Description

  • The invention relates to a passport web for the production of a passport book, a passbook single page or passport double page formed by means of such a web, a corresponding passport book and associated production methods for producing a passport web, a passbook single page or a passport double page.
  • Passports and other identity documents are provided with security elements for security purposes, which make it difficult or even impossible to re-establish the document. For example, watermarks, guilloches, optically variable colors, UV negative pressure, tipping pictures, hologram patches and security threads integrated in the passport paper are used.
  • Due to the high demands on the authenticity of identity documents, there is a need to further increase the security against forgery of such documents and in particular to propose security features that can be easily checked for authenticity even by laymen.
  • This object is solved by the features of the independent claims. Further developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
  • Summary of the invention

  • Under a single-benefit-individual security feature is understood a security feature that is designed differently for different individual benefits. Preferably, at least each individual use of a sheet on another individual-benefit-individual security feature, so that the individual-benefit individual security features for all individual benefits of a bow from each other.   • The security threads are advantageously designed as window or pendulum security threads.   • The individual-benefit-individual markings are advantageously introduced into the passport paper and in particular formed by a watermark, a perforation or a laser etching.   • In a particularly preferred variant of the invention, a paper-film composite has, as substrate, an inner pass-paper web and two outer film layers.
  • All materials used as substrate material for the passport web can have additives which serve as authenticity features.   • The pendulum security thread 30 is embedded in the paper substrate of the passbook sheet 20 so that the negatives writing areas 32 provided with the page number "11" on the front side 20-V and the negative writing areas 34 provided with the page number "12" on the back side 20-R of the sheet 20 are open. As a result, the page numbers belonging to the respective opposite side are only open on the opposite side of the paper and greatly diminish in appearance on the page viewed.
  • Due to the additional substrate-inherent page-specific security features 32, 34 of the security thread 30, the falsification security of the passport book is significantly increased because the registered contribution of individual Security threads for potential counterfeiters represents a high technological hurdle. The registered security threads can also be easily checked for authenticity and affiliation to the respective passport page and can also be designed in such a way that the passbook page becomes unusable through manipulation attempts.
  • The production of a passport web for such passport is now with reference to the FIGS. 2 and 3 explained in more detail.
  • Fig. 2 first shows a round screen 10 of a paper machine, which has several areas for sheets, which are designated for differentiation with capital letters A, B, C, ... Fig. 3 shows a section of a generated with the round screen 10 pass-paper web 40 in the region of the arc E of Fig. 2 in detail.
  • Like from the FIGS. 2 and 3 can be seen, the pass paper web 40 each in the longitudinal direction L and transverse direction Q a plurality of sheets 42, in the embodiment, three sheets in the transverse direction and the number of sheets in the longitudinal direction is limited only by the length of the web 40. The sheets 42 are in turn subdivided in the longitudinal direction L and transverse direction Q in each case into a multiplicity of individual uses 44, the sheets 42 being divided in the exemplary embodiment into only 4 × 3 individual pieces 44. The individual benefits 44 correspond to the passport pages of the passport to be produced.
  • Each individual use 44 contains a single-user-individual identification 46, in the exemplary embodiment a watermark indicating the page number of the page corresponding to the individual use in the passport book. As in Fig. 1 The individual benefits can be shown during or after papermaking with further individual-benefit-individual markings are provided, for example, the page number can be applied again as a printing element 24 or otherwise.
  • The pass-band web 40 is further provided with a plurality of longitudinally extending security threads 50, each of which includes a plurality of individually-use-individual security features 52, which in the embodiment are identified by a negative letter e.g. formed in an aluminum coating of the security thread 50. The individual-benefit individual security features 52 are each assigned to individual benefits 44 and, in the exemplary embodiment, once again indicate the page number of the corresponding single-use page in the passport book.
  • The security threads 50 are registered registered on the paper machine, so that they are arranged in the finished passport web in the register to the individual benefits 44 and the security features 52 come to rest on the respective associated individual utility 44. If the security threads 50 are at least partially embedded in the paper, the security features 52 can also come to lie in the respectively assigned individual utility 44.
  • How out Fig. 3 As can be seen, the repeat of the security threads 50, ie the smallest repeating unit, is not the size of the individual benefits 44, as in conventional designs, but the size of the sheets 42, each containing many individual benefits 44.   • The security threads 50 can be completely embedded in the passport paper, so that the security features 52 can only be seen in transmitted light. In other configurations, the threads 50 may also be incorporated as window threads, so that portions of the thread are exposed in a window and the security features contained are easily recognizable in this area. However, the threads may contain security features both in the window areas and in the embedded areas. As in Fig. 1 As shown, the security threads may also be formed as pendulum security threads that appear alternately on opposite surfaces of a sheet 20. Both window threads and pendulum threads windows can have any shape. Although not currently preferred, the security threads can in principle also run completely on the surface of the passport paper.
  • The security features 52 may be designed not only in the form of negative characters but also as positive characters or as other thread security features. In each case they form an individual-benefit-individual security feature, for example the page number of the assigned passport page. However, other individual-individual information is also possible, such as portraits of famous personalities, buildings, landscapes, typical animals, symbols or ornaments, country-specific texts, such as the respective national anthem, extracts from the constitution, poems or the like.
  • All such information advantageously has a meaningful relationship with markings applied in another way to the passport page. This creates for the viewer a connection between the security features of the security thread and the rest of the passport page, which facilitates the authenticity check and increases the attention and recognition value of the security features.
  • Such a context of meaning can in particular consist in that a security feature of the security thread represents the same motive as a single-user-individual identification of the passport page, wherein the spatial position and / or the size of the displayed motifs may differ. The context of meaning can also consist in the fact that the motifs shown only form parts of the motif that complement each other in an overall motif, or that the motifs shown complement each other in a conclusive overall picture.
  • The individual-use-individual identification can be introduced into the passport paper and formed, for example, by a watermark 26, a perforation or a laser etch. Alternatively or additionally, a single-use-individual identification may also be applied to the passport paper and be designed, for example, as a film application, security printing or the like. For watermarks, both history watermarks and electrotype watermarks are considered.
  • The security threads can by the nature of their construction or the manner of their introduction form a detachment indicator ("Tamper Evident"), in which the security thread can not be removed without destroying the passport side of the composite.
  • The security threads can also be known effects, in particular optically variable effects, a color shift effect, a hologram, micro-optical effects by mirrors, lenses or moth eyes, Moire magnification arrangements, blinds effects, or metal / bimetallic / multi-metal effects exhibit. Other security features, such as negative / positive writing, different font sizes, screens, imaging screens, single or multi-colored fluorescent features or machine-readable features come into consideration for the security threads. Of course, all mentioned security features can be combined.
  • It should be noted that the in Fig. 3 shown page numbers of the passport pages on the passport web 40 serve only for illustration and depending on the number of passport double pages and the usually used for binding the passbook technology adapted page numbers must be provided. Claims (16)

