Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of fire safety and light construction housing in particular flammable and / or hazardous materials and relates to a fireproof storage container and choke-fire.
- a storage container is a light construction placed inside a building or in the open air and being adapted to house flammable and / or dangerous materials such as pallets, electrical equipment, gas bottles , drums, vats or other containers containing, for example, chemicals, toxic or pollutants.
- Such a storage container which comprises a plurality of sides defining its internal space for storing the outer space, generally has a rectangular parallelepiped shape with two opposite horizontal sides, upper and lower, respectively forming the roof and the floor and four sides vertical sides connecting said upper and lower sides to each other.
- it also comprises an access opening, for the passage of people and materials, formed in one of the lateral sides and closed by a door unit comprising a frame and at least one mounted leaf, generally pivoting, in this last.
- each side is made from a wall, or partition, firewall, in one piece, giving the container an effective fire resistance, meeting current fire standards , to protect, where appropriate, stored equipment against flames and hot gases from a fire outside the container or to protect the external environment of the container in the event of a fire in its internal space.
- the object of the present invention is to overcome at least one of these disadvantages by proposing a fireproof and fire-extinguishing storage container which essentially allows, in addition to the protection of the container against a fire which is triggered externally and during a presence. prolonged of the latter to heat over a certain temperature, to protect the material contained in its storage space against fire by automatic extinction, in minutes, if any, fire igniting at least one of said equipment.
- a container has the advantage of being delivered in the disassembled state to be easily transportable and able to pass through access openings of any size. If necessary, such a container may also be provided to be removable so that it can be dismounted directly on the site of its installation to allow easy removal and through said access openings of said container.
- the figures show a fireproof and fire-extinguishing storage container having a generally parallelepiped shape, preferably rectangular parallelepiped, and housing an internal storage space 1, for the storage of materials, delimited with respect to the external space 2 the container, by a plurality of sides, namely two opposite sides 3f and 3f opposite, forming the roof, or lower, forming the floor, preferably each extending in a horizontal plane or parallel to the ground on which the container rests, and lateral sides 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d connecting these, each preferably extending in a vertical plane, said container comprising at least one access opening, allowing the passage of people and materials, arranged in the one of the lateral sides, and closed by a fire door block 4 comprising a frame 4a and at least one leaf 4b mounted therein.
- a fire door block 4 comprising a frame 4a and at least one leaf 4b mounted therein.
- Materials intended to be stored in such a container are flammable and / or dangerous materials such as, for example, pallets, electrical equipment, gas cylinders, drums, tanks or other containers containing, for example, chemicals, toxic or pollutants.
- the leaf 4b may be, for example, a pivoting or sliding leaf, preferably pivotally mounted in the frame 4a.
- a container capable of preventing sufficient gas exchange, especially air and more particularly of oxygen, between the internal space 1 of storage 1 and the external space 2, so that any fire triggering in the internal space 1 of storage is quickly deprived of air, and therefore oxygen, fire not benefiting essentially that ambient air present in the internal space 1 storage and depleting oxygen as the fire burns, with the effect of choking and extinguishing the fire in a few minutes, c in other words, in less than 5 minutes. Tests carried out by the present applicant have shown that with such a container the fire could be smothered and extinguished very quickly in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
- such a container can achieve the aforementioned choking purpose even with a small percentage of air passages, up to about 10% to 20% of the air passages, which are not sealed at all. air, that is to say with almost all the air passages made airtight (about 80 to 100%), without departing from the scope of the present invention.
- the fire extinction time by quenching with such a container would be greater than the optimum time with 100% of air passages rendered airtight (about 2 minutes and 30 seconds or less), but still less than at a time of about 5 minutes much lower than the current intervention time of the rescue (about 45 minutes) to extinguish the fire in the current containers.
- airtightness 8 may be applied against at least a portion of the air passages, so as to make a sufficient number of air passages airtight, preferably each air passage, to make the air container sufficiently airtight to create the air effect and suffocation aforementioned.
- this may comprise substantially fireproof and airtight panels 5 of parallelepipedal shape, preferably rectangular parallelepipedal, and each side 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f may be formed by a wall, said wall main, which may include one of the panels 5 or a juxtaposition of several panels 5 and, where appropriate, the door block 4.

