Abstract

Disposable gas cartridge with safety system with a detachable plate (2), which, through the neurons (3, 4) that the cartridge (1) has, is fixed and securely held in the inner part of the cartridge (1), while the detachable plate (2) is shaped in a way that when the plate (2) is fixed in the inner part of the cartridge (1) and under pressure, a single point of contact is created between the plate (2) and the cartridge (1), due to the spherical head (6 or 17), and as result, when the pin (10) penetrates the cartridge (1), the possibility of releasing any quantity gas sufficient for ignition, is minimized.

Description

  • The invention refers to a disposable gas cartridge with safety system within which a safety plate is applied, which is specially designed to minimize the possibility of releasing any quantity gas sufficient to ignite in the event that during the first use the bottle is not pierced in the technically indicated manner.
  • Gas cartridges with safety plate that limit the loss of large quantities of gas in the case of inappropriate use of the device are well known, but these, in case the gas cartridge itself falls or pressure is exercised on it, frequently exhibit cases of where the safety plate breaks off from it's correct position inside the gas cartridge, and as a result the safety plate does not function, without this being perceived by the user.
  • In addition, known gas cartridges with safety plate also exhibit the phenomenon where, during the first use of the gas cartridge, the user tries to apply the gas supply switch onto the gas cartridge, the pin, which is located at the end of the switch, does not pierce the spherical recess of the upper wall of the gas cartridge straight in the center, and as a the result the pin does pierce the gas cartridge, but not in a straight manner, so that the gas cannot be supplied in a technically proper manner in the device in order to have a safe ignition.
  • This invention aims to solve these problems. The advantage of the invention is, on one hand, the stable and secure adjustment of the plate inside the gas cartridge and, on the other hand, in case of improper piercing of the gas cartridge by the pin, the possibility of gas being released, capable of causing ignition, is minimized.
  • Some suggested ways of implementing the invention are described with reference to the figures below.
    • Figure 1 is a perspective drawing of the body of the gas cartridge which has circumferentially parallel reinforcements.
    • Figure 2 is a perspective drawing of the safety plate in the case the body of the plate forms an incorporated spherical projection and of the rubber which will be applied to it before they are secured together.
    • Figure 3 is a perspective view of the safety plate when the rubber has been applied and mounted on its incorporated spherical projection.
    • Figure 4 is a sectional drawing of the gas cartridge when the plate bearing the incorporated spherical projection has been applied on its neurons, to which the rubber has been fixed, and before the pin of the gas supply switch enters the bottle itself.
    • Figure 5 is a sectional view of the gas cartridge when the plate bearing the incorporated spherical projection and the rubber have been applied on its neurons, and the pin of the gas supply switch has been entered.
    • Figure 6 is a perspective drawing of the safety plate in case it bears an independent oscillation pin with spherical head and of the rubber which will be applied to it before they are fixed to each other.
    • Figure 8 is a sectional drawing of the gas cartridge when the plate, on which the independent oscillation pin and the rubber have been mounted, has been applied and the pin of the supply switch has been entered
  • The figures show a disposable gas cartridge with safety system which consists of the cartridge (1), a detachable plate (2) and a rubber (5). With the application of the plate (2) the gas of the cartridge (1) is limited in the area outside the wall of the rubber (5).
  • According to this invention the cartridge (1) has on its entire perimeter of the wall at least two parallel neurons, of which the lower neuron is a recess (4) and the upper neuron is a projection (3). During its application on the cartridge (1), the plate (2) shrinks with its tension in the recess (4) of the lower neuron of the perimeter wall of the cartridge and with the force which is exerted it develops in the projection (3) of the upper neuron, and as a result the radial edges (13) of the plate are entrapped and stabilized on the projection (3).
  • The plate (2) entering the perimeter neurons of the cartridge, which increase its rigidity, is fixed on it and it holds itself there firmly; as a result in the case of either exercise of pressure on the cartridge itself or if it falls, the release of the plate from its fixing position on the upper neurons is minimized.
  • According to a proposed realization of the invention the plate has a projecting spherical head (6) in its center on which the rubber (5) and retaining blades (9) of the rubber (5) are applied. In this case the rubber (5) is shaped like an inverted T, moreover its base has a shape corresponding to the upper surface of the plate (2) so that their application is possible. The base of the rubber (5) has mounting holes (8) through which the mounting blades (9) of the plate pass and mount the rubber (5) on the plate (2). The leg of the inverted T forms a cylindrical wall (12) which has an appropriate hole (7) inside it, so that the spherical head (6) of the plate (2) passes through it.
  • In an alternative realization of the invention the plate (2) has a hole (15) in its center, in which the leg of an independent T-shaped oscillation pin (16) with a spherical head (17) enters. In this case the rubber (5) forms a cylindrical wall (12), which has an appropriate hole (7) inside it, so that the oscillation pin (16) passes through it and can be held there by means of the projecting spherical head (17). The protruding leg of the T enters the hole (15) of the plate and is held on the lower surface of the plate by means of a fixing (18), which secures the oscillation pin on the plate (2) and the rubber (5).
  • The upper part of the cylindrical wall of the rubber (5) touches the top of the cartridge and embraces the spherical recess (14) which is formed at this point on the cartridge itself (1). When the plate (2) is mounted inside the cartridge, the tension of the plate (2) pushes it upwards and in that way the spherical head (6) of the plate or the spherical head of the oscillation pin (17) touches the spherical recess (14) of the cartridge, thus creating only a single point of contact between the plate (2) and the cartridge (1).
  • From the spherical recess (14) of the cartridge (1) passes the pin (10) of the gas supply switch. When the pin (10) of the supply switch penetrates the cartridge (1) at the point of the spherical recess (14) it pushes the spherical head (6) of the plate or spherical head (17) of the oscillation pin (16) towards their single point of contact, and as a result the plate (2) withdraws and allows the proper supply of the gas.
  • In case the pin (10) penetrates the cartridge at any point other than the single contact point between the projecting spherical head (6) of the plate or the spherical head (17) of the oscillation pin (16) with spherical recess (14) of the cartridge, then either the pin (10) will not exercise sufficient pressure on the spherical head (6 or 17), or no pressure at all will be exercised on the spherical head (6 or 17), and as a result the plate (2) will not withdraw and will not allow the passage of a quantity of gas capable of causing ignition.
