Description

  • The present invention relates to a linking mechanism that connects two or more cooling devices.
In the state of the art, various methods exist for grouping two or more cooling devices. For example, connection holes are formed on the outer surfaces of the cooling devices desired to be connected and the cooling devices are held together by means of a connector placed on the connector holes. However, since the grouped cooling devices are deformed when desired to be used separately, the esthetic appearance thereof is deteriorated. Moreover, the insulation thickness decreases at the portions where the cooling devices grouped in the said manner are deformed and consequently the cooling performance of the cooling device decreases.
In the state of the art Great Britain Patent Document No. GB1387339 , a connection member is explained which provides the grouping of two cooling devices.
  • United States Patent Application US 2008/0067900 A1 describes a connector in the form of a rectangular frame for coupling two units such as cupboards. Each unit comprises a downwardly extending flange on its top edge and an upwardly extending flange on its bottom edge. If the units are placed side by side, their respective flanges extend parallel to each other in the horizontal direction. The units are connected by sliding the connector between them such that the flanges extend into slots in the top side and bottom side, respectively, of the connector.
International Patent Application WO 2006/013182 A1 discloses the connection between two household appliances by catch elements comprising Velcro® tape. Japanese Patent Document JPH11210718A discloses means for connecting two items comprising a first structure with a recession into which a projection of a second structure fits.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a linking mechanism that enables two or more cooling devices to be firmly grouped without forming any deformation on the cooling devices.
The linking mechanism realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a first support member mounted on the side wall of one of the cooling devices, a second support member mounted on the side wall of the other cooling device and two connection members that connect the first support member and the second support member to each other at their opposite ends by being passed therebetween when the cooling devices are brought side by side.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the support members extend along the surface where they are connected to the cooling devices. Thus, the support members are more firmly connected to the cooling devices.
  • In the present invention, the linking mechanism
comprises at least one screw path arranged on at least one of the support members and at least one screw that enables the connection member to be fixed to the screw path after the connection member is inserted between the support members. The screw passed through the connection member is fixed to the screw path arranged on at least one of the support members and thus fixes the connection member to the support member. In an embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises a spring that is provided on the screw fixing the connection member and the support member to each other and that remains between the connection member and the support member. The spring pushes the connection member out of the support member during assembly and thus the connection position of the connection member can be adjusted by the user who connects the connection member to the support member. Since the connection member is connected to the screw head by means of the spring, ease of assembly is provided.
In an embodiment of the present invention, at least one of the support members comprises the screw path that extends almost all along the support member. Thus, two connection members are fixed to two ends of a single screw path, enabling the connection of the connection members. In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection members have symmetrical configurations.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the first support member and the second support member are identical. Thus, the inventory tracking of the support members is facilitated.
By means of the light and durable linking mechanism, the cooling devices connected to each other can be moved together.
