line structure comprising a plurality of raised and spaced-apart lines 210, which is different from the line structure of the printed product 10a, can be imprinted directly on a region 302 of the background printing 300 arranged above the region 102 of the printing substrate by means of the inkjet printing method or the laser printing method.
- each of the printed products 10a, 10b,..., 10n can be configured individually differently in an easy manner.
- the ink commonly used for inkjet printing is replaced by a higher viscosity ink. Due to the higher viscosity, it can be ensured that, when the ink is sprayed onto the substrate, for example the printing substrate 100 or the background printing 300, the individual lines 210 can be printed with the desired height and spaced from each other on the substrate, without the ink of adjacent lines into each other.
- the Kippfarbpmentmente therefore preferably have a particle size between 10 .mu.m to 12 .mu.m.
- the color pigments usually contained in variable colors can be ground so that the color pigments, which usually have a particle size of approximately 20 ⁇ m, are comminuted to a particle size of between 10 and 12 ⁇ m.
- the colorant pigments contained in the ink are preferably non-metallic to ensure that no short circuits occur during printing in the printhead.
- metal-doped dip color pigments may be included in the ink, if instead the printhead is modified accordingly.
- FIGS. 2A . 3A and 4A show further embodiments of the printed product 10a, in which the printed product also includes the substrate 100 or optionally the background printing 300, which can be arranged on the substrate 100 fully or partially, wherein the embodiment of the invention in FIG. 4A is shown.
- the line structure 200 can be printed directly on the printing substrate 100 or, if a background printing 300 is used, directly on the background printing.
- FIG. 2A 10 shows a non-inventive embodiment of the printed product 10a, in which a part of the lines 210, for example the lines 211, of the line structure 200 has a different height than another part of the lines 210, for example the lines 212, of the line structure 200.
- the height of the various lines of the line structure 200 can be arbitrarily stepped.
- further lines can be applied to the printing substrate 100 or the background printing 300 with different heights from the lines 211 and 212.
- FIG. 2B shows a printing sheet 1 for the production of various non-inventive printed products 10a, 10b, which according to the in FIG. 2A shown individually designed differently.
- the printing sheet 1 has the printing material 100 on which the background printing 300 can optionally be applied.