Description
The present invention relates to the field of fire safety and light construction housing in particular flammable and / or hazardous materials and relates to a fireproof storage container and choke-fire.
It is known that a storage container is a light construction placed inside a building or in the open air and being adapted to house flammable and / or dangerous materials such as pallets, electrical equipment, gas bottles , drums, vats or other containers containing, for example, chemicals, toxic or pollutants.
Such a storage container, which comprises a plurality of sides defining its internal space for storing the outer space, generally has a rectangular parallelepiped shape with two opposite horizontal sides, upper and lower, respectively forming the roof and the floor and four sides vertical sides connecting said upper and lower sides to each other. In addition, it also comprises an access opening, for the passage of people and materials, formed in one of the lateral sides and closed by a door unit comprising a frame and at least one mounted leaf, generally pivoting, in this last.
In addition, to protect the materials stored in these containers, each side is made from a wall, or partition, firewall, in one piece, giving the container an effective fire resistance, meeting current fire standards , to protect, where appropriate, stored equipment against flames and hot gases from a fire outside the container or to protect the external environment of the container in the event of a fire in its internal space.
However, in the event of a fire occurring inside the container, if the fire walls of these containers provide effective fire resistance, of at least 90 minutes, allowing the emergency services to intervene in the container to extinguish the fire, this time is too long to prevent the spread of flames or hot gases from one equipment to another. In addition, during this fire resistance of the partitions, the flammable or flammable toxic or polluting products affected by flames or hot gases are likely to create toxic or polluting fumes posing a danger to the external environment and / or the emergency services intervening in the vicinity or in the container.
Another problem with the current fireproof containers, which are permanently installed in the factory before their delivery and their installation on site, is their bulk and / or their weight which does not allow them to pass through certain access openings made in the walls or walls of buildings or to maneuver them easily.
The object of the present invention is to overcome at least one of these disadvantages by proposing a fireproof and fire-extinguishing storage container which essentially allows, in addition to the protection of the container against a fire which is triggered externally and during a presence. prolonged of the latter to heat over a certain temperature, to protect the material contained in its storage space against fire by automatic extinction, in minutes, if any, fire igniting at least one of said equipment. In addition, such a container has the advantage of being delivered in the disassembled state to be easily transportable and able to pass through access openings of any size. If necessary, such a container may also be provided to be removable so that it can be dismounted directly on the site of its installation to allow easy removal and through said access openings of said container.
- a substantially fireproof and airtight wall structure forming, where appropriate with the door unit adapted to be equally airtight, each side,
- a fastening and assembly system, optionally comprising a reinforcement frame, said system enabling said structure and the door block to be fixed and assembled to form said sides,
- air passages each extending through said structure or between two adjacent sides by connecting the internal storage space and the external space,
- air seals each interposed in or against one of said air passages so as to seal them to render almost all or all of the air passages airtight so as to render, with the wall structure, the container, in the closed state, sufficiently airtight to create in the internal storage space a private effect of smothering air and extinguishing automatically, in a few minutes, any fire triggering in said internal space,
- and further intumescent firestop seals each composed of a heat-swelling material, each air passage comprising at least one such intumescent fire-resistant seal.

9a, 9b, (9a or 9b) and 9c, (9a or 9b) and 9d, each extending through said structure or between two adjacent sides, connecting theair passages internal storage space 1 and theouter space 2 of the container, -
air seals 8 each interposed in or applied against one of said air passages so as to seal them to make at least one air passage, that is to say almost all or all air passages, airtight so as to render, in association with the wall structure, the container, in the closed state, sufficiently airtight to create in the internal storage space a privative effect of air, that is to say, depriving oxygen, stifling and extinguishing automatically and quickly, within minutes, any fire triggering in said internal space.
More particularly, it will be understood by container sufficiently airtight to create the effect (of suffocation) deprived of aforementioned air, a container capable of preventing sufficient gas exchange, especially air and more particularly of oxygen, between the
It will be understood that such a container can achieve the aforementioned choking purpose even with a small percentage of air passages, up to about 10% to 20% of the air passages, which are not sealed at all. air, that is to say with almost all the air passages made airtight (about 80 to 100%), without departing from the scope of the present invention. In this case, the fire extinction time by quenching with such a container would be greater than the optimum time with 100% of air passages rendered airtight (about 2 minutes and 30 seconds or less), but still less than at a time of about 5 minutes much lower than the current intervention time of the rescue (about 45 minutes) to extinguish the fire in the current containers. Such a result makes it possible to avoid, in a container according to the present invention, any extended propagation of the fire which is triggered at a given point in the internal storage space. This result also makes it possible to prevent a person located outside the container from being burned by touching the outer wall of the container. in the case of a fire inside the container which, as is the case with existing containers, would remain active for too long, causing its heat to spread into the walls of the container, in particular when These are metallic or made from a heat conductive material.
It will also be understood that, in all

In a third embodiment, not shown, the sealing of each
On the other hand, the
Such

It will be understood that each air passage or gap, preferably each
Such fire-
