Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a refrigerator, and in particular, to a refrigerator having a door.
  • WO2011/134738 discloses a refrigerator door.
  • the refrigerator door includes an outer wall, an inner wall, a side wall, a handle housing having a handle groove, and a heat insulation layer fixed together with these walls and the handle housing.
  • the side wall has a connecting piece, and the connecting piece is, at a position where the handle housing is assembled, inserted in a concave groove corresponding to the handle groove.
  • the handle housing has a connecting protruding edge connected to an inner surface of the side wall.
  • An objective of the present invention is to provide a refrigerator that helps prevent leakage of a foaming material used for forming a heat insulation layer.
  • the refrigerator includes a door, the door including: a door lining, a front wall located in front of the door lining, a side wall, and a housing element, the housing element being connected to the front wall and the side wall, the door lining, the front wall, the side wall, and the housing element being fixed together with a heat insulation layer, and the housing element including a first connecting protruding edge connected to an inner surface of the side wall, characterized in that, the side wall includes a protruding portion protruding from the inner surface of the side wall, and an end of the first connecting protruding edge abuts the protruding portion.
  • a connecting gap between the first connecting protruding edge and the side wall may be blocked by the protruding portion, which helps prevent a foaming agent used for forming a heat insulation layer from leaking from between the first connecting protruding edge and the side wall. Moreover, it is also possible that other foam leakage prevention measures are not necessarily used here. In addition, this helps that the housing element and the front wall are located at accurate mounting positions.
  • the present invention is applicable to various refrigerators having different structures.
  • the present invention is applicable to a side-by-side refrigerator having a first storage compartment and a second storage compartment arranged side by side, is applicable to a refrigerator having a first storage compartment and a second storage compartment arranged vertically, and is further applicable to a refrigerator having a pair of doors that close a same storage compartment.
  • a storage compartment of a refrigerator may be used to store food and/or wine.
  • a refrigerator may have at least one storage compartment merely used for storing wine.
  • the door may be a rotary door pivotally connected to a body of the refrigerator, or may also be a drawer-type door connected to the body in a manner of being able to slide in and out.
  • the door may close one or more storage compartments of the refrigerator, or may also close a part of one or more storage compartments.
  • the front wall is located in front of the door lining.
  • the front wall forms at least a major part of a front surface of the door, that is, the front wall is exposed.
  • the door may further include a decoration board located in front of the front wall.
  • a decoration board may be made of, for example, glass or a glass-type material.
  • the front wall is formed of a single member.
  • the front wall may be formed of one metal sheet.
  • the front wall may also be formed of multiple members. These members may integrally or partially form a corresponding part of the front wall.
  • the front wall and the side wall may be separately fabricated and then assembled on the door.
  • the front wall and the side wall may also be formed of different parts of a single member.
  • the front wall and the side wall are not necessarily connected directly.
  • the front wall and the side wall are connected through the housing element.
  • the front wall and the side wall are directly connected in areas other than an area where the housing element is located.
  • the side wall is a longitudinal side wall, for example, a left wall or a right wall, of the door.
  • the side wall may also be a horizontal side wall, for example, a top wall or a bottom wall, of the door.
  • the protruding portion may be located behind the first connecting protruding edge, and the first connecting protruding edge abuts backwards on the protruding portion. Because a rear side of the housing element may be positioned, a tendency that the housing element moves backwards is eliminated, which helps that the housing element and the front wall are well connected in a front-rear direction. Backwards is referred to from the stand point of an operator standing before the refrigerator which is placed in a usable position, i.e. the door is facing the operator.
  • the protruding portion may protrude inwards at the first connecting protruding edge or be flush with the first connecting protruding edge. Inwards means therefore protruding further into the isolation material than the first connecting protruding edge, that is beyond the first connecting protruding edge.
  • an end of the first connecting protruding edge may have a bending portion bending inwards.
  • a rear surface of the bending portion and a front surface of the protruding portion join. This may increase a connecting surface between the first connecting protruding edge and the protruding portion, which not only helps foam leakage prevention, but also may enhance a positioning effect of the protruding portion on the housing element.
  • the first connecting protruding edge may abut the protruding portion along an entire length of the first connecting protruding edge. Length shall be referred to as the vertical extension of the first connecting protruding edge.
  • the protruding portion may extend in an entire length of the side wall. In a possible embodiment, the protruding portion may be formed on the side wall through extrusion.
  • the protruding portion may form a reinforcing rib of the side wall, which therefore not only increases the strength of the side wall, but also help positioning of the housing element and foam leakage prevention of the door.
  • the door may include a handle groove and/or a user interface appliance module located inside the housing element.
  • the handle groove is located inside the housing element, but the possible embodiment is not limited to whether the handle groove is directly restricted by the housing element.
  • the handle groove may be separately restricted by the housing element, may also be restricted together by the housing element and another member (for example, a handle member) fixed inside the housing element, or is restricted by the handle member fixed inside the housing element.
  • the user interface appliance module may be entirely located inside the housing element, or may also be partially located inside the housing element, or partially located outside the housing element.
