Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sash and a fitting, and in particular, to a sash and a fitting including three or more planar materials.
- fittings installed in positions dividing the indoor space from the outdoor space have conventionally been provided with a multi-layered planar material composed of a plurality of planar materials.
- a heat-insulating space is formed between glass plates, so that entrance and exit of heat through the planar material portion can be reduced.
- fittings have been provided that use three or more sheets of glass as the planar material of a sash.
- Such fittings have a plurality of layers of heat-insulating spaces interposed between the indoor space and the outdoor space, and thereby have a more marked effect of reducing the entrance and exit of heat through the planar material portion (refer to German Patent Application No. 102009012202 and Japanese Laid-open Patent Publication No. 2002-061459 , for example).
- the planar material of the sash needs to be provided with rail and stile members at four peripheral sides to be supported by an opening frame.
- the rail and stile members are formed of a metal, such as aluminum, or a resin, and are portions that are disposed such as to face both the indoor and the outdoor spaces.
- the rail and stile members could act as heat bridges to affect the heat insulating properties even when multi-layered glass is used as the planar material in a fitting.
- German Patent Application No. 102009012202 and Japanese Laid-open Patent Publication No. 2002-061459 mentioned above also disclose examples in which a glass pane located on the outdoor side covers a thickness-direction-facing surface of the rail and stile members facing the outdoor side.
- heat is transferred between the glass pane and the rail and stile members, so that the glass pane and the rail and stile members result in heat bridges, and thus, the effect is not enough to improve the heat insulating properties.
- the above-described problem can be solved by providing the rail and stile members on a surface located on the indoor side of the planar material.
- providing the rail and stile members on the surface of the planar material that is multi-layered glass results in a significant increase in the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof.
- the rail and stile members located at the head end are often provided with a part, such as a handle or a locking device. This often causes the rail and stile members located at the head end to be set to have a large dimension along the thickness direction thereof, thus being a factor of the increase in the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction.
- a sash including: a first planar material and a second planar material that have rectangular shapes having identical outside dimensions to each other, and are bonded to each other with a heat-insulating space held therebetween by interposing a spacer member between peripheral ends of the first and the second planar materials; and a third planar material that has a rectangular shape having smaller outside dimensions than those of the first planar material, and is bonded to the first planar material with a heat-insulating space held between the third planar material and the first planar material by interposing a spacer member at peripheral ends of the third planar material with an end of at least one side thereof lying on an identical plane to that of the first planar material, wherein rail and stile members are bonded to a surface of the first planar material at peripheral ends where end faces of the first planar material project more than end faces of the third planar material, and a rail or stile member is bonded to a surface of the third planar material at a peripheral end where an end
- the heat-insulating spaces are provided on the surfaces of the rail and stile members, so that entrance and exit of heat through the rail and stile members can be reduced, and thus, the heat insulating properties can be improved.
- rail and stile members are provided on the surface of the first planar material at the peripheral ends where the end faces of the first planar material project more than the end faces of the third planar material, so that the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by a thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials, and hence, the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof can be kept from increasing.
- the first planar material is bonded so that an end face located at a head end thereof projects more than that of the third planar material.
- the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials at least at the head end of the sash.
- the first planar material has a rectangular shape having larger vertical and transverse dimensions than those of the third planar material, and is bonded so that both an end face located at a head end thereof and two end faces adjacent to the head end project more than those of the third planar material.
- the rail and stile members are bonded to the surface of the first planar material at peripheral ends on three sides except the tail end, so that dimensions along the thickness direction at the respective peripheral ends can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials.
- a fitting includes the above-described sash.
- the heat-insulating spaces are provided on the surfaces of the rail and stile members, so that entrance and exit of heat through the rail and stile members can be reduced, and thus, the heat insulating properties can be improved.
- a rail or stile member is provided on the surface of the first planar material at least at the head end of the sash, so that the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials, and hence, the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof can be kept from increasing.

- this fitting can reduce the operating force for sliding the movable sash 30 in order to open or close the inner opening 15 of the opening frame 10.
- housing the operating handle 50 in the housing depression 35c causes each of the tail end slide member 40D, the top slide member 40A, the head end slide member 40C, and the bottom slide member 40B to slide, and, as a result, presses the movable tight materials 150 into contact with the four peripheral sides of the second movable glass plate 312 of the movable sash 30.
- the head 81b of the tail end engaging pin 81 is positioned in the tail end pin engaging hole portion 85b at the tail end orthogonal pulling mechanism 80, and the head 91b of the head end engaging pin 91 is positioned in the head end pin engaging hole portion 92b at the head end orthogonal pulling mechanism 90.
- sliding the movable sash 30 relative to the opening frame 10 in the opening direction thereof causes the head 81b of the tail end engaging pin 81 to engage with the pulling plate 82, and the head 91b of the head end engaging pin 91 to engage with the head end slide member 40C. This can bring the movable sash 30 into a locked state of being restricted from sliding.
- both ends of the guide arm 61 are in the state of abutting on the top guide surfaces 121 of the guide groove 120 through the guide rollers 62, thus not being movable in the thickness direction relative to the top frame member 11.
- moving the guide member 60 toward the indoor side relative to the movable top rail 32 causes the movable top rail 32 to move toward the outdoor side relative to the top frame member 11.
- the tip of the pulling member 72 moves toward the indoor side around one of the slide screws 73 serving as an axial center of the pulling member 72, as illustrated from FIG. 20A to FIG. 20B .
- no external force acts on the movable sash 30, so that the movable sash 30 does not move relative to the opening frame 10.
- the pulling member 72 is prevented from rotating toward the indoor side after the abutting piece 75 has abutted against the pulling abutment surface 103 of the guide rail 100.
- Moving the operating handle 50 in the direction of projecting from the housing depression 35c moves the movable rails and stiles 32, 33, 34, and 35 of the movable sash 30 toward the indoor side, thus bringing the movable tight materials 150 into the state of being apart from the second movable glass plate 312.
- Moving the operating handle 50 also positions the tail end engaging pin 81 in the tail end pin insertion hole portion 85a of the tail end cam hole 85 formed in the pulling plate 82, and positions the head end engaging pin 91 in the head end pin insertion hole portion 92a of the head end cam hole 92 formed in the head end slide member 40C. This enables sliding of the movable sash 30 without applying a large operating force.