- a structured layer 500b structured differently from the structured layer 500a is printed onto a region 102 of the printing substrate 100 by the inkjet printing method or the laser printing method such that the part 110 of the region 102 of the printing substrate 100 or the part 310 of the area 302 of the background printing 300 is covered by the structured layer 500b and the part 120 of the area 102 of the printing material 100 or the part 320 of the area 302 of the background printing 300 is uncovered by the structured layer 500b.
- the printing ink containing the color pigments with the tilting effect is then printed over the entire area on the area 102 of the printing substrate or on the area 302 of the background printing.
- the printing ink is thus printed both on the structured layer 500b and on the part 120 of the region 102 of the printing substrate 100 or on the part 320 of the region 302 of the background printing 300 and then collects on the part 120 of the region 102 of the printing material 100 or the portion 320 of the area 302 of the background print 300, as it is repelled from the surface of the patterned layer 500 b.
- the ink now forms the line structure 200b from a plurality of raised and spaced apart lines 210, which is arranged differently than the line structure 200a.
- the structured layer 500a or 500b is formed as an ink-repellent layer, which is applied to the printing substrate 100 or the background printing 300 by means of the inkjet printing process or the laser printing process.
- the ink-repellent layer 500a, 500b and the intermediate areas of the substrate or the background printing surface inked by screen or flexo the kippfarbpigmententhaltende ink, which later forms the line structure, printed.
- This ink now aligns itself to the desired line structure on the basis of the structured ink-repellent layer 500a, 500b.
- the wetting or the contact angle depend on the difference between the surface energies of the ink-repellent layers 500a, 500b and the printing ink applied thereto.
- ink-repellent layers 500a, 500b printing inks with very low surface energy, for example silicone coatings, can be used.
- the tilting color layer may be an ink having a comparatively high surface energy.
- the respective height of the structured layers 500a, 500b is lower than the height of the lines 210 of the line structure.
- the structured layers 500a, 500b may, for example, have a height of between 1 ⁇ m and 3 ⁇ m, while in the interstices of the structured layers 500a, 500b, in which the ink merges with the color pigments with the tilting effect, a line structure with a line height of between 10 ⁇ m and 20 microns forms.
- the structured layers 500a and 500b can be printed with a different structure on the printing substrate 100 or the background printing 300, so that both printed products 10a and 10b have different masks, as for the printed product 10a and 10b in FIG FIG. 5A is shown.
Description
The invention relates to a printed product with an optical security feature for preventing falsification of the printed product. The invention further relates to a method for producing a printed product with an optical security feature.
To avoid counterfeiting, products are usually labeled by the manufacturer. The label may be, for example, a label or tag which is adhered to the product. Product imitators will endeavor not only to falsify the product, but also to falsify the marking applied to the original product, so that the copy can hardly be distinguished from the original product, not least because of the attached marking. Manufacturers of high-quality products attach great importance to ensuring that the labeling applied to the product is as secure as possible against counterfeiting.
Furthermore, should be based on the label as simple as possible, that is without additional aids, and quickly determine whether it is an offered product is an original product. One possibility, for example, is to provide an optical security feature on a tag that is easily verifiable to a potential customer. This includes, for example, the application of a hologram on a label, on the packaging of a product or on the product itself. However, the production of holograms is associated with great expense and therefore relatively expensive.
In addition to ensuring a high level of safety, many manufacturers place a further requirement for a label that allows the label to easily serialize products. With a serialized tag it is possible for a product supplier not to provide all the products with the same tag, but to mark the individual products individually. For example, each product can be labeled with a product-specific label, number sequence, pattern, or code.
There is a need to provide a printed product with an optical security feature that is as secure as possible against counterfeiting and with which products can be individually marked. Furthermore, it is desirable to specify a method for producing a printed product with an optical security feature with which products can be marked as counterfeit-proof and individually as possible.
An inventive embodiment of a printed product with an optical security feature is specified in
A laser printing method given below may preferably be an electrophotography method with dry toner or liquid toner.
Due to the line structure, the printed product has a latent image as an optically easily perceptible security feature. The latent image arises from the fact that, due to the relief-like lines applied to the substrate in the areas between the lines, depending on the light incidence and the viewing angle, a different visual impression is created. This is due to the fact that when the light comes in because of the raised lines between the lines a shadow is created. This shadow is different depending on the viewing angle and light, so that areas of the printed product appear lighter or darker.
By using optically variable colors with a tilting effect, a different color impression is additionally produced, depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light. The variation of the perceived color impression is essentially due to interference caused by special color pigments in the ink.
The entanglement of a latent image and the optically variable color results in a printed product with an optical security feature, which can be easily visually perceived and checked on the one hand without additional aids and on the other hand is difficult to copy. In addition, it is possible to serialize or individualize the printed product, since the line structure by means of an ink jet printing process or a laser printing process on the substrate is printed. In contrast to a screen printing method in which the same solid printing form is used for all printed products produced by the screen printing method, and thus all the printed products have the same line shape or line height when used, the use of the ink jet printing method or the laser printing method allows each Different print products on the substrate. The possibility of serialization thus increases the security level of the optical security feature of line structure and optically variable color, since in addition, for example, the uniqueness of a number sequence can be used to verify the product to be protected.
An inventive embodiment of a method for producing printed products that are serializable, that can be made product-specific depending on the products to be labeled, is specified in claim 7.

The ink is an optically variable color that contains color pigments with a tilting effect. The color pigments can be small multi-layered platelets. An admixture of a proportion of at least 30% by weight, preferably of 23% by weight, of optically variable color pigments to the printing ink has proved to be particularly suitable.

The
According to an embodiment in which the printed products have a background printing, the
Since the lines of the line structure on the printing substrate or the background printing can be formed differently for each
In order for the
In addition, when spraying the ink by the ink jet method, it is necessary to ensure that the color pigments contained in the ink pass through the ink jet Pass nozzles of the printhead through. The Kippfarbpmentmente therefore preferably have a particle size between 10 .mu.m to 12 .mu.m. To produce such particles, the color pigments usually contained in variable colors can be ground so that the color pigments, which usually have a particle size of approximately 20 μm, are comminuted to a particle size of between 10 and 12 μm.
The colorant pigments contained in the ink are preferably non-metallic to ensure that no short circuits occur during printing in the printhead. Alternatively, metal-doped dip color pigments may be included in the ink, if instead the printhead is modified accordingly.
Due to the different line height and the use of a printing ink with color pigments with a tilting effect creates the impression of a multicolor print. The so-called tilt effect or latency effect, in which depending on the viewing angle of the printed product a different color impression is produced by the Shadow of the single lines. The higher the lines are, the larger the shadow cast and the more the tilt effect is visible. Image elements of the printed product, which are realized by the line structure and have a lower line height, will be optically less noticeable than picture elements having a higher line structure. By varying the heights between different printed products arise from printed product to printed matter to different degrees pronounced picture elements, which in addition to the use of a different arrangement of the lines of Linienstrukur another option for serializing picture elements of the printed products is created.
On the
The
For printing the printed
For serialization or individualization of the printed

For serialization of the printed
For printing the printed
The printing ink containing the color pigments with the tilting effect is then printed over the entire area on the
In the case of the two printed
