Definitions
- the present application relates to a window assembly for mounting in an opening provided in a wall, comprising a closed-loop window frame which encloses and defines a window frame opening, a glass pane arranged in the window frame opening, and a glass pane holding frame which is fixed to the window frame, the glass pane is arranged with an edge region between a circumferential, radially inwardly projecting projection and the glass pane holding frame. It is intended and suitable in particular for pressurized applications.
- the present application also relates to a wall, a vehicle and a door with such a window arrangement and a method for producing such a window arrangement.
- fenestrations are pressurized during use and must be pressure-tight to prevent certain media from passing through the fenestration.
- window arrangements of ships must be resistant to the pressures that occur when waves hit and reliably prevent the ingress of water from the outside through the window arrangement into the interior of the ship.
- overpressure can occur inside.
- window arrangements or glazed openings are known from the standards ISO 1751, ISO 3903 and ISO 11336-1, in which the pressure tightness is achieved in that a window frame of the window arrangement is permanently pressure-tightly connected to the surrounding wall and a Glass pane holding frame is fastened to the window frame in this way by means of a plurality of screws.
- a glass pane of the window arrangement is arranged with a peripheral edge region between a radially inwardly projecting projection of the window frame and the glass pane retaining frame and clamped between them.
- a sealing ring is disposed in a corresponding groove in the projection and in the glass sheet holding frame, respectively. The two sealing rings are compressed in the axial direction to ensure the required sealing effect and pressure resistance and thus prevent the ingress of pressurized media, such as water in particular.
- Screws or screw connections are regularly the weakest link in the window arrangement and, when pressure is applied, not only lead to the failure of the window arrangement, but also create a danger to life and limb, e.g. through breaking off, "flying" screw heads.
- screw connections if not properly executed, can result in localized loads on the glass pane and are prone to permanent failure such as corrosion, which can result from the use of inferior screws or the wrong tap.
- screw connections can only be checked using very complex test methods.
- window assemblies that use screws to secure the glass pane and seal are very time consuming to manufacture.
- threaded holes are made every 75 mm on the window circumference, into which screws must be screwed.
- the holes in the window frame and in the glass pane holding frame must be exactly congruent. Since the frame parts are preferably usually bent from profiles or made of cast metal, they have a relatively large tolerance range in their dimensions, so that in practice they are placed on top of one another and then with one another have to be drilled. However, the parts are then no longer interchangeable.
- the WO 01/34459 A1 relates to a transparent window, in particular a ship's window, with a window frame according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the window frame has a circumferential undercut on its inside, into which a circumferential web provided on the glass pane holding frame can be inserted and the glass pane holding frame can thus be connected to the window frame. Otherwise, the function of the glass pane holding frame corresponds to that of the screw construction described above.
- connection between the glass pane holding frame and the window frame is designed in such a way that the glass pane holding frame clamps the glass pane between the radially inward projection of the window frame and the glass pane holding frame and between the glass pane and the projection and between the glass pane and the glass panes -holder frame Sealing rings arranged in a corresponding groove in the projection or in the glass pane holding frame are permanently compressed in the axial direction.
- the fixing of the glass pane and the pressure tightness are achieved in that the glass pane holding frame presses on the seal to the glass pane with great clamping force and the glass pane in turn presses on the seal between the glass pane and window frame through the pressure of the glass pane holding frame.
- the glass pane holding frame must be connected to the window frame with a great deal of force and by suitable canting. This is therefore associated with great difficulty and regularly requires the use of a hammer. In addition, it is difficult to do this in such a way that the sealing rings are not inadvertently displaced from their intended positions by the movement of the glass sheet holding frame.
- window assemblies which bond the glass pane directly to the window frame without using a glass pane retaining frame.
- an adhesion has the disadvantage that the glass pane is no longer held on the window arrangement in the event of a total failure of the sealing adhesive layer, for example as a result of a fire.
- a simple and reliable method for producing such a window arrangement is to be provided.
- the window assembly of the present invention is conventionally adapted for mounting in an opening provided in a wall. When installed, it provides a glazed opening and may also be referred to as a glazed opening itself.