- the movement of the movable sash 30 toward the outdoor side relative to the opening frame 10 causes a reaction force thereof to be applied to the respective slide members 40, the guide member 60, and the sash rollers 36.
- the cover members 318 are provided at places located on the outdoor sides of the top, the bottom, and the head end slide members 40A, 40B, and 40C. As a result, the cover members 318 prevent the top, the bottom, and the head end slide members 40A, 40B, and 40C from moving toward the outdoor side.
- the slide rollers 84 are provided on the pulling plate 82 connected to the tail end slide member 40D, and abut on the slide plate 86 provided on the movable tail end stile 35.
- the pulling plate 82, the slide rollers 84, and the slide plate 86 cooperate to prevent the tail end slide member 40D from moving toward the outdoor side.
- the movement of the movable sash 30 toward the outdoor side does not cause a problem such as the slide members 40 being pressed into contact with the slide grooves 32b, 33b, 34b, and 35b, and the operating handle 50 can be operated without requiring a large operating force.
- the guide member 60 is made such that both ends of the guide arm 61 are provided with the two respective guide rollers 62, which in turn abut on the respective top guide surfaces 121 of the guide groove 120 provided on the top frame member 11. This allows the guide member 60 to resist the above-mentioned reaction force without causing a problem in the sliding of the movable sash 30. Furthermore, the sash rollers 36 are directly supported by the movable bottom rail 33, and the guide rail 100 having the inclined surfaces 102 is used. As a result, the sash rollers 36 and the movable sash 30 move toward the outdoor side while slightly moving upward along one of the inclined surfaces 102, and hence need not resist the above-mentioned reaction force. This allows the movable sash 30 to smoothly slide without causing a problem of applying a large reaction force to axles of the sash rollers 36.
- the fixed multi-layered planar material 21 having the two layers of heat-insulating spaces 215 and 217 is used in the fixed sash 20
- the movable multi-layered planar material 31 having the two layers of heat-insulating spaces 315 and 317 is used in the movable sash 30.

- the heat-insulating spaces 215 and 315 lie between the second glass plates 212 and 312, respectively, and the thickness-direction-facing surfaces. This prevents the head end stiles 24 and 34, the top rails 22 and 32, and the bottom rails 23 and 24 from acting as heat bridges between the outdoor space and the indoor space, which is very advantageous in terms of the heat insulating properties.
- the third glass plates 213 and 313 located on the indoor side are formed to have smaller vertical and transverse dimensions than those of the first glass plates 211 and 311. This can prevent a problem of increase in the dimension in the thickness direction when the first glass plates 211 and 311 and the second glass plates 212 and 312 cover the thickness-direction-facing surfaces on the outdoor side.
- the meeting part cover member 221 is provided at the outer peripheral end of the fixed tail end stile 25 so as to cover the end face of the fixed tail end stile 25 and the end faces of the three fixed glass plates 211, 212, and 213, the meeting part cover member 221 is unlikely to act as a heat bridge to impair the heat insulating properties because the movable tail end stile 35 of the movable sash 30 is disposed on the indoor side.
- the movable tail end stile 35 While a stile having a portion covering the end faces of the three movable glass plates 311, 312, and 313 is used as the movable tail end stile 35, the movable tail end stile 35 is unlikely to act as a heat bridge to impair the heat insulating properties because the fixed tail end stile 25 of the fixed sash 20 is disposed on the outdoor side.
- the present invention is not limited to this, but can configure the fitting to serve as a hinged window, as represented, for example, in a modification illustrated in FIGS. 25 and 26 .
- the hinged window includes a sash 420 similar to the fixed sash 20 used in the embodiment, by supporting a tail end stile 425 on a vertical frame member 414 of an opening frame 410 with a hinge 450, and by providing a handle 451 for opening and closing the window on the thickness-direction-facing surface of a head end stile 424 facing the indoor side.
- a multi-layered planar material 421 includes a first glass plate 4211, a second glass plate 4212, and a third glass plate 4213.

Abstract
Description
- The present application claims priority to and incorporates by reference the entire contents of Japanese Patent Application No.
2014-055455 - The present invention relates to a sash and a fitting, and in particular, to a sash and a fitting including three or more planar materials.
- In order to improve heat insulating properties between the indoor space and the outdoor space, fittings installed in positions dividing the indoor space from the outdoor space have conventionally been provided with a multi-layered planar material composed of a plurality of planar materials. In this type of fittings, a heat-insulating space is formed between glass plates, so that entrance and exit of heat through the planar material portion can be reduced. Recently, to further improve the heat insulating properties, fittings have been provided that use three or more sheets of glass as the planar material of a sash. Such fittings have a plurality of layers of heat-insulating spaces interposed between the indoor space and the outdoor space, and thereby have a more marked effect of reducing the entrance and exit of heat through the planar material portion (refer to German Patent Application No.
102009012202 and Japanese Laid-open Patent Publication No.2002-061459 - The planar material of the sash needs to be provided with rail and stile members at four peripheral sides to be supported by an opening frame. The rail and stile members are formed of a metal, such as aluminum, or a resin, and are portions that are disposed such as to face both the indoor and the outdoor spaces. As a result, the rail and stile members could act as heat bridges to affect the heat insulating properties even when multi-layered glass is used as the planar material in a fitting. German Patent Application No.
102009012202 and Japanese Laid-open Patent Publication No.2002-061459 - The above-described problem can be solved by providing the rail and stile members on a surface located on the indoor side of the planar material. However, providing the rail and stile members on the surface of the planar material that is multi-layered glass results in a significant increase in the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof. In particular, the rail and stile members located at the head end are often provided with a part, such as a handle or a locking device. This often causes the rail and stile members located at the head end to be set to have a large dimension along the thickness direction thereof, thus being a factor of the increase in the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction.
- It is an object of the present invention to provide a sash and a fitting that can further improve the heat insulating properties without greatly increasing the dimensions of the sash and the fitting along the thickness direction thereof.
