Description

Domaine technique de l'inventionTechnical field of the invention

The invention relates to a tie-in harness belt and to a tie-in harness comprising such a belt and a pair of leg loops.

État de la techniqueState of the art

In the field of climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, or for carrying out work at height, tie-in harnesses ensure the safety of people.

Conventionally, a tie-in harness comprises a belt and a pair of leg loops. Depending on the type of use, the belt and the leg loop can be thicker or thinner to ensure user comfort. For example, a harness intended for work at heights must be particularly comfortable to allow prolonged use. In climbing, the harness must also be so as not to injure the climber who falls in a lead route.

In the field of mountaineering and ski touring, the harness is mainly intended for tying in a rope. The thickness of the belt and the thigh loop can be thinner because they are rarely put under tension. This results in a gain in weight and compactness appreciated by athletes, but to the detriment of their comfort.

In order to guarantee good conditions of use whatever the discipline practised, it is important to achieve a compromise between the comfort of the user, the weight of the tie-in harness and its compactness. In this way, the harness is versatile and the user does not need to multiply his equipment.

The document WO 2011/107676 of the applicant discloses a harness which comprises a single resistance wire presented in the form of a loop which is itself folded to form a bundle of loops. The different loops are separated from each other by means of separators fixed to a support strip. The multiple buckles are connected to the belt adjustment means to ensure the mechanical holding of the belt.

The document US 2007/209869 describes a seat harness having a textile strap comprising a non-woven part provided only with warp threads, but without weft thread. The warp threads in the nonwoven part are deployed over a greater width than that occupied by the woven part. The warp threads are sewn onto a backing strip.

The documents DE102012000182 and EP2383018 describe a pair of tie-in harness leg loops comprising two flexible support strips, resistance means attached to the longitudinal ends of the two support strips and intended to connect the two support strips.

Description détailléedetailed description

A tie-in harness 1 such as that shown schematically in figure 1 comprises a belt 2 provided with a waistline 2b associated with an adjustment device 2a. The harness 1 also has a pair of leg loops 3, each leg loop 3 being connected to the dorsal part of the belt 2 advantageously by two elastic straps 4, and to the ventral part by a bridge 5 via a central ring 6.

As depicted at figure 2a , the adjustment device 2a is fixed in first and second positions A and B on a support strip 7 of the waistline 2b. The adjustment device 2a is configured in such a way as to adjust the circumference of the waistline so as to allow adjustment of the size of the belt 2 to the build of the user. By way of example, the adjustment device 2a may comprise a strap which provides mechanical strength in the event of a fall.

One of the roles of the support strip 7 is to ensure the comfort of the user by supporting at least his dorsal part. The support strip 7 has no mechanical tensile strength. It is unable to support the weight of the user.

The support strip 7 can be made of a flexible material 7 such as polypropylene. According to one embodiment, the support strip 7 can be perforated in order to improve its flexibility and its compactness and its breathability, and to reduce the weight of the harness 1. It can for example be made in the form of a grid.

Advantageously, the support strip 7 has a thickness less than or equal to 1.5 mm and even more preferably less than or equal to 1 mm. It may be narrowed at the longitudinal ends and widened at the level of the iliac crests (cf. figure 2a ) to be more comfortable.

The mechanical resistance of the belt is not only conferred by the adjustment device 2a, but also by resistance wires 8 fixed to the adjustment device 2a in third and fourth positions C and D. According to a particular embodiment, the first and third positions A and C on the one hand, and second and fourth positions B and D on the other hand are melted.

In order to improve the compactness and flexibility of the harness, it is in fact wise to use resistance wires 8 rather than straps. The resistance threads 8 are advantageously sewn in juxtaposed fashion on the adjustment device 2a. In this way, the seam has a small thickness in comparison with a seam where the threads are stacked. The area taken up by the seam on the adjuster 2a is also smaller when resistance threads 8 are used instead of straps.

The resistance threads 8 provide mechanical strength in the back part of the waistline 2b. The resistance wires 8 can for example be made of polyethylene having at least 100,000 monomers per molecule, and having a molar mass approximately equal to 3.10 6 g/mol. This type of material is known to have very high tenacity and resistance to abrasion and to ensure the safety of the user in the event of a fall, that is to say when the resistance wires 8 are put on. suddenly in traction.

In the event of impact, the support band 7 placed between the resistance wires 8 and the user prevents the latter from being injured. Indeed, the user could be cut or burned by the sudden traction of the resistance wires 8. Thanks to the support strip, the pressure of the wires is distributed over the entire surface of the support strip 7, which limits strong feeling of discomfort.

Alternatively, the resistance wires 8 can be placed between the user and the support band 7, but this embodiment is less comfortable.

According to the invention, the belt 2 advantageously comprises at least three resistance threads 8. However, when the number of resistance threads is higher, the forces exerted on the user in the event of dynamic use are lower. It may therefore be judicious to make a belt 2 which comprises four or five resistance wires 8, or even seven or more. The fact of making a tie-in harness 1 with at least five wires rather than three increases very little the volume of the harness 1, and makes it possible to better distribute the forces exerted on the resistance wires 8 in the event of a fall. Resistance to higher intensity forces is also improved. This can, for example, be useful for belaying heavy people.