- the window arrangement initially has a window frame which is closed in the form of a ring and which encloses and defines a window frame opening and can also be referred to as a frame.
- the window frame is in the usual way preferably an outer frame part of the window arrangement, which is used for fastening the window arrangement in an opening provided in a wall or wall - in particular along an outer periphery - with the wall or wall at the edges or in the vicinity of the Edges of the opening is attached pressure-tight.
- the window frame is thus ring-shaped overall, with the shape being circular, oval or rectangular with or without rounded corners, for example. It therefore also defines an axis which extends through the window frame opening and is enclosed by the window frame and can, for example, extend in one plane. Then the axis - like every ring axis - runs perpendicular to this plane.
- the window frame has a circumferential, ie ring-shaped, projection that protrudes radially inward toward the axis into the window frame opening and has a first contact surface and a—preferably circumferential, ie preferably ring-shaped, but possibly also several along it of the periphery of the window frame spaced apart - groove or depression which is open radially inward towards the axis.
- the groove and the projection are spaced apart in the axial direction.
- the window assembly also includes a glass pane support frame having a second abutment surface.
- This glass pane holding frame is preferably an inner frame part--in relation to the window frame.
- the glass pane holding frame is in turn ring-shaped overall, with the shape being circular, oval or rectangular with or without rounded corners, for example.
- the glass pane holding frame is preferably closed in the form of a ring, whereby it can be designed in one piece or can have a plurality of sections which are arranged one behind the other, particularly seen in the circumferential direction of the glass pane holding frame, with adjacent sections in each case abutting or engaging one another to form a ring-shaped closed structure.
- the glass pane holding frame can have a plurality of separate sections which, viewed in the circumferential direction of the glass pane holding frame, are arranged one behind the other and for adjacent sections to be spaced apart from one another.
- the glass pane holding frame is then ring-shaped, but has interruptions along its circumference.
- the glazing support frame also encloses and defines an opening which may have various cross-sectional shapes, such as circular, oval or rectangular, with or without rounded corners, and which - as will be apparent from the following discussion - of lesser Dimensions or smaller diameter than the glass pane.
- the glass pane holding frame can also extend in one plane, for example.
- the second contact surface is preferably closed in the form of a ring, but can also have several have spaced portions along the periphery of the glass sheet support frame.
- the glass pane retaining frame has an edge region—preferably circumferential, i.e. preferably closed in the form of a ring, but possibly also provided in several sections spaced apart from one another along the circumference of the window frame—which engages with the groove and, through this engagement, the glass pane retaining frame in particular releasably attached to the window frame in such a way that the first contact surface and the second contact surface are spaced apart from one another in the axial direction and face one another or lie opposite one another. In this way, a radially inwardly open annular space is formed, which is delimited in the axial direction by the two contact surfaces and in the radial direction outwards by the window frame. Designing the glass panel support frame in multiple sections may simplify its engagement with the groove during assembly of the window assembly.
- the window assembly also includes a pane of glass disposed in the window frame opening and with a peripheral edge region between the first abutment and the second abutment.
- the glass pane holding frame defines an opening with a diameter or with dimensions which, like the clear diameter defined by the projection or the clear dimensions defined by the projection, are less than is the diameter or dimensions of the glass sheet, thereby limiting the movement of the glass sheet between the two abutment surfaces in the axial direction and through the window frame in the radial direction and thus retaining the glass sheet in the window assembly.
- the window arrangement has a first ring-shaped closed sealing material arrangement or a first sealing material ring and a second—preferably likewise ring-shaped closed—sealing material arrangement or preferably a second sealing material ring.
- the first sealing material arrangement is arranged between the glass pane—or more precisely its peripheral edge area—and the first contact surface and adheres to the glass pane and to the first contact surface in a peripheral contact area, preferably inseparably or permanently.
- the second sealing material arrangement is arranged between the glass pane - or more precisely its peripheral edge area - and the second contact surface and adheres to the glass pane and to the second contact surface - in the preferred ring-shaped closed configuration of the second sealing material arrangement preferably in a peripheral contact area in each case - and preferably insoluble or permanent.