- According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a sash including: a first planar material and a second planar material that have rectangular shapes having identical outside dimensions to each other, and are bonded to each other with a heat-insulating space held therebetween by interposing a spacer member between peripheral ends of the first and the second planar materials; and a third planar material that has a rectangular shape having smaller outside dimensions than those of the first planar material, and is bonded to the first planar material with a heat-insulating space held between the third planar material and the first planar material by interposing a spacer member at peripheral ends of the third planar material with an end of at least one side thereof lying on an identical plane to that of the first planar material, wherein rail and stile members are bonded to a surface of the first planar material at peripheral ends where end faces of the first planar material project more than end faces of the third planar material, and a rail or stile member is bonded to a surface of the third planar material at a peripheral end where an end face of the first planar material aligns with an end face of the third planar material.
- According to this aspect of the present invention, the heat-insulating spaces are provided on the surfaces of the rail and stile members, so that entrance and exit of heat through the rail and stile members can be reduced, and thus, the heat insulating properties can be improved. In addition, rail and stile members are provided on the surface of the first planar material at the peripheral ends where the end faces of the first planar material project more than the end faces of the third planar material, so that the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by a thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials, and hence, the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof can be kept from increasing.
- According to another aspect of the present invention, in the above-described sash, the first planar material is bonded so that an end face located at a head end thereof projects more than that of the third planar material.
- According to this aspect of the present invention, the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials at least at the head end of the sash.
- According to still another aspect of the present invention, in the above-described sash, the first planar material has a rectangular shape having larger vertical and transverse dimensions than those of the third planar material, and is bonded so that both an end face located at a head end thereof and two end faces adjacent to the head end project more than those of the third planar material.
- According to this aspect of the present invention, the rail and stile members are bonded to the surface of the first planar material at peripheral ends on three sides except the tail end, so that dimensions along the thickness direction at the respective peripheral ends can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials.
- According to yet another aspect of the present invention, a fitting includes the above-described sash.
- According also to this aspect of the present invention, the heat-insulating spaces are provided on the surfaces of the rail and stile members, so that entrance and exit of heat through the rail and stile members can be reduced, and thus, the heat insulating properties can be improved. In addition, a rail or stile member is provided on the surface of the first planar material at least at the head end of the sash, so that the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by the thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials, and hence, the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof can be kept from increasing.
- The above and other objects, features, advantages and technical and industrial significance of this invention will be better understood by reading the following detailed description of presently preferred embodiments of the invention, when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 8 , the operatinghandle 50 is rotatably installed in ahousing depression 35c provided on the tail end face of the movabletail end stile 35, and can move from a state of being housed in thehousing depression 35c of the movabletail end stile 35, as indicated by a solid line inFIG. 8 , to a state of projecting from thehousing depression 35c of the movabletail end stile 35, as indicated inFIG. 1 and by chain double-dashed lines inFIG. 8 . The operatinghandle 50 is linked to the tailend slide member 40D provided at the movabletail end stile 35, and can slide all theslide members 40 via the tailend slide member 40D by being operated so as to rotate around the shaft center of asupport shaft 51. The present embodiment is configured such that operating the operatinghandle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c causes the tailend slide member 40D to slide upward, which in turn causes thetop slide member 40A to slide toward the head end, the headend slide member 40C to slide downward, and thebottom slide member 40B to slide toward the tail end. In contrast, operating the operatinghandle 50 in the direction of projecting it from thehousing depression 35c causes the tailend slide member 40D to slide downward, which in turn causes thetop slide member 40A to slide toward the tail end, the headend slide member 40C to slide upward, and thebottom slide member 40B to slide toward the head end. - While not explicitly illustrated in
FIG. 8 , an urging unit that urges the operatinghandle 50 toward the state of projecting from thehousing depression 35c is interposed between the operatinghandle 50 and the movabletail end stile 35. Housing the operatinghandle 50 in thehousing depression 35c against an urging force of the urging unit (not illustrated) can engage the operating handle 50 with alatch 52 provided in thehousing depression 35c so as to place the operatinghandle 50 in the state of being housed in thehousing depression 35c. Releasing thelatch 52 causes the urging force of the urging unit (not illustrated) to project the operating handle 50 from thehousing depression 35c to place the operatinghandle 50 in an operable state. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 5 ,9 , and10 , aguide member 60 is provided at a place located approximately at the longitudinal center of the movabletop rail 32 on themovable sash 30. Theguide arm 61 has asupport pin 63 in a position located approximately at the longitudinal center thereof, and is rotatably supported at the tip of asupport arm 64 via thesupport pin 63. Thesupport arm 64 is a long sheet member provided in a space surrounded by thebase 41 and the pair ofribs 42 of thetop slide member 40A in theslide groove 32b formed on the movabletop rail 32, and is supported, via the base end thereof, on the upper surface of the movabletop rail 32 by a mountingscrew 65. Thesupport arm 64 is formed to have a smaller width than the interdistance between the pair ofribs 42, and the tip thereof can move between the pair ofribs 42 around the mountingscrew 65 serving as an axial center of the tip. - The
