Eine gattungsgemäße Vorrichtung wird von der DE 195 29 268 A1 beschrieben. Gelöst wird die Aufgabe durch die in den Ansprüchen angegebene Erfindung. Zunächst und im Wesentlichen wird vorgeschlagen, dass in eine der beiden Einstecköffnungen eines Schienenverbinders ein Adapterstück einsetzbar ist. Befindet sich kein Adapterstück in der Einstecköffnung, so kann in die Einstecköffnung und in den sich an diese anschließenden Einsteckkanal eine Schiene mit einem großen Querschnitt, insbesondere mit einem rechteckigen Querschnitt, eingesteckt werden. Wird in die Einstecköffnung ein Adapterstück eingesteckt, so lässt sich in den Schienenverbinder eine Schiene mit einem anderen Querschnitt, insbesondere einem rechteckigen Querschnitt mit kleinerer Querschnittsfläche, einstecken. Das Adapterstück reduziert hierzu den freien Öffnungsquerschnitt des Einsteckkanals des Schienenverbindergehäuses zum Einstecken einer Schiene mit einer anderen Querschnittsfläche. Das Adapterstück kann einen Kragen aufweisen. Der Kragen liegt im eingesteckten Zustand auf einem Stirnflächenabschnitt des Schienenverbindergehäuses, dem die Einstecköffnung zugeordnet ist. An den Kragen ist vorzugsweise eine Auskleidung angeformt. Die Auskleidung liegt an Abschnitten der Innenfläche des vom Gehäuse ausgebildeten Einsteckkanales an. Die Auskleidung bildet wiederum einen Einsteckkanal, der dem Adapterstück zugeordnet ist. Das Adapterstück kann einstückig aus Kunststoff gefertigt sein. Das Gehäuse des Schienenverbinders kann ebenfalls aus Kunststoff gefertigt sein. Die Auskleidung kann im Querschnitt U-förmig ausgebildet sein. Die beiden parallel zueinander verlaufenden U-Schenkel können Schmalwände ausbilden, deren Außenseiten sich zumindest bereichsweise an die Schmalseitenflächen der dem Gehäuse zugeordneten Einstecköffnung anlegen. Die beiden Schmalwände können mit einer Breitseitenwand verbunden sein, die den U-Steg ausbildet. Die Breitseitenwand kann eine insbesondere rinnenförmige Auswölbung besitzen. Es sind Rastmittel vorgesehen, mit denen das Adapterstück innerhalb des Einsteckkanals des Gehäuses gehalten werden kann. Hierzu kann eine Rastnase vorgesehen sein, die in eine Rastausnehmung eintaucht. Die Rastnase kann an einer Rastzunge der Breitseitenwand des Adapterstücks angeordnet sein und in eine Rastaussparung eingreifen, die von einem Fenster des Einsteckkanales des Gehäuses ausgebildet ist. Jeder der beiden Verriegelungsbolzen kann durch Betätigen eines Druckknopfes unabhängig vom anderen von einer Verriegelungsstellung in eine Freigabestellung gebracht werden. Der Druccknopf sitzt dabei in einer Gehäuseausnehmung, die sich in einer Breitseitenfläche des Gehäuses befindet. Claims (11)

  1. Device for connecting two clamps each having a rail (1, 2), with a housing (3) which has two insertion openings (6) directed away from one another, each having an adjoining insertion channel (7) for insertion in each case of a rail (2), with one large rectangular cross-section which can be attached to the device by means of a locking position in a release position lock bolt (24), wherein the two insertion channels (7) have corner regions which define a substantially rectangular base cross-section and opposite narrow side surfaces (13) and forming opposite broad side surfaces (11, 12), characterized by at least one adapter piece (4) which can be inserted into one of the insertion openings (6) and which reduces the free opening cross-section of the insertion channel (7) for insertion of a rail (1) with another cross-sectional surface.
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the adapter piece (4) has a lining (5) which adjoins a flange (10), wherein the lining (5) rests at least in some regions against the wall of the insertion channel (7) and in the inserted state forms an insertion channel (9) of reduced cross-section, wherein the flange (10) rests on an end face of the housing (3).
  3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the lining (5) is of U-shaped configuration in cross-section, with narrow walls (17) which extend from a broad side wall (18).
  4. Device according to one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the lining (18) forms a broad side wall (19) which has a bulge (19).
  5. Device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized by a latching device, in particular in the form of a latching lug (20), by which the adapter piece 4 is held in the insertion channel (7), wherein the latching lug (20) projects in particular from a latching spring associated with a broad side wall (18).
  6. Device according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the insertion channel (7) in the housing (3) has two opposing convexities (15, 15'), in particular for entry of a stop (23) disposed on the rail (2).
  7. Device according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the adapter piece (4) forms at least one convexity (21) for entry of a stop (23) disposed on the rail (1).
  8. Device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the insertion opening (6) in the housing (3) and/or the insertion opening (8) of the adapter piece (4) forms a substantially cross-shaped window which is adjoined by the insertion channel (7, 9).
  9. Device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized by a mirror symmetry of the device.
  10. Device according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the two locking bolts (24) enter in each case in a locking opening (22) of a rail (1, 2) being inserted in the housing (3).
  11. Device according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized by a push button (25) which can be displaced against a restoring spring (26) in a housing recess, and which is connected by means of a rod (27) to a support (28) bearing a locking bolt (24) which in a locking position intersects the insertion channel (7) and can be brought out of the insertion channel (7) by pressure on the push button (25).