- the two sealing material arrangements thus each produce a connection between the glass pane holding frame and the glass pane or between the glass pane and the window frame and at the same time a seal or seal against the passage of media, such as water in particular.
- This configuration has the advantage that the pressing in of seals and thus seals or sealing rings that are permanently pressed together in the axial direction can be dispensed with, since the required pressure tightness is produced by a combination of seal and adhesive seal.
- the glass pane retaining frame connected to the window frame is additionally fixed by means of the seal and permanently connected to the glass pane, preferably in a pressure-tight manner.
- the glass pane is fixed in its position and permanently connected to the window frame by means of sealing, thus creating pressure tightness. Since the glass pane retaining frame does not have to provide any pressing force for seals, it can be connected to the window frame more easily and with less effort, for example by inserting it into the groove.
- the glass sheet is reliably retained by the window frame and the glass sheet retaining frame even in the event of a failure of the sealant assemblies in the window assembly, and the sealant assemblies provide axial damping for the glass sheet.
- Such a window arrangement has the further advantages that the glass pane can be easily installed or changed without the use of special tools and without calling in specialist companies, a higher compressive strength than with comparable known glazed openings can be achieved, in contrast to bonded glass panes no protection of the bond against UV radiation, e.g. through black screen printing, is necessary and the simple arrangement of window frames and glass pane retaining frames can lead to an elegant appearance.
- the first contact surface is a flat, ring-shaped closed surface that runs parallel to the surface of the edge region of the glass pane facing it, and/or the second contact surface is a flat, preferably ring-shaped closed surface or else in several of each other along the Circumferentially spaced portions provided surface which is parallel to the facing surface of the edge portion of the glass sheet.
- the glass sheet retaining frame is in the form of an annular disc which can be fitted at its outer edge portion into the groove and which can be provided in one piece or in several sections as explained above.
- the axial dimensions of the groove and the annular disk correspond to one another.
- This configuration is particularly simple.
- the window assembly has no screws for the purpose of retaining the window pane in the window assembly.
- the first arrangement of sealing material and/or the second arrangement of sealing material is formed from a—preferably one-component—adhesive. Regardless of whether an adhesive is used or not, it is preferred if the first sealing material arrangement and/or the second sealing material arrangement has a Shore A hardness of 50 or less, preferably from 40 to 50 and more preferably from 45 to 50, the Shore A hardness can be measured according to DIN ISO 868, for example. Alternatively or additionally, it is preferred if the first sealing material arrangement and/or the second sealing material arrangement has an elongation at break of more than 200%, preferably from 200 to 500%, more preferably from 400 to 500% and for example from 450%, the elongation at break for Example according to DIN ISO 37 can be measured. These values for the Shore A hardness and for the elongation at break are significantly lower or higher than the values of conventional sealing rings.
- the first arrangement of sealing material and/or the second arrangement of sealing material is not permanently compressed in the axial direction.
- the window arrangement described above can be a window arrangement for a vehicle, in particular a watercraft or ship, or for a door. Accordingly, it can be part of a vehicle, in particular a watercraft or ship, or a door and form a window or a glazed opening of the vehicle or door. As already indicated above, it can be attached to a wall or wall with an opening. However, it is also possible for it to be provided for other walls or partitions or for it to form part of another wall or partition. For this purpose, the window frame is preferably permanently attached to the wall or partition.
- the window arrangement described above can be produced in an advantageous manner by a method that can be carried out simply and reliably, in which first a closed ring-shaped window frame of the configuration already described in detail above is provided.
- This therefore encloses and defines in particular a window frame opening and has a peripheral projection protruding radially inward into the window frame opening with a first contact surface and a preferably peripheral groove or depression which is open radially inward.
- a glass pane holding frame—preferably closed in the form of a ring—of the embodiment already described in detail above is provided. This therefore has in particular a second contact surface and a preferably circumferential edge area.
- a glass pane is provided and the glass pane is arranged in the window frame opening in the axial direction between the first abutment surface and the groove.
- the glass pane holding frame is fixed to the window frame in the manner already described in detail by engaging the edge portion of the glass pane holding frame with the groove so that the first abutment surface and the second abutment surface are axially spaced and face each other and the glass pane with is arranged in a peripheral edge region between the first contact surface and the second contact surface.