guide arm 61 is supported at the tip of thesupport arm 64 in a state of being exposed out of thetop slide member 40A by inserting thesupport pin 63 through anupper cam hole 43 formed in thebase 41 of thetop slide member 40A. Theupper cam hole 43 includes twopositioning hole portions top slide member 40A and a connectinghole portion 43c that connects thepositioning hole portions positioning hole portions hole portion 43c are formed to have a width approximately equal to the outside diameter of thesupport pin 63. As illustrated inFIG. 9 , the twopositioning hole portions movable sash 30, and the connectinghole portion 43c is formed in a slanting manner relative to the longitudinal direction of thetop slide member 40A so as to connect ends of the twopositioning hole portions top slide member 40A along the longitudinal direction of the movabletop rail 32 changes the position of thesupport pin 63 between the twopositioning hole portions upper cam hole 43. This moves theguide arm 61 supported at the tip of thesupport arm 64 via thesupport pin 63 between a position nearer to the secondmovable glass plate 312 of the movable multi-layeredplanar material 31 and a position nearer to the thirdmovable glass plate 313 of the movable multi-layeredplanar material 31. In the present embodiment, as illustrated inFIG. 9 , theupper cam hole 43 is formed such that thepositioning hole portion 43a located on the head end side of thetop slide member 40A is positioned nearer to the secondmovable glass plate 312 of the movable multi-layeredplanar material 31 than thepositioning hole portion 43b located on the tail end side of thetop slide member 40A, and thereby, moving thetop slide member 40A toward the head end moves theguide arm 61 nearer to the thirdmovable glass plate 313 of the movable multi-layeredplanar material 31 with respect to themovable sash 30. - The
guide rollers 62 are provided at both ends of theguide arm 61 in a state in which the circumferential surface of each of theguide rollers 62 projects from theguide arm 61, with aroller shaft 62a interposed between theguide roller 62 and theguide arm 61. Each of theguide rollers 62 can rotate around theroller shaft 62a disposed parallel to thesupport pin 63. - An end of the
guide arm 61 is linked to an end of a regulatingarm 66. As illustrated inFIGS. 11 and 12 , the regulatingarm 66 is rotatably supported, via the base end thereof, at the tip of anoperating arm 67. Theoperating arm 67 is a long member provided on the upper surface of the movabletop rail 32, and is supported on the upper surface of the movabletop rail 32 via two slidingguides 68 so as to be slidable only along the longitudinal direction of the movabletop rail 32. Theoperating arm 67 is formed long enough so that the base end thereof can be projecting from the head end surface of the movablehead end stile 34 by sliding theoperating arm 67 toward the head end. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 9 and11 , when theoperating arm 67 slides toward the tail end, the regulatingarm 66 functions to rotate theguide arm 61 so that theguide arm 61 becomes approximately orthogonal to thetop slide member 40A and is placed in an attitude (projecting attitude) in which both ends of theguide arm 61 project from the respective thickness-direction-facing surfaces of themovable sash 30. In this state, the base end surface of theoperating arm 67 approximately coincides with the head end surface of the movablehead end stile 34, and both ends of theguide arm 61 can be kept projecting from the thickness-direction-facing surfaces of themovable sash 30 by locking the base end of theoperating arm 67 on a lockingmember 69 provided at the top end of the movablehead end stile 34. - When the locking state between the base end of the
operating arm 67 and the lockingmember 69 is released and theoperating arm 67 slides toward the head end as illustrated inFIGS. 12 and13 , theguide arm 61 rotates so that the joint between theguide arm 61 and the regulatingarm 66 is pulled toward theoperating arm 67. When theoperating arm 67 has slid until the base end projects from the head end surface of the movablehead end stile 34 as illustrated inFIG. 12 , theguide arm 61 and the pair ofguide rollers 62 are placed in an attitude (retracted attitude) in which both theguide arm 61 and the pair ofguide rollers 62 are disposed within a width along the thickness direction of themovable sash 30, as illustrated inFIGS. 13 and 14 . - As illustrated in
FIGS. 17 to 19 , themovable bottom rail 33 of themovable sash 30 is provided with a pullingmechanism 70. The pullingmechanism 70 includes abase block 71 and a pullingmember 72. Thebase block 71 is installed in ahousing cutout 33c formed on the lower surface of themovable bottom rail 33. Thehousing cutout 33c is formed so as to communicate with theslide groove 33b formed on themovable bottom rail 33. Thebase block 71 is connected to thebottom slide member 40B, and is supported so as to be slidable along the longitudinal direction of themovable bottom rail 33 by screwing slide screws 73 into themovable bottom rail 33 through respectiveelongated holes 71a formed at both ends of thebase block 71. The pullingmember 72 is a flat plate-like member provided on the lower surface of thebase block 71, and is fastened, through the base end thereof, together with thebase block 71 by one of the slide screws 73 that is screwed on the tail end side of themovable bottom rail 33. The pullingmember 72 is provided with alower cam hole 74 and an abuttingpiece 75. As illustrated inFIGS. 20A to 20D , thelower cam hole 74 approximately linearly extends from the base end side toward the tip side of the pullingmember 72, then slopes in a direction gradually departing from thebottom slide member 40B, and further, approximately linearly extends toward the tip. Acam pin 76 extends through thelower cam hole 74. Thecam pin 76 is a cylindrical member provided at thebase block 71, and is formed to have an outside diameter that can be slidably inserted in thelower cam hole 74. As illustrated in FIGS. - 5 and 6, the abutting
piece 75 is a flat plate portion that projects downward from an end of the tip of the pullingmember 72 nearer to themovable glass plate 311. As understood fromFIGS. 5 and6 , the abuttingpiece 75 is formed so that the position of the projecting lower end face thereof projects slightly below the lower peripheral surface of thesash rollers 36. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 18 and20A , when thebase block 71 lies nearest to the head end, the pullingmember 72 is disposed such that thecam pin 76 is positioned on the tip side of thelower cam hole 74, and the abuttingpiece 75 is disposed in a state of abutting on acover member 318 of the firstmovable glass plate 311. From this state, as illustrated inFIGS. 19 and20B to 20D , sliding thebase block 71 toward the tail end gradually moves thecam pin 76 toward the base end of the pullingmember 72 relative to thelower cam hole 74, which in turn rotates the pullingmember 72 around one of the slide screws 73 serving as an axial center of the pullingmember 72, and moves the tip of the pullingmember 72 along the thickness direction of themovable bottom rail 33 in a direction departing from thecover member 318 of the firstmovable glass plate 311. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 2 and5 , theopening frame 10 that slidably supports themovable sash 30 is provided with aguide rail 100 and aslide housing groove 110 on thebottom frame member 12, and provided with aguide groove 120 and ahousing portion 130 on thetop frame member 11. - The
