Description

    AN OVEN
  • The present invention relates to an oven, the cooking effectiveness of which is increased.
  • The cooking performance of the oven changes with respect to the position of the tray, whereon the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed, in the cooking chamber. The ideal position of the tray varies for different food types and cooking processes. Generally the user decides the position of the tray inside the oven. The cooking process is realized, assuming that the position the tray is placed by the user is the most suitable position. Moreover, the user usually changes the position of the tray during the cooking process in order to increase the cooking quality. This makes the utilization difficult and decreases the cooking performance.
  • In the state of the art International Patent Document No. WO2012062890, it is explained that the position of the cooking tray, wherein the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed, is detected and the operation performance of the oven is regulated according to this position.
  • In the European Patent Document No. EP0792087, a cooking device comprising a movable carrier and a method relating to the control of the said movable carrier are disclosed.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven, the cooking performance of which is improved and the utilization of which is facilitated.
  • The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a cooking chamber, a casing having two opposite side walls that surround the cooking chamber, a heater situated on the cooking chamber, a carrier whereon cooking utensils such as tray, grill, oven accessory, etc., on which the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed, are positioned and a movement mechanism that enables the carrier to be moved upwards/downwards and the position of the cooking utensil to be changed in the cooking chamber. By means of the movement mechanism, the carrier and hence the cooking utensil moves inside the cooking chamber and get close to or away from the heater according to the food type and/or cooking process. The oven comprises a screen situated in front of the heater, a switch that is triggered when the foodstuffs placed onto the cooking utensil hit the screen and apply force during the cooking process and a control unit that stops the movement mechanism when the switch is triggered. For the cooking utensils to take the position predetermined by the producer according to the cooking process and/or food type, the carrier first moves towards the heater. As the foodstuffs to be cooked hit the screen, the switch is triggered with the force applied onto the screen being transmitted to the switch and provides the movement mechanism to be stopped. By means of the screen, the cooking utensil or the foodstuffs on the cooking utensil are positioned so that there is at least a distance as much as the thickness of the screen between the cooking utensil or the foodstuffs on the cooking utensil and the heater. Thus, the foodstuffs are enabled to be cooked without getting burned.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, after the switch is triggered and the movement mechanism stops, the control unit enables the carrier to move by a distance predetermined by the producer and stop with the triggering of the movement mechanism. By taking reference the position where the carrier stops its movement by hitting the screen, the carrier is provided to move by a distance predetermined by the producer in the cooking chamber. Thus, while the cooking efficiency of the oven is increased and foodstuffs with large volumes such as turkey, chicken, etc. can be placed without contacting the heater.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, after the switch is triggered and the movement mechanism stops, the control unit enables the carrier to move by a predetermined distance varying according to different cooking processes or food types with the movement of the movement mechanism. Thus, the user is prevented from performing cooking at a position inappropriate for different cooking processes and different food types, and the cooking performance of the oven is improved.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the screen is produced from a material with high thermal conductivity coefficient. Thus, the screen allows the heat transfer between the cooking chamber and the heater to be realized without heat loss.
  • By means of the oven of the present invention, different foodstuffs types are enabled to be cooked in accordance with cooking requirements. Foodstuffs to be cooked with greater heights are prevented from contacting the heater and getting burned. The cooking performance of the oven is improved while the utilization thereof is facilitated.
  • The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
  • Figure 1 – is the perspective view of an oven.
  • Figure 2 – is the partial perspective view of the casing.
  • The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
    1. Oven
    2. Cooking chamber
    3. Side wall
    4. Casing
    5. Heater
    6. Carrier
    7. Movement mechanism
    8. Screen
    9. Switch
    10. Control unit
  • The oven (1) of the present invention comprises a cooking chamber (2) wherein the cooking utensils (U) containing the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed, a casing (4) in the shape of a box with front side open, surrounding the cooking chamber (2), having two opposite side walls (3), a heater (5) situated at the ceiling or the base of the cooking chamber (2), a carrier (6) whereon the cooking utensil (U) can be placed, and a movement mechanism (7) enabling the carrier (6) to be moved upwards/downwards.
  • The oven (1) furthermore comprises a screen (8) situated in front of the heater (5), a switch (9) that is triggered when the foodstuffs (F) placed onto the cooking utensil (U) hit the screen (8) and apply force during the cooking process and a control unit (10) that stops the movement mechanism (7) when the switch (9) is triggered. The screen (8) forms a barrier between the heater (5) and the foodstuffs (F) to be cooked and prevents the foodstuffs (F) from contacting the heater (5).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, after the switch (9) is triggered and the movement mechanism (7) stops, the control unit (10) enables the carrier (6) to move by a distance (d) predetermined by the producer and stop by means of the movement mechanism (7). After the foodstuffs (F) or the cooking utensil (U) hit the screen (8), the carrier (6) moves by the distance (d) predetermined by the producer with respect to the screen (8). Thus, the level of the carrier (6) and hence the position of the foodstuffs (F) to be cooked in the cooking chamber (2) are adjusted during the cooking process.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, after the switch (9) is triggered and the movement mechanism (7) stops, the control unit (10) enables the carrier (6) to move by the predetermined distance (d) varying according to different cooking processes or food types by means of the movement mechanism (7). As the user selects the desired cooking process or food type to be cooked, the cooking utensil (U) is automatically brought to the position appropriate to the selected cooking process or food type. Thus, ease of utilization is provided and foodstuffs of different types are enabled to be cooked effectively.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the screen (8) is produced from a material with high thermal conductivity coefficient. Thus, the heat emitted from the heater (5) is provided to be transferred to the cooking chamber (2) without any heat loss.
  • By means of the present invention, the cooking utensil (U) is automatically brought to the cooking position appropriate to the cooking program selected by the user or the food type selected by the user, the cooking performance of the oven (1) is improved and ease of utilization is provided.