- a sealing material is introduced and e.g. injected between the glass pane and the first contact surface to form a first ring-shaped closed sealing material arrangement, which adheres to the glass pane and to the first contact surface in a circumferential contact area and is of the configuration already described in detail above.
- a sealing material is introduced and e.g.
- the sealing material for forming the first arrangement of sealing material is identical to the sealing material for forming the second arrangement of sealing material.
- the method further comprises the step of curing the sealing material after placement to form the first array of sealing material and/or curing the sealing material after placement to form the second array of sealant, eg, by exposure to light, heat or moisture.
- figure 1 12 shows a cross-sectional view of a window assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the window assembly 10 shown includes an annularly closed outer window frame 1 enclosing and defining a window frame opening 7 .
- the window frame 1 is permanently pressure-tightly connected to a wall 6 and is arranged in an opening 8 in the wall 6 .
- the window frame 1 On its inner circumference, the window frame 1 has a one-piece circumferential or ring-shaped projection 1a, which is designed as a web or annular disk-shaped and protrudes radially inwards into the window frame opening 7 .
- the projection 1a defines an area of reduced clear diameter of the window frame opening 7.
- the projection 1a has at its in figure 1 upper surface on a contact surface 9a.
- the window frame 1 also has on its inner circumference, in which figure 1 spaced upwards from the contact surface 9a, a peripheral or ring-shaped closed groove 5, which is aligned in the radial direction and opens in the radial direction inwards.
- a disk-shaped or annular disk-shaped glass pane retaining frame 4 which can be provided in one piece or in several directly adjacent sections, is inserted with a circumferential outer edge area, the dimensions of which correspond to the dimensions of groove 5, so that they fit into groove 5, so that the glass pane holding frame 4 is fixed to the window frame 1 is.
- the glass pane holding frame 4 has at its in figure 1 lower surface on a contact surface 9b.
- the abutment surfaces 9a and 9b face each other, are opposed to each other and are spaced apart from each other.
- a pane of glass 3 is arranged in the window frame opening 7 in such a way that its peripheral edge area is located in the annular space, which is open radially inwards and extends radially outwards through the window frame 1 and upwards and downwards, i.e. in the axial direction, through the contact surfaces 9a and 9b is limited. Therefore, the glass pane 3 cannot be removed from the window assembly 1 without removing the glass pane holding frame 4 .
- a sealing material 2a is arranged circumferentially between the glass pane 3 and the contact surface 9a in a ring-shaped arrangement, which adheres both to the glass pane 3 and to the contact surface 9a or is in an adhesive connection thereto.
- a sealing material 2b is arranged circumferentially between the glass pane 3 and the contact surface 9b in a ring-shaped arrangement, which adheres to both the glass pane 3 and the contact surface 9b or is in an adhesive connection with them.
- the sealing material arrangements 9a and 9b further limit or dampen the movement of the glass pane 3 in the axial direction and at the same time seal or seal against the passage of water or other media.
- the sealing material arrangements are designed or the sealing material is selected so that a seal or sealing against the Passage of water is provided.
- the window assembly 10 is arranged so that the interior 11 of the watercraft or ship in the figure 1 is at the top and the exterior 12 is at the bottom, ie the glass pane holding frame 4 faces the interior 11 so that, in use, pressure is applied by wave impact on the surface of the glass pane 3 applied to the glass pane holding frame 4 .

Description
The present application relates to a window assembly for mounting in an opening provided in a wall, comprising a closed-loop window frame which encloses and defines a window frame opening, a glass pane arranged in the window frame opening, and a glass pane holding frame which is fixed to the window frame, the glass pane is arranged with an edge region between a circumferential, radially inwardly projecting projection and the glass pane holding frame. It is intended and suitable in particular for pressurized applications. The present application also relates to a wall, a vehicle and a door with such a window arrangement and a method for producing such a window arrangement.
In many applications, fenestrations are pressurized during use and must be pressure-tight to prevent certain media from passing through the fenestration. For example, window arrangements of ships must be resistant to the pressures that occur when waves hit and reliably prevent the ingress of water from the outside through the window arrangement into the interior of the ship. In other applications, such as in digestion towers, overpressure can occur inside.