guide rail 100 is a long member provided on the upper surface of thebottom frame member 12 along the longitudinal direction of thebottom frame member 12, and has abottom guide surface 101 on the upper surface thereof. Thebottom guide surface 101 is a flat surface along the upper surface of thebottom frame member 12, and is formed wide enough so that thesash rollers 36 can be placed thereon. Both side portions of thebottom guide surface 101 are provided withinclined surfaces 102 that are mildly inclined upward in a gradual manner. Theinclined surfaces 102 function so that thesash rollers 36 of themovable sash 30 abut on thebottom guide surface 101. A pullingabutment surface 103 for abutting against the abuttingpiece 75 of the pullingmember 72 is formed on a portion located on the outdoor side of theguide rail 100. - The
slide housing groove 110 is a depression formed at a place on the upper surface of thebottom frame member 12 on the outdoor side of theguide rail 100, and is formed along the longitudinal direction of thebottom frame member 12. Theslide housing groove 110 is used for avoiding the end of the firstmovable glass plate 311 and the end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 that project below themovable bottom rail 33 from interfering with thebottom frame member 12 when thesash rollers 36 of themovable sash 30 are placed on thebottom guide surface 101 of theguide rail 100. Theslide housing groove 110 is formed to have a larger width than the dimension along the thickness direction of the first and the secondmovable glass plates - The
guide groove 120 is a depression formed on the lower surface of thetop frame member 11 along the longitudinal direction of thetop frame member 11, and has a pair oftop guide surfaces 121 along the sash width direction. The top guide surfaces 121 are formed to have a space therebetween that allows the circumferential surfaces of theguide rollers 62 provided at the respective ends of theguide arm 61 of theguide member 60 to abut on thetop guide surfaces 121 when theguide arm 61 is placed in the projecting attitude. - The
housing portion 130 is a depression formed in the upper surface of theguide groove 120. Thehousing portion 130 is formed to have a size that can accommodate the two slidingguides 68, the regulatingarm 66, and theoperating arm 67 together with theguide arm 61 and theguide rollers 62 only when theguide arm 61 and theguide rollers 62 of theguide member 60 are placed in the retracted attitude. - A head
end housing groove 140 is formed in the thickness direction surface of the head endvertical frame 14 of theopening frame 10. The headend housing groove 140 is a depression formed along the longitudinal direction of the head endvertical frame 14, and is formed wide enough to be capable of accommodating the head end of themovable sash 30. A side face located on the outdoor side of the headend housing groove 140 is located on the same plane as that of a thickness-direction-facing surface facing the indoor side on the fixedtail end stile 25 of the fixedsash 20. - To support the
movable sash 30 on theopening frame 10 configured as described above, theoperating arm 67 is first slid toward the head end, and theoperating handle 50 is kept projecting from thehousing depression 35c. In this state, theguide member 60 is kept in the retracted attitude, so that the movabletop rail 32 can be accommodated in theguide groove 120 of thetop frame member 11, and theguide member 60 can be accommodated in thehousing portion 130. The abuttingpiece 75 of the pullingmember 72 is placed in the state of abutting on thecover member 318 of the firstmovable glass plate 311, so that the first and the secondmovable glass plates movable sash 30 can be easily accommodated in theslide housing groove 110 of thebottom frame member 12. - From this state, the movable
top rail 32 of themovable sash 30 is first disposed in theguide groove 120 of thetop frame member 11, and then, themovable sash 30 is moved up while keeping the state in which theguide member 60 in the retracted attitude is housed in thehousing portion 130. Thereafter, themovable sash 30 is moved so that themovable bottom rail 33 comes close to thebottom frame member 12; the end of the firstmovable glass plate 311 and the end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 are positioned to face theslide housing groove 110, and thesash rollers 36 provided at themovable bottom rail 33 are positioned to face thebottom guide surface 101 of theguide rail 100; and themovable sash 30 is moved downward to place thesash rollers 36 on thebottom guide surface 101. Lastly, theoperating arm 67 projecting from the head end only needs to be slid toward the tail end to lock the base end of theoperating arm 67 on the lockingmember 69 of the movablehead end stile 34. - In this state, the
guide arm 61 of theguide member 60 provided at the movabletop rail 32 is in the projecting attitude. As a result, theguide rollers 62 abut on respective guide surfaces of theguide groove 120 provided on thetop frame member 11, so that the movabletop rail 32 is supported on thetop frame member 11 so as to be slidable along the longitudinal direction thereof. Thesash rollers 36 provided at themovable bottom rail 33 abut on thebottom guide surface 101 of theguide rail 100 provided on thebottom frame member 12, so that themovable bottom rail 33 is supported on thebottom frame member 12 so as to be slidable along the longitudinal direction thereof. As a result, as illustrated inFIGS. 2 and3 , theinner opening 15 of theopening frame 10 can be opened and closed by sliding themovable sash 30 relative to theopening frame 10. - Closing the
movable sash 30 relative to theopening frame 10 arranges the fixedtail end stile 25 of the fixedsash 20 and the movabletail end stile 35 of themovable sash 30 side by side along the thickness direction, as illustrated inFIG. 2 . At this time, in the fitting, the fixedside facing surface 25a provided on the fixedtail end stile 25 and the movableside facing surface 35a provided on the movabletail end stile 35 are arranged facing each other in close positions with a gap held between the surfaces. - As understood from
FIGS. 2 and5 , movabletight materials 150 are provided at portions on thetop frame member 11, thebottom frame member 12, and the head endvertical frame 14 that face peripheral ends of the secondmovable glass plate 312 when themovable sash 30 is closed, and a movabletight material 150 is provided at a portion on the fixedtail end stile 25 of the fixedsash 20 that faces a peripheral end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 when themovable sash 30 is closed. When the operatinghandle 50 is projecting from thehousing depression 35c, each of these movabletight materials 150 are disposed in a state of being apart from the surface of the secondmovable glass plate 312. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 2 ,3 ,21 and 22 , a tail end orthogonal pullingmechanism 80 provided between the fixedtail end stile 25 and the movabletail end stile 35 includes a tailend engaging pin 81 on the fixedtail end stile 25 and a pullingplate 82 on the movabletail end stile 35. As illustrated inFIG. 3 , the tailend engaging pin 81 has ahead 81b having a larger outside diameter at the tip of ashank 81a having a cylindrical shape, and is installed in a projecting manner from the fixedside facing surface 25a of the fixedtail end stile 25 through theshank 81a. Theshank 81a of the tailend engaging pin 81 is provided with acollar member 83 so as to cover the outer circumference of theshank 81a. As illustrated inFIGS. 2 and3 , thehead 81b of the tailend engaging pin 81 is provided so as to be offset from theshank 81a toward the indoor side, so that only a portion located on the indoor side of the circumferential surface of thecollar member 83 projects in a radial direction. While not explicitly illustrated in either ofFIGS. 2 and3 , the tailend engaging pin 81 is provided in two positions at an upper portion and a lower portion of the fixedtail end stile 25. As illustrated inFIG. 