Given that the harness is thinner compared to the harnesses of the prior art, in order to reduce its weight and bulk, the resistance wires are poorly protected. Consequently, the use of several wires also makes it possible to guarantee the reliability of the harness in the event of a manufacturing defect in one of the wires, or in the event of weakening of one of the wires during an impact.

At least one of the resistance threads 8 is longer than the shortest distance separating the third and fourth positions, that is to say the points where the resistance threads 8 are sewn on the adjuster 2a. axis passing through the third and fourth positions is considered hereafter as the longitudinal axis of the belt 2.

Preferably, several resistance wires 8 are longer than the distance between the third and fourth positions. In this way, the resistance wires 8 can be secured spaced apart from each other on the support strip 7 in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The force is distributed over a larger surface of the support strip 7, which limits the discomfort in the event of a fall or more generally when the belt is tensioned.

When tensioning, the support strip 7 deforms slightly to match the shape of the user's pelvis, which puts the resistance wires 8 under tension.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the resistance wires 8 are held on the support strip 7 in a spaced apart manner in the orthogonal direction even when they are put under tension. While keeping a constant spacing in the orthogonal direction, the resistance wires 8 can slide longitudinally if they are put under tension.

Un seul fil de maintien 9 peut être utilisé pour solidariser plusieurs fils de résistance 8 simultanément à la bande de support 7.One way to achieve this is to use retaining wires 9, such as those shown in figure 2b . These are stitched into the support strip 7 in such a way that each stitch point is made close to a resistance wire 8 in order to limit their movement in the orthogonal direction. A single retaining wire 9 can be used to secure several resistance wires 8 simultaneously to the support strip 7.

According to a first embodiment shown in figure 2b , a holding thread 9a can be sewn in a zig-zag so as to hold several resistance threads 8 at the same time. It is also possible to hold the wires of resistance 8 independently of each other by stitching a holding wire 9b in a zig-zag pattern on either side of each resistance wire 8.

According to an alternative embodiment, the resistance threads 8 can also be stitched on the support strip 7 by means of the retaining threads 9c. The stitches are then made directly on the resistance wires 8, so that the latter is fixed in relation to the support strip 7.

The resistance wires 8 can also be held apart on the support strip 7 using holding wires 9d stitched in a direction secant to the longitudinal axis, and preferably in the orthogonal direction. These stitches can be made alone or in addition to the stitches made in zig-zag.

According to a particular embodiment of the invention, at least one reinforcement grid can be arranged between the support strip 7 and the resistance wires 8. The purpose of this reinforcement grid is to improve the rigidity of the support strip 7 while maintaining a very light harness. Since the iliac crests correspond to the most exposed areas in the event of tensioning of the harness 1, it may be advantageous to position a reinforcement grid at the level of each iliac crest to prevent the deformation of the harness 1 and therefore avoid the discomfort of the 'user.

The reinforcement grid being more rigid, it is advantageously located on the iliac crests to facilitate folding of the harness.

The pair of leg loops 3 can also be made using two independent flexible support bands 10 and connected to each other by at least three resistance wires 11 (cf. picture 3 ), the resistance wires 11 forming the bridge 5. According to an alternative embodiment, the pair of turns thigh 3 can contain four or five resistance wires 11, or even more, for example to improve the resistance of the harness 1 if the user has a large build.

Each leg circumference 3a and 3b is formed on the one hand by a seam of the ends 11a of the resistance wires 11 on a part 11b of the wires 11 located at the edge of the bridge 5, at the level of the junction between the bridge 5 and the bands support 10, and on the other hand by sewing the ends of each support strip 10 to one another. As for the belt 2, the mechanical resistance of the thigh loops 3a and 3b is ensured by the resistance wires 11.

Moreover, similarly to the characteristics developed in relation to the belt 2, the resistance wires 11 advantageously have different lengths so as to be kept apart from each other with respect to a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the strips of resistance. support 10, the resistance wire 11 having a minimum length corresponding to that positioned on the longitudinal axis of the support strips 10. The resistance wires 11 can be secured to the support strips 10 in the same way as on the belt 2 while being able to slide along the longitudinal axis of the leg loops. Holding wires can be used to limit the movement of the resistance wires 11 in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the thigh loops. Secant seams at the longitudinal axis of the thigh loops or zig-zag seams can for example be made.

The user's discomfort is then advantageously limited when tensioning the resistance wires 11, for example when the latter sits in the harness 1.

The mechanical properties of the support strips 10 and the resistance wires 11 are preferably identical to those of the support strip 7 and the resistance wires 8. The materials chosen to manufacture the belt 2 and the pair of leg loops 3 are preferably also identical.

As an alternative to the embodiment of the leg loops which has just been described, it is entirely possible to produce adjustable leg loops, each comprising an adjustment device similar to that described in relation to the belt 2 of the harness 1 .

A light, compact, solid and comfortable tie-in harness 1 is thus obtained, which can be used both in the context of use in mountaineering or ski touring where lightness and compactness are essential, and in the framework for use in climbing, where comfort is the most important criterion.