For example, in the case of ships, window arrangements or glazed openings are known from the standards ISO 1751, ISO 3903 and ISO 11336-1, in which the pressure tightness is achieved in that a window frame of the window arrangement is permanently pressure-tightly connected to the surrounding wall and a Glass pane holding frame is fastened to the window frame in this way by means of a plurality of screws. A glass pane of the window arrangement is arranged with a peripheral edge region between a radially inwardly projecting projection of the window frame and the glass pane retaining frame and clamped between them. Between the pane of glass and the projection, and between the glass sheet and the glass sheet holding frame, a sealing ring is disposed in a corresponding groove in the projection and in the glass sheet holding frame, respectively. The two sealing rings are compressed in the axial direction to ensure the required sealing effect and pressure resistance and thus prevent the ingress of pressurized media, such as water in particular.
So stellen Schrauben bzw. This configuration has various (safety) technical and economic disadvantages. Screws or screw connections are regularly the weakest link in the window arrangement and, when pressure is applied, not only lead to the failure of the window arrangement, but also create a danger to life and limb, e.g. through breaking off, "flying" screw heads. In addition, screw connections, if not properly executed, can result in localized loads on the glass pane and are prone to permanent failure such as corrosion, which can result from the use of inferior screws or the wrong tap. Furthermore, once the window arrangement has been completed, screw connections can only be checked using very complex test methods.
In addition, window assemblies that use screws to secure the glass pane and seal are very time consuming to manufacture. In known window arrangements, for example, threaded holes are made every 75 mm on the window circumference, into which screws must be screwed. The holes in the window frame and in the glass pane holding frame must be exactly congruent. Since the frame parts are preferably usually bent from profiles or made of cast metal, they have a relatively large tolerance range in their dimensions, so that in practice they are placed on top of one another and then with one another have to be drilled. However, the parts are then no longer interchangeable.
Finally, when the glass pane of a window assembly needs to be replaced after a few years, it often proves very difficult or even impossible to remove the screws again due to corrosion or paint residues. Even if this succeeds, sometimes new glass pane retaining frames have to be made, in which case it is very difficult--as stated above--to achieve the matching hole spacing of the frames. Sometimes the screws are so stuck in the window frame that they can only be removed from the window frame by force or by drilling. During this process, the core hole of the threaded hole is enlarged, as a result of which the functionality and strength of the thread and the screw connection or screw connection provided by it are impaired. Then the window arrangement no longer corresponds to the relevant safety standards without this being readily apparent.
Due to the need to generate this pressure, the glass pane holding frame must be connected to the window frame with a great deal of force and by suitable canting. This is therefore associated with great difficulty and regularly requires the use of a hammer. In addition, it is difficult to do this in such a way that the sealing rings are not inadvertently displaced from their intended positions by the movement of the glass sheet holding frame.
Finally, window assemblies are known which bond the glass pane directly to the window frame without using a glass pane retaining frame. However, such an adhesion has the disadvantage that the glass pane is no longer held on the window arrangement in the event of a total failure of the sealing adhesive layer, for example as a result of a fire.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a window assembly which is simple in construction and manufacture and which reliably provides pressure tightness while retaining the glass pane to the window assembly even if the seal fails. In addition, a simple and reliable method for producing such a window arrangement is to be provided.
This object is achieved by a window arrangement having the features of
The window assembly of the present invention is conventionally adapted for mounting in an opening provided in a wall. When installed, it provides a glazed opening and may also be referred to as a glazed opening itself.
The window arrangement initially has a window frame which is closed in the form of a ring and which encloses and defines a window frame opening and can also be referred to as a frame. The window frame is in the usual way preferably an outer frame part of the window arrangement, which is used for fastening the window arrangement in an opening provided in a wall or wall - in particular along an outer periphery - with the wall or wall at the edges or in the vicinity of the Edges of the opening is attached pressure-tight. The window frame is thus ring-shaped overall, with the shape being circular, oval or rectangular with or without rounded corners, for example. It therefore also defines an axis which extends through the window frame opening and is enclosed by the window frame and can, for example, extend in one plane. Then the axis - like every ring axis - runs perpendicular to this plane.