  1. Passport web for producing a passport booklet with passbook pages provided with side-specific security threads, the passport web having a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction and containing at least in the longitudinal direction a plurality of sheets, which in turn each subdivided at least in the longitudinal direction into a plurality of individual benefits which correspond to the passport pages of the passport to be produced, the passport web being provided with at least one longitudinal security thread containing a plurality of individually-individual security features associated with particular individual benefits, and the security thread being registered with the single-use ones is arranged so that the individual-benefit individual security features come to rest on or in the respective associated individual benefits.
  2. Passport paper web according to claim 1, characterized in that the associated individual benefits each contain a single-use individual identification, which stands in a meaningful context with the individual-individual security features, in particular that represent the labeling and the security features each related or complementary information.
  3. Passport paper web according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the pass-paper web is provided for each individual use in the transverse direction with a longitudinally extending security thread.
  4. Passport paper web according to at least one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the security threads are formed as window or pendulum security threads.
  5. Passport paper web according to at least one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the security threads have a repeat in size of the sheets.
  6. Passport paper web according to at least one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the individual-benefit individual security features differ from one another for all individual benefits of a sheet.
  7. Passport web according to at least one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the individual-benefit individual security features indicate the page number of the corresponding individual use page in the passport.
  8. Passport paper web according to at least one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the individual-use individual security features are formed by negative signs in a metal coating of the security thread or by positive signs, in particular by opaque or metallic positive signs on a carrier film of the security thread.
  9. Passport paper web according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the individual-utility-individual markings are incorporated in the passport paper and in particular by a watermark, perforation or laser etching are formed, and / or applied to the passport paper, and in particular are formed by a foil application or a security printing.
  10.