2 , theshank 81a of the tailend engaging pin 81 is formed to have a larger length than that of the gap held between the fixedside facing surface 25a and the movableside facing surface 35a of the movabletail end stile 35 that faces the fixedside facing surface 25a when themovable sash 30 is closed. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 2 ,3 ,21 and 22 , the pullingplate 82 is a sheet-like member provided so as to project from aplate housing groove 35d of the movabletail end stile 35 and so as to cover the movableside facing surface 35a of the movabletail end stile 35. While not explicitly illustrated in any ofFIGS. 2 ,3 ,21 and 22 , the pullingplate 82 is provided in two positions at an upper portion and a lower portion corresponding to the tailend engaging pins 81 of the fixedtail end stile 25. Theplate housing groove 35d is an opening formed so as to communicate with theslide groove 35b from each thickness-direction-facing surface in the movabletail end stile 35 facing the fixedtail end stile 25. Each of the pullingplates 82 is connected, at the base end thereof, to the tailend slide member 40D, and moves up and down relative to the movabletail end stile 35 by being coupled with the sliding of the tailend slide member 40D. - Each of the pulling
plates 82 is provided with a pair ofslide rollers 84 and a tailend cam hole 85. Theslide rollers 84 are provided at upper and lower portions of a part of the pullingplate 82 located in theplate housing groove 35d, and can each rotate around the shaft center orthogonal to the movableside facing surface 35a. Theslide rollers 84 abut, at respective circumferential surfaces thereof, on aslide plate 86 provided so as to cover theplate housing groove 35d, and thereby restrict the pullingplate 82 and the tailend slide member 40D from moving toward the outdoor side relative to the movabletail end stile 35. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 21 and 22 , the tailend cam hole 85 is a special-shaped hole formed at a portion of the pullingplate 82 projecting from theplate housing groove 35d, and has a tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a at an upper part and a tail end pin engaginghole portion 85b at a lower part thereof. The tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a is an opening formed to have a width that allows thehead 81b of the tailend engaging pin 81 provided on the fixedtail end stile 25 to be inserted therethrough. The tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a is formed at a position that faces the tailend engaging pin 81 of the fixedtail end stile 25 when the tailend slide member 40D has moved down by projecting the operating handle 50 from thehousing depression 35c. The tail end pin engaginghole portion 85b is an opening formed to have a width that allows thecollar member 83 of the tailend engaging pin 81 to be inserted, and prevents thehead 81b from being inserted therethrough. A tail end inclinedguide surface 85c is provided at a portion located between the tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a and the tail end pin engaginghole portion 85b on an inner wall surface located on the outdoor side of the tailend cam hole 85. The tail end inclinedguide surface 85c is inclined gradually toward the outdoor side as the position thereof shifts from the tail end pin engaginghole portion 85b toward the tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a. A portion on a movable facing surface of the movabletail end stile 35 facing the tailend engaging pin 81 is provided with atail end depression 35e for accommodating the head 81b of the tailend engaging pin 81 when themovable sash 30 is closed. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 2 ,3 ,23, and 24 , a head end orthogonal pullingmechanism 90 provided between the head endvertical frame 14 and the movablehead end stile 34 includes a headend engaging pin 91 at a place in the headend housing groove 140 of the head endvertical frame 14 facing the headend slide member 40C, and has a headend cam hole 92 at the headend slide member 40C of the movablehead end stile 34. In the same manner as the tailend engaging pin 81, the headend engaging pin 91 includes acollar member 93 on the outer circumference of ashank 91a having a cylindrical shape, and has ahead 91b having a larger outside diameter at the tip of theshank 91a in a position offset therefrom toward the indoor side. Such headend engaging pins 91 are installed in a projecting manner from an upper portion and a lower portion of the headend housing groove 140 through theshank 91a. As illustrated inFIG. 2 , theshank 91a of the headend engaging pin 91 is formed to have a larger length than that of the gap held between the thickness direction surface of the headend housing groove 140 and the head end surface of the movablehead end stile 34 when themovable sash 30 is closed. - As illustrated in
FIGS. 23 and 24 , the headend cam hole 92 is a special-shaped hole formed in the headend slide member 40C, and has a head end pininsertion hole portion 92a at a lower part and a head end pin engaginghole portion 92b at an upper part thereof. The head end pininsertion hole portion 92a is an opening formed to have a width that allows thehead 91b of the headend engaging pin 91 provided on the head endvertical frame 14 to be inserted therethrough. The head end pininsertion hole portion 92a is formed at a position that faces the headend engaging pin 91 of the head endvertical frame 14 when the headend slide member 40C has moved up by projecting the operating handle 50 from thehousing depression 35c. The head end pininsertion hole portion 92a is an opening formed to have a width that allows thecollar member 93 of the headend engaging pin 91 to be inserted, and prevents thehead 91b from being inserted therethrough. A head end inclinedguide surface 92c is provided at a portion located between the head end pininsertion hole portion 92a and the head end pin engaginghole portion 92b on an inner wall surface located on the outdoor side of the headend cam hole 92. The head end inclinedguide surface 92c is inclined gradually toward the outdoor side as the position thereof shifts from the head end pin engaginghole portion 92b toward the head end pininsertion hole portion 92a. A portion on the head end surface of the movabletail end stile 34 facing the headend engaging pin 91 is provided with ahead end depression 34e for accommodating the head 91b of the headend engaging pin 91 when themovable sash 30 is closed. At portions above and below the headend cam hole 92 in the headend slide member 40C,elongated holes 45 are formed along the longitudinal direction of the headend slide member 40C, and guidescrews 44 are screwed in the respectiveelongated holes 45. The guide screws 44 are used for preventing the headend slide member 40C from moving in the thickness direction of the movablehead end stile 34. - As described above, while the
operating handle 50 is projecting from thehousing depression 35c, the movabletight materials 150 provided on the top and thebottom frame members vertical frame 14 and the movabletight material 150 provided on the fixedtail end stile 25 of the fixedsash 20 are all apart from the secondmovable glass plate 312 of themovable sash 30, as illustrated inFIGS. 2 and5 . As a result, this fitting can reduce the operating force for sliding themovable sash 30 in order to open or close theinner opening 15 of theopening frame 10. - While the