The window frame has a circumferential, ie ring-shaped, projection that protrudes radially inward toward the axis into the window frame opening and has a first contact surface and a—preferably circumferential, ie preferably ring-shaped, but possibly also several along it of the periphery of the window frame spaced apart - groove or depression which is open radially inward towards the axis. As will become clear, the groove and the projection are spaced apart in the axial direction.
The window assembly also includes a glass pane support frame having a second abutment surface. This glass pane holding frame is preferably an inner frame part--in relation to the window frame. The glass pane holding frame is in turn ring-shaped overall, with the shape being circular, oval or rectangular with or without rounded corners, for example. The glass pane holding frame is preferably closed in the form of a ring, whereby it can be designed in one piece or can have a plurality of sections which are arranged one behind the other, particularly seen in the circumferential direction of the glass pane holding frame, with adjacent sections in each case abutting or engaging one another to form a ring-shaped closed structure. However, it is also possible for the glass pane holding frame to have a plurality of separate sections which, viewed in the circumferential direction of the glass pane holding frame, are arranged one behind the other and for adjacent sections to be spaced apart from one another. The glass pane holding frame is then ring-shaped, but has interruptions along its circumference. In any event, like the window frame, the glazing support frame also encloses and defines an opening which may have various cross-sectional shapes, such as circular, oval or rectangular, with or without rounded corners, and which - as will be apparent from the following discussion - of lesser Dimensions or smaller diameter than the glass pane. The glass pane holding frame can also extend in one plane, for example. The second contact surface is preferably closed in the form of a ring, but can also have several have spaced portions along the periphery of the glass sheet support frame.
The glass pane retaining frame has an edge region—preferably circumferential, i.e. preferably closed in the form of a ring, but possibly also provided in several sections spaced apart from one another along the circumference of the window frame—which engages with the groove and, through this engagement, the glass pane retaining frame in particular releasably attached to the window frame in such a way that the first contact surface and the second contact surface are spaced apart from one another in the axial direction and face one another or lie opposite one another. In this way, a radially inwardly open annular space is formed, which is delimited in the axial direction by the two contact surfaces and in the radial direction outwards by the window frame. Designing the glass panel support frame in multiple sections may simplify its engagement with the groove during assembly of the window assembly.
The window assembly also includes a pane of glass disposed in the window frame opening and with a peripheral edge region between the first abutment and the second abutment. In other words, as already indicated above, the glass pane holding frame defines an opening with a diameter or with dimensions which, like the clear diameter defined by the projection or the clear dimensions defined by the projection, are less than is the diameter or dimensions of the glass sheet, thereby limiting the movement of the glass sheet between the two abutment surfaces in the axial direction and through the window frame in the radial direction and thus retaining the glass sheet in the window assembly. Finally, the window arrangement has a first ring-shaped closed sealing material arrangement or a first sealing material ring and a second—preferably likewise ring-shaped closed—sealing material arrangement or preferably a second sealing material ring. The first sealing material arrangement is arranged between the glass pane—or more precisely its peripheral edge area—and the first contact surface and adheres to the glass pane and to the first contact surface in a peripheral contact area, preferably inseparably or permanently. In a similar way, the second sealing material arrangement is arranged between the glass pane - or more precisely its peripheral edge area - and the second contact surface and adheres to the glass pane and to the second contact surface - in the preferred ring-shaped closed configuration of the second sealing material arrangement preferably in a peripheral contact area in each case - and preferably insoluble or permanent. The two sealing material arrangements thus each produce a connection between the glass pane holding frame and the glass pane or between the glass pane and the window frame and at the same time a seal or seal against the passage of media, such as water in particular.