movable sash 30 is closed, housing the operatinghandle 50 in thehousing depression 35c causes each of the tailend slide member 40D, thetop slide member 40A, the headend slide member 40C, and thebottom slide member 40B to slide, and, as a result, presses the movabletight materials 150 into contact with the four peripheral sides of the secondmovable glass plate 312 of themovable sash 30. - Specifically, operating the operating
handle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c causes the tailend slide member 40D to slide upward, and thereby brings the tail end orthogonal pullingmechanism 80 from the state illustrated inFIG. 21 into the state illustrated inFIG. 22 ; thus, thecollar member 83 of the tailend engaging pin 81 abuts on the tail end inclinedguide surface 85c, whereby the movabletail end stile 35 moves toward the outdoor side relative to theopening frame 10. This brings the movabletight material 150 provided on the fixedtail end stile 25 into the state of being pressed into contact with the peripheral end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 located on the tail end side thereof, as illustrated inFIG. 4 . - In the same manner, operating the operating
handle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c causes the headend slide member 40C to slide downward, and thereby brings the head end orthogonal pullingmechanism 90 from the state illustrated inFIG. 23 into the state illustrated inFIG. 24 ; thus, thecollar member 93 of the headend engaging pin 91 abuts on the head end inclinedguide surface 92c, whereby the movablehead end stile 34 moves toward the outdoor side relative to theopening frame 10. This brings the movabletight material 150 provided on the head endvertical frame 14 into the state of being pressed into contact with the peripheral end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 located on the head end side thereof, as illustrated inFIG. 4 . - In addition, while the
operating handle 50 is housed in thehousing depression 35c, thehead 81b of the tailend engaging pin 81 is positioned in the tail end pin engaginghole portion 85b at the tail end orthogonal pullingmechanism 80, and thehead 91b of the headend engaging pin 91 is positioned in the head end pin engaginghole portion 92b at the head end orthogonal pullingmechanism 90. As a result, sliding themovable sash 30 relative to theopening frame 10 in the opening direction thereof causes thehead 81b of the tailend engaging pin 81 to engage with the pullingplate 82, and thehead 91b of the headend engaging pin 91 to engage with the headend slide member 40C. This can bring themovable sash 30 into a locked state of being restricted from sliding. - Moreover, operating the operating
handle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c causes thetop slide member 40A to slide toward the head end, and thereby brings the relation between movabletop rail 32 and thetop frame member 11 from the state illustrated inFIG. 15 into the state illustrated inFIG. 16 ; thus, theguide member 60 moves toward the indoor side relative to the movabletop rail 32. - In the
guide member 60 of the movabletop rail 32, both ends of theguide arm 61 are in the state of abutting on the top guide surfaces 121 of theguide groove 120 through theguide rollers 62, thus not being movable in the thickness direction relative to thetop frame member 11. As a result, moving theguide member 60 toward the indoor side relative to the movabletop rail 32 causes the movabletop rail 32 to move toward the outdoor side relative to thetop frame member 11. This brings the movabletight material 150 provided on thetop frame member 11 into the state of being pressed into contact with the peripheral end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 located at the top thereof, as illustrated inFIG. 6 . - Furthermore, operating the operating
handle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c causes thebottom slide member 40B to slide toward the tail end, and thereby brings the relation between themovable bottom rail 33 and thebottom frame member 12 from the state illustrated inFIG. 20A into the state illustrated inFIG. 20D , thus, gradually moving the tip of the pullingmember 72 away from thecover member 318 of the firstmovable glass plate 311. - Until the abutting
piece 75 provided at the tip of the pullingmember 72 abuts against the pullingabutment surface 103 of theguide rail 100, the tip of the pullingmember 72 moves toward the indoor side around one of the slide screws 73 serving as an axial center of the pullingmember 72, as illustrated fromFIG. 20A to FIG. 20B . During this movement, no external force acts on themovable sash 30, so that themovable sash 30 does not move relative to theopening frame 10. However, the pullingmember 72 is prevented from rotating toward the indoor side after the abuttingpiece 75 has abutted against the pullingabutment surface 103 of theguide rail 100. As a result, further rotation of the pullingmember 72 around theslide screw 73 causes themovable bottom rail 33 to relatively move toward the outdoor side around a contact point between the pullingabutment surface 103 and the abuttingpiece 75 of the pullingmember 72 serving as an axial center of themovable bottom rail 33. This brings the movabletight material 150 provided on thebottom frame member 12 into the state of being pressed into contact with the peripheral end of the secondmovable glass plate 312 located at the bottom thereof, as illustrated inFIG. 6 . - As a result of the above-described operations, operating the operating
handle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c brings all the four peripheral sides of themovable sash 30 into the state of being pressed into contact with the movabletight materials 150 provided on theopening frame 10 and the fixedsash 20. Thus, the water tightness, heat insulating properties, and sound insulating properties can be improved. As described above, themovable sash 30 is pressed into contact with the movabletight materials 150 by operating the operatinghandle 50 in the direction of housing it in thehousing depression 35c without involving the sliding of themovable sash 30. This eliminates the risk of wear of the movabletight materials 150. - When the
movable sash 30 is to be slid again, moving theoperating handle 50 in the direction of projecting from thehousing depression 35c moves the movable rails andstiles movable sash 30 toward the indoor side, thus bringing the movabletight materials 150 into the state of being apart from the secondmovable glass plate 312. Moving the operating handle 50 also positions the tailend engaging pin 81 in the tail end pininsertion hole portion 85a of the tailend cam hole 85 formed in the pullingplate 82, and positions the headend engaging pin 91 in the head end pininsertion hole portion 92a of the headend cam hole 92 formed in the headend slide member 40C. This enables sliding of themovable sash 30 without applying a large operating force. - During the operation described above, the movement of the
movable sash 30 toward the outdoor side relative to theopening frame 10 causes a reaction force thereof to be applied to therespective slide members 40, theguide member 60, and thesash rollers 36. However, according to the above-described fitting, thecover members 318 are provided at places located on the outdoor sides of the top, the bottom, and the headend slide members cover members 318 prevent the top, the bottom, and the headend slide members end slide member 40D, theslide rollers 84 are provided on the pullingplate 82 connected to the tailend slide member 40D, and abut on theslide plate 86 provided on the movabletail end stile 35. As a result, the pullingplate 82, theslide rollers 84, and theslide plate 86 cooperate to prevent the tailend slide member 40D from moving toward the outdoor side. As a result of these arrangements, the movement of themovable sash 30 toward the outdoor side does not cause a problem such as theslide members 40 being pressed into contact with theslide grooves - The