This configuration has the advantage that the pressing in of seals and thus seals or sealing rings that are permanently pressed together in the axial direction can be dispensed with, since the required pressure tightness is produced by a combination of seal and adhesive seal. In particular, the glass pane retaining frame connected to the window frame is additionally fixed by means of the seal and permanently connected to the glass pane, preferably in a pressure-tight manner. In the same way, the glass pane is fixed in its position and permanently connected to the window frame by means of sealing, thus creating pressure tightness. Since the glass pane retaining frame does not have to provide any pressing force for seals, it can be connected to the window frame more easily and with less effort, for example by inserting it into the groove. The glass sheet is reliably retained by the window frame and the glass sheet retaining frame even in the event of a failure of the sealant assemblies in the window assembly, and the sealant assemblies provide axial damping for the glass sheet.
At the same time, it is possible to reliably guarantee a load capacity of at least 100,000 N/m 2 window area—and significantly more if necessary—and a pressure tightness of at least 0.2 bar and preferably 0.2 to 1 bar and more preferably 0.2 to 0.5 bar.
Such a window arrangement has the further advantages that the glass pane can be easily installed or changed without the use of special tools and without calling in specialist companies, a higher compressive strength than with comparable known glazed openings can be achieved, in contrast to bonded glass panes no protection of the bond against UV radiation, e.g. through black screen printing, is necessary and the simple arrangement of window frames and glass pane retaining frames can lead to an elegant appearance.
In a preferred embodiment, the first contact surface is a flat, ring-shaped closed surface that runs parallel to the surface of the edge region of the glass pane facing it, and/or the second contact surface is a flat, preferably ring-shaped closed surface or else in several of each other along the Circumferentially spaced portions provided surface which is parallel to the facing surface of the edge portion of the glass sheet.
In a preferred embodiment, the glass sheet retaining frame is in the form of an annular disc which can be fitted at its outer edge portion into the groove and which can be provided in one piece or in several sections as explained above. In other words, the axial dimensions of the groove and the annular disk correspond to one another. This configuration is particularly simple. Alternatively, it is also possible for the glass pane holding frame to have a web or other type of projection that can be inserted into the groove to fit.
It is particularly preferred if the window assembly has no screws for the purpose of retaining the window pane in the window assembly.
In a preferred embodiment, the first arrangement of sealing material and/or the second arrangement of sealing material is formed from a—preferably one-component—adhesive.
According to the invention, the first arrangement of sealing material and/or the second arrangement of sealing material is not permanently compressed in the axial direction.
Wandung befestigt. The window arrangement described above can be a window arrangement for a vehicle, in particular a watercraft or ship, or for a door.
The window arrangement described above can be produced in an advantageous manner by a method that can be carried out simply and reliably, in which first a closed ring-shaped window frame of the configuration already described in detail above is provided. This therefore encloses and defines in particular a window frame opening and has a peripheral projection protruding radially inward into the window frame opening with a first contact surface and a preferably peripheral groove or depression which is open radially inward. Furthermore, a glass pane holding frame—preferably closed in the form of a ring—of the embodiment already described in detail above is provided. This therefore has in particular a second contact surface and a preferably circumferential edge area. In addition, a glass pane is provided and the glass pane is arranged in the window frame opening in the axial direction between the first abutment surface and the groove.
The glass pane holding frame is fixed to the window frame in the manner already described in detail by engaging the edge portion of the glass pane holding frame with the groove so that the first abutment surface and the second abutment surface are axially spaced and face each other and the glass pane with is arranged in a peripheral edge region between the first contact surface and the second contact surface. Furthermore, a sealing material is introduced and e.g. injected between the glass pane and the first contact surface to form a first ring-shaped closed sealing material arrangement, which adheres to the glass pane and to the first contact surface in a circumferential contact area and is of the configuration already described in detail above. In a similar way, a sealing material is introduced and e.g. injected between the glass pane and the second contact surface to form a second - preferably ring-shaped closed - sealing material arrangement which adheres to the glass pane and to the second contact surface - preferably in a circumferential contact area in each case - and which is configuration already described in detail above.
In a preferred embodiment, the sealing material for forming the first arrangement of sealing material is identical to the sealing material for forming the second arrangement of sealing material.
In a preferred embodiment, the method further comprises the step of curing the sealing material after placement to form the first array of sealing material and/or curing the sealing material after placement to form the second array of sealant, eg, by exposure to light, heat or moisture.