guide member 60 is made such that both ends of theguide arm 61 are provided with the tworespective guide rollers 62, which in turn abut on the respective top guide surfaces 121 of theguide groove 120 provided on thetop frame member 11. This allows theguide member 60 to resist the above-mentioned reaction force without causing a problem in the sliding of themovable sash 30. Furthermore, thesash rollers 36 are directly supported by themovable bottom rail 33, and theguide rail 100 having theinclined surfaces 102 is used. As a result, thesash rollers 36 and themovable sash 30 move toward the outdoor side while slightly moving upward along one of theinclined surfaces 102, and hence need not resist the above-mentioned reaction force. This allows themovable sash 30 to smoothly slide without causing a problem of applying a large reaction force to axles of thesash rollers 36. - In addition, in the fitting described above, the fixed multi-layered
planar material 21 having the two layers of heat-insulatingspaces sash 20, and the movable multi-layeredplanar material 31 having the two layers of heat-insulatingspaces movable sash 30. Moreover, as illustrated inFIGS. 4 and6 , thefirst glass plates head end stiles top rails sashes spaces second glass plates head end stiles top rails third glass plates first glass plates first glass plates second glass plates part cover member 221 is provided at the outer peripheral end of the fixedtail end stile 25 so as to cover the end face of the fixedtail end stile 25 and the end faces of the three fixedglass plates part cover member 221 is unlikely to act as a heat bridge to impair the heat insulating properties because the movabletail end stile 35 of themovable sash 30 is disposed on the indoor side. While a stile having a portion covering the end faces of the threemovable glass plates tail end stile 35, the movabletail end stile 35 is unlikely to act as a heat bridge to impair the heat insulating properties because the fixedtail end stile 25 of the fixedsash 20 is disposed on the outdoor side. - While the embodiment described above illustrates the single sliding window as the fitting, the present invention is not limited to this, but can configure the fitting to serve as a hinged window, as represented, for example, in a modification illustrated in
FIGS. 25 and26 . Specifically, in the modification, the hinged window includes asash 420 similar to the fixedsash 20 used in the embodiment, by supporting atail end stile 425 on avertical frame member 414 of anopening frame 410 with ahinge 450, and by providing ahandle 451 for opening and closing the window on the thickness-direction-facing surface of ahead end stile 424 facing the indoor side. A multi-layeredplanar material 421 includes afirst glass plate 4211, asecond glass plate 4212, and athird glass plate 4213. Thethird glass plate 4213 is formed to have smaller vertical and transverse dimensions than those of the first and thesecond glass plates - The first and the
second glass plates spacer member 4214 interposed between peripheral ends of the respective glass plates, and have a heat-insulatingspace 4215 formed therebetween. Thethird glass plate 4213 is bonded to a surface of thefirst glass plate 4211 with aspacer member 4216 interposed between peripheral ends of the respective glass plates, and have a heat-insulatingspace 4217 formed between the first and thethird glass plates first glass plate 4211 is positioned such that an end face thereof serving as the tail end with respect to the third glass plate 4213 (end face on the right side inFIG. 25 ) lies on the same plane as that of thethird glass plate 4213, and the other end faces serving as the head end (on the left side inFIG. 25 ), the top end, and the bottom end are in a projecting state from respective end faces of thethird glass plate 4213. - A
top rail 422, abottom rail 423, and thehead end stile 424 are provided on the multi-layeredplanar material 421 so as to cover surfaces at respective peripheral ends of thethird glass plate 4213 and the surface of thefirst glass plate 4211 projecting from thethird glass plate 4213. Thetail end stile 425 is provided so as to cover the surface of thethird glass plate 4213. These rails andstiles part cover member 4221 is provided at an outer peripheral end of thetail end stile 425. The meetingpart cover member 4221 covers an end face of thetail end stile 425 and end faces of the threeglass plates - According to this fitting, the
first glass plate 4211 covers the thickness-direction-facing surfaces located on the respective outdoor sides of thehead end stile 424 and the top and thebottom rails space 4215 lies between thesecond glass plate 4212 and the thickness-direction-facing surfaces. This prevents thehead end stile 424 and the top and thebottom rails third glass plate 4213 located on the indoor side is formed to have smaller vertical and transverse dimensions than those of thefirst glass plate 4211. This allows thehandle 451 to be mounted without causing a problem of increase in the dimension in the thickness direction when the first and thesecond glass plates part cover member 4221 is provided at the outer peripheral end of thetail end stile 425 so as to cover the end face of thetail end stile 425 and the end faces of the three glass plates, the meetingpart cover member 4221 is unlikely to act as a heat bridge because a portion thereof located on the indoor side abuts on a thickness-direction-facing surface of thevertical frame member 414 facing the outdoor side and thus is not directly exposed to the indoor side. - At end faces of the multi-layered planar material located at places other than the tail end thereof, that is, at the end face located at the head end and the two end faces adjacent to the head end, the glass plates are bonded to each other so that the first glass plate projects more than the third glass plate. However, in the present invention, the first glass plate only needs to project more than the third glass plate at only one end face.
- According to the embodiment of the present invention, the heat-insulating spaces are provided on the surfaces of the rail and stile members, so that entrance and exit of heat through the rail and stile members can be reduced, and thus, the heat insulating properties can be improved. In addition, a rail or stile member is provided on a surface of the first planar material at least at the head end of the sash, so that the dimension along the thickness direction can be reduced by a thickness given by the heat-insulating space provided between the first and the third planar materials, and hence, the dimension of the sash along the thickness direction thereof can be kept from increasing. Moreover, the end faces of the tail ends of the first, the second, and the third planar materials are located on the same plane, so that the sash can be easily assembled with respect to the end faces in the manufacturing process.
- Although the invention has been described with respect to specific embodiments for a complete and clear disclosure, the appended claims are not to be thus limited but are to be construed as embodying all modifications and alternative constructions that may occur to one skilled in the art that fairly fall within the basic teaching herein set forth.